  • Aura reading perks are super important for survivors yet SWF gives you them for free. Aura reading perks need to be buffed to have additional effects so they're stronger on solo and halfway usable on SWF while very powerful perks that drastically halt killer momentum need to be nerfed.

Right now SWF can ignore all aura perks and just run sets of momentum swinging perks, which causes a silly amount of them to be in each game.

  • I dislike NOED because it mainly punishes solo survivors over SWF. As a SWF if you get NOEDed you have no excuse. As a solo, how are you supposed to know all of the totems are done? I can do 4 totems and be unable to find the 5th, only to learn my team ended up not cleansing it and getting rocked by NOED.

It's just unfun to play against as a solo player.

That is very understandable but mind if i ask what about it is not fun to go against in your opinion? Right now I'm actually doing some tests. I personally never ran noed but I'm going to try it on plenty of m1 killers with. no 1shot downs built in. Im going for a very information orientated perk setup and having noed as my 4th perk. Made this post while waiting on queue lmao

As a solo player you are forced to check every single totem spawn on the map to be sure all of them are broken. You can't trust your team to have done them. It's not exactly enjoyable to get smacked at the end of the game for a surprise one hit.

I also think it inflates kill numbers for killers, making them look more lethal than they really are.

  • It's a solid perk on low tier, M1 killers like clown and wraith. It's just not very fun to go against as a solo survivor.

Personally I think it needs a rework and nerf, but that's just me.

  • I personally think you're correct. Right now there are a small selection of perks with very powerful, momentum swinging abilities that are far too easy to proc to gain their effect. It completely overshadows the sea of less swing-y perks and narrows build diversity. There needs to be nerfs on these strong perks and buffs on the bad perks.

  • If GF manages to fully stalk you and then walk up to you and hit you without you reacting I'm pretty sure you need to start moving your camera more. But I also think it would be decently strong and unfun for a lot of people.

I played way more than 10 matches yesterday and didnt see that many DC, let me guess Iri Huntress? lol

Yeah, definitely. I ran iri head and was surprised when people dc'd on me.

  • I played 10 games yesterday and in 7 of them someone DC'd on their first down. I wasted two hours trying to play this game only to have it ruined because losers can't handle being downed.

  • Cruel Limits - It would feel bad to be in a chase and someone pops a gen, completely screwing you out of a loop and getting you downed because of it. But Haunted Grounds does something like that now so that's fine. The perk is trash as is and this would be better, though still wouldn't see much play.

Furtive Chase - I don't really like this change, but the perk is probably the worst killer perk in the game. Maybe outside of a chase you get half of the reduction? The perk just needs a rework.

Boil Over - Yup. It should also give a boost to filling the wiggle bar. Maybe by 15%

Technician - It still probably wouldn't see use, but sure.

Thrilling Tremors - Blocked gens should regress regardless of what ended up blocking it and I don't think anyone can change my mind on that.

lol. so if you have 11 houses and the middle one is on fire and you have 5 fire hose teams, you have to prioritize which houses get the water to keep them from catching fire and those are usually the ones much more danger than the other ones. so if you have 50 tasks to complete but only a few people to complete these tasks you have to prioritize what tasks to do.

so in this case you want a small change to a perk that isn't broken or not working. do you know the full extent on what you want to do in the programming? do you know how to make sure that change doesn't affect how the rest of the game works? there is more to it than just changing the description because that doesn't change how it actually works. I am not saying it's not a good idea or that it is a bad change. I'm saying that it isn't necessarially the best thing to devote efforts to when there are very important things to work on.

Making sure the other houses don't also catch on fire is a priority too. You don't assign an entire hose or team to the houses not on fire, but you sure as hell keep an eye on the houses near the fire and jump to action if you notice an ember catching a curtain on fire.

My point is that just because something big and flashy is a problem that doesn't mean you shouldn't also care about the smaller problems. This isn't an entire perk rework or balance. It's a tiny QoL that improves the game.

And when I see bhvr spending all this time nerfing Billy it tells me they have a lot of extra time laying around. Why not spend it on something people won't hate?

Anyways, I'm not really interested in talking to you anymore for a few reasons, so this is the last time I'm going to respond.

  • They do drastically different things.

Whispers shines very early in the trial and very late in the trial but doesn't do as much in the middle. It's also more map dependent. It helps you find a survivor quickly and start the ball rolling and then helps you Secure your 4k due to the powerful 1v1 potential it has. It can also help with figuring out which corners are dead areas you'd be wasting your time in.

Discordance shines early and in the middle of the trial, but fizzles late when there are less survivors. It can also be very easy to figure out if a killer is running it and you can change your gameplay accordingly. It gives you information so you can wisely allot your time to a specific area and can tip you off whether camping this hooked survivor is the wisest play or not.

I personally use Whispers more, but that's because I tend to have solid momentum building but lack in starting that momentum.

  • It's frustrating because it essentially implies that The Pig's ambush is equal to The Huntress' hatchets. Most of the 'basic attack only' perks are like that simply because of Huntress and Legion.

I think they need to make the distinction more nuanced than it currently is. Pig ambush should still apply everything as if it was a basic attack. It makes little sense to keep it how it currently is.

    1) I know whom i responded to, but do you think perhaps that I loaded the thread up after you posted and before the OP edited? perhaps you'd think about that.

    2) I was responding to you because of your comment about the console as well, yet I do not know how console works... do you plan on bringing your console to me to "EDUCATE" me?

    3) my response is the same to both YOU and the OP... now I know consoles have no chat I mean still I can make the same comment.

@RedditUser69 I didn't say I didn't want it, just pointed out why waste time making that happen when there is something more important to be fixed.

"Why waste time making the game less frustrating and improving a rarely used perk?"

Just because one house is on fire doesn't mean we shouldn't watch the houses beside it and put out any embers that might be flying onto it.

    Too strong? Really?

Look, the Undetectable status is good, but the timing for the perk is awful, so it pretty much cancels out.

The perk is only useful for 1 of 3 things:

    * No red stain - Which just makes mindgames slightly easier. You can already do a red glow mindgame to get the benefits perkless with a bit more effort

    * Aura reading immunity - Which is only relevant for like 3 perks while in a chase

    * Catching other Survivors not in the chase off guard - The window after leaving the first Survivor is too short for this to be practical

So it has 3 uses all of which are bad. Having it be always active would be completely fine.

I disagree. The red stain plays a huge part in mind games and taking it away for one perk slot every single chase is too good.

Well then you can't fully heal yourself with it even if you heal multiple survivors.

Different health states on different people could be considered seperate.

  • @jonahol2000 said:

I think we can all agree that solidarity needs some kind of buff. I think the amount of heal you get should be 100%. So healing a injured survivor that has not been healed before would result in you also being fully healed when you finsh. A perk as situational as solidarity should have a powerful effect.

Solidarity should heal 100% of what you heal up to 50%. Currently if you fully heal someone you will only get 50% of your bar. They should make it so your healing is 1 for 1 up to 50%. It should also notify survivors that you have solidarity when both of you are injured to avoid fighting over who gets to head who.

  • Imo purple and red keys should be unplunderable and all broken keys should come with at least one addon when plundered.

This perk is terrible for new killers.. for any killers, other than trying to max out the Hunting point category. The fact that you only lose the red stain with bloodlust is pitiful. All a survivor needs to do is drop a pallet that must be broken or break chase, and the red stain is back.

Instead, this perk should always remove the red stain while in chase. That would be a useful perk.

I think that would be too strong, honestly.

Your idea is solid OP. I think it could be improved slightly by buffing the numbers but otherwise A+

  • I've heard this one before. I've been accused of gate camping as well when I play survivor, but I'm not sure anything I did counts as 'gate camping'.

  • Freddy: Height advantage, speed advantage, traps can be placed faster and requires far less setup, little to no counter to traps, far better map mobility that doesn't require survivors walking into your traps.

Hag: Short, slow and requires a lot of setup, lots of trap counters and her mobility requires survivors to run through her traps.

  • I'm strongly against emotes being added. I really don't want dabbing survivors/killers.

I'm not against different moris though. I think there's untapped potential that won't make the game feel like more of a meme than it already is with neon hair people and joke skins running around.

  • It's crazy how people don't want a slight QoL buff to an underused perk. It's just staggering.

this was not mentioned in the first message which reads "If I'm on my first hook and have deliverance primed and ready to go it should somehow notify my team that I'm able to save myself. Maybe with an icon on the bottom right of my team's screen akin to WMI except global while I'm hooked in phase 1.

This buffs a middle of the road perk for solo players without making it stronger for groups." there has been an EDIT to it.... but still Can I suggest that if you intend for this to be a discussion about the consoles, STATE it as such. I do not play on console, I do not know what consoles have specifically. How am I supposed to know this person is talking about consoles. oh yea the edit to the post.... doesn't even SAY it's talking about console it's talking in general.... hmmm I guess we are supposed to assume this is for console quality of life, but why is it that that should change how pc games work?

This isn't a discussion about consoles only. Someone reminded me that "Hey, consoles exists and this is a small bonus for them as well!" Originally this was a basic point about the perk being lackluster and there being a very easy way to boost its usage for solo players. That's it.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds has a similar system, it looks like this:

    https://trendyvirals.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Battlegrounds_Emotes-1.png

But it would only work in the postgame chat, writing text messages would be replaced by emojis.

I mean the after chat. Game is done, you see the leaderboard with the chat. But instead of letters, they can express themself with emojis.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LQMF0VH6CL4V/dbd-leaderboard.png

I understand now, sorry I obviously misread what you were saying.

I think it would be good for Mobile or Console, but I think it's too cartoony even if they were made to fit the game. Also people getting salty at the end of the game is honestly a highlight for me. I wouldn't be angered by this, but I wouldn't ever ask for it. Gentle pass from me but with an understanding "I get why."

bc there is no chat for consoles and we're getting crossplay soon? For consoles its an addition and for pc it might help with the toxic behaviour/chat after the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1463983#Comment_1463983

you missed the point. Its about the AFTER CHAT not emotes while playing.

So they would be 'emojis' that would pop up above survivor's heads? A thumbs up or down? Like that? I was thinking in the endgame lobby survivors would give a thumbs up or something, but I guess I misunderstood.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Honestly if they could increase the rate of triggering skill checks while healing with Autodidact. That would probably be enough to at least make the perk okay. It's main weakness is the ridiculously inconsistent nature of it.

Yesterday I ran it for one game. I got all 5 checks within the first two full heals. I then never got another healing check the entire game despite running around as a medic the whole time. It was comical.

  • I'm very against adding more emotes to the game. Rarely are the emotes actually used and when they are people don't actually pay much attention to them. They're usually just used to BM. Plus the devolution of emotes eventually becoming dabbing or fortnite dances is too dangerous of a reality.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

I disagree and am having a hard time thinking of words to describe that he is in fact fun to play as and against.

Trapper on the other hand is the bane to my survivor existence.

For some reason I lose 80 IQ when I go against trapper.

I think Legion just needs some of his nerfs reverted. I personally feel he's okay where he is, but could do with tweaks.

  • I think the perk needs to cause regular skillchecks so it's less feast or famine. Maybe similar to snapping out of it every 50% healed causes a skillcheck? Maybe allow you to proc it on selfcaring for half the token and it doesn't give bonus progress, only negative progress if the tokens are low.

Just spitballing, I don't know. But you're right it needs a buff. It's a scary perk because if it's too good it'll be unfun and busted to play against.

  • My favourite number is 15 so I always derank to 15 haha

Pick Huntress (you said no pig but pig works too) and any perk that has an animal face on it for a sick Zoo build.

Doctor with Coulrophobia, Unnerving Presence, Sloppy Butcher/Nurse's/Overcharge and distressing on The Game. Smack everyone and just be a general annoyance. Let every escape but make them suffer for as long as possible

Bubba with Speed Limiter, death engraving and movement speed boosters on a cramped map like Lery's or Hawkin's and try and score double saw hits. Infectious can be funny too.

  • What Legion could (should) have been... I've always wanted a disguise killer and the Legion teaser/chapter name SCREAMED it. But SWF destroys any chance at a disguise killer being made.

No ambush needs to be tuned down, traps should slow the game not just RNG mori. Her lunge always hit at pallets and windows. Also 360 is impossible against her

Her lunge is the exact same as every other killer. The ability to 360 and her reach is exactly the same as everyone else. You're incorrect, but that's okay because a lot of people are mistaken about this. Her ambush is not good and should not be tuned down, in fact I think it should once again be considered a basic attack and her growl should definitely start upon the charge.

My opinion on such things does not matter tbh.

I am a bit overwhelemed with notifications personally though, half the time i dont even know what they mean anymore. nI play surv and Im like, ######### are all these icons? All I know is the skull = exposed hahah

I don't want to come off like a jerk, but if you think your opinion doesn't matter why come into a thread, tell me your opinion on talking in a lobby, then dodge the actual topic at hand and refuse to give your opinion on what I'm asking about? Just seems weird. Saying you're overwhelmed by icons is a decent argument against it, but I don't think there are too many things clogging up the screen as of right now.

    @Freki said:

then say it in the beginning game chat. that is all.

That doesn't fix the problem. My team is now required to know when I've safely unhooked someone, something only one person will definitely know, and requires them to remember who I was and when I've ticked all the boxes. This is something SWF automatically get just by loading discord up. Why not buff solo survivors this tiny bit?

I am not a dev and do not have an answer there, but you can easily tell your team before the game if you running perks, I do it all the time, and I have never seen another survivor do it aside from me.

Threads like this make it obvious, hardly anyone ever talks before a match. At most you get a "glhf" or "I need exit gate for daily" but RARELY ever see "k guys Im running deliverance"

in fact, I have NEVER seen it.

Are you against them adding a notification?

  • Helmets are too RNG and her late game power was hurt a decent amount due to the EGC. Her crouch hinders her vision by a lot and barely makes her hidden and her ambush is usually useless against competent survivors. They need to go in and give her some buffs and QoL changes in my opinion.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

THis shows one of my main problems as survivor, people dont chat before the game.

Most I see is "nice outfit Feng"

But if you want to notify your team you running Deliverance, do it in pre-game chat? Thats what it is there for, most simply dont use it.

I tell them, running BT etc,... it can help.

I think any chance to close the gap between solo players and SWF should be taken. Even if every game people explained their build in the lobby, groups would be at an advantage since they have 0 chances to forget. They gave WMI an icon, why not do it for more perks like Solidarity and Deliverance?

  • I only use killer and survivor portrait changes. Some are ones I made, just cropped meme images mostly, while some are ones another person made.

I'd post them here but half of them are very inappropriate images I've cropped to be extremely silly looking expressions and I'd rather not be banned.

I'd love to have an old perk pack for red perks but I haven't seen any that make only the perks that used to be red, as well as new ones that probably would have been red, and actually look like the old perks. I miss them.

  • I get a flashback of that totem I passed and didn't cleanse and a single tear trickles down my cheek.

  • @lucid4444 said:

That would be nice. I keep trying to make that perk work but either I go down before I get a save, or when I DO have it ready, as soon as I'm hooked I see 3 people rushing towards me to get bloodpoints..

I think it's only usable in a SWF

    @madamretto said:

I actually want my team to know it in order not to be a bastard when I unhook myself in front of their face 😬

Every time I manage to get this perk primed my team decides THAT'S the time they're going to all make it their life's goal to save me. Which results in the killer camping me because there are 2 other people swarming the hook.

  • I think dead hard is. If there's an obsession the killer is going to assume you have DS anyways 80% of the time so often enough you get DS's effect for free. Dead Hard can be used to its maximum potential without any comm usage while DS gets better the more you're able to communicate with your team.

Personally I run neither because I'm a cool dude B)

  • Honestly I have a feeling the MMR system is going to be based roughly on the current emblem system but with some tweaks to make it a bit more accurate.

So honestly MMR will just be the current rank system but with a higher cap.

  • Considering the devs don't appear to say anything about simple 'cheats' like the lobby viewer going around now or even setting changing exploits like stretched res I wouldn't hold my breath on them commenting about actual hackers.

  • One thing I will say is that Feral Frenzy is a horrible name for what the skill actually is now. Before you could slash at people willy nilly while charging and vaulting around. It definitely doesn't feel like I'm in a Feral Frenzy anymore.

  • No it shouldn't. Should it be changed? Maybe. It's such a niche little thing that I'm not concerned about it. Reminds me of the harvester on the coldwind maps when you could loop on top if the hay.

  • "SWF would always get dodged or bullied by the killer!!"

Doesn't that tell you a lot about how unfun it is to go against a SWF?

    "Most SWF aren't deathsquads!"

True. But even when I'm memeing with my 3 other friends the amount of info we have at our disposal is STUUUUPID high compared to when I'm going in blind. SWF groups have insane advantages even if they don't capitalize on it all. It's ridiculous it has been 4 years without any sort of balance to them.

  • At first I was all for locking survivors, but honestly it feels dirty to do so. Killers are getting treated dirty by this change which stops them from protecting themselves from third party apps, doesn't let them level up other killers and forces them to accept the killer they picked despite the their whims changing. It's dumb and feels like a bad change.

But the solution isn't to also give survivors the same crappy feeling. I don't know what the solution is, but sharing the pain isn't what I want.

  • No and anyone who tries to do that cringy crap to me gets facecamped.

  • @hanscardoso said:

There should be no second lobby screen, if you are ready for the game, you are ready. It is already known that the balance of the game is affected if someone leaves the lobby, because the game needs to find someone to fill it again as soon as possible.

No one should see each other, first because the survivors cannot see the killer and, after the rest of the items are reworked, they will hopefully not be a problem.

One of the most flavourful and delicious parts about the game is that in the lobby the killer watches the survivors prepare and they get that little bit of bonus to do some prepping themselves. Taking that away would seriously hurt my enjoyment of the game.

If it doesn't, why is it used in synergy with Freddy?

Have you heard of 2020's version of Forever Freddy?

Jump Rope, Swing Chains, Dying Light, Thanataphobia, BBQ and Pop.

Dying Light is a win more perk which helps you continue winning. It works with those other slowdowns because they slow the game down so much it allows you to start getting stacks on your Dying Light, pushing it even further over the top.

Forever Freddy either wins at the start and just steamrolls the game or he catches you on a three gen and makes it impossible for you to close out the game. That's not at all a gen rush perk.

Let's see, what prevents Gen Rushing.

    1. Corrupt Intervention.
    2. Pop Goes The Weasel.
    3. Surge.
    4. Ruin.
    5. Thrilling Tremors.
    6. Overcharge.
    7. Discordance (Somewhat)
    8. Dying Light.

What prevents a killer from tunneling?

    Let's see...

    1. Decisive Strike.
    2. Maybe Borrowed Time.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you use your anti-gen rushing perks and still managed to get gen rushed, then the issue isn't the survivor. The issue lies in your skill as a effective killer. Survivors have barely, laughably 2 perks to counter a tunnel while killers get a plethora of perks to use to counter gen rushing.

I'm not saying Gen Rushing doesn't exist, I'm saying killers are given a lot more perks to counter a survivor's objective.

Woah did this guy just claim DYING LIGHT prevents gen rushing? Ahahhaha, this guyyyy.
