I think I wouldn't have played if the incentive was there survivor side.
Love killer side though, they need to do more for survivor. -
I'd love like either a slightly longer debuff, or a slightly faster CD, like a second at most, that's like my dream QoL for them but otherwise I'm not sure. Maybe slightly larger Blast radius?
I love running unknown device on them for stealth builds with human greed + hoarder + BBQ + Lethal for fun aura reading for getting good shots off.
Really hope they get a slight QoL. -
Give male survivors cake!
-
Good, punish high ping players more IMO

To be fair, this was written nearly a year ago... the squinting is a little easier now xD
And if Alucard can be thrown on a hook, Snake probably can too... though that Snake is not strong beyond that of a normal man... ao I still struggle to see how anyone carries Snake on their shoulder without getting dropped like a bad habit...
Entity buffs will have to be pulling overtime to save killers elbows 🫠
Fair I didn't see the necro, I didn't read the dates whoops!
-
It'd be a fun way to let people know you are streaming, using twitch shirts <3
Plus some of the designs (sables and gabriels) are unique and look good -
I think it's a valid request, but I'd also like the option to hear fellow survivors voicelines as well (like them yelling entering chase etc) too.
I feel both parties could be made happy this way with toggles/volume sliders. -

Yeeeeeeaaaaahhh... much as I love MGS and Solid Snake (and I really love Solid Snake), its a really big stretch to put him in a horror category…
Lara I would say is an adventure series with horror elements, and in the 2013 Tomb Raider there some downright nasty moments that gives it some good clout to push her into the horror world of DBD...
However... Metal Gear is just a totally different beast. Even with the hardest of leans and squints I can't really say Psycho Mantis, the Fear, or anyone of the members of Foxhound or Outer Haven can really push it there... maybe the Sorrow, but even he is not even actual threat in actual game...
Plus... Snake being Snake... I can't really see him getting picked up and thrown on a hook without him CQCing the killer to the floor and breaking an arm... 🤨
Pyscho Mantis, The Fear, The man on fire, the torture chamber, Vamp, the beauty and the beast unit.
There is a lot of horror elements in MGS, just like there is in Tomb Raider.
DBD is a game with a lot stealth and misdirection, something Solid Snake would be perfect for. -
The 2 chapters they have proposed though sound awesoem that are original, so I'm not complaining especially if they use this time to balance and refine existing killers.
I think this is direly needed. -
They should both get new outfits absoloutley, Please BHVR make it happen <3

In my experience, the licenses that I was most expecting for (Chucky and Springtrap) ended up not meeting my expectations. Chucky has a playstyle that I really dislike, being a dash killer with no macro skills, which was a real bummer since he was one of my dream licenses. Springtrap felt underwhelming on the other hand, it isn't like I hate his kit, it is just that I don't see myself playing him instead of Xenomorph. The only licensed killer that made me really pleased was Sadako, as I really wished her to be added and she did not disappoint me.
I end up liking original killers more because I generally don't expect nothing from them, and most of the time they end up surpassing my expectations in the fun department. This has happened since Hag, and gave me gems like Singularity, Unknown, Dredge, Knight, Doctor, Plague, Twins, Skull Merchant (the original one), Spirit, Clown, Houndmaster, and Artist.
that's fair, Nemesis feels kind of underwhelming to play too, I love the zombie idea and the mutation but the tentacle whip is like… so tame? IDK how to explain, I just wish he was more in depth.

On a personal level, I disagree with the Wesker idea. Yes those Tech's make him hard to go against but imo makes him fun for me. The other killers are annoying to face because they are bland, basic and do roughly the same thing. Wesker (and blight) change that up for me and make me actually think.
Fair, I'm just throwing ideas to stick at the wall in this thread due to frustrations mainly. I'm glad people have been talking about it.
-
I like that survivors get a unique interaction at the very least with this killer, that part is probably the biggest plus. Kind of like Xenomorph with the flame turrets.
I've seen people come up with a lot of diverse builds for them thanks to how their kit works, it's just how DBD works at its core.
Another issue I find is how they make a killer unique concept (twins) it's awful for everyone involved, and then they never ever fix it. I guess if they had a more community involved testing process earlier on, we'd be able to avoid this.
I guess they probably want to play it safe with licensed killers? they seem to do most of their unique stuff for original killers (Singularity, Knight, Dredge, Twins, Deathslinger) Maybe there is more but can't think off the top of my head.
I'm just glad it's not another Ghoul situation from what I can see, bad design at its peak. -
I'm so sad the final guest skin went to DnD of all things. I guess all the other licenses were hard to negotiate with or something.
-
I love both, not everyones gonna enjoy licenses they don't care for, which is completley understandable. Same goes for original killers, some miss the mark (twins).
-
She becomes a sable cosmetic, idk lol
-
All I'm disappointed with is, why Aestri and Vecna for the "Guests" there are so many better people to have made cosmetics for.
I guess it was the cheapest/easiest to get, sad. -
I really want this perk buffed and given meaningful attention. Perks are closest thing we get to survivor powers and I'd love to have them be an enticing choice.
Maybe let us spawn multiple having charges? Maybe as OP says make it make our gen noises silent (not the gen itself tho) while active, or totem/chest noises.@Elan said:

Killers with no mobility will waste time going to that illusion, most likely losing enough time to that. While it has minimal impact to mobility killers, so yeah. The perk is more than strong and doesnt need any buffs.
S-Tiers have no weight in any discussion they need nerfed. As for "m1" who are suffering like Skully they need buffed (rework on the way) and that has nothing to do with this perk.

Servers are utter doodoo especially in 2v8 rn, I feel they get worse as a patch progresses then reset when a major patch hits, I wish BHVR would look into why this is.
I'm tired of rubber banding whenever a killer does a major action. Or rubberbanding when I teleport or use my power or spawn apparitions as unknown. -
I feel like the game health rn is more important than new players, if they want new players they should be focusing on the existing killers, but I believe that's the plan this year (Hopefully)
-
Rework Legion too

I would prefer this becoming an official feature, with animation/VFX changes to make it visually clear. If Nemesis does the whip drag, his blue attack VFX should smear on the ground to show how the hitbox is being dragged.
Linger tech/whip dragging allows Nemesis players to do a lot of very cool things, it is not inherently undodgeable/uncounterable (though ofc, it can be, depending on the environment) and it still doesn't put him close to the game's stronger Killers.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3932468#Comment_3932468
This is a perfectly reasonable argument that I might agree with in some other situations- Let's delete this janky exploit from a Killer and reassign their power budget to other areas of their kit, ones which were actually supposed to exist when they were originally designed.
However… What buffs are you gonna replace it with? This is a feature that gives Nemesis much higher skill expression with his whip and is very powerful, without it he would probably drop a full tier in strength so there's a lot of power to be redistributing here. If you're reassigning power budget to zombies, that's taking power away from the human playing the game and giving it to the AI. (and tbh, I know some Survivors complain about finding basekit zombies annoying already) If you're reassigning the power budget to other aspects of the tentacle, I don't see a good way to do that. Faster cancels or faster holding speed equals less interactive zoning, longer range makes Nemmy less distinguishable from ranged killers and makes T3 less meaningful, stronger Hindered is gonna be even more miserable, reducing/removing the effects of Mutation Tiers makes Nemesis less interesting in general, and whatever change is picked, it needs to avoid just making him into a worse Pyramid Head, which he'd be in danger of being with whip drag removed. Barring a rework, idk how you could reassign Nemmy's power budget away from the whip drag while roughly preserving his current power, and in a way that's healthy for his gameplay.
In short, Nemesis either keeps linger tech, or he gets a rocket launcher.
Oh, and re. Xenomorph, I personally feel like hitting a Survivor at the last possible moment of her tail strike is awesome and really, really wouldn't want that removed either. It's the thing that keeps me playing the character, it feels excellent to do and as far as I know isn't as powerful/abusable as Nemesis' equivalent anyway.
See what you propose is fine, if its made an official part of his kit with the readability of it matching it and not just DBD jank. I'd be all for it.
But Nemesis getting more to his toolkit would be nice too getting more polish, either or. Like maybe a sprint or something on a CD. -
Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from the X-Files please

MaTiRoSiTy is correct in the days before dedicated servers the killer was the host. It's the same system still used in custom lobbies, what used to be KYF mode.
To OP they always are reluctant to add or re-add in things that guaranteed will lead to lobby dodging, as that worked up the matchmaking badly. It would be nice to have stronger and more numerous servers to best deal with this problem, but I get why players want to not play those high ping trials.
IDK if killer mcgee can investigate my steam page and ping, I should be able to see their ping.That or the entire lobby needs a rework, or ping needs to punish laggy killers.
-
IDK why people are defending it, Nemesis could get much more meaningful buffs if his kit was consistent and polished.
-
I really want a Head On class, or a Champion of Light class.

I can tell you are not very well versed in the business side of things, which is fine, but there's more to the equation than just making whatever and selling it.
If you are making content for licensed franchises, the license holder is in full control of everything. If they say no, but you put whatever you want in the game anyway, they will revoke your license, send a cease and desist, and take legal action if the terms of their license is not followed.
Look up artificial scarcity. Saving resident evil skins for a potential 3rd DLC release to generate hype is a possibility.
Long story short, just because it wouldn't take a lot of effort to add doesn't mean it is zero effort. There is a cost/benefit analysis that has to be done. Potential sales numbers have to be created, QA testing, etc. That one skin could take an entire month of developer time and resources, a month that could be spent on a new chapter or other more important things.
it's not that deep
-
stun window is really picky but it's still there and the laggy servers dont help
The herbs being gone sucks, especially with Legion and Oni
Fog Crystal is useless for the most part anyways coz of aura reading.
Anti-Camp is gone this iteration too
It's a flop. -
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
Repeating myself but Legion and Oni man… completely ruin 2v8 for me. Legion needs to go and Oni needs to be nerfed if they continue to use him.
I do appreciate not having full slowdown builds in 2v8 and I would love to see a move away from 4 slowdown builds to something more base game. Getting the same gen hit with Pain Res and Surge along with having to wait around for DMS and Grim is a tedious experience it is refreshing not to have in 2v8
But yeah, Legion almost every match is just too much for me
Literally, I can't stand it, it's just snowball gameplay, one mistake and the whole match spirals out of control.

Did you completely ignore my other comments? lol
No? I just don't understand what "License holder says no" (Which we don't know and we keep getting RE and SH stuff etc so that's invalid) has to do with anything. Unless I'm misunderstanding, you kind of typed a lot out.
I love the original chapters too, Unknown is my killer main, but I also love all of the horror IP's that have been added too… I just want more outfits for my favourite characters.
It's as simple as that. -
Yes I feel it's not just him but all of the Silent Hill cosmetics:
Like there is so much they could do to make all of them better

of course we don't care about teh survival horror aspect of the game. this isn't a survival horror game anymore except in the vaguest descriptions. this is a 4v1 competitive multiplayer game. the survival horror part is over inside the first 100 hours or so.
It is still a survival horror game, it's just that part of it needs help… hense the item reworks and chests need more help too.
Not to mention weaker killers need buffed and the S-Tiers nerfed, then everything will be in a healthier spot overall, items SHOULD be useful, just a lot of killers make them not so impactful. -
@NarkoTri1er said:
1v4 soloQ is unfun because you will often have teammates literally griefing instead of actually playing the game.
2v8 as surv is boring because it's too easy and uninteractive
It's really rare someone ever truly griefs, most of the time they just make mistakes and that's okay. The problem is: DBD is an unforgiving game against the strongest killers, and expects an unreasonable amount of knowledge and experience to perform well/counter said killers.
I myself don't care for trying that hard, I play games to have fun, not to win, but I also don't like having all agency taken away from me either. Ghoul does that for me and so does Nurse/Blight (In 1v4). Legion in 2v8 makes any killer they are paired with incredibly annoying to face, they need dealt with, they draw games out, give their partner too much information and make the casual experience hell.
That's my issue rn: 2v8 against the strongest teams is really unforgiving rn, 1v4 against the strongest killers is also really unforgiving.
If we want strong perks/new fun classes/fun events, the strongest killers need dealt with. -
Yeah this has needed to go for ages tbh, it reads awful and makes the game look tacky especially from a survivor perspective it doesnt feel fair at all.
I love nemesis and playing as him, but the skill shot should be that, a callout, but with linger tech it turns into unwinnable situations with survivors limited mobility. -
@pigslittlepet said:
when i play survivor i really don't want people wasting time on chest so i really don't want this to happen. nothing you find except possibly a flashlight that you save with is actually going to be worth it. tool box: the time you take getting it does not replace the time you could have been on a gen. medkit: healing is normally a waste of time anyway. gens gens gens. keys: umm. no. just no. i'm not saying their aren't exceptions to the rule. there are of course. but by and large chests are just a waste of time so adding more makes the killer side of me extremely happy. yes, go little survivors. open the chests and waste your time while i down your friends and no gen progress gets made. but the survivor side of me begs them not to do this.
I disagree, medkits help me heal others faster or save myself when no one else can, toolboxes can let me break a hook nearby my while I work on a gen/make a gens last part of progress go faster if pain res or I feel regression is coming. Maps and Keys are going to be really useful soon too and then there is the new survivor item that's coming.
I get loads of value out of 2v8's chests for example, the main issue is keys and maps rn.
So please add more chests, naysayers don't care for the survival horror aspect of this game, I'd love more item management and ways to adapt gameplay mid match. -
Honestly I think there should be more chests on the map baseline, it would make running killer item builds more enticing.
-
@Neaxolotl said:
Same as boons, invocation or boon shouldn't actually be "great perk" like at all
Disagree, we need more variety and fun builds to play. I think Boons are fun to use, small changes like increased radius/faster bless times would go a long way without breaking them heavily.
-
Honestly if anything boons should be faster to put up if they are gonna be left unchanged. I really love the perk concept for survivor, but it takes time.
Bring thrill/hex builds if you wanna counter boons, they take forever to put up with that, I suppose you could also bring pentimento with Shattered Hope… If it was made baseline, it'd be VERY annoying. So no, I don't think baseline boon breaking would be healthy. -
@Volcz said:
IDK man, I'll take Legion over Ghoul right now. Legion doesn't have any crazy unfair mech, he's just annoying & you gotta accept that you'll be mending a lot.
Ghoul is broken, has unfair mech, can apply deep wound from the other side of a vault/window, vault it (while you're frozen from the stun) and then immediately down you.
I mean Legion in 2v8, to be clear, I agree with you re 1v4
-
@Caiman said:
It feels bad on both sides in regular mode. Play survivor, get thrown against the S-tier killers playing like their life depends on it. Play killer, almost every match is toxic SWF squads and TTVs being as abusive as possible. I feel like I'm working a customer service job: constant antagonism for mediocre rewards and no meaningful progression.
Yeah this is it literally, like I'm definately not saying killer doesn't have issues either, it does, the matchmaking is so stinky and it's backfilling/long queues causing that too.
-
Hopefully when they bring them back if they do, they also bring back the unqiue mobile outfits
That Yui hair would also be so cute unlinked to wear on different outfits. -
@ad19970 said:
I have actually been enjoying solo queue quite a bit the last days. Had a lot of great matches.
But for me the biggest issue is still tunneling and camping. Matches against killers that use these tactics just aren't very fun at all. And I still had some of those the last days as well.
I haven't gone against Ghoul often enough yet to be annoyed by him however. But so far I don't hate going against him, though I also don't love going against him.
I'm not saying I dont have good matches, it's mainly when these two are involved and it's VERY often on my servers, or I'm just having bad luck at the time of which I play.
-
@Nicholas said:
I don't touch 2v8; it seems few do because mine always offers a 300% bonus. You're right, The Legion is super annoying, but I have other issues with the mode that make it unfun. I would play The Killer, but queue times are insane.
Agreed and I feel more needs looked at on the survivor side in future to make it more enticing to play, it feels really odd they are ignoring the survivor experience to the point its painfully evident, the fog crystals don't even hide auras which is a huge oversight for example.
IDK, I'm thinking back to lights out where Legion ruined that too. -

His strenght should be compensated by having a weaker/ harder anti loop, ghoul does not need enrage vault this strong when he , like you said, already has insane mobility and and a free injure
I can agree with that, I do think the character could easily be kept in tact whilst making them fun to play against. It just needs time and care put into the changes, something I hope BHVR can do down the line.
Or rather, your opinions and love of the character make me believe there is a way to make you happy while those who play against him happy. -
I like 2v8 but this iteration feels much less forgiving, with Legion capitalising on randoms to Oni always being in power and with no herbs etc to allow people to bounce back or anti camp for that matter.
I love this mode but the focus needs to stay on how casual friendly it is, and Legion cannot exist as they are for that reason. -
I just dislike the vault speed and the first hit bs that can happen, and how quick they can get about the map.
-

Ghostie is already a super weak killer. It's frustrating that they changed his reveal mechanic a while back that allows survivors to reveal him through solid walls and even sometimes when looking in the opposite direction from him. He needs buffs, and the whole revealing when not in line of sight needs fixing.
thats more to do with the ######### servers, like I'm not kidding the difference between the reveal on survivor side to the reveal on killer side is like night and day.

IDK I much dislike Legion over any other killer tbh

They did say in an AMA on Reddit that making Legendaries able to have alternate outfits and even their own portraits is something they want to do, and the changes to the selection screen is a step in that direction, but no actual time frame on when it might happen.
Funny enough, one Legendary actually does have their own portrait, it's just… unused. But if you know where to look in your game folders, its there. James Sunderland. In fact, you don't even need to own him or the Silent Hill Chapter for his portrait to be in the game files.Thank you this is the clarification I was after exactly, it gives me hope <3 Thanks for the insight.
Also that's interesting re james!
