Okay I'm being disrespectful by pointing out disrespect in the community. Makes sense, GG. I bet you are one of the worst people in post game chat

Any killer who can nullify loops will inevitably be called OPI think that is because looping is literally all a survivor has. I mean, what can a survivor do? Not like we can fight back. Not like we can outrun most killers. Juking through looping is literally a survivor's only avenue of escape. If THAT pisses you off, I don't know what to tell you.

If 2 gens are done and 3 survivors are dead, hatch is open for the last survivor. It's kinda unfair because if the killer killed others while only 2 gens got done, he deserves the 4th kill.
He doesn't "deserve" any kill. And again, the survivor still has to find the hatch in the first place. If there's only one survivor left (this happened to me when I played as survivor yesterday), you could sit and patrol the hatch yourself.
-
I've had one single game vs the hag. I was shocked with how fast she rekt all of us, and really confused as just how one is to counter her. From a new players perspective, she definitely FEELS OP, but I also realize it may be that I just don't know how to counterplay her.

This survivor (I am on ps4 and I don’t know if the reports work, I have their name in case devs want to handle this) literally held my game hostage trying to get me to quit (and at the very least distracted) using an exploit by going on top of a rock on a hill I could not get to as killer.“But Pemberley they probably were stuck in the map!”
Nope. If their taunts weren’t enough, I actually managed to hit them and they deliberately scooted further onto the rock to self care themselves. It wasn’t until I killed their buddy and they were the last ones I SOMEHOW managed to get to them. They are the only survivor I have ever taunted the hatch with, and repeatedly hit on the hook.
I have pictures. For some reason the post button hides when I upload them. I will try editing them in.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that survivors who act like this is why killers get extremely fed up.
Y'all don't have to take it out on those that don't.

I'm trying to play a balance of both. I've been playing survivor more the last day or so, buuuuuut, I also have been playing killer here and there. Not sure if I really want to "main" anyone. I like both roles.

Why does this even exist???It's just a free getaway, instead of doing 3 more gens you just escape into the ground.
At least make it so you need to do 1 gen, then escape.
Also the hatch standoffs, do something about it! We can stay there for hours...
I'm not a salty killer, i main survivor and i really want it removed...I was under the impression that the hatch will only appear when enough generators has been powered--so the survivor number plus 1 generators have to be powered for the hatch to appear. That is what I read somewhere, anyway.
If that is the case, for it to even appear for say 2 survivors, 3 gens would need to be done. THEN they have to actually FIND the hatch, which can spawn anywhere there is a palette, from what I read. So its not necessarily a reliable way to escape.

I guess the better way to phrase it, is how the hell does a killer not see you, even if chasing someone? You must hide well

Survivors are supposed to run straight to the hook and give up. Everything else is toxic. 😏
On a serious note most killers (even rank 1s) are trash at the game and thus get mad due to their own incompetence which leads to camp/tunnel games as they are not good enough to actually beat survivors legitimately.I am against camping hooks, I think it's a ######### move, but tunneling? That doesn't bother me. If I can keep the killer's attention long enough for the rest of my team to get gens, I'm okay with it. What pisses ME off is when the killer proceeds to call you a loser because you outplayed them in the chase game. Especially since I'm not generally good at chases ANYWAY, which is why I semi-purposfully have been playing aggressively the last few matches. I can't learn to evade the killer if I never get chased.
I'm just glad my team used the time to stay on gens instead of derping around.

I'm pretty sure the 4% is a lie. Whenever it goes really downhill for the survivors and I'm having the 4k basically in the pocket -> Kobe. Sometimes even 2 Kobes. And this happens in 95% of my games. No , if anything 4% seems generous. I have not yet personally escaped a hook, nor have I seen any teammates successfully escape a hook. From what I've seen in the games I have played, most people don't even try anymore. It seems to me basically a throwaway mechanic, because it is basically doomed to fail unless you are super, super lucky and if you fail, then that's it. Over.

This is a real issue with DbD, I'm a killer main but me and my friend wanted to play some survivor so I was all the way back at rank 18, which shows you how much I play. Every time there was a toxic survivor and the killer didn't get any kills, one of us will sacrifice ourselves to make the killer feel a little better and then give them tips. Some killers get surprised when they see stuff like that when survivors will stay behind in chat to either give props to the killer or give them tips.
Now THAT is someone who will keep new players playing. I don't expect people to sacrifice themselves just because I didn't get any kills--but if a survivor is "good" enough to teabag every chance they get, then they are good enough to give the obvious new player some tips to improve their game. Way to go, THIS is the kind of player we need in the DbD community!

And no DCs when playing Legion... I guess you got lucky there. I rarely get a match where a Survivor does not DC vs Legion or kills himself on the hook. Which is quite bad for me, because I am usually on the Survivor Side when a Legion is involved. If you don't want that implication, then don't give the impression you are sarcastically poking at someone for playing a character. Seriously. Why bother camping a hook after you get a survivor? For one, while your dumbass is camping the hook, other survivors are (or should be) fixing generators and stuff. For 2, it takes away from the "survive" experience. By not giving survivors a chance to actually get free from the hooks, you're taking away the horror movie feel the game is SUPPOSED to have--getting caught, escaping, only to potentially get caught again; that is a horror movie staple. It's part of the FUN.And by hook camping, you are taking away that fun. I don't see what the [BAD WORD] possible gain the killer gets from hook camping. Are these guys just tryhards with nothing better to do than to swell their e-peens?

Read the link I sent you it should take roughly 96 hours to get almost 26k shards what's a char every 34 hours or so.
I'll check it out, I am no doubt not playing optimally--like I said, took me over 10 hours just to make a couple hundred shards.
I was going by the rate at which I got the couple hundred shards I have. Doing the math, it would take me 26 10 hour sessions to get just under 9,000 shards--hence the 260 mark.

To be honest, this is just whining. Nothing more.If we look at all of the DLCs where People have to pay money, except for DS and BBQ, no Perk is really needed for the game (DS also not, but dont want to start a discussion here).
And when I look at BBQ... The DLC cost even less than all of the other DLCs. Who does not want to pay those few bucks for one of the best Perks in the game should at least stop whining about not having it.
Other Perks can be bought via Shards. E.g. Ruin is in the Shrine right now, and even if not, the Hag is buyable via Shards.
The point seems to be going over your head.
Not one guide have I watched on youtube that has not named an entire perk loadout that is exclusively DLC perks. Which means you have to pay to get them--or grind for around 260 hours to unlock one single killer to get them. Or, I suppose, hope RNGesus is with you in the shrine. That is not okay, for any game.
Since you CAN get most of these perks via grinding shards, I will concede it's not quite as bad as I thought it was, but it is still quite the pay for STRONG advantage, and you cannot deny that one.

SIlentCetra said:I don't either. I'll give you an example on what I am okay with: For Honor.
I love and hate this game. But one thing I feel they do RIGHT is their microtransactions. If you aren't familiar with the game, you unlock other characters with steel, and they usually cost around 15k steel. You get steel not just on leveling up, but through completing daily objectives, as well as a little bit every match depending on how well you do.
It is perfectly possible to be able to unlock a new hero with about a week of gameplay, provided you save your steel to unlock the DLC characters and not on cosmetics. I am okay with this. You still have to work to get what you want, but it's not like you have to play the game for months on end before getting enough to unlock X character.
So far, the only time I've seen shards is leveling up. I have about 380 and you start with 40. So in 2 days of playing several hours (time I won't have once my leave is over) I have made 340 in about 10 hours give or take.
It costs 9,000 shards to unlock one character. So if it takes 10 hours to get roughly 340 points, to get 9,000 would take an astonishing 26 10 hour sessions or 260 hours of gameplay. To unlock ONE character.
That is a ridiculous, almost freemium MMO level of grind. It's too much imo.
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Player_Level
Check the above for information on how you earn shards, you get bonuses towards yoir level for how well you do in around not to mention the 300xp toward a it for the first game of a new day bonus.
This game is a grinding game, just look at all the characters you can use and how long it takes to lvl each one up to get all the available perks or even just the ones you want.
Those who wish to keep playing are rewarded with free characters, it seems your issue has changed from p2w and not understanding you could earn things to now it takes too long, well that's the game, you can earn a few chars on the grind to lvl 100 or spend it on cosmetics the choice is yours.
If you don't like grinding games maybe this one isn't for you but they aren't going to hand everything out for free instantly as it's a business afterall and nothing is ever needed they are all optimal extras.
For honor only changed as the game was losing players and they had a boycott and some still complain it's not enough, you can also buy steel pretty much like the dlc in this game, you will never kerp everyone happy but it has been an age since I saw a post like this so the vast majority are happy.
As I said, I didn't realize there was a shrine where you can POTENTIALLY get those perks. Still, apparently it is complete RNG and you may never see one of them at all.

I got 12K that match because they have no empathy towards other people. Completely agree. I am new, so I am playing at lower ranks, and even down here you see this crap. A few matches ago, I got an early kill, and as soon as the first survivor died, the 3 others all disconnected. Was literally a match under 3 minutes, because she was hooked, got rescued, I went to hit the person doing the rescuing, hit the one initially hooked--so I just hung her back up, chased the rescuer--and nobody else went for the hooked girl.
So she died an early death, and everyone just left.
Lots of babyragers in this game it seems.

It is a paywall but considering the game is pretty cheap and the DLCs are fairly priced along with going on sale lots of times, I'd give this game an exception.
Besides, the only characters that are truly locked behind a paywall are licensed characters like Myers or Freddy, which pretty fair since the devs paid quite a bit of money to the movie owners to have them in game. Other original characters like hag or doctor can be bought with shards that you earn by simply playing the game.
You earn a ridiculously small amount of shards and they literally cost thousands of them to get.
I mean I don't expect to get locked content in a game on a silver platter. If you truly enjoy the game and spend some time on it, the shards will come flowing in. I bought all non-licensed killers except for spirit with shards and I never felt the grind being a pain in the ass anymore than other games. The amount of shards you get increase the more you level up. You get about 46,635 shards in total from level 1-100.
The grind needs to be hard to unlock content for free in order to incentivize purchasing with real money. Because you know, the developers have bills to pay and lives to live.

As killer some hits are seriously triggering. When someone slow vaults the killer shack window from the outside for example, your lunge for some odd reason goes right past them and smacks the wall. I don't rely on auto aim to do anything here but I try to lunge straight forward at the same time as trying to turn around and smack them without hitting the wall along the way. Also, I've been getting tons of hits through windows and I can tell the survivor is getting stuck for a bit and it's even worse if they have high ping. Hits through pallets are almost impossible and there's no point in swinging unless you have spirit fury.laughs in nurse

That is pretty damn uncool to be honest. I remember when Battlefront tried to be blatantly P2W. The backlash was so bad that EA was forced to rework their entire system.
Probably too late for something like this to happen here, but Christ, seeing this crap in more and more games is enough to make one reconsider gaming as a hobby!
-
I can't help but wonder...why not just make a 4 stack of friends queue separately from those on solo? That would solve the problem right there. Give a boost to BP to incentivize killers to queue for the SWF option. Maybe, and this probably won't happen, because these devs are obviously money hungry (even moreso than EA), but give a small amount of premium currency that can be used to buy new killers IF said killer wins one of these matches. That would draw some killers to play SWF, allow those who want to play with friends to be able to do so, and just all around make a better experience for everyone.
On another note altogether. why the HELL are vital perks like BBQ Chili locked behind paywalls? That is beyond frustrating, because those of us who can't afford or don't want to support this idiotic world of microtransactions after paying full goddamn price for a game, can't have proper loadouts. Seriously, this is some EA level crap-they tried this ######### with BF2 and it backfired BADLY. Why does the DBD community let the devs get away with it?

Teabagging / taunting, flashlights triggering or even just looping can sometimes lead to unpleasant reactions. Those things don't really require special skill.
For Leatherfaces, simply using a specific character can lead to camping because they want your face mask, especially Jakes and Dwights are often targeted for that reason.
Or maybe you've been a dick to them in a previous match and they remember you... :P
Nah. I never teabag, it's disrespectful as hell and I hate it when people do that ######### to me (LOOKIN AT YOU SIEGE!). And like I said, I'm new, so there's nobody to remember me for doing something lol. But if someone seriously takes offense at something so trivial, you have to wonder at their mindset, tbh.

WOW. I JUST got out of a match where 3 people quit as soon as I killed the first person.
######### babies. Seriously, if it weren't unreasonable, I would say ######### ban these punks right off.

1st offense: 30 min ban/-500 BP
2nd offense: 1 hour ban/-750 BP
3rd offense: 1 week ban/-1000 BP
People would knock that crap off REAL fast.
Definitely all for being that level of strict with it, BUT, there would have to be some sort of way to distinguish who is DCing out of frustration/trolling and those who have been dropped because of ######### internet/game crashes/ect.
Yes though, that level of punishment is absolutely necessary. Can report them, but as we know that still isn't doing #########.
idk how they do it, but For Honor knows if you just drop vs alt+F4ing or quitting the match. So it CAN be done. They could still get around it by unplugging their router or modem buuuut, that is an extra step I feel few are willing to do, especially with how long it takes routers and modems to reconnect. Little is more annoying than waiting for all the flashy lights to start flashing again

The joy is to kill you.Every Killer likes to get rid of annoying Survivors and camping is the best way to secure that kill. It's very personal at that point, at least for me.
When I camp or tunnel you, you somehow triggered me.
How could I, a freakin noob to the game, POSSIBLY trigger a seasoned killer tho? I mean I get out of revenge for being a dick, but really?

OH, and since I can't edit post, let me add this--if they do that ######### 3 consecutive weeks, perma ban their asses.

There is no joy in camping the hook. It is just a thing that some people do to grief you. I'll camp you if your team has powered the gate and opened the door. If the door is closed i won't bother with the extra hassle of camping. Once that door opens. We're gonna wave bye to your friends together if need be. Though, usually I've got the kills I need to score well and if someone escapes its fine.heh I just had the WORST game ever. Trying out nurse, and she is a lot of fun, buuut....Every survivor seemed stupidly well coordinated. Got a few hits in, but they literally got all the gens inside of a few minutes. One of them was even ######### with me by running out of the exit zone, juking, going back into the exit. ugh.
I can kinda see why there is actual hate between killers and survivors lol

Because it's fun to kill salty players like you.
Perfect example of the toxic portion of the playerbase, thanks

Allows you to gather your thoughts while keeping survivors at bay. Isn’t that the equivalent of asking what one finds enjoyable about looping? Not even close, because looping involves constantly moving and one mistake, it's over. With camping, what can you do? ESPECIALLY if your team doesn't take that queue to go for gens? So no, it is not even remotely the same. Also, most killers have some way of countering "looping" anyway, usually with a special ability like the Huntress with her throwing axes.
