Those maps are all in the mid range for size and they're fine. The tile layouts on some could use some tweaks. Cowshed usually has too many strong tiles and Sanctum has too many deadzones, for example.
We don't need every map to be midwich.
-
Occasional scuffed hits through pallets/dead hard were less of an issue than the false hits killers are dealing with now.
-
They shouldn't change him yet. Give survivors time to adapt to some of the preferred tactics of Pinhead players.
Guess it's going back to wraith, blight, nurse, and camping bubba for my survivor matches....
Or I'll just play something else since escape-based matchmaking is terrible and my survivor queues are longer than the actual matches.
-
Let killers use them year round. They're fun and not unbalanced.
-
This is clearly not Otz
-
For them to admit escape-based matchmaking was a disaster, they would have to admit to wasting 2 years of dev resources on a failed project. I imagine some heads would roll over such an admission.
Easier to just sweep the mmr ratings under the rug/ui so we have no indication whether the system is functional and call it a pretty good job.
-
When the devs use dailies and rift challenges to tempt me to play killer after mmr, boon totems, and multiple nerfs.
-
I always get that Mikaela that blesses another totem when the killer hasn't even snuffed the first one.
Tell me you want us all to die without telling me you want us all to die...
-
She requires an outsized amount of effort to achieve a skill ceiling of mediocre results against decent survivors. Just play Bubba or Demo if you want to force survivors to pre-drop and plow through pallets.
-
It's been a dumpster fire for me as well. Solo queue wasn't great under the emblem system but its much worse with escape-based matchmaking.

I won't get her unless they do. At least I am happy with how Jill and Leon turned out.
Not a fan of how Chris looks like tho lol.
Well done not giving them the benefit of the doubt like I did.
-
Games are just less interesting. Most players go for the "optimal" strats in a given situation, ie camping someone into 2nd stage or leaving a teammate on hook during end game.
On the survivor side, altruism is punished hard by escape-based matchmaking. And it's starting to show in my matches with teammates frequently making no effort to help with end game save situations.
And why should they with the current incentive structure?
"Oh, you went back into the trial to save a teammate and ended up trading your life for theirs? Congratulations, here's 2 urban evading default Neas, and a Mikaela that for some reason keeps blessing totems when the killer hasn't snuffed any of them."
-
I'm pessimistic regarding most things with the devs lately but I would like to be proven wrong.
-
Get out-scroll wheeled nerds
-
Well done on the screenshot comparisons. Hopefully the devs will fix her eventually.
Really poor business practice releasing her for $15 in such a bad state.
-
Something needs to be nerfed about him, whether it's the overperforming add ons, his janky turn exploits/bugs, or (my preference) his stupidly oversized hitbox.
-
If freaking Distortion is capped at 3 uses, so should boon totems. The infinite relighting with no counter is what makes them broken, and goes against the established mechanics of totem perks in a frustrating way for killers. I would say two charges would be fair if they are going to keep the very strong effects of each boon perk.
This would also make it more useful to have multiple survivors running boon perks, as currently it's a waste in most cases.
-
It used to be foggier. I don't know why it was changed but they should revert it.
-
Being tunneled and facecamped gives me migraines
-
If you're playing pyramid head you could try drawing a heart with his power ❤

I’m still mad about what they did to Claire.
Yea I haven't purchased cosmetics since the RE chapter. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I was so sure they would want to do right by the license and not leave her in such a terrible state. 5 months later and not even a simple acknowledgement of "yes we know and we'll fix her at some point"
-
We asked you to fix Claire not Chris dammit

When did I say BNPs or Syringes weren’t problematic? This conversation is specifically about Spirit and her add ons.
You said it needed a big downside with no explanation of why. I brought up other iri add ons that have no downsides. It's ok to have good add ons. And it already has a downside of losing scratch marks, making tracking of iron will users even harder.

MDR increases her movement speed by too much without a big downside. I don’t want to have to keep repeating myself. I’m a Spirit main and it does need a nerf or some kind of downside.
It's an iri add on that is supposed to help the killer? Why does it need a big downside?
Where's the big downside of BNP or Syringe add ons exactly?

I haven't played Spirit for a long time, but when I did play her it was because I enjoyed chasing one survivor, then surprising a nearby survivor who wasn't expecting it. You can't do that anymore, so what's the point? The fun thing was her unpredictability in those situations (I got some good scares doing that), but unfortunately not knowing what she was doing at loops wasn't fun, and you can't change that aspect without changing the other.
Edit: I guess I should point out, I wasn't necessarily a good Spirit player. I just liked that she was one of the few killers who could get messages like, "Oh my god, you really terrified me at that one part!" after a match. That kind of thing made me stupid happy.
This was my favorite playstyle as well. She's boring now and pretty easily countered.
-
Why the complaints about MDR? She's a blind Wraith now, and Wraith has better mobility base kit. Much better with Windstorm.
If we're nerfing speed add ons because "muh reaction time" then you can nerf MDR at the same time you nerf Blight, Billy, and Oni speed add ons.

I think they mean the greenhouse outside, not the glass area of the main building- the place that looks a lot like it should have a vault spot but doesn't.
Yea I meant the outside greenhouse area. It usually has one or two very unsafe pallets at best. The park benches and the one at the greenhouse. And both tiles are completely open so there's no ability for either side to mindgame.
-
I get stuck on those weird rubble entrances as survivor too.
I would gladly trade one of the main building god pallets for making the greenhouse area not a complete dead zone.

Because using her only cosmetic that got objectively ruined to prove a point = a bad character model.
All this shows is that Kate's face isn't fitted for dark makeup and Laurie's hair. In fact I argue that all of the women who sport heavy makeup in their cosmetics look worse because the modeling crew aren't makeup artists. They all just get washed out in the end. The only reason old Kate could somewhat support that was because of how cartoony her face was. Her features were already exaggerated so arching her eyebrows and making them pencil thin wouldn't do anything. I mean, let's also not pretend that this cosmetic was good to begin with, no one used it because it always looked bad.
Now that Kate's face is more realistic, it doesn't carry across well at all because that's not a look on anyone. As I said, it washes her out completely and as you said, ages her 20 years.
The main issue with Kate's model is the facial animations distorting it in match. I think they improved it, she certainly doesn't look as angry as she once did, but that's also an issue that is present on every single character in the game at the moment. It's an ever so slight distortion to their faces that elongate certain areas or causes them to droop. That was the main issue with Jill to a more extreme, but it just stayed on her for us to see. They "reverted" Jill's face but as we all know it's not how it looked upon launch, and that's what's happening to every single model right now.
Kate is also missing eyelashes.
I partly use that example because I'm still mad that I bought that hairstyle for auric cells before they butchered it in the rework. If they wanted to fix some of her older styles they could have gone for the ponytails and the 50's style because almost no one uses them with how bad they look.
I agree with most of what you wrote here. I never thought any of the models were perfect, but many of the updates changed the facial structure of the originals to a degree where they no longer look like the characters we liked.
I think you may be right that its due to the animations making all of them look pissed off instead of scared/neutral.
Imo Kate's rework looks much better in the still shots they showed without animations applied. Same for Meg and maybe some others.
-
Yea, what were we thinking preferring the old Kate?
The one on the left says "I'm a little scared but cautiously optimistic", while the one on the right says "I'm a 40 year old divorced future cat lady and would like to speak to the manager".
The new model may, arguably, look better under nice lobby lighting conditions at the right camera angles. In game, however, with DBD's dated engine and lighting, the "low-quality" model actually looks better in most cases.
-
So on mobile she doesn't look like she's been scowling for 40 years?
-
Situationally it can be good but the way its used causes some problems. A lot of killers try to play "fair" by leaving the hook to chase someone else. If a teammate that hasn't been hooked yet is hiding in lockers and walking to avoid being chased, the killer is left with no choice but to camp and/or tunnel.
Evening out hook states is the best chance for the whole team to escape, so play more aggressive depending on how the hook counters play out.
If you're hooked twice early, by all means, hide from BBQ, walk, and go for that corner gen that the killer probably doesn't care about defending. But in the opposite situation, leave lots of scratch marks, go to a less safe tile to encourage the killer to chase, etc.
These are just basic strats that the game doesn't do a good job at teaching new players, and I don't see many solo queue teammates employ them.
-
Lol yikes. Ok they fixed her zombie eyes but she still looks terrible. Do we have to wait a year for a fix like Cybill players?
-
Have any screenshots to compare how she looked before? She still looks better than Claire...

Welcome to Escape Based Matchmaking, your teammates are not your friends anymore.
This exactly. I'm so done with solo queue teammates with this mmr system.
I've never seen so many teammates give up early and start hiding in hopes of being the last one to die or get hatch, and therefore be least punished in rating. It's honestly depressing trying to run my usual altruistic build and try to help people that will leave me on hook in a heartbeat for an easy escape.
At least under the emblem system, you were actually rewarded for helping teammates and taking chases. Now the reward for that is a downward spiral in quality of teammates.
At this point I feel like I should only play survivor with at least 2 friends. Sadly most of my DBD friends don't play nearly as much as they used to.
And playing killer under the mmr system is even worse soooo..
-
Keep them as is, but either the perk is dead when the killer snuff it or each dull totem can only be blessed once.
Then they can still be a strong while having counters, just like Hexes.
-
I've had to start playing more selfishly in solo queue just to try and escape the horrible teammates I get matched with.
I usually make an effort to save everyone during endgame, take aggro when I haven't been hooked by midgame, etc. But the system punishes you with lower mmr for doing those things, and gives me teammates that won't go near a hook even when I have Kindred.
Even as I'm climbing higher in mmr, judging by the skilled killers I'm getting, I often get 1-2 teammates running Left Behind and hiding for hatch from the start of the match.
This mmr system is worse than the old emblems at measuring skill. Kills/escapes aren't good metrics.
-
Current mmr doesn't actually measure skill, but I want to see it to see if the system is even functioning, if the other players I'm matched with are of roughly similar ratings, etc.
-
I'd prefer they fix his broken add ons and oversized hitbox but I'll take whatever I can get.
-
You probably have to position yourself just right for the hatch prompt to pop up and override the snap out of it prompt. The same thing can happen when trying to unhook or open exit gates in tier 3 madness (or with Victor on your head)

Can we also add validation to a Doctor?
So you will not be able to vault, or drop pallets in that last second...
Clown would be nice too, so you can't fast vault.
Yep, I can't wait to see the feedback once survivors start getting vault refunds vs Doctor.
Just remember "it's just a bug fix", and "you're just used to getting vaults that you were never meant to make".
-
Yep, mmr feels horrible on both sides.
-
I don't know how they keep messing up Jill's face. At least they usually fix it.
Still crickets from them about how bad Claire looks :c
-
Imagine if they made window validation for survivors vaulting vs doctor's shock.
The feedback from survivors would be interesting after the server decides they got shocked first and refunds the vault.
And it would just be a bug fix after all..."You're just used to getting vaults you were never meant to make."
