Bear in mind that the Steam charts never actually showed a gigantic loss overall to begin with- just the falloff from the all-time high of the Resident Evil chapter.
This is pretty expected.
3 licensed chapters over the last year and the year over year growth is almost zero. Not exactly stellar. If the downward trend continues through the anniversary I'd say its more concerning.
-
Animations really need a lot of work on the survivor side.
-
Yea they never followed up on fixing the animations. They just ripped out the movement transitions (I actually liked those) and left us with the weird looking idle and injured running that were heavily complained about.
Turning 180 degrees sometimes causes the survivor to snap turn with no animation. It's hard to describe but you'll notice it if you play survivor for a few matches.
Still can't look up or down while crouched or running.
-
so we're going on like 3 months of updates and not even an acknowledgement on these. it's a sadness

Yep, they look terrible now in my opinion. I also didn't know her old glory knotted t-shirt was messed up... again... It really pisses me off how Kate's cosmetics keep getting messed up. I literally am not buying anymore cosmetics for her until this crap is fixed and if the current ones I do have aren't fixed soon I'm requesting a refund. I bought those cosmetics for how they looked at the time I purchased them. I don't want something I paid for to change unless I'm going to be offered a refund for them.
Yea, I'm also not spending another dime until they fix Kate's outfits (and Claire's face). Not worth supporting a company that treats its customers this way.
-
Can we throw out the chat filter with sbmm?

@KateMain86 said:
So the cosmetics mentioned in my original post still look the same. I'm wondering if this was an intentional change or something that happened with a patch update. Can anyone confirm?
Not sure why they would intentionally make most of Kate's outfits look worse, but i guess it wouldn't be the first time. The waistlines that were changed clip horribly in game.
She's also still missing her bra straps on her default shirt/recolors, and the flag shirt lost its "physics" in the latest update.

Survivors get 4% speed increase with Dark Theory but the turning animations that got scrapped in the PTB come back.
i would make that trade in a heartbeat as a mostly survivor main. those animations looked way better and janky 360's are dumb
-
At this point, it's almost easier to list which Kate outfits aren't bugged...
-
They did such a disgraceful job on Claire, and flat out ignored all the feedback about it. I won't spend a dime on cosmetics again until they fix her.

Would having the mini-mori available on death hook at either
A) Any Condemned progress
OR
B) 50% Condemned progress
help this mechanic out?
...basically thinking along the lines of P.Head.
This would function as way to force more tape interaction throughout the course of the match....especially late game.
I don't think a free tunnel ticket off 2nd hook for another killer is the ideal solution.
I think interacting with the tapes should shut them down for longer as survivors, but also be more dangerous, perhaps through faster progression, or giving away your location, idk...something. We need real trade offs for both sides to create interesting/difficult choices.

I would have bought the green drip if it came separately, but now they get nothing. Gg ez, baby devs.
If the devs make unnecessary restrictions to require buying a full outfit, but players don't buy it, was it really a skilled play??
-
Add it to the other 90% of her outfits that are currently bugged. The waistlines on all her shorts and skirts were messed up a couple patches ago, and all her default shirts/recolors lost their bra straps..
Seriously frustrating how they've broken almost all of her cosmetics without even an acknowledgement that they're aware and working on eventual fixes.
-
i like it
-
I've had this happen sporadically for quite a while. I'm not sure if it's linked to specific add ons or just random.
-
They can fix Claire while they're at it

If the killer is camping, and you are able to 'hook trade in most situations' doesn't that mean the other survivors can just slam gens and the killer has no map pressure? On top of this, the killer isn't tunneling as well, which is the point of the perk to prevent. The killer might be able to guarantee a kill via camping this way until no one can afford to hook trade, but they can already do this. The way to prevent a hook trade it so use multiple survivors body blocking to stop the hook trade, which currently is already often required.
DS is supposed to be the anti-tunnel perk. BT is anti-camp. Rewarding a camping killer with multiple guaranteed hook trades isn't fulfilling the purpose of the perk and rewards a low-effort, boring strategy.
-
No thanks, I'd rather not make camping even more effective by guaranteeing a hook trade in most situations
-
With the prevalence of killers being a back-to-hook Andy, it's often hard to finish the heal even with the 100% increase. I usually prefer to run BT and WGLF for the extra blood points and camping insurance.
-
Nice job consolidating these in one report with clear images. Why do they keep breaking Kate things..
-
I mean, was there a time where that hair didn't look like a complete disaster?

I liked her old model a lot more. The rework makes her look way older than she actually is and it looks like she is angry all of the time, which is not like her character at all.
Yep, she has that snarling expression all the time. Goes pretty hard against the whole "hopeful songbird" attitude she's supposed to have.
And yea, they've made changes to so many of her cosmetics that I paid for and no one asked to be changed.
Just recently they messed up the waistline on all her shorts and deleted the bra straps on her default shirt/recolor. No acknowledgement or fix yet. You'd think they would care considering they make most of their income from cosmetics..

Idk. Sure it was called a bug by mclean long ago but you cant speak for bhvr now as they can think what they want since they dont have the lead designer of the killer there to say what is a bug or not. Also I think long term fixes are way better that "oh this killer is overperforming lets do an entire rework/nerf to their addons" when what makes blight and nurse good is being able to read their opponents for nurse and looking for what to bounce off of as blight.
Wait so 5 seconds before that clip was posted, every Blight main on this forum was repeating "the dev that designed Blight says it's intended". But when he says its actually not intended, suddenly his opinion doesn't matter and the devs should ignore him.
If you look closely, you can see the goal posts moving off in the distance.

It's better to balance killers around maps than the other way around. Like if they truly want to get at least close to balancing this game they need to fix all of what you said before touching certain killers. Toning down nurse and blight is just a band-aid fix that leads to survivors to still overperform vs all the other killers.
So BHVR reworks, what, 2 killers a year? And at least half of them end up being net nerfs. So by chapter 50 or so, maybe we'll have 5 killers at the same power level as the top 2. Good luck with that plan.
Much easier to say "hmm this window is a guaranteed 30 seconds of holding W for 80% of the killers. Let's put some boards over that or a breakable wall."
We've already had the multiple Spirit nerfs recently. If they were intent on buffing killers to current top survivor power, those wouldn't have happened.
"Hug Tech" was confirmed as a bug. Patching that out would be a good start. A better move would be fixing his stupidly oversized hitbox so you can actually stand a chance of juking it. And then knock down some of the broken add ons like, well, half of them.

Can you post a video example? It's always worked for me when I waited out the initial chains, so I'm not sure what you're getting.
I'll try to record next time I play against a Pinhead. Not sure if we can upload video to the forums currently?
It was working ok for me after they did some bug fix a while back. Today, I had 7 or 8 attempts interrupted before the killer initiated a chase. Just a steady stream of chains no matter what I did. I don't remember that happening since the first update when Pinhead was released.
Maybe I was just unlucky and this isn't a widespread issue.

If you compare him to what survivors can do, you will see how balanced he is.
compare a killer to survivor, not other killers.
How are the devs supposed to balance the core game mechanics (gens, maps, spawns, camping, etc.) when the killer roster has outliers that are far stronger than average? Nurse and Blight need to be brought down in line with the rest of the killers or the game will never be improved in terms of balance. Expecting the devs to make changes to the other 24 killers rather than the 2 that overperform is delusional.

OP hasnt changed his mind because most replies are from killer mains telling him things like ''get better'' ''learn how to counter blight stop crying'' ''you are just an entitled survivor main'' etc. Maybe give a reasonable argument?
Typically it goes something like "Blight is the most balanced killer". Which is proven to be a disingenuous argument, as the second you point out how broken he is compared to the rest of the roster, they'll shift to "yes and every killer should be as broken as Blight".

Not sure where you're getting 4. Default is 10 seconds, 2 per Rush for 5 Rushes. With Adrenaline Vial, it's 7, 1 per Rush for 7 Rushes.
In the video mentioned earlier, the killer is using Adrenaline Vile and the yellow cooldown add on. So 6 rushes times 0.66 seconds/rush.

Yep! Exactly. I haven't reported it as a bug yet. I'm sure by now they are aware so I expect this to be fixed soon if it hasn't already. I haven't been in game since the lunar event ended so I don't know if they are fixed yet.
It's definitely not fixed in the current live version. I wouldn't count on them being aware of it. Or worse, they may have changed it intentionally. It wouldn't be the first time they made cosmetics look worse. Especially when it comes to Kate...
And to top it off, they somehow managed to delete the bra straps on all her default shirts....??

His survivors were beyond terrible. They weren't doing gens. They let him get away with having such long chases, especially by Blight standards. He missed so many rushes. He's talking so much he must have been barely paying attention. And still, they let him 4k them. If we're gonna talk about how good something is on the killer side, they have to be facing high level survivors, not just anybody.
Ah yes, the "no true survivor" argument. If he wins, the survivors are bad. If he loses, Blight is totes balanced and if anything needs buffs. In other words, thank you for proving that no amount of evidence would actually convince you.
It couldn't possibly be that having the best mobility in the game on demand with, at most, a 4 second cooldown, can carry even a below-average Blight to an easy win.

It's obvious that you guys don't play blight. Hell try to watch the game where OhTofu tries the add-on, he even has the quote. Blights new strongest add-on, which he admits in the video is just click bait. In that video he consistently misses rushes that he wouldn't have missed had he been running any other add-on. The turn rate reduction is a big deal and unless you're a very good blight the bonuses don't make up for the deficit. Up until this recent change is was straight up worse. The adrenaline vial is fine.
Add-ons that should be nerfed for Blight are the blighted crow and the alchemist ring. And here's the real hot take, the Blighted crow is stronger than the alchemist ring.
Oh you mean the video where he spends the whole time talking about how bad he is at Blight, yet still 4k's both games at 3 gens? Not exactly making a great argument for Vile being balanced.
-
In a swf, probably.
I think the best I've managed when actively counting was 7. I was going for the achievement for escaping 8 matches with no perks. I brought no items and somehow had 7 straight escapes in solo queue. Died to a tunneling freddy inches from the exit gate on the 8th game :c
-
They also messed up the waistline on all her shorts, skirts, and possibly other outfits
-
Yea this became a "feature" after they gave up on fixing the new survivor animations last year. They had said they were going to keep working on improving several of them, like the injured running and standing idle. And then they just moved on and ignored it...
-
Would be more likely to consider Kate's if they didn't just mess up half of her cosmetics a couple patches ago and not acknowledge it.
Also jaded from spending money for cells outfits after they "reworked" her Golden Cascade hair into a disaster, and still haven't made Claire look anything like her RE2 source material.
My wallet is closed to BHVR until the above issues are resolved.
Also ######### are those shoulder pads...
-
Have you tried reporting it as a bug? I just looked in game and now I can't unsee it. It looks awful.
-
They really can't stop making her cosmetics worse huh. Yes, I'm still pissed about the disaster that is the reworked "golden cascade" hair. Good to know more cosmetics that I spent money on are being changed...
-
I always thought reducing his lunge would have been a better nerf rather than wrecking his power and add ons last year. Along with the BT change to prevent camping in dream world.
His lunge looks so stupid visually. I start eye rolling seconds in advance of a vault in preparation for the impending bs.
In his current state, he shouldn't be nerfed further.

And also don't try and pick anyone up who's in the first level of dead dawg saloon's saloon. That "drop" from the inside to The outside is apparently pretty great.
Which seriously, I don't care about percentage as much as just making "great height" 10ft or something. Just an actual, measurable, stable distance that can be relied on by both sides
My issue with this is I don't want another nerf to Balanced Landing. We already have some maps where it's only usable in 1 or 2 spots.
-
@AngyKiller said:
Boil Over is broken at 25% for a 3 inch drop. Killers can't even shortcut the basement stairs.
The change is proper balance, not a nerf, and it's easier than reworking every single map just so Survivors can have their 20th second-chance perk to pick from.
So take the stairs or don't greed for a basement hook if it's far away? The perk isn't hidden or anything.
I already see it far less than just a couple weeks ago and it hasn't even been nerfed yet.
We should wait and see how the extra hooks in high areas play out before relegating another perk to the trash.
-
@Pulsar said:
I respect your opinion but I hate over half of these things.
Lmao my thoughts exactly.
Most of the things on the list are a very mixed bag of visual updates that amount to window dressing over the unbalanced mess that is the core game. Then throw in some more unbalanced perks and a matchmaking system that doesn't work. No wonder I was thinking how much better the game was a couple years ago.
-
They could improve on the reworked injured running and standing idle while they're at it...
-
@Dito175 said:
Kinda boring they didn't make a new healing animation.
One of the worst animations in the game but would probably be hard to fix without some new tech. iirc all male/female survivors share the same respective skeletons. This makes animations difficult since many of the survivors are larger/smaller. Hence the floating back rub animations we have now.

Do you have any idea how many games it took for the build to work? Did you miss the obvious counterplay of simply rushing the gate the killer is camping? Did you miss the obvious counterplay of cleansing noed?
Just because a streamer does a cute gimmick strat doesn't mean it's something to panic about. It's a dumb build with clear and simple counterplay.
I'm not sure counterplay of "literally just throw yourself at the killer and hope some of you can crawl out" is a good mechanic.

Just because something is off meta doesn't make it balanced or healthy game design.

99'ing a gate also goes against the goals of an endgame collapse 🤷 do bones.
I'm not going to bother responding to you anymore. I don't think you're commenting in good faith, or trying to see how this "optimized build" could be unhealthy for the game.
I guess Boil Over and hook locations didn't need to be fixed since they were just being used optimally as well...
-
@SomberNokk said:
I wouldnt call that a tech or broken, thats using a build optimally. Not OP at all.
The problem I have with it is it seems to go against the stated goal of the End Game Collapse not favoring either side. Also, how effective this build is against solo queue. Countering this requires some combination of:
- IMMEDIATELY touching the 2nd gate to start No Way Out's timer.
- Having all 5 totems cleansed (doubtful in most cases) or quickly finding and cleansing Noed. Even having found Noed, I imagine this could be done with Bubba to have an instadown on command.
It's such a small window of time for survivors without comms to realize what the killer is doing and be in position to counter it. I don't know if that's a reasonable expectation for a normal solo queue team.
