I won't be holding my breath it will. Just a bit of a vent.

Well I'm glad you have a place to vent, then.

My problem is this was a pure nerf without any corresponding buff in any of Hillbilly’s attributes. No more sawing at will (even though there’s a charge time, movement penalty, and low movement speed cool down). Now you can’t activate it after two attempts.

Make up for it somewheres. It feels like it the hope is just to use the saw for movement then back to M1. Would Billys be happy if they remained 115 or even 105 while charging? What if the charge tike was reduced at base? Anything to compensate for not being able to use his ability.

Yeah. I really don't like Hillbilly as someone who tends to play more Killer than survivor, he just isn't very fun to me, but their statement of 'We're happy about where he is right now :)' before taking a dump on him (Not making him HORRIBLE but just straight up nerfing... everything about him) is puzzling. Their recent decision to lighten the heat mechanic is good and Peanits has claimed they may still do some addon tweaking so hope is not all lost.

I wish I could sit in on the devs talking about proposed changes. I wish I could so badly. I need to hear their thought process behind ######### like Mother's Helpers, Big Buckle and the two Iri Addons.

I did after they unblocked me to send a second message and then immediately blocked me again.

There's nothing more you can do and making a post on the forums probably won't change anyone's mind. You're not wrong at all, but your attempt to change how people act is just like yelling into the void. Sorry bud.

    I would love these changes.

I read above the engravings move speed was nerfed. They should remove the charge time drawback if that’s the case.

Time and time again the devs make a perk/addon that's DECENT... then slap on a downside or a huge cooldown or a pointless limitation (Fixated) which then makes it weak or useless. I get not wanting to do another iri hatchet oopsie (But of course it has been around for 3 years with no tweaks so??) but there has to be a happy-medium.

That’s why I’m asking, what? Yes a few addons are dumb, even Iri, although I could argue they have niche uses which puts Billy in line with a lot of other killers still. Not every addons has to just increase or improve The base power.

    1. Movespeed bonus after breaking a pallet with your saw. (Purple)

    2. Silencing your saw when out of a chase instead of the 5 second charge requirement it has now which is useless. (Purple)

    3. Getting stunned by a pallet causes your saw to charge faster for x time/causes your heat to instantly charge down (Green/Purple)

    4. Keep sawing after sawing a pallet WITHOUT the weird speed limiter addition that makes it literally garbage (Iri)

    5. Large field of view bonus while sawing (Yellow)

    6. Chainsawing a Gen causes it to start to regress and you suffer no penalty for crashing into a generator (Brown/Yellow)

There. All of these are better than the GREEN rarity Mother's Helpers. "Niche" uses should not mean they only come up once every 10 games. It should mean it can be used in combination with other perks/addons to help you multiple times in a single match.

    Edited to add another idea.

  • I don't see a single post asking for insta or charge speed addons to be returned. Those people, wherever they exist, are dumb.

I see countless people begging for addons like Mother's Helpers to be redone because they're so useless it's comical. Both of his iri addons are useless and most of his purple are useless.

I don't know what I want them to be, but there has to be something between instasaw and getting a .2 movespeed when a rank 20 tries to blind you in a chase.

  • 1. Searching for perks

    2. Refund/crafting system for addons

    3. Colourblind mode for the visually challenged

    4. A change to the prestige outfits to make them look more unique similar to how Myer's mask is

    5. A complete rebalancing of addons/offerings/perks across all characters

I guess that last one is a bit involved...

  • I honestly feel like they just need to combine this and mangled into one perk and scrap hemorrhage all together.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

Having perks like Streetwise and Leader only take half a slot to allow for more perks would be really nice.

They desperately need to nerf the insanely good perks and buff the crap perks. That's all they need to do.

A crafting or refund system for addons has been suggested since the game was created and the devs appear to have 0 interest in doing this. I have 100s of brown addons that serve literally no purpose. Please let me trade them in for some yellows and greens.

No no there is a fuss about him not having good charge time or cooldown add ons anymore.

Can you point me towards the people complaining about losing charge time addons and cooldown addons? So far I've only seen people say it's reasonable to remove/harshly nerf them.

The OTHER addons they have added to replace them are LAUGHABLY horrible and have no place existing. It's like getting a delicious salmon dinner every night for 4 years and then suddenly you're served literal ######### on a plate after your partner mentions wanting to slightly tweak the menu, then they get mad at you for being angry at being served #########.

  • The nicest thing?

Probably "######### you you piece of ######### ######### trash killer die."

I'd rather not post the meanest thing.

Or we could stop whining about it. The changes to overheat are massive and the add-ons honestly aren't bad enough to get up in arms about. They're just less useful than before, but that was the intention; before his charge add-ons were extremely strong.

Yes, nerfing the charge addons were needed. Adding absolute bloodweb filler like Mother's Helpers and the horrible pink Addons were not. I am very happy BHVR has noticed the changes were too heavy handed, but to act like the addons aren't a big deal is just a lie.

I've said it earlier but it feels really bad when you are forced to pickup a slew of horrible addons in exchange for one decent addon... and honestly I don't even know if Billy HAS a decent addon anymore.

I'd have to disagree, personally. I've played other games that tried exactly that and it's great for the first few events. But after a while, it all starts to blend together and feel underwhelming. Events are special because they're limited time, but when there's always one going, at some point in just loses that charm.

It's like cake. Cake is good. Cake for every meal of the day is not good, it'll probably make you sick (or at the very least, sick of cake).

But to a lesser extent, I also just want to play the game normally sometimes. I love events as much as the next guy, but a lot of people want to farm during events to get as many BP as possible, and that would get really tiring if people were doing that year round.

Honestly Peanits is right. While I would say events lately have been rather lackluster feeling, breaks between events are needed and it should allow for better events if you give downtime between them as well as give people time to experience the game without added 'garbage'. That being said, events that are more involved would be nice. New game modes or interesting mechanics would be welcomed. The teleporting crowns were neat, but felt quite half baked and underdone.

We've taken feedback on add-ons as well, don't worry. There's only so much time to make changes between a PTB and the actual release, and that post is just for the changes that are locked in for the initial release. It's still possible that there will be some add-on changes in the hotfix, but I can't confirm that just yet. We could also make further base kit tweaks in the following hotifx(es) if necessary.

That's good. I hope to see a good amount of alterations to Billy's addons within the next month or so then because it really, really hurts spending bloodpoints on absolute garbage I'll never use because it's effectively an empty addon slot if I use it.

  • It's big that they're altering the heat mechanic to keep it from being restrictive, but they seem to still think the addons are good where they are which is laughable.

  • I usually run Sloppy, Pop, Whispers and Surveillance on Pig. Spies is weak IMO and I've never really liked Ruin, but it's fine if you're going to use Surveillance. I think STBFL is okay on any M1 killer, but I like applying sloppy a lot and moving between survivors when I play The Pig so it doesn't really fit my playstyle.

STBFL is decent on Clown since the slow from his bottles combined with fast recovery can make chases end quickly. Spies feels like crap, honestly. It's map dependent as all hell. I'd consider Brutal for Clown to speed through chases even more. Whispers is decent, but I'd change it to BBQ for the BP and aura reading.

Myers benefits from M&A thanks to his small terror radius in T2. You're going to want some kind of slowdown, like Pop/Ruin. Infectious Fright can be solid if you're using T3 duration increase addons since you can chain downs during your strongest point in the game. Discordance is a good perk to find the survivors quickly at the start of the game to start sucking them. Whispers is also good because of that. Myers is stealthy early in the game and has a very slow start but can quickly snowball if you manage to get to tier 2/3 fast enough. Perks that can delay the early game and track survivors is really good. The ol' Enduring/Spirit Fury combo can also be good on him.

  • It's one of those things the devs tack onto addons when they can't think of something else. The fact that it's a purple addon for pyramid head is laughable. At best it should be a brown addon, but in reality it shouldn't exist. Mangled and Hemorrhage should be combined into one status effect.
