His downside is his long cooldown when broken out of stealth. Every other stealth killer can use their stealth repeatedly as much as they want (barring wraith flashlight)
-
They're adding some extra survival points for struggling on the killer's back. I believe it's 25/second assuming 5 seconds per hooking is an extra 375 minimum if you aren't getting tunneled / don't have DS which would be extra points as well.

“All sort of problems where the Killer would never be able to find you” are countered by not slugging.
I suppose to counter slugging you could just not get downed I suppose too.

Meanwhile ghostface has the opposite issue :'(

haunted grounds is a bad perk? it seems good combined with hex: ruin, the survivor who clean the totem will have a 33% chance to be #########, or there is some way to identify a haunted ground totem?
There isn't, it's just running a perk that has a 33% chance to not be used at all basically or ignored altogether if people can resist the allure of the orange-tinted bones
-
One could say it's part of...the game *ba dum tsh*
Joking aside it's just one of the bits of rng you could have. Another game spot that tends to have a generator, the upper floor one can either have a small door open giving 2 escape routes without having to use the jump-chute or closed off so a stealth killer could get an easy jump on you. Swamps sometimes has a gen literally against the end of the outer bound walls.
-
"Also forgive me discordance, I didn't want to level you up to rank 2"
It's okay just prestige once you've gotten more teachables unlocked so it doesn't happen again :P
-
I had this happen once and it isn't only the nurse either. I whispered one of the survivors I matched with (was a SWF group) and they said they had it happen as freddy.
-
It's like the opposite of all the survivors bringing in uncommon toolboxes with maybe a regular addon at best...except he can't use them repeatedly without spending more points. but don't forget "gen times are fine you just didn't map pressure enough" is the common response to that situation.
-
Maybe if I had rank 3 iron will I'd switch it out for that, but if I get unhooked + ditched w/o a med kit then I'm a giveaway stealth wise and handicapped in mind gaming as well
-
"Or we riot!" You mean what is normally happening anyway?

I don't understand why people watch streamers that just play videogames, such as the DBD ones or even people like Ninja. To me it's just boring, and I'd rather just play the game myself. I also can't stand the egos some streamers have, acting like playing a videogame is akin to performing a life-saving surgery. No shade to anyone who likes watching them, I just don't get it
I personally do it to relax as killer can feel stressful at times if you're 'going hard' (ie trying to down 2 people on a bad map as a mid-tier killer). My go to is otzdarva since he's usually wholesome, does meme builds and explains almost everything he's doing as he plays so it's quite educational.
edit on topic: And we can have killers with noed toxicity! /s

And then they get salty because you tunneled
Like there's only 1 type of build/perks that I hate: The "no you didn't x me" perks. DS into lockers, sabotage, noed all fall into this category for me.

So like do survivors get some sort of pleasure out of running to a corner so you can't make it to a hook? The most recent game I played had a david who realized I couldn't make it to any hooks so he just kept running back to that area not sure if he thought he was funny or trolling me but I honestly gave zero "bad wordsss" 0w0 and just let him bleed out while I look at the dankest memes
"If you don't hook me I win". It's one of the reasons hooks had to be able to respawn basically cause killers would just end up slugging 4 players instead of attempting to hook. When I play against someone using a specifically sabotage build (has 2 hooks in a corner at 99%, kills one before chase starts, kills other and gets hit, goes to corner). I specially tunnel them once I got them on a hook. There's no real counter because leave em alone? Unbreakable themselves. Pick em up? escape + back to corner. Ignore altogether? what's a map pressure

If they brought a syringe into match and you never hit them the entire game, then is the joke really on them?
I'd say it is: you beat the killer so badly you didn't have a chance to revive a player yet because you had to butt dance at the exit still lost the item...Though supposedly people have such a surplus they're trying to get rid of it's no difference :P

What do you think about these suggested changes listed off at 8:40.
I mentioned it elsewhere before but no collision would be weird in the off chance spirit happens to land INSIDE a survivor at power end. Would she remain collisionless until outside? Would either of the 2 people suddenly warp to fix it? If so what happens if she's between the survivor and 2 walls?
I often hear that 'good' spirits don't use grunts and welcome iron will users without using stridor so this change wouldn't mean anything to them.
I really can't say anything about prayer beads as I'm a spine chill perma-user / don't own spirit but hear survivors constantly say rarity change won't do anything, it'll just make the spirit have to farm more BP to make sure they have enough. If anything I'd switch the father's glasses though personally.
This could be good against those people who like to constantly go in power for half a second to fake out but that's about it and would be a direct nerf when they had buffed her cooldown on release I believe.
-
My only issue with the swamp maps is due to their size if a hex totem spawns on the outskirts they're super hard / annoying to find. I rejoice as a killer when it happens though :P
-
She has a few giveaways that better than me survivors can notice: her shards on her body glows (other cosmetics could cover this), her animation altogether resets, and if she's using the original hairstyle it's super obvious. Here's a few timestamps where you can try to catch a few of these. Sadly I couldn't find any where it was straight out fake-phasing at a safe pallet:
an old vid where you can see it at the pallet after the timestamp: https://youtu.be/0MfQzRb484E?t=467
another (watch her hair specifically on this one): https://youtu.be/ovKUtWmKscU?t=369

If they want the player base to participate in testing servers then they need to release patches for the issues the player base brings up. It's been 11 days and nothing has changed. Same rubber band problems. Same stutter when kicking a gen/pallet.
Besides the first release of it on PTB (where they withdrew it for a day) they usually took a length of PTB, turned it off, fiddled, then back on. I'd assume the same for this if they (hopefully) turn off / improve for the mid-chapter.
-
to converse with fellow survivors. I receive it enough on the other side to not do it to others :D...unless I match with a ghostface
-
I'm personally fine with the own trap triggering, but your final sentence is very annoying and seemed to have been a change that some mains find unintended. Just remember: you can hit a survivor that's been trapped to down them so that you can pick up the trap that's in your way or so on. This also lets you take the trap with you if it was a "one timer" kinda trap instead of having to pick up, go to hook, go back to trap.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
I'd like to just take away her collision with survivors. Just do that by itself and see how it plays out.
I'd like to assume the reason they leave her having collision is because of how odd it'd be if she happened to de-phase in a survivor: does she suddenly warp back / survivor warp elsewhere? what if she's between 2 walls and a survivor (with survivor partly taking up the space she would be)?
-
Like you said you can just be awake, but stepping in them is enough to stop them when he's far away (and perhaps a distraction). If you aren't far away and want to 'flashlight/disarm' like trapper/hag then you're probably going to eat a hit from that anyway so there's no difference there...
-
I quite agree with this or at the minimum the middle ground: the first skill check after the first hook.
-
Instead of an obsession being slugged since there's no hooks nearby (or enduring is used so they'll choose to eat it for less time than current one can do at rank 1 I believe?) anyone can use DS instantly (no chance of being hooked whatsoever, even if you afk after being downed) after being picked up within a minute of being unhooked. The meta of using it now is ~40 seconds in run in front of the killer nearby lockers, jump inside, wait to get picked up, if picked up DS, jump back in, head on, if not picked up, head on. You just gained your team ~15 seconds and aren't in a terrible position still.

I don't mean username as in Survivor name - Claudette vs David, username is your individual platform account username or ID. Swapping Survivors at the last minute is to try and avoid Franklin's Demise but that doesn't conceal your platform ID. Otherwise not sure what you mean by deleting that information.
My situation: I see S_Panda who switched characters at 6 seconds giving me no time to create my own plan, and change my stuff based on that
Your situation: I see another claudette.

This may seem to be a little overkill, but I own DBD on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
I am thinking about getting it on the Switch as well.
Seeing as how there can be long que times for all systems, how is it on the Switch?
I can already imagine that it is pretty much the same as all other versions, but is worse on the Switch due to a smaller player base?
There was a thread a few weeks ago that now that ranks were fully implimented it's terrible to get matched (with better parts of an hour iirc). Add on that it's dedicated servers at all times (due to switch limits) and it seems to be a bad time?
-
Except my example literally deletes that information...

A fair chunk of people mention bringing perks to counter spirit, or for stealth gameplay. Problem is, as much as I always try to make it work, survivor stealth is unfortunately bad. There are way too many different ways for stealth builds to be hard-countered, and that sucks. Hell, a large number of survivors see BBQ alone as enough of a reason to abandon stealth.
bbq alone makes it even easier to stealth though imo, after the first time seeing that they obviously have it (bee line to you). Then you can use it to your advantage: survivor gets downed run x direction then go y if you aren't at a gen already and if you are then you usually have a locker nearby. Or if your gen is about to be done use it even further to your advantage: they'll come for you definitely still being there yet you sneak off nearly right next to them at times
I agree with you on the hard counter till the next update though (mirror mikey) :D

Idk what you're going on about? This is about the usernames of Survivors on display, not The Killer. I don't care to see their username and am fine with the current system. Survivor usernames should be concealed until the end.
It can give you info on a survivor you played against before. One of the fun things survivors can do which counters any reasoning they're shown beforehand is change survivor at 6 seconds remaining for their actual loadout (items). A killer could remember this and what they used for the future. Like others mentioned before I feel it's more often friendly than detrimental of showing a name beforehand.

It's not necessarily trying to do your best. I see it as playing optimally even after something happens that would tip the odds in their favor. So let's say you load into a game, someone gets found and downed, and they instantly DC. Normally a killer wouldn't have to try as hard or play as optimally to win. You can let them get a pallet stun or complete an unhook etc and the outcome of the match would be the same, only slightly more enjoyable. A "sweaty" killer holds no punches.
I really hate that situation: the killer has to 'go easy' just cause someone else rage quit meanwhile if the killer isn't that great do survivors ever hold off on the final gen while all 4 are up and full healed? Or even maybe give a free hook if they haven't even been while sitting at the exit waiting to leave because they never leave when they have the perfect opening to?
I personally don't want to lengthen such a match anymore where I already lost a bbq token and points after many people then going "I'll drop a pallet and jump back and forth now dc as well". Once had 2 do that and a remainder go "why not just farm?"...like I'm already getting less than half of what I could get why would I waste more time on that?

Completely forgot this forum is being dominated by Killer mains that think Ebony, Prayer Beads, Iridescent Head etc. are fine and get tilted af when Survivors dodge them.
Smh my head.
And when survivors dodge after getting trapped in a trapper's trap 3 seconds into a chase and every other reasonless dc (ignoring dedicateds exasperating the issue). They never do that though, that'd show that addons/offerings aren't the reason survivors dodge.
-
Anything that is winning more than the other player. Obviously they weren't trying (getting sweaty) while you were is why you won.
-
I'm more on ghost's side myself: I'm an immersive player and I feel even if I just go "got spine chill so if we're on a gen together against stealth killer book it" someone will comment at the minimum. I can imagine how great it'd be if 2 survivors with strike at the end planned one of those 'end-game camp' plays without being swf though.
-
It depends on whether you want to use his stalking ability or not. Your normal build is aimed towards not (ie using it to get in free hits / stronger mindgames). You'd want to switch out one of your perks for a tracking perk of some sort to make use of his stalking (I do NC just because if they're healing it means they were probably unhooked meaning DS anyway): surveillance for knowing a gen is being worked on from further away, whispers to know when to crouch while at the start / hunting near the end.

Mirror Myers isn't even OP in Lehry's/Game. It's definitely the best places to use him (and probably Hawkins, now) but certainly not OP.
Sure he isn't. Ignoring the obvious unable to see him coming until it's almost too late: he has one of the strongest thing a killer can have, information. Will he go after the injured person self-caring in a corner, or 2 people on a gen together? Most generators have at least 2 paths to come in so against him you have to be swiveling your camera constantly to make sure you don't get grabbed and even then it's a free hit. Then you get to run away for a bit since he'll ignore you now that you're on guard.
His slow-movement speed (still faster than survivors) isn't even a downside since the maps mentioned are some of the smallest ones in the game, so a survivor can't actually make real distance before hitting a corner.
-
When you do see him coming/leaning: break los while making distance. The worst thing you can do is run in straight line as he'll get you to near-exposed, get close, expose, and down. If you're annoying enough to keep out of los long enough he may just give up on stalking you (for now) or even give up on it altogether and hit you getting rid of any stalk progress since then.
If you do get exposed: don't run to your nearest loop/pallet especially if it's unsafe. Keep making distance then use a safe pallet to force him to stop again. Even if you're unlucky enough to get downed in the timer you probably wasted a good minute of his to expose you in the first place and then down you.
Ghostface users: Run your preferred 'tracking' perk (mine's whispers) and keep to the outer ring of the map. Once it lights up crouch and pay attention to sight breakers nearby and peak around them at the generator you're near. If you're lucky they're on the side you're on. If you're unlucky they're on the other side but may not be looking in your direction letting you get a bead on them. Worst case scenario: they see you and get scared getting into LOS letting you start marking them for later, or stay at the gen to prevent marking but letting you get a free hit in which makes a win win.

There is no such thing as safe pallets. Most killers are just trash and can’t do anything with them other than wasting time. If a pallet is dropped, it’s a guessing game for the spirit also. That is true shes based around luck but how is that unfair just because you have no guaranted safety? Luck is by the far the most fair thing in the world.
There are definitely safe pallets in the game. Look at any map pre-badham rework and you'll see a majority of the pallets will allow you to kite a killer around them for enough time for bloodlust to come up if the killer doesn't destroy it early. An unsafe one allows for the killer to land a hit almost assuredly if the survivor doesn't stun them with said pallet. You see many of these in the underground lab's hallways and are ~1/2 of badham's loops since it has at least 4ish inside the buildings which are very safe

So how does undetectable work for him? Only while he is stalking?
I mean you still can. Survivors aren't willing to use spine chill to counter spirit when complaining so badly about her so I doubt mikey being counterable by it will make many more use it.

As much as I agree it's a pity to nerf his tier one. The jump scare myers build ended up overpowerred because guess what offering is used with it? lery's! I started running spine chill especially cause of ghostface (pig/wraith being bonuses) and am glad that I now have a single counter to wall hacking myers :P.
Perhaps if it really does kill his potential tier 1 could be reverted somehow, but if a myers uses the scratched mirror it could remove the ignore perks portion. A win against a not counterable build and a neutral for regular ones.
