I think Haddonfield, coldwind and borgo need help. such pretty maps ruined by bad balance
-
I think it's this map and haddonfield are so bad, I don't think it's the killers issue but the maps being really over nerfed. it's tragic.

I think with all the changes coming to survivor some of the lower end killers can use a bump to keep up with the times. Seems fair. I think there’s always ways you can alleviate whether it’s just adding something in for them or just a buff to numbers to help out.
Trapper should start with all his traps for one unless he’s using the reset addons. I saw someone say he should be able to throw traps, I think that’s a fun idea.
Hag decrease on teleport time, buff her ms a little bit
That’s just off the top of my head.
Stealth killers ms buff when not in chase
Yess, let's let everyone have fun <3

Then we'll have to nerf pretty much every meta survivor perk into the ground.
nah we lost dead hard, that's enough its just ghoul who is zzzzzzzz anti thesis to this game
anyways who are you you dont soun like you play both sides -

the people who play this game are awesome -
this is with the abandon glitch idk, I just never escape LOL

Top killers can't be nerfed without nerfing the things top teams use to beat them, which would have catastrophic effects on the playerbase as a whole. You think survivor feels bad now? Imagine everything you hate about the role but 10x worse now because you wanted to nerf killers that are rare to face to begin with.
Moreover, Nurse and Blight are so disproportionately strong because they have actual map pressure and time efficiency baked into their kits. Other killers do not, and that's the root of the problem. No matter how much you buff certain killers, they won't ever be good because their powers don't fit into the game correctly. The only killer not commonly considered S tier that could compete with Nurse/Blight levels of viability is Hag, but she's more map dependent and therefore less consistent than those two.
Variety in dbd exists because "high MMR" is really just a soft cap that everyone and their mother reached when it was added to the game to begin with, so everyone is technically the same rank and there's no matchmaking. I don't care how good you say you are, no one is facing constant cracked Nurses or SWF teams. This game simply doesn't have the matchmaking for that to happen. That's why you see such long winstreaks and high killrates from good killers. I can count on one hand the number of times I've faced a good team in the past two YEARS. It's rare, because this game has a large playerbase and there's nothing to make good players face other good players.
TLDR: Nerfing strong killers is a waste of time because it will only hurt player numbers, buffing weak killers is a waste of time because it'll never make them strong unless you break something big, and no one is actually affected by this so-called "lack of variety" because there's no matchmaking system to speak of.
No they need destroyed, such boring gameplay. It's not fair and they need to come down and low tier killers come up.
boring utter bad gameplay design that makes me hate this game -
When I play current Skull Merchant, I run anti pallet/window builds and just throw down the drone in annoying spots in loops. I only really have issue againsnt people who hold W, in maps with connecting loops.
I feel when you are set up the information and the presence of your drones at loops can make survivors slip but for some easier hits.
Thought a lot of it is relying on people not knowing how to deal with her. A good group is always going to be strong and difficult to deal with. -
Why did you rage quit? Are you not having fun? Maybe you should take a break lol
-
She looks great, now if we could just get some fancy legs to go with them~
-
Apparantley ghoul can move faster than intended by holding two directional buttons just as a leap starts. If this is true, that's even more I hate about this killer, it's actually making me never want to play this game knowing I might be matched against them.
Who tf finds this fun?! -

I understand why you want a perk like this, though a cleanse perk can potentially become a big problem.
For example, let's say a killer gets added that applies blind as part of its power, similar to Freddy Oblivious.... if you add a cleanse blind perk, then you have a perk that directly counters such a killers power.
Even if you target perks only, a cleanse is an instant recovery, that completely hard counters all status killer perks. Think of the issues that Lightborn has for Survivor, 1 perk has the capacity to render a significant portion of your build immediately useless. Hard counters should be avoided wherever possible IMO.
But its one or the other, I'm sorry but the moment they change vigil to not cleanseis the day this game is utterly dead to me.
Dramatic, maybe, I'm just tired of more and more and more and more being taken from me.
I don't see vigil often tbf, I'm usually one of the only ones using it in a lobby, is it powerful? Yes, does it carry games? No.For the record these are WITH the abandon escape rate inflation in mind. Your status effects aren't being outright countered, they are just being mitigated, something that takes a perk slot to do so and doesnt even remove them entirely.
So no I don't think it's game breaking. Status effects still cause me to go down, and I think you should use the perk more and see for yourself. -
I'd be for this if they gave me a cleanse perk as a healer that lets me remove a debuff from myself or others, or an item.
As it stands right now Vigil is the only answer to these sorts of builds, it looked like Wicked was going to be the answer to it but they changed it. -

Maybe reversing the awful timer change?
This singular change made most mangled and hemorrhage add-ons worthless, and even sloppy butcher isn't all that good rn.
So the only remaining "decent" thing that gives you these effects is SH: Gift Of Pain.
I disagree, on survivor side I still feel their impact on a match, it's just not permanent and nor should it be.

I disagree. They're trying very hard to balance the game around Solo Queue while letting SWFs get more and more broken.
While it's true changes have been made to help Solo Q, said changes have not made SWF's more broken lol if anything they've been slowly reducing the disparity and it's showing rn that survivor is not in a great place over all on the casual side of things.
Not every SWF is some esports competing for wendy's gift card squadrons. -

Yeah I understand your point, but I just can't resolve that the extra speed argument on any perk is always moot point, because the difference is only 2.667s additional over BK, compared to the 5.333s value that BK already gives... and BK works in every scenario.
So then you have to go to secondary effects... and every effect falls short compared to the fact that BK also saves a whopping 8 seconds on medkit self healing, and frees up a whole extra players hands for the 16s duration... thats 16s of value from a medkit+ BK. This effect is good enough to be a perk on its own, and yet BK gives a significant portion of other perks value with no set-up, cooldowns of conditions whatsoever. Remember no self healing exists for all these other perks... so I'm just gonna say NoSH as a reminder.
We'll Make It is the big loser, cause it only grants an additional ⅓ of the value of BK, despite being conditional and having a time limit. Totally shut down by slugging or SoloQ hooking too fast... and NoSH.
We're Gonna Live Forever is a contender, because the endurance effect is a valuable effect that Bktany cannot conpere with... but is reliant on the killer to slug for value, whereas Botany's value is almost always gonna be there getting value no matter what strategy the killer employs short of tunneling the BK player (and even the a syringe can do huge work).NoSH.
Circle of Healing is far to restrictive, take 14s to set up, however much time to run to the boon, then again, only saving 2.667s over BK and can be snuffed. Totally pointless to run this perk, especially since COH is a NoSH perk.
Do No Harm is no value on no hook stage, equal value on first hook stage, and again only the same 2.667s value on the second hook stage. The net overall healing time over the game is still longer than Botany in practically all scenarios.... and once again, NoSH.
Desperate Measures, requires multiple injures teammates 3/4 of them to see the same value. Unhook speed is nice but really other than making a trade easier when injured, it's just not got an effect that rivals the consistency of Botany. Though this one does have self healing though; DoSH.
Empathic Connection has a decent percentage of the value of Botany at 11.85s compared to BKs 10.667s, and is similarly unconditional. The aura effect is actually decent here to create and good value trade off... though NoSH strike again. The self heal speed is a major head and shoulders value advantage.
This is why I can't take the argument that other perks have their own value particularly seriously... the value of Botany is so consistent and universally applicable, that the value of it trumps everything.
but a nerf to botany back to the way it was would again not change speeds, all you have to do to get a full self heal is add a bandage on (brown add on btw).
putting the efficiency back on literally changes nothing, people can heal fast with do no harm and we'll make it, both useful throughout the match with not much of a condition needed.
honestly I'd personally prefer old Self care and botany back from before 6.1.0, with how different the game is I don't see an issue with it. Med kits are weaker now, and recent killers are stronger than ever.
I still to this day hate 6.1.0 (still awaiting calm spirit to be fixed) -

SWF give you options, you can talk about builds, you can make call outs, you can simply gather decent players who will not DC on you.
If you use those tools or not is on you, but for most things you have the option. I don't believe every SWF is making clock system call outs.
Escape rate was not that much higher, but it was definetly higher. Thing is SWF are simply more altrustic and will often throw games in end game. I would like to see average gen completion instead of just escapes.-We need the visuals improved
sure, not a balancing change
Current event gives survivors nothing on the caliber of remote hook/remote pallet break
It's not like we never had survivor sided events… and this is also last year of this one
We are only JUST recieving a new item 9 years in
Well, you are recieving one, so I fail to see the issue. It's not like every killer get changed regularly…
every new perk concept barely gets any love/meaningful new additions
I would say killers have it same or worse, so fail to see how it is connected to survivors, or you mean in general?
every event is ruined by some stupid killer combo allowed
Well, not all games are full SWF and not all games are abusing killer. If you want to use that as argument, then both are valid. Is it an issue, if it's not majority or not?
MMR is encouraging terrible playstyles
Not really, it's not something you see, it only makes you games worse. I see MMR more as a punishment than reward…
Idk saying one set of players can't have an opinion is an awful take.
They are free to have opinion, but they have options soloQ doesn't, so if they lose, it's kinda skill issue imo.
I have no issue with them to argue about specific killer, perk, or addon.
But I simply think current SWF vs killers balance does not need change. I would say soloQ does and few specific killers.Instead of arguing and trying to nullify someones opinion, listening is okay too. A lot of this is why I don't play as much right now and my friends.
It's not about justifying you as killer, you're playing lots and are happy. You're just trying to say people's opinions aren't valid.
My points aren't necessarily aimed at you but in reference to the thread in general as to why survivors are playing less. I personally want to play more killer but as OP states, EU killer queue times are annoying when I have time to play. We seem to be more aware than the other regions over the state of the current balance. -
@PetTheDoggo said:
I don't think SWF has any right to complain, but I would definetly welcome some buffs focused on soloQ QoL.
SWF's do, not every SWF is a try hard comp team, plus the official stats make it clear it's not a terribly huge advantage in the wider scope of things. Not to mention not everything thats off putting about this game is balance related.
Survivors in general need listened to right now:
-We need the visuals improved (animations/terrible shoulder rigs etc) lets look at how lazy they did the DS animation, or the new Springtrap axe removal. It looks awful.
-Current event gives survivors nothing on the caliber of remote hook/remote pallet break
-We are only JUST recieving a new item 9 years in
-every new perk concept barely gets any love/meaningful new additions (Boons/Invocations/Teamwork)
-every event is ruined by some stupid killer combo allowed (Lights out Legion, lights out would have been so much better if killers couldnt use powers and operated more like skins with an event specific power like survivors)
-MMR is encouraging terrible playstyles
Idk saying one set of players can't have an opinion is an awful take. -
I'm a Botany main since the game came out, always used Claudettes perks to help and heal others, nothings changed other than I can use my medkit more to heal others, I did this anyways (Always bring bandage + butterfly tape which guarantees me 1 self heal if I need it BEFORE THE BUFF), but often I'd use it for healing others.
All they did is make the perk have more synergy/quality of life, you know.. as a healing perk should have. Healing speeds havn't changed, if you want to blame anything, blame the other healing perks lol
even if you nerfed Botany Knowledge with the downside, healing speeds would be the same. It's people who don't play survivor with this opinion I feel -
this would be nice, I'd love to see where I went wrong without waiting for the match to end.
-
I think Xenomorph is probably one of the more balanced killers out right now
-
I like your idea!
it's a fun idea, I just don't care for floating sable with a mask and the high pitched voice, the designs a bit uninspired. Cool concept, awful execution, much like all of the twisted masquerade. That's just my opinion of the character tho
Would love more event hosts/lore characters though. -
NGL my recent stats are awful but it's hillarious I play a lot with friends, I am a really altruistic player, and try to help others and it often gets me killed first:
As for killer I've only played 2 matches while drunk, coz I can't stand the queue times as much as I want to play it more was a 4k and a 2k but I let the Geralt go coz Geralt is handsome.

Yeah, custom games unlocks all perks and add ons, but would be nice if we could use all killers.
The reason I would suggest it be at least put into Learn To Play is because there's paid/licenced content, so it would be a nice compromise where people can't benefit from it, in competitive games, but still get to try characters so they get a chance to choose who to buy, should they only have the option to buy maybe 1 DLC at the time. Watching videos and getting other people's opinions is all well and good, but different people play different so hopefully it's something they consider.
yeah idk why killers arent available

Yess, I voted for that too actually! I thought about Apocalyptic survivor but then I remembered we have Gabriel.
We are yet to have a full fantasy character who isn't just a human (unlicensed), so an elf or a beastman/woman even would be fun -
probably removed it so they could gaslight us about Ghoul as per usual.
-
@killer_hugs said:
i mean it's obvious that BHVR has been gaslighting us around this issue
we know survivors d/c at high rates. these games are often 3/4ks for killers.
we also know that BHVR removes these games from their stat totals
they tell us averages but they don't tell us is what we really want to know - just how effective are the best killer players in the game?
we can watch twitch and see it for ourselves. lillithomen loses maybe 1 game with blight per 1000 games. onepumpwilly just goes on a 210+ winstreak with trapper. at the very top of the game the best killer players are just rampaging and feasting >99% of the time and it's clear. when the ceiling is so high that you basically can't lose if you know how to play it does show just how poorly balanced the game really is.
Literally, and nothing has been done to prevent such snowballing from being performed, the QoL changes solve nothing when it comes to the S Tiers or the like, as their skill ceiling is still there to be used.
I really wonder who they listen to at all. -
Ghoul deleted, would be amazing
-
I feel rn there are a lot of killers whose time to kill is way too fast and getting around the map is way too fast, survivors are adapting by focusing only on objective and not engaging in altruism, because there is just no point, it's a lot harder now, especially this event where sabo just doesn't do anything.
It's making the game not so great on both sides tbh, they are really failing the playerbase ever since they conditioned people to focus on "Wins" when it came to MMR. I honestly think that was more toxic to the game than anything else.
If this is what they want, they need to make the game more forgiving. -
@Barboron said:
As the 'Learn To Play' feature in the game is a solo experience and is there, as the name suggests, to allow people to learn, this feature should be expanded to allow people to use all killers without the requirement to unlocking them, to allow a try before you buy type scenario.
It would give people an opportunity to try different builds if all perks were also unlocked, and possibly having an infinite supply of all loadout items. All strictly for the 'Learn To Play'.
I'm pretty sure you can do this in custom games, or am I wrong? for perks at least
-
I really just want a radius increase, I like the perks it'd just be nice if they were more useable on bad totem spawns.

This patch and event has conditioned players to just slam gens and leave with all the initial changed to the AFK system, all the nerfs to altruism over the years, since the killer powers are really strong especially when paired with on hook perks.
if we want to slow gens down, Behaviour need to make interacting with killers more fun, and legion is one of those uninteractive ones (not strong, just not a lot of interaction playing against them). -

i mean if you feel that way then continue to watch me hit control on my keyboard for 4 minutes
like this is not the same thing at all lmfao. slugging is annoying but i don't find it toxic. it completely changes gameplay. hitting crouch as a survivor literally does nothing. not once have i ever went to the forums and ask the devs to eliminate a control on the keyboard because it hurt my feelings.
Literally, killer players are acting like its stopping them from hitting the survivors. I think those in here need to be slugged for their full duration and see just how different it is, queueing up for a match and then being faced with that then told in endgame chat it's because of your name/character/charms.
Meanwhile on Killer, you just played a FULL match and got beat, and all you need to do to end is slap them out, speaking as a killer player also here. Wake up, people can outplay you, it's okay, the game isn't always winnable, that doesn't make you bad at the game. lol -
Yeah I really don't like it

You can just run Resurgence if you need evidence and no, you don't have to run multiple perks. Resurgence with a medkit. That is it. Obviously it's not gonna be as fast as with botany, still you can have a 4sec/5sec heal. Not to mention your own teammates can have healing perks.

Did you actually read my post? 3sec heal and the survivor is back on track to do the generator, etc. What "less gen pressure" are we here talking about?
3 second heal, is this an exaggeration or do you have evidence, let's not forget the time it takes to get to another survivor and that' they've taken multiple perks to achieve this.
Furthermore I play on EU and don't see this as often as you claim? -
survivors healing more means less gen pressure, that's surely a good thing right? lol

Disagree, the only map I have issues on as Singularity are Lerys and Hawkins, but mainly Lerys. All other maps he is good on.
Fair enough sorry, I'm just saying he is oppressive to go against mainly on some maps, and time and time again he is proven to be a huge issue recently with some content creators creating time wasting builds
-
She doesn't need buffs at this point I feel.
The new TV spawns have literally given her a huge QoL to make her have better pressure with tvs near every gen now more consistently. -
I think if they are to keep a remote hook, we need a self unhook for an invitation, or remote unhook honestly.
-
Alot of maps are not designed around how oppressive Singularities power is, and some maps also screw him over royally too.

I genuinely miss the player mindset the most.
Chase used to be important, and specifically pressuring survivors off gens. Not that tunneling didn't exist, but certainly not to the extent we see today.
Killers used to focus on being in chase as much as possible, to the point where people literally said "gens aren't worth kicking" because the 3s kick animation was a waste of time.
All of that changed with the gen kick and 3 gen metas and all we hear now is that "slowdown is all that matters".
Literally and suggesting a chase build to someone is like insulting their family it feels like lol
