Stealth has always and will always be viable. It should be the only way to play, IMO.Not entirely....
And that's someone who knows how to lose a killer, but it's mainly due to mindgames and resorting to stealth afterwards.

This made me laugh considering it's really true and so ironic to say.

You didn't explain to me why you would camp with 5 gens left.
You just told me how that doesn't happen.....................................
Okay....fair enough. If there are still 5 gens left when I hook someone....do the math. I can camp this survivor for the entirety, and unless the survivors came prepared, they will still have 2 - 3 gens left. That, to a killer is a fair trade off, as opposed to the time it might otherwise take to track the survivor down again, get 2 more hits, and re-hook.
Being conservative....each survivor hook takes 2 - 4 minutes to down and hook. Twice is 6 - 8 minutes.
With all 4 survivors working a gen, not counting travel time to the next one, it's roughly 30 seconds to complete an entire generator.
From this: Each attempt has a 4% chance to succeed and will cost 16.666% (or 20 seconds) of the remaining Health Bar.
We can see that 16.666 health equals 20 seconds. As such, there are 6 16.666 in 100 health. At 20 seconds each, a first hook survivors takes 2 minutes to camp.
So where does that leave us? The fastest possible time to complete a gen (without addons or perks), with all 4 survivors working the same gen is 30 seconds. A single survivor under the same conditions will take 80 seconds, again no travel time.
Survivors take 2 minutes on the hook.
An unhooked survivor may never be caught again.
I'll camp the first one with 5 gens, take my chances on how many gens get repaired, and have one less survivor you help with whatever is left.
Now, if you have read this far, you've earned a killer secret. The current emblem system pretty much mandates that survivors unhook a survivor. As such, hook a survivor and they come to the killer at ranks below 8. So what you may consider camping, is just me chasing all your friends away....HOPING they actually get you off the hook, but super close that I ca just one shot you and rehook you (sandbagging).
Any questions?
None
That's what I wanted to hear was an actual reason to camp -

But if it's the first hook with 5 gens, I just don't understand. I don't. Someone explain how this lazy tactic is fun. I want to know what's enjoyable with just standing there doing fuckall

I really really miss those days. I'm only rank 6 now....but 1st hook with 5 gens? HA-LARIOUS! Hasn't happened in a very very long time. Billy, Doc, Tums, and Bunny Mom.....tried them all. Lucky to get 1 hook with 2 - 3 gens left. Players rarely make a mistake. I've been considering making a video where I just find a corner with insidious to hide, and just watch NOT ONLY how fast it goes, but how few mistakes are made.
Usually I find a survivor and it's tunnel time. Like I'm gonna stop chasing the one survivor I actually found for one with a fresh SB and DH cooldown. So it goes, the chase begins...three times loop, pallet drop, Bloodlust lost, and off to the next pallet. I've tried pulling off and chasing someone else, but even when they are not in SWF, they all know the deal. They take no chances and make no mistakes.....I can't emphasize that enough. I've been in trials where I didn't even see a survivor until it was down to 2 gens. As in, did NOT see them! Worst part about it....on my way to rank 6, through ranks 15 - 10...with BBQ&C I easily got 60K per match.....now that the rounds are so fast, even WITH this Double BPs event, I'm lucky to get 60k or 70k.....the rounds just go so damn fast. 5 - 7 minutes and they are fighting over who gets the hatch. I picked the wrong time to rank up, I can tell you that much.
1st hook and 5 gens left....no chance.
You didn't explain to me why you would camp with 5 gens left.

imo wglf should counter bbq, and show the killer for 4secs after he hooks someoneThis would be cool, you could then tell which way the killer is going and so forth.
Also, buff to a farm perk compared for when BBQ is just giving stacks for the killer doing it's job, seems fair enough.

But this also creates a problem. SWF boosting is extremely common. If the boosted player decides to go solo in high ranks, they're ruining the game for everyone else.If hes playing with people who are highly skilled, then I see no reason why he wouldn't learn the game even faster than the average survivor.
People should never be using other survivors to intentionally boost themselves to high ranks anyway. That isn't what the system was intended for.
Being boosted doesn't work like that. You don't learn by having other people do everything for you. You learn by observing what they're doing and understanding why they do it. Boosted players do not belong in the ranks they reach.
People shouldn't abuse exploits either, but they do.
The Emblem system doesn't support boosting minus Benevolence

Nope, the pallets are now working as originally intended.
Please don't ask to go back to the broken system we had to endure for over year now.
Pallets are not supposed to be safe places and trading hits is ok.
If you do want the 1000 points for the stun, you need to take a risk.
Guess why the reward is so high?Only current problem is stun delay, basically hitting someone after a pallet is FULLY dropped. That’s a bug though, not a change
There's no stun delay. You just drop the pallet too late to try to greed a stun/because you do not reach it in time.
I don’t even have the update. Don’t ya be calling me greeedy. Hold on, I’ll link a video example on reddit.

Not sure why you want to nerf a perk that do not require a nerf in the first place.
If the killer spots someone from afar, he's leaving the hook for the chase, leaving an opening for the rescue. Then it becomes a mindgame between survivors and the killer, because if everyone steps in for the rescue, the killer will be aware and camp. It just asks for understanding and comprehension, along with decent juking skills from the chased survivors if they eventually get found, if they chosed not to hide behind a RED AURA GENERATOR (a shadow nerf to BBQ that happened last patch)A nerf that wasn't even necessary to begin with. Why they implemented this hidden nerf, ugh. I like BBQ, it's easy to assume they have it to. A Killer walks right to when they hook someone doesn't make it obvious than getting a prescription glasses might help.
From your fellow Survivor, BBQ insists on leaving the hook. Easy to juke after 4 seconds, and if we get highly powered perks, Killers deserve to too.

Screw the Killer for wanting to play eFFiciently, right? Because that is essentially what the OP boils down to.While tunneling is still tactical and viable, the most efficient way should not be the most effortless way. In fact, the most efficient way to any game should take the most effort and should be hard, quite frankly.
When I play Killer, I simply don't enjoy "hanging around" just to make sure someone stays dead, and you all say you do? What's fun is chasing people and hooking them as much as you can, not ensuring every survivor gets 3 hooks by tunneling the crap out of them. I just don't see how that's enjoyable.
Anyway, valid as tunneling is, we still question your abilities and skill if you were to not use that strat.
-
Hold on, are Killers really calling tunneling a valid tactic then going on about how pallet looping takes no skill?
Let us spill the tea folks.
I would like a lengthy explanation on how skill is provided from wacking an injured survivor unhooked less than 12m away from you. From my experience play as a Killer, unless the survivor is hooked right infront of you, there's is no reason to chase them back down again and ignoring every single survivor in your path just to kill off one. Many of skillful Killers I've played against optimize switching targets and usually down and hook them, causing more of a stop to the progression of the game. Not to mention, multiple hooks on multiple survivors scream skill more than multiple hooks on only one survivor or vice versa (Multiple survivors hooked once).
"But... they are the easier target. Why wouldn't I go after them?" Here's your answer: Assuming they have Self Care, that is time that a generator is not being worked on. Time that if you're skilled enough, they get on a generator and the other survivor should about to be hooked. And the process should continue on.
Why do you all whine victim? It's established that tunneling, camping, and looping are all effortless tactics. The worst part is you ALL defend them and whine about them at the same time. Both parties want easy games and you guys are getting selfish, rude, and greedy about it. 4 BNPs = No skill, Tunneling an injured survivor = poor skill, looping around 5 pallets after another = less skill. Stop defending these poor tactics because they have great results.
And Survivors are really guilty for it, but it's more present with Killers of the fact that you guys complain about survivors tactics and abilities and go on to defend your effortless ones. You guys attack people who are 50/50 Survivor and Killer, and this entire forum is just complaining about complaining about the people complaining.
-

There have been many times as survivor where I was just a millisecond away from struggling out of the killer's grasp by the time I was hooked, and the reworked version of DS would have gotten me out. Not to mention the fact that your teammates can body block and flashlight the killer on top of the 3 second stun. I think the nerf will put it right where it needs to be, but I don't think it still warrants such a difficult skill check.I believe Tier I Overcharge's skillcheck would suit Decisives change.
-
Sole Survivor seems the exact same........... just with metres instead of percentages.
Bitter, Dark Sense, Calm Spirit = New Meta and I think I'm okay with that. I have a feeling Bitter and Dark might need slight nerfs but other than that I like them.
-
I really like the first suggestion, possibly a 2-5 second animation to stop the regression would be nice.
The second one is a no-go, I'm sorry. This would become too powerful as Killers would easily be able to grab survivors off the generator.
-
Survivor: 1 pip minimum, even if I die in my regards it means I did enough to deserve to rank up.
Killer: 2 Kills. I wouldn't consider 1 a lose but it wasn't a win.
-
I love it, by not running around a pallet and actually attempting to lose the chase than outrun is thrilling.
I really suggest using perks like Lightweight, Urban, Iron Will, Lithe, and Technician. Stealth play is so much more fun, also more effective. I think anybody in this thread can agree that not relying on pallets and relying on outplaying the killer has better results.
-
We must recognize that Dance With me is actually a good perk, could use a slight buff (I'm not a fan of the cooldown) but it's still good.
The rest suck. I know where every pallet spawns regardless and doesn't matter because I know which ones are used and aren't. Seriously? That perk lies with Deja Vu for terms of usefulness.
Whatever, we aren't entitled to amazing perks anyway. Just was a total disappointment to see 0 creativity in her perks other than DWM.

(The “end game” of most horror classics are usually the least suspenseful part of the show. ...What...?)We're talking about a video game here. You know, the type that's completely different from movies and real life. It's literally like saying why do people respawn in Overwatch if in real life when you die, you stay dead.. Hmmm, makes no sense!!! Must be fixed!!!
But I'm totally open to idea #3. Punishing you for staying too-long in the end game seems reasonable.

Can we just clarify something?
You all complained about how Sprint Burst needed a nerf, not exhaustion.
You all complained Sprint Burst completely broke down Killers like The Wraith and The Pig, not Dead Hard, Lithe, or Balanced Landing.
You all complained with multiple threads titled "Sprint Burst is OP", and not once have I seen a "Lithe, Dead Hard, and Balanced Landing are OP".
Sprint Burst needed a balance because it was used under no conditions, where as the rest were conditioned perks. Dead Hard? Injured. Lithe? Chase + Vault. Balanced Landing? Some maps only have 1 hill.
I'm all for balancing, because Sprint Burst is too strong, but eh, I don't see a point in using any other exhaustion perk if they're all going to be that much worse compared to Sprint Burst now. I'm probably not the only one.
-
I think currently the only reason they haven't touched the core mechanic of Hexes is because of NoED.
It depends on the map too, maps like Lery's and Gideons get lucky with hex totems because they're a pain to find, whereas maps like Coldwind and Ironworks get screwed over because of the simplicity placement the RNG provides.
Just fix the RNG on those maps. Totems on them are hidden enough on the others like the swamp and listed above. Adjusting the RNG + making your suggestion the permanent solution would result in possibly it being too powerful. That's my two cents.
And yeah, smart survivors just work through Ruin. I see people complain that Ruin did nothing even though it never got touched and couldn't recognize that people can be good at skillchecks.

Dead Hard is balanced as-is, Balanced Landing got the buff it needed and Lithe is a balanced version of Sprint Burst, lacking all of the problems it has. That leads us to the problem child, Sprint Burst; nerf it and leave the other Exhaustion perks the Hell alone.
That's what I said to my friend.
Dead Hard you have to be injured to use it, Lithe you MUST be in a chase and vault, Balanced Landing there must be somewhere high you can fall. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a killer complain about any of these three exhaustion perks. They are really fair, as it's not such a versatile use. Like some maps only have one hill for Balanced Landing, Billy Leatherface and Myers all counter Dead Hard...
So like, the devs just made these three conditional, situational perks really bad... Hell I would not complain if this nerf was applied to Sprint Burst only because then we'd see more versatility with exhaustion perks. But don't make perks that are only used under certain conditions worse because of one perk that is overpowered. They stand balanced and would make the other 3 too under-powered that now you'll probably only see Sprint Burst.

Always keep injured status. That’s the core of the perk, and I need my synergies. In my opinion, just buff it’s noise reduction, and throw some more perks into the cocktail. Maybe add faster recovery, recovery while moving, crawl 25% faster, I don’t know. Just something to make it burn less, and allow you to syngerize instead of wasting slots just to make injured less #########All No Mither needs is Iron Will built into it. Or tenacity. One of the two.
Here is the perfect NM Build and I'll tell you why:
No Mither, Tenacity, Dead Hard/Sprint Burst, Resilience.Because NM is powerful with just tenacity itself. It allows you to worm away and recover at the same time. I use this perk alot and I will tell you it's fine where it is, it's just not a perk meant to be ran alone.
I mean, have you guys seen No mither synergized with Resilience, Leader, and Prove Thyself? Gens get cut to nearly 30s when you work on it with someone else.... it's ridiculously fun. I've carried minute chases with No mither and escaped, and felt the reward. Picking myself up with No Mither too, the reward lol.
Now, remember this: If you synergize all of Davids perks the way he's supposed to be played, you realize he's there to take hits for people. If you even synergize it with Tenacity, then it makes body blocking the most rewarding thing. Not only do you recieve stacks if you're using WGLF, but you're able to pick yourself back up no problem. They can't pick you up if they have someone already. Remember that when using No Mither.
Yes, this perk is really crappy, but all it needs is T3 Iron Will or to be able to crawl and recover at the same time. Otherwise, this perk is meant to be synergized. I heard on the Q&A though that they will be revising it at some point. I'd really like to see one particular change: The killer isn't notified of No Mither right away.
-
Sprint Burst has more clutches, but I've always been a Dead Hard fan :P
But the amount of times I dead harded into a pallet and got a stun and escaped a chase was great.
The amount of times I deadharded and it saved my ass into the exit gates, hatch, etc, is good for me.

It's been 6 month since Freddy got shafted by the Devs but here of a few reasonable buffs or reworks that seem would work and been very popular amongst the community and forums:Here of the 2 that 100% Must happen in the next patch.
No Interactions are allowed during the 7 seconds dream transition Only Pallets And Vaults are ALLOWED!
Freddy can pull survivors off any sort of interactions when NOT in dream world ex. Gens, totems, Exit gates, Instant Save Unhook (Only lockers are available to do so at the moment)
What more do you think should happen to freddy? Comment Below.
We need the Devs to see this and mention something in the Q&A stream next week
Freddy and his power should be the strongest in the game his power is iconic and shouldn't be shafted the way it is in DBD. BUFF Freddy
Freddy does not need a buff, he needs adjustments. Right now as it stands he's_ very exploitable._ Not necessarily weak, (Well weak in map pressure), but extremely and utterly exploitable. If a survivor gets down they can easily be brought back up with nearly no punishment. Gen repairs are hard to stop, so are other actions.
I agree with your first suggestions, that's an awesome one. Making actions ill-allowed will possibly stop the exploits. That's literally all he might need. I also think they should reduce the time it takes to fall asleep and tamper with his add ons.
I seriously can't agree with letting him pull survivors off actions. He is utterly invisible. It's not going to happen. Can the Wraith pull people off actions when cloaked? No. Simply because it would happen so much they would have to reverse it. It sucks, but you shouldn't be able to ambush people like that while completely invisible. It would even go against their whole concept of their powers.
Remember? The Wraith is cloaked and thereby isn't interactive with the entity's world. (I think) When he's cloaked he's technically in another realm allowing him to be invisible. That's why when he uncloaks his body unravels with the entity's orange and black look.
Same with Freddy, he's in the DREAM WORLD. it's tied to his movies that he can't attack or do no harm unless it's in a dreams. To pull someone off mid-interaction (i.e totems, gens) would simply overpower him in that aspect due to his ability to not be seen, at all.
- Your suggestion: Ill-allow actions during the transition. If currently performing an action (Such as cleaning, repairing, exit gates. Iffy about the unhooks because people are mad you can't camp but other than that) it will be interrupted and no longer to continue during the transition.
- Reduce the time the transition takes.
- Pull multiple survivors into the dream world at once. The fact he can't do this confuses me already but it just makes sense. If there's 3 people at a generator, he should be able to put them to sleep all at once.

What is the cone to-say? Well, because of the lovely peer-to-peer servers and hitboxes being total crap in this game, the devs implemented a cone for the killers basic attack. Meaning, if you're inside of this cone when they attack is initiated, it will count as a hit.
Opinionated, but for some reason, The Pig and Freddy are always able to hit outside of a window MUCH FURTHER than The Nurse or Trapper. I'm always hit after a vault and downed with these characters, evidently if they were another Killer I wouldn't of because of the cone. They would've hit the wall of the window. It's frustrating and annoying, you should only be able to hit mid-vault, not after when the vault has been performed. It seems like the opportunity is only given to The Pig or Freddy unless you're just standing directly infront of the window.
The cones are the exact same for all killers. No exception.
The range is eventually different, due the fact it's tied to movement speed. You guys are just spreading myths, because your perception is wrong due to the fact you play against smaller killers.
Hold up hold up hold up.
No, because not every killer has the exact same lunge and size.
Simply putting an opinion out there with being opened to being proven wrong. Not spreading myths, but being open to a discussion. There's a difference mate.
That being said, due to the cone, if positioned properly through a window, it can hit the survivor regardless of the Killer. That's cleared up.
And it's facts that some Killers weapons don't even touch a survivor but register as a hit. Because of the cone. So yes, it's present, and seems to just raise brows as to how a hit registers when you aren't touched by the weapon. It's called crappy coding if you ask me.
Edit: Yeah, because hit boxes were so broken they implemented a cone instead.
It's not crappy coding, it's just game mecanics.
The lunge range is directly tied to the base movement speed of the killer.
Pig/Trapper/Freddy/Billy/LF/Doctor/Wraith/MM EW2 do share the exact same lunge. It's just facts, and has been stated countless times by devs now, and is easily verified in game. Just get used to the usual range of the killers, rather than your perceptions. And yes, being small in this game is deceptive, which is a good advantage to have as a killer such as pig or Freddy.
Tho you can keep spreading myths such as "Pig has longer lunge" or "Freddy has more range and a bigger cone" as much as you want, it won't change the facts. Now you're changing subject and adding "you can get hit through windows", which no one denied, since windows are... windows, and no walls. So yeah, you can get hit through them. It's not ######### up, it's a... window, you know ?
I'll just give the details about how a hit works just to stop the myth spreading, as explained countless times by devs :
When you start hitting with a killer, there's a detection cone, that detects survivor in the area of effect. If it finds a target, it locks the camera on that person, and 0,3s later, if the target is still there, the hit do connect (which is why you can miss a chainsaw rush on a sprint-bursting survivor).
The cone is the same width for every killers, and the exact same length.
That being said, the LUNGE RANGE is different depending on the killer, and the distance you perform by lunging is directly tied to your DEFAULT movement speed.
Myers EW1 do have a very poor lunge, then Nurse, then Hag/Huntress have slightly lower lunge distance due to their lower base movement speed, and then, all the other killers do have the same lunge range and cone (with EW3 myers having slightly more reach)Not sure how it can be clearer than this.
Nobody is disagreeing with you. Not once did anybody say you're wrong...
I'm simply stating what was an opinionated subjective statement, nobody is spreading myths in this thread period.
Also, it is frustrating when you're decently over the window and get a lucky down because the killer managed to hit properly because they timed the cone-hit right.
Jeez, this is a discussion. People are just discussing things, nobody spreading anything but stating what they think. Glad you're there to clear it all up with your very poor attitude.
I.e Hag's cone would be then smaller due to her lunge. Her cone wouldn't hit as far as it would for The Pig/Trapper/etc because of her movement speed. How is it the same length if her lunge is smaller? That means her cone would hit outside of her given lunge and the same range as the base movement speed. That's mathematically incorrect.

Change your build? Theres plenty of fun builds to run as survivor. Try some of these;Lithe, Dance with me, Lightweight, pharmacy.
No mither, urban evasion, dead hard, resilience.
Vigil, Streetwise, Leader, Bond.
Wake up, Hope, Technician, (any).
These are just off the top of my head. Alternatively, you could try using perk wheels, those are pretty fun too.
Plenty if things you can do to vary game play.
Love this post. There's various ways to play the game, wish the emblem system didn't ruin playstyles, but nonetheless still ways.
Try using other builds. All you gotta do is practice escaping chases and you'll do just fine.

I believe so just not at the intensity of which it is.
I think you're suggesting: Is a Survivor that's able to outrun the killer in pure site for 5minutes intended?
My answer would be no, cause what...
But a survivor should be able to 1v1 the killer in the sense of outplaying them. We need more stealth play, more stealth perks, more rewarding of stealth, less being able to outrun the killer but outplay them instead.
