I don’t know why people keep saying it’s intended to stop face camping when it can’t even do that. Tombstone Myers can completely bypass the system if he wants to lol.

We can kick a gen only 8 times now and you're still in here complaining about removing tapping. Tell me, what will make you happy?
You say that as if you are kicking gens 8 times before it’s complete lol. By the time you have to kick an individual gen that many times either everyone will already be dead or your 3 gen should be broken. In short, it’s not common to get 8 regression events on one gen.
-
@Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:
Aye. Currently there's a bug with wire tap that capitalizes on that. I love the internet!
Yep I knew about the wiretap one and then thought “wait, then can’t we all just use this to completely prevent gen kicking all together?” If all survivors started doing this, it would become meta overnight.
-
The base game is the problem. If mmr worked perfectly, once you get to a certain level it would be like “comp” dbd. Which is to say it would be horrible for the most part. It would mostly be tunnel 1 person while survivors try to gen rush. Basically how it is right now.
-
7 minutes against a swf with full gen rush builds and splitting up ion gens is slow. Imagine if it wasn’t a swf with those builds. My guess is you would have easily won.
-
The auto injury needs to go too. Deleting her all together would also be nice 😂.

how often does a killer without any of that proxy camping a survivor wins the game for them anyway just give like a week
If you play killer and are even mediocre, I guarantee you are winning the vast majority of games with or without tunneling. I’ve played both sides for years and I can confidently say that unless you are playing a coordinated group or you mistakenly chase the wrong survivor at the start of the match, you can win 60%-80% of games fairly easily.

I know but I don’t know why they even need to watch it. We saw what happened with old eruption. We saw what happened with overbrine.

If they are using it like that that they are telling the survivor team that you camping someone with 120s of time to death, they have plenty of time to both get some gens done after that 30s and use any kinds of perks and effects like reassurance and then save near the end or have 270s worth of gens done on top of any they had before that for a 2 perk combo. We already have a perk that would function like that but better and its called deadlock no combo required.
Right and how often does that coordination happen without being in a swf? Think about how often when you solo queue does the team 3 out or better? It’s rare. People tried to defend overbrine/Eruption as well and we saw how that turned out.
-
@bjorksnas said:
I mean it only works when you hook a new survivor so really if anything it rewards spreading pressure and not tunneling. Its hard to want killers to not tunnel and spread pressure but also not like it if they get tools that would let them.
Who says you have to spread pressure. You can just as easily use the block time to proxy camp with no fear of gens getting done. And painres/pop on top and it becomes even easier to make it a 3v1 and then impossible to complete gens.
-
i think the actually win rate is more important than individual escape rate. Something tells me that getting a 3 out or better in solo is much rarer than the devs want to admit. I would be surprised if the solo win rate is close to 20%.

Survivors can work around proxi camping. What it seems like is the Op wants guaranteed safe unhooks. I fail to see the double standard.
In an average game, no it can’t be worked around. Generally speaking, if the killer wants to proxy camp/tunnel someone out, no amount of body blocking or second chance perks is going to stop that from happening (especially in solo q). To save someone that’s being tunneled usually requires 5 things: 1. They have to be able to loop for 1.5 to 2 minutes at a time 2. All other survivors must focus purely on gens 3. 2-3 gens must pop before the first down 4. The killer doesn’t have 2-4 slowdowns 5. not a top tier killer
It’s a tall order for solo survivors meanwhile it’s incredibly easy for the killer to do and be effective.

A thousand of those Wraiths is better than a single Wesker with Ultimate Weapon, in my honest opinion.
They both suck lol
-
The real question is what purpose does the meter actually serve at all. Without kindred there is no way for a solo team to know someone is being camped without going to investigate. And in the process of doing that, the meter gets slowed down to a crawl and almost never results in self unhook anyway.
-
It’s going to be a proxy camper’s dream. Hook first person, stand 16 meters away to block all gens, pair with dms to increase the time further, add dead lock in case a gen does get done and of course pain res for the regression (and corrupt for the early game). All this will happen and the person will already almost be to second stage while nothing can be worked on. It’s gonna be awesome!
-
If every survivor would just bring a beefed up toolbox with hyperfocus, stakeout, fast track and built to last, and just focused on gens, 3.5 gens would be done on the first chase. Not only is solo q unorganized, but with pain res in play and tunneling at a premium, the 3v1 becomes nearly impossible. The only counterplay to the strong tunneling meta is if all a urvivors would just commit to actual genrushing every round.
-
Yeah as someone who only plays solo a when I play survivor, it generally feels hopeless unless all 4 survivors are consciously gen rushing and at least 2 people can loop the killer for 60 seconds or more. And by gen rush I mean having builds to support it. Other than that, it’s someone getting tunneled out early and then pain res + pop + jolt etc carrying in a 3v1. I’d love to see updated stats on non swf escape rates.
-
Between 3 genning, Pain Res, Pop, Corrupt, Deadlock, Jolt, Pentimento, overcharge, No Way Out, and tunneling/camping etc, doing anything to increase gen times would make escaping in solo q nearly impossible.
And we really need to stop pretending like M1 killers just lose every game at higher mmr. They don’t. Just ask anyone who mains a m1 killer and considers themselves “high mmr”. I’m willing to guess that their win rate (3k or better) is somewhere near 75%-80%.
-
It doesn’t help against actual face camping either. If you are in solo and don’t have kindred, you will unknowingly slow down the meter. And even if they do get off the hook, they just get tunneled immediately anyway. Now if they get tunneled out quick enough and the killer has pain res/deadlock/nowayout etc, they still get a minimum 2k. Most likely a 3k/4k. There’s a reason why the majority of people camp and tunnel. It’s because it’s consistent. And no matter how many times people say “just get good”, it does not change the fact that camping/tunneling are still just as effective as they’ve ever been.

You could bring Calm Spirit if facing Ultimate Weapon bothers you that much.
But scream notifications are less accurate than auras and lockers are not always in the most convenient spots either.
I ran calm spirit for months straight and my overall opinion is that in solo q, it’s basically useless unless other people have it too. With easy mode tracking enable, your other teammates will most likely die because of UW.
-
@Gabe_Soma said:
Survs have to complete 7/8 gens every game, PR+POP+JOLT is way too strong. This meta needs to be shaken up.
This right here. Solo q is not balanced around having to do that many gens. Now add in if someone gets tunneled out early, it’s virtually impossible to win a lot of the time.
-
Need more context. Was this a tunnel at 5 gens game? Looks like it considering 1 person is dead at 6 hooks and 3 gens left lol.
-
I don’t know why people keep using that false argument that it promotes not tunneling. No it doesn’t lmao. If killer finds someone else, instadown. If killer doesn’t. Just wait for unhook and tunnel.
-
almost every game has some combination of pain res/corrupt/pop/jolt, so on average survivors have to do at least 6 gens if the killer is even half way decent. If gens were any slower, solo q would be virtually unwinnable (already close as it is).

There will be some killers that can use it easier than others. But overall the perk isn't OP or in need of a Nerf. It promotes a healthy playstyle of constantly switching targets and rewards players for doing so with good info or an exposed.
What is “healthy” about getting a one shot for merely playing the game?
-
@Emeal said:
Disagree the perk is created so it makes the Killer not camp, if you cant avoid the Killer for 20 seconds after a hook, then you need to go down in MMR. Come down to my level, We have cookies.
You say this as if there aren’t many killers who can easily get across a map in less than half that time. And that’s assuming you are on the other side of the map when it happens.
-
@Tsulan said:
New perk that actively rewards killers for not tunneling. That gives killers a new target...
How is that a bad thing, that needs to get nerfed?
Not sure why not tunneling should be rewarded with a one shot down. It’s basically bbq on steroids.

What happens more often? Tunneling or gens being done in under 6 minutes. You know why a lot killers tunnel?? I'll let you guess.
I challenge you to do an experiment. Play 10 games and time all of them. Let’s see how many 6 minute games you are really having.

Not every killer hard tunnels at 5 gens and not every killer uses that build so that's a rather dumb argument for a lame and strong as hell perk combo to stay.
What do you think happens more often? Tunneling/camping or someone running ftp/buckle up? As someone who plays both sides, I can tell you one of the answers is not even close.
-
Combo should stay. Really helps against killers who hard tunneling/camping from 5 gens because corrupt, deadlock, nowayout, NOED etc can carry them to a minimum 2k every game against anything less than a 3/4 swf.

And if the Killer doesnt tunnel and the Survivor still uses this combo?
"Because of X (problematic) is in the game, then Y (problematic) should also stay in the game" completely ignores the idea that either thing has a chance of not being present and should not be used for balancing (in my opinion).
Multiple things can be problematic, and they must be looked at independently of one another.
In a pie in the sky world, everything gets addressed at the same time. But that isn’t how this game gets balanced. In most cases it takes years. Tunneling has been an issue since day 1. Let them look at that again before touching the combo.

surely it's only used against tunnelling killers, right?

-
It’s great against tunneling too not just swfs. Until tunnel off hook is made less rewarding, this combo should stay as is.
-
swfs are the only thing keep a check on killers who mostly win by proxy camping/tunneling. solo q is abysmal because of this (I only play solo q).

Shows us this amazing gameplay then, you against a good Blight using his strongest addons.
Exactly. And they should show them doing it in solo q with at least 3 people escaping.
-
@HugTechLover said:
Instead of just giving up, how about trying to learn something from your matches against blight?
Learn some skills and counterplay against him.
To even remotely stand a chance in solo q against a blight, all 4 survivors have to be able to execute said “counterplay” (which there basically is none other than hoping the blight isn’t that good). If the blight is half way decent, you will get slaughtered 98% of the time. I don’t blame them for giving up.

Plot Twist is a perk I use on a regular basis mainly as a way to heal back to full health. Its very time efficient with the speed boost after especially if the Killer is running sloppy butcher so normal self healing is slowed anyway. Combined with a med-kit and the second charge of Plot Twist at endgame, its usually enough that I don't need teammate healing for the entire game.
What I hate more than anything is when I am minding my own business healing with Plot Twist and some random teammate tries to pick me up and I have to fight them just to use my perk. I downed myself on purpose. I don't need or want help. Healing me back to injured is literally a time waste. Please stop. It makes me want to DC.
You don’t have to fight with them. Hold your run button on the ground and then they can’t heal you.

Why be polite to other humans that use methods that are provided by the game... I think that is just a balancing issue and not the problem of those players, you can despise certain playstyle and it would be great if the community as a whole agreed to certain rules but if they don't then the devs need to remove those playstyle if they agree that they are not good for the game, but otherwise those people are just trying to win/play the game with the tools they have and I don't think they can be blamed for that. Both sides have busted things at their hand, I don't see a reason to be impolite there, the most cheesy strategy still deserves a GG, it is not their fault it exists and can be effective, so why be impolite to them?
Hard disagree. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you have to. Yes should the devs address camping/tunneling? Yes. Do players have to face camp/tunnel at 5 gens? No. As such, no ggs.
-
If you are face camping / tunneling at 5 gens, I’m not saying ggs. If there’s nothing good about it, why lie or pretend like sportsmanship matters in this game. It doesn’t. Same thing if a swf genuinely just genrushes, there’s nothing good about it lol. If it’s a good back and forth, then yeah it’s ggs.

I can't remember the last time I had a skull merchant match last more than 5-10 minutes. At least one person immediately gives up in nearly every SM game I get. Then others usually follow. Worst case is the SM gets upset and bleeds everyone out.
They deserve to play against bots and that’s it. If you load up the game with the intention of just holding people hostage for as long as possible, they have no right to get mad when people opt out.

And when they get a killer that gives a challenge they cry and moan lol
I’m going to wager and say you have not played against this multiple times. Because if you had, you’d know: 1. Turrets do almost nothing to players who know what they are doing 2. They almost always have their power which means you are constantly at the mercy of the ridiculous tail hitbox. The tail does not even require much skill or accuracy at all and there is basically no penalty for missing. 3 it is EXTREMELY easy to camp/tunnel because of the tunnel system.
There is no way to defend such limited counter play unless you are just a blindly bias killer main.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The tail attack is fine. The flame turrets aren't weak, there's just a massive difference between survivor teams who use them effectively and survivor teams who barely put them down. Just holding W to the nearest turret will buy you time.
At tiles, drop the pallet. Drop it earlier. Don't wait until you're going to be animation locked in front of the killer to drop it. Don't try to loop something until you're in a lose-lose. And this should go without saying, but don't animation lock yourself in a vault right in front of the killer.
Y’all will really defend anything huh? Anyone who is objective can see that the hitbox is beyond dumb and then add the fact there’s basically no penalty/slowdown for missing. It isn’t balanced and will be changed. Count on it.
-
Until something is done to balance the effectiveness of camping/tunneling, nothing should be done to further slow down gens. All that does is buff the top tier killers and enable camping/tunneling to be even stronger.
-

Anyone that plays 3 gen chess merchant doesn’t deserve to go against human players. They’re not playing it to have fun, they’re playing it to make other people miserable and that’s really all there is to it.
BHVR just needs to killswitch this killer because the game is so much better off without her.
This. If you intentionally load up the game just to hold a 3 gen for as long as possible with SM, you deserve to only play against bots.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
This is just what I've noticed both in my games playing as her as well as in my games playing against her. She often gets a mori early in the game because survivors don't take tapes to prevent it and just let their condemned build up until it's too late. She gets free wins not because she's overpowered but because survivors literally just aren't engaging in her counterplay and it only takes one survivor fully condemned to make the game a 3v1 and drag down the rest of the team.
Anyone else had a similar experience?
I wish all survivors had the mindset that it’s better to get caught with a tape than without it. It’s very easy to pick 2 locations to remember so you always know where to quickly bring your tape (except if she runs that one addon to make it the furthest tv).

@ratcoffee said:
-Increase the base regression speed (so killers who feel gens go too fast are able to slow gens down more effectively in the early game) and re-buff some regression oriented perks like Hex:Ruin
-Give gens a special effect: "For every 5% of progress removed from this generator, gain 1 stack of hardened. The effectiveness of all further regression on this generator is reduced by 5% for every stack of hardened." This should be multiplicitive, meaning when you hit 20 stacks or 100% reduction, it makes it so you need 100% extra regression to be equally effective, not that regression stops working. (this means that a 3 gen can eventually be broken by means of lowering the regression effectiveness on the 3 gen)
-Hardened applies after all regression, so for example your first stack of pain res would apply a full 25% gen damage, then add 5 stacks of Hardened
-Hardened is based on actual regression, not pre-mitigation regression (and is based on a per-generator basis, so you are rewarded for pressuring multiple generators rather than sticking to one or two)
Nothing should be done to further slow gens down because all that does is help top tier killers and tunnelers/campers. Sure is it garbage when a very coordinated swf blows through gens in under 5 minutes? Yep. But this isn’t what happens in the overwhelming majority of games.

Honestly same and EVERY SINGLE F WRAITH TUNNELS OFF HOOK IMMEDIATELY
Yeah it's mostly this. If it's a sloppy butcher wraith, the match you usually goes as follows: hits 3 people, downs and hooks 1, camps while others are healing, tunnel as soon as save is made. Rinse repeat.
