I also question the intelligence of OP. Not sure what he expects to accomplish coming to these forums, admitting to disconnecting, providing video evidence of his violation and then trying to justify it because he is ass at the game. It takes a special kind of stupid to do something like this, especially since we have developers that actively read these forums. This is a classic case of shooting yourself in the foot and being to stupid too realize you have done so.

I agree. Ranking up means nothing except for more frustration. I think a bloodpoint and shards reward should be awarded for reaching the high ranks and staying there aswell. Perhaps there could also be special cosmetics that are only available to Rank 1 players each season. You must reach rank 1 each season to keep the cosmetic available to you.

I hope a dev sees this and gives you a nice 24hr ban for DCing. Please, uninstall this game. You don't deserve to play it.
Edit: reported -
I am getting sick an tired of people DCing mid game aswell. Its a mere annoyance for the killer because it denies him points but it makes his job much easier and unless the survivors can work a miracle it is going to basically be an auto loss. You will never be able to fully eliminate DCing sadly. There are endless reasons why someone might DC. Emergency, internet failed, computer crashed, etc. The vast majority are just salty and the ones that DC out of malice and not because of a legitimate reason are the worst kind. Really the only thing that can be done is to mitigate the effects a DC has on a team. I think if a survivor DCes that should automatically pop one gen, be an auto safety pip for all players that round, killer and survivor both get points. 2000 sacrifice points for the killer and his BBQ stack off the DCed survivor if applicable and 2000 altruism points for the survivors to make up for some of the loss. In addition to that the killer should not lose any of his addons for that round.

I am curious to know what devotion does aswell. Can a dev comment on this? If it does nothing right now what is the planned purpose of it?Basically what Beaburd says. Once you hit level 100, it resets back to 1 and you get one level of devotion. Think of it like prestiges for your player level. Or if you've played Overwatch, think of it like the way the leveling works there. You hit 100, then you reset back to 1 and get a star.
Short version, it makes it so you can keep leveling to earn more shards.
So its only function is to just help you keep track of how many times you reached level 100. I wonder if there will ever be any rewards for achieving devotion levels.

I want to try it with lithe, quick and quiet and urban evasion. Those perks would synergize well with it.

When one of my team mates DC because they are entitled little babies that cant handle losing or the match not going their way. Nothing annoys me more because they basically screw over the whole team. To any of the dumbasses that think DCing is acceptable. Please uninstall. You don't hurt the killer. You deny him some points but thats it and when you do this ######### it just makes his job that much easier. If you don't want to play the match don't join a lobby in the first place.

I've always liked the idea of a gradual time out that increases with each DC in a certain time frame. And this could also apply to Killers that pre-emptively close their lobby (aka Dodging) simply cause one person is a streamer or someone has a toolbox. They already have a 5 second cooldown when you return to menu, why not make it increase with each return? Someone DC's in a match? 30 second cooldown. They DC again? 3 minutes. Again? 30 minutes. Etc.Of course the killer dodge penalty wouldn't be as steep as the above example, but if they were forced to wait for 2-5 minutes between each Dodge, they'd be slightly less prone to do so.
Even if I had to wait 1 hour after a dodge, I will keep dodging these toxic streamers. In my 500+ hours I have only encountered a single one where I enjoyed playing against him.
Playing another game for 1 hour is more enjoyable then going into such a game
I second this. I play this game to have fun, not go up against mister teabags and his 4 BNP's with D strike. If there is a time penalty created for dodging lobbies i will just play another game. Got lots of games on steam that i need to finish.

you can't really take out looping because even if we have one pallet its gonna get looped its just what happens its our only weapon against a killer other then just sprinting away or DS (i don't use DS but its a tool) looping is just like camping or dropping a survivor to get to a hook its tool.Survivors do not need nor deserve in any capacity a weapon to use against the killer. They are supposed to use finesse, wit and mind games to lose the killer too avoid capture. Not feel they have the capabilities and tools necessary to combat them head on. The unfortunate reality is that survivors do have weapons, many weapons to use against the killer and it is this reality that has this game is such a frustrating, god awful state.

Dead Hard is fine. It can be easily countered aswell. Its a good, balanced perk. Decisive Strike needs to be gutted though.

I agree. Its bullshit he is getting flagged. OP is nothing but polite and respectful in all his responses here. I think the flag button has become the replacement for the downvote button at this point.
Thats really ironic since you flagged my post about how 50% bonus xp for the killer during SWF would help, simply because you wanted to whine about the games mechanics.
You are not mature enough for forums. No offense

I must have missed something, since when does you get notificated about who is flagging you?
Flag me and I will tell ya whether I was able to see that it was you
For some reason I cant flag myself

Sure
edit: should normally be done by now
Did you flagg my previous post? I cant see a flag when looking at it and I didnt receive a notification either
I did, it also said that my complain was registered.
Ok interesting, can you see the flag in your post
"Sure

Maybe you cant see flags of your own posts at all
Don't know why it didn't worked on my end but I can now confirm that you don't get notified that you're getting flag and even less who flagged you therefor @Lowbei is only speculating that @SadonicShadow flagged him unless he told it to him.
ahh. i know he did, because he posted right after he flagged it that he disagreed with the idea. which is why i found it ironic that he would be talking about flag abuse in another thread at the same time.
Understandable, but it might still just be a coincidence tho

Also to add if a solo queuer disabled the chat and text system there should be a little notification on the UI for all players telling them that they have all communication disabled so that the other players know that they cant communicate with them.

You can read my old posts, “sad state of survivor balance” and “why the game can’t be balanced” to get the bulk of it. My main suggestion was give solo survivors comms (NOT proximity, killer CANT hear it) that are equal to SWF in strength, so survivors can be nerfed appropriately. But I’ve now thought of something in retrospect... a new scourge would be sewn across the land... the new, strongest and most OP killer in the game would arrive... the squeaker!
I did, and still do think it should be implemented though, 12 year old screams fill my heart with rainbows
I am on board with the idea of voice comms for the solo queues but with a stipulation in mind. Allow voice chat to be disabled. You and i both know that if voice comms are enabled the level of toxicity and cancer would be second to none. I can already see SWF groups bullying, bitching and harassing the solo queues over every little mistake. The solo queue should be able to completely opt out of voice comms and be able to use an in game text system if they so choose. Even then they should be able to disable both those features if they want to go for the full lack of communication experience.

Most of the killers come willingly, others not so much. From what i understand about the lore i think Evan MacMillian was the only one that needed some "enhanced persuasion" to carry out the entities will. As evidenced by the large gashes and hooks in his body. The other killers appear to not have much of a problem with killing. I imagine if Evan tried to become a survivor and escape despite it being a foolish decision the Entity would perform some of the most horrible torture on him for his disobedience.

Give solo queue comms as strong as SWF, then nerf both. That’s the reason SWF isn’t nerfed right now, they can’t code a specific lobby nerf to them alone, and nerfing survivors would make solo queue even more difficult. As it stands, statistically the survival rate is 50% including both modes. SWF alone is 70% (OP) solo is 30% (too weak). So buff solo to what could make them as good as SWF, and have a 70% survival rate, then nerf them both to a nice 50%. If the nerf occurred now, SWF would indeed be balanced, but solo’s 30% rate would be EVEN lower. There, solution.I hope you are taking notes Lowbei. This is an example of a good, reasonable solution to the current problems we are facing. But considering your most recent posts its pretty clear you are anything but reasonable.

I don't think the game being so 1vs1-able was intended. That was an unintended consequence of more skilled, obsessive players uncovering a meta playstyle and perk combination that made them stronger than intended.Of course not. The level of viability 1vs1 is at is insane. Like I said: You should be outplayed by the survivor, not outran. AKA jukes and stealth. Which is why I like the Nurse: She's the worst killer when it comes to stealthy plays. Have you ever noticed the best-skilled survivors are the ones that break LoS and just randomly disappear? (Please answer I actually want your opinion on that question)
This is taken directly from deadbydaylight.com
"Stealth, smarts and discretion is key if you’re playing as a Survivor. You see the world in third-person and have the advantage of a wider field of view. If you don’t fear an adrenaline rush when the Killer walks right by as you hide in the grass – Survivor is your pick"Man, this isn't even the case at all. This game hardly supports stealthed play, and it's sad. I want less viability to 5 minute chases, harder chases but easier ways to escape. If you think about it: The Easiest way to play survivor right now is to run around a piece of wood until its broken and you get time to run to another one. What even.........................................
Maybe the OP is right when this game supports stealth and not so chased-based. But as it stands, she's put on the pedestal because of the current nature of the game.
I agree completely that the game would be better if survivors went down pretty quickly unless they outplayed and lost the killer, but the devs have been making stealth worse and worse with perks like BBQ, killers like the Doctor and Freddy, and the scoring and ranking systems which don't reward stealth. Feels like a monumental task, to turn the game into a stealth game.
It would be a monumental task but if the devs care anything about making DBD back into what it was supposed to be they have to do it. I would take anything to have survivors rely on out playing me with mind games and not out running me. Pallets are probably the most annoying thing for me to deal with on top of second chance perks and pallets are also what hardcounters literally all but two killers. If they could remove pallets and rework the gameplay to heavily encourage stealth and using mind games to lose the killer it would be a great experience to be both the hunter and the hunted. There would actually be a feeling of tension in the air as the killer grows close because knowing that the only thing that can save you from the killer is being able to outsmart him not outrun him would be an amazing feeling. Removing pallets would require a pretty massive overhaul however to make it work but i think with heavy buffs to stealth play and reworking the killers tracking perks to fit this new gameplay it would be a much more rewarding and fun experience. At that point the lines between what makes a good killer and good survivor is not how many pallets you can loop or tear through but at how well you are at hunting your prey and mind gaming them and likewise how good you are at avoiding the killer and using LOS blockers to your advantage.

@Brady The best fun i have in this game is when its a purely skill based interaction between myself and the survivors. No mindless pallet looping, crutchburst, D strike or any of all that other time wasting and second chance non sense. I LOVE mindgames. I love trying to read a survivor and predict where they will go. My skill at mind games vs them. If a survivor outplays me through mind games i do not feel like i was robbed, or cheated. I say to myself that was a good survivor and win or lose that chase it was a good experience and we both learn something. The most satisfying feeling is downing a survivor after outplaying them. It makes me feel better as a killer and i learn how to play better as a survivor. If 100% of the game was about skillful mind games instead of looping boring pallets and wasting a killers time and energy by making him eat plywood and D strikes this game would be amazing and i hope that is the direction it will take. Any fool can loop a pallet but a truly good survivor knows how to do mind game using LOS blockers and avoid detection.

Perhaps i was a bit harsh but he stated in his post that his solution solves the entire problem of SWF. I respectfully pointed out why that was not so in my first response and provided the reason why bloodpoints were not sufficient as it does nothing to address balance. This is not an a good incentive to not dodge the lobby and it most certainly does not solve the problem in any way, shape or form. Blood point incentives will not make up for bad game play and busted balance. My number one reason i play this game is to have fun and playing against SWF is not fun. Bonus bloodpoints doesn't make it any less frustrating. You could not give me enough bloodpoints to make it worth it.

You will find that practically no one here agrees with the stupidity you just typed. I am baffled that you think this solves the problem of SWF. Again people overrate Nurse . Mediocore Nurse is not stronger than any killer . Don't rely on looping every time , god damn it .
A mediocre Nurse is stronger than any other killer unless they're played by an absolute expert. Looping is the game. The devs have been making stealth less appealing with every update.
Simply because no matter what, the Survivor players push for it because of how easy it is. Started with infinite’s, devolved into Looping. Only reason : Because Survivors knew Looping is overpowered. Now suddenly Looping is being addressed slowly and Survivors are losing their minds.
If they cant 1v1 Killers, suddenly everything is “useless, Killers are OP, everyone will quit the game, game will die.”
Its pretty much expected at this point. Survivors kick and scream every step of the way for the preservation of broken mechanics that allow 1v1. I joined this community after infinite's were already dealt with via the entity blocker but for the sake of gaining perspective on the matter i took a dive through the DBD subreddit and steam forums looking for the survivors perspective on infinite's and of course almost every topic on the matter there were loads of survivors defending them. Saying the survivors need them, that the killer should just git gud or switch targets, etc. Now its the same with pallet looping and D strike. Bad survivors want to maintain broken mechanics that allow 1v1 because the idea that they will actually have to learn how too not be ass at a 4v1 game frightens them. Why they bought this game in the first place i dont know. I imagine the majority of them play it because its bully simulator 2018 and such play was popularized by streamers such as OchiDo, Noob3, Angrypug, etc. I hope the devs nerf survivors until killers are at the point where getting found by them is "oh #########, i dun ######### up" and not "yeah, boi. Got my sprint burst, flashlight and D strike all set and ready. Lets go to pallet town".
If DBD ever reaches that point that it is true 4v1 and the survivors no longer have any safety nets the game will be in a good spot.

I am a Rank 7 killer to be honest looping is a bad aspect but not as bad as camping, Gen rushing only happens if you don't apply map pressure now I do agree the gens can still be done pretty fast but a camper can hardly complain about the gens being done too fast if he sits at a hook for 2mins and applies zero map pressure even average Survivors can get the gens done in that time. And if you mean DS I hate that perk with a passion it should be removed from the game.Have you heard of Marths depip squad? I think they would like to have some words with you about "gen rush only happens if you don't apply map pressure"
-
@Spectre_UK said:
Against lower ranked Survivors camping may work when you start to approach Ranks 10 or 9 a lot of Survivors will punish the Killer if they camp if it say takes you 2 gens to catch the first Survivor then you camp if the others do gens and open the exits unless they come back and you get lucky you will be de-pippingOutright face camping is generally a bad strat at high ranks unless you get a team of exceptionally stupid, overly altruistic people but your whole suggestion hinges on the fact that a killer will give a ######### about rank and points enough to not camp. If a killer is going into a trial with the explicit intent to face camp they dont care about ranking up or getting points they are looking to ruin the game for the survivors and there is not a single thing that could be implemented short of a total rework of the game to stop that. As a matter of fact depipping is actually a good thing to many killers because it means you are not as likely to face cancerous SWF death squads every match.
-
You want to punish killers because you don't like the way they kill you? Sorry but the devs have been very clear on camping. It is a legit method of play and if a killer decides thats how he wants to go about killing his victims then that is how it is going to be. If he wants to park his ass with 5 gens left and watch you die he has every right to do so. The only way you can stop camping as a general tactic is to give killers a good enough reason to leave the hook. BBQ does a good job in many respects by showing other potential targets plus a tempting treat of bonus bloodpoints and killers have gotten other perks that provide incentive to leave aswell. Devour hope, make your choice, etc. Giving a killer a good enough reason to leave is how you go about reducing incidences of camping not punishing them outright because the way they are killing is somehow the wrong way to kill because survivors say so.
-
Welcome to Dead By Daylight. The most addictive yet most frustrating game i have ever played. It is the perfect example of a Love and Hate relationship. My suggestion is give absolutely zero ######### on what the survivors think. Play your killer how you want to play. The salty, toxic survivors are generally whiny, entitled brats that expect you to adhere to a bunch of made of rules. Be ruthless, show no mercy. Camp, tunnel, use every trick in the book to ensure you are victorious. The opinions of your prey do not matter in the slightest. They will insult and berate you if you win or lose so you might aswell try your best to win. Good luck.
-
Buying a intel CPU when i could have held on for awhile longer and got a Ryzen.

I dont know what the fuss is about gen tapping. If a survivor is gen tapping ruin is doing its job because it is painfully slow to tap gens. Smart survivors know its better to just work through ruin vs tapping it.

If i am not breaking the rules i can do whatever i want. I don't play killer to make sure the survivors have fun i play to kill them and if i decide one round i want to face camp someone into the dirt for the lolz i am going to do just that. I learned a long time ago that camping is a part of this game and if i myself get camped i legit think nothing of it. My fault for being caught, i made the mistake and i am not entitled to a free save and if my mistake costs me my life that round then so be it. Yes, borrowed time is unlimited. It used to only be a one use perk that applied to both the unhooked and the unhooker but it was changed to be unlimited at the expense of it only effecting the hooked survivor.
I'm sorry. There's a translation mistake then. Because in the German perk description it says "once per round".

@SadonicShadow Yeah, I guess if the devs did implement it so you can and they even announce that it's okay, I don't have a way to fight it besides hanging on as long as I possibly can. I get it, reports suck to waste others time and your own and even potentially get a killer in trouble for doing something that the devs said was ok. Thanks for the post my dude.Honestly i came into this thread thinking you were just another salty survivor looking to stir some ######### up. Glad i was wrong and your actually calm, reasonable, civil and have provided pleasant responses to the people in this thread. +1 we need more people like you in this community. Hope you have a good day man. Much love!

No it is not okay to report camping. Camping is not bannable in any way, shape or form. The devs have been very clear about that. It is a legit strategy and people need to get over it. Furthermore i despise people that waste the devs time by polluting their report forum with frivolous complaints such as camping or tunneling and people like that need to suffer a 48hr ban from the game and lose all bloodpoints and shards for making such stupid reports and wasting a moderators time that could be reviewing the actual serious cases such as hacking.
