  • It's absolutely ridiculous that this happened. My friend linked his account and suddenly we can't play together. I linked my account too just to see if it'll start working but now I just can't invite anyone.

How in God's name did that get past testing?

  • Honestly? It just sounds like you're bad at hiding and you're bad at knowing what to do at the start to stat hidden. Don't repair the first gen you see. Don't run everywhere. Don't crouch behind a tree so your arms stick out the sides etc.

  • I honestly think charms are pointless. Most are eyesores and just look weird. I got the first rift's little goo vile because it made me chuckle. I put it on Clown and that's pretty much it. I've got a pile of these charms with 0 interest in using them.

  • There really isn't much of a difference between lightborn then and lightborn now.

  • I have full Trapper and half of Hillbilly. I'm pretty indifferent to be honest. I don't even use them because if I do poorly people will call me a fake legacy user and be extra cruel. If I do well they'll just scream about how I'm a legacy player but I have to *insert excuse for why they lost like camping or tunneling* to win.

    I don't care.

Yeah but they did update billy and said they were going to take another look at the add ons. Not sure how much you know about coding but it should seem fairly obvious that tweaking numbers to adjust the overheat mechanic is fairly simple and straight forward while redesiging add ons, even 1 add on, would take considerably longer. So the ptb did its job, they adjusted billy and noted the add on issue. What were you expecting exactly? Had they released billy the way he was in ptb id agree with you

To be honest with you I was expecting the devs to understand the game enough to not even try to release addons as bad as they did.

How about delay releasing the patch until they've managed to come up with better solutions? How about tweaking the numbers to at least make the meme addon a funny meme addon? Anything.

  • Don't worry. They'll change it in a year or two when they have time.

Thats not completely true, peanits srated in a thread that theyre going to look at the add ons but theyd be updated in a different patch since they dont havd time to rework them before mid chapter

It's very confusing why they do this. They make a PTB and then still ship garbage to live. People can say it's to find bugs but every update introduces a plethora of them anyways.

Their track record on fixing things that are garbage is not good. I won't be holding my breath that we'll see the addons being changed any time soon.

  • Not a huge fan, but I'm not super into skins in general. The Greek theme feels weird and out of place to me.

    Some good looking skins though.

I watched that stream twice. He said nothing of the sort.

It could be 100% true the dude is just lying. If so Peanits is right in calling him out.

My point stands. A dev enters a thread, ignores the point the OP made and calls out a commenter about misinformation and leaves. The classics "We're listening to/Taking note of complaints." Has been said time and time again, most recently it was regarding Billy's horrible addons. It appears they decided we have no idea what we're talking about because surprise surprise the horrid addons are being shipped to live servers.

We've taken note of the feedback quite a while back, but creating lies to make a point isn't going to fly.

Considering it can take literal years for changes to come to blatantly unfun and broken maps I won't be holding my breath.

Also, have you considered they may have been referring to a dev stream Cote was on and just worded it poorly?

  • I'm disappointed that you came into a thread that has a genuine complaint just go call someone out on making stuff up... but also completely ignore the main complaint of the thread.

Why not also talk about the issue at hand?

Buff survivors and that will drop to 10-20% mark easy, with only the best of the best being able to stay in the 3k+ state.

This completely depends on what the buffs are.

  • @Clockso said:

you're kinda conflicting your points, you just said that survivors will be able to run more meta perks since they don't need aura perks anymore, then you said tht we should buff killers to compensate, so then meta perks won't be as strong if killers are buffed and there's nothing to worry about

    I don't believe I am.

I'm saying that IF we buff solo with a bunch of free information, solo survivors will be less inclined to run information perks and instead run very powerful meta perks. Even if we buff killers, we're now in a world where even more people run all those unfun meta perks and you might even be FORCED to run them to be able to keep up with a largely buffed killer role.

I believe the way to buff solo is to make weak perks good and strong perks worse.

  • Getting reported one time by some idiot isn't going to get you banned. I've been reported lots of times for the most random garbage and I've never even received a suspension.

You're fine as long as you weren't hacking.

  • @apathyinc said:

They shouldn't change the survivor base kit, this would take all the challenge out of the experience. Part of the fun for me is not knowing every little thing about what is going on in the match. If there is information I feel I really need, I can run a perk like Kindred or Detective's Hunch to compensate.

We already have the HUD which provides a ton of info if you pay attention to it. Hexes, obsession status, injured and hooked status, oblivious status, how much more information is needed before all the surprises are taken out of play.

I don't like the idea of a totem counter at all, at the most there should just be an audio queue when one is broken like when a hex totem is broken. Pay attention to the sounds and you'll know how many totems were broken.

The game doesn't have a difficulty selector, but SWF turns the survivor experience into easy mode. Buffing solo to SWF level would be like never taking the training wheels off your bike.

The issue is that the disparity between the two makes balancing killer a nightmare. If you make killer capable of vsing SWF consistently you're going to make Solo a nightmare and if you leave killer as is they're going to continue to get pushed around by groups. The reason buffing solo is prefered is because directly nerfing SWF feels gross, it's punishing people trying to play with their friends. Any solo buffing would require killer buffing as well.

The point of this thread is to just make it clear that the people demanding things like totem counters and kindred being base are being short sighted imo.

I'm just saying if you were to do it what buff could you even reasonably give killers the average survivor would just genrush since the survivor would know where the killer was

I don't know, but I'm also not asking for that so I'm not exactly sure why you're asking me that question to be honest. Giving them all what you listed would require some crazy buffs.

    @[Deleted User] said:

Buffing solo survivors means buffing the base movement speed of all killer, giving them access to more tools to get around pellets and generators.

If you are gonna speed up the survivors side killer side needs speeding up on chases and regression.

I don't think buffing the MS of killers is the right call.

I think nerfing very powerful survivor perks and buffing weaker information perks is a solid way to buff killers.

  • @terumisan said:

Well if you were to give killers all the aura buffs or bond/aftercare with kindred and make every survivor have obsession status (to let solos know when someone is being chased) what buffs would you give killers to keep up

I don't want that to happen, though. I specifically am saying we SHOULDN'T do all that.

  • I'm fine with the hatch existing but a few things should be changed.

    1. No keys.

    2. Less points.

    3. Points for killer on hatch escapes.

    Reasoning is as follows:

    1. Super unfun to get totally screwed by a 3 or 2 man hatch escape and you have 0 counterplay to it.

    2. It's mind boggling that you get more points for the easier way out. You should get less points for a hatch escape.

    3. A lot of the time when a survivor uses the hatch it's a last ditch attempt at escaping. The killer put you in this desperate position and you took the easy way out. I believe the killer outplayed you if you end up taking the hatch and should be rewarded for it. Not as much as a hook/sacrifice, but something decent. (Also might end with more killers giving the hatch to people.)

  • Hey, at least they changed the pig daily from killing survivors with a trap to ambushing them, right?

GF definitely needs to lose the leaning requirement for his daily. No idea why it has stayed. Demo shred too. Imagine if Huntress' daily was downing people with 20m or more throws.

  • It's currently the best it has been, but that isn't saying much.

The perk meta is stale as hell and they don't seem to care much. OP perks have been OP since they released and trash perks have been trash since they released. This applies to both sides.

Looping will always be boring to me as well. It's just not fun to run around unmindgamable piles of junk over and over again.

  • Spirit because I have poor hearing so it's very difficult to listen in spirit form and Nurse because for whatever reason teleporting causes massive amounts of framerate loss on my computer.

I dont think its that strong when each percent adds about 2s to repair time but ill give you that. Even if that's the design choice why not have the obsession start at like a lower percentage and not have the max benefit at the start.

Sorry, I forgot there are people who ACTUALLY think this perk is strong so my sarcasm was a bit trickier to detect.

There is no reason for it to have such a benefit for the obsession. Especially since you're supposed to ignore the obsession for the perk to work.

  • Because getting a 3% stackable slow on everyone is super strong so there has to be a downside to offset it!

  • Unintentional in all honesty. But it would have been pretty sly had it been on purpose, eh?

  • Yeah it would be neat. The entity is already pretty lovecraftian. Sadly I don't think we ever will because some people will lose their minds over it.

  • Kate, Jane and Dwight.

    I want to bang them.

  • I'd suggest looking at a way to contact a dev directly. I'd also suggest you tell your friend to not log into DBD for a while, just to show he isn't using any of the cheated in stuff.

But he gave out his information so that might make his position even worse. Not sure if that violates the agreement or not.

  • Buff the aura reading and less impactful perks while also giving a nerf to the momentum swinging and high impact perks. It would help the game immensely.

Im at devotion 955. On console theres 2 different trackers, one says 1900 the other 4500, im guessing the 1900 is more accurate but idk. Ill say too i didnt REALLY start grinding for it till devotion 2. Before that i wasted a bunch of bps just trying to get all perks on everyone. I think 1 or 2 had them all before i said screw it and went in

I'd assume it took 4500 hours unless you were super efficient with your BP gain. If I'm comparing it to myself and other people I've seen 1900 seems a little low for 100% prestige completion. Just a guess though.

  • @Booper_Of_Snoot said:

Because before this was removed, Legion could get to 8 stacks of STBFL in one frenzy.

Huntress could proc sloppy, and is this was removed, surge at any distance with no reasoning.

Franklins could be proc'd with a hatchet, which is also, kinda silly.

Of course, some things should be changed (Surge should not work with hatchets, but chainsaws, Remember me should work with hatchets and saws,)

basic attack requirement for exposed is within reason. On the PTB with Demo, you could proc it with his lunge, and well, it wasnt very fair.

Pigs lunge can be god tier, and also shouldnt proc Exposed.

Whilst some should definitely be changed, like third seal, and surge, I completely understand the system we have, and as much as a QOL would be nice to have, I understand devs probably have a main course of better things to be doing.

"Pig's lunge is god tier and shouldn't proc exposed."

What am I reading? I can't believe people think ambush is good. If you manage to hit someone with ambush it should instantly kill them and uninstall dbd from their computer.

  • After I read the first half of the first line I just stopped reading.

  • People like to blame SWF for their losses too much, but it's also absurd how many people don't realize the huge amount of FREE info survivors in a group get. If I got to choose between going against a group that got free Kindred, Empathy, Bond, Aftercare etc so they can run all the meta stuff and not miss out on vital info... Or a group that is forced to choose between these aura perks and the meta perks, I'd pick the second option every time.

Imagine if every killer just got a bunch of tracking perks for free so every single one could run 3 slowdown perks and NOED every game. People would be pissed.

  • Old Freddy was dumpster tier with an absolutely 'snack or famine' playstyle. Self care was meta at made him a joke. He had tracking that was rivaled only by the Doctor but managed to have worse chase than him. He got absolutely thrashed by """definitely not autoaim guys!!!!""" Locking his swings onto awake survivors. He had to ask survivors permission to hit them and half the time they'd break out in your face because for whatever reason they could wake up during the transition. His end game was atrocious if not everyone was asleep. You could thoroughly explain him to me for a year and I'd still stare you in the face and tell you he was trashola.

This is coming from someone who played him almost exclusively for a better half of a year.

  • Yesterday I was hooked in the corner of the swamp and the Trapper placed two traps right in front of the hook not in any grass, just mud. I had kindred so everyone could see the Trapper spend 10 seconds placing traps around the hook. Someone ran across the map full speed directly into one of those traps and got downed. We lost off of that despite only having one gen left and 4 people alive.

  • Tenacity isn't UNUSABLE, but it definitely should receive a buff.

I thought it would be neat to make it so you could repair/sabo/cleanse while in the dying state with tenacity.

  • There obviously needs to be more of a cooldown between how quickly DS can aim down his sights. I don't think him being able to shoot quickly is an issue, but spam aiming to get easy distance is really lame. Of course you need to then compensate it with a buff. Please don't just nerf him with nothing in return.

PH is similar. There needs to be a cooldown between pulling his sword out of the ground after leaving trails and being able to swing an M1 attack. Again, they need to make sure to buff to compensate if they go ahead and nerf this.

Their zoning is really unfun, imo DS is more of an issue with his M2 spams.

Thanks all of you for the comments, the 4th one i wanted to be like (No Mither) a handicap perk.

If a survivor is a solid looper I honestly think it's not even a handicap perk. I'd suggest making it even more detrimental.

  • 'Member when you couldn't actually kick gens and people could 99% 5 gens and all you could do was stare at them? I 'member...

  • I've always felt that 'tapping' gens shouldn't remove the regression. A sparking gen should need to be repaired for 2 or 3 seconds before the regression is removed and you can start repairing it again. The regression could be halted during that time so it isn't an auto 3 second of regression if people feel that's too much, but I don't think it is.

It really does inflate kill counts. I see so many games where NOED can secure an extra kill or two all by itself.

But when you mention this to killer mains it goes over their head and they refuse to see any changes to the biggest crutch on the killer side.

I honestly believe the very obviously weaker killers who weirdly have high kill counts are hurt because of this perk. It needs a change, but frankly most perks in the game need to be buffed/nerfed. I'm tired of seeing the same perks every game.

    Killer main btw

It’s info swf already has. Solo q desperately needs some help and bringing them up to swf levels makes it easier to balance the game.

I agree fully. But just giving everyone SWF info would require massive killer buffs/survivor nerfs across the board. The reason survivors lose games is almost always them using their time incredibly inefficiently (due to lack of info) or being too altruistic. The more info you give to survivors, the more efficient they'll get with their time and the harder it gets for killers.

  • I think they're all very interesting ideas, but Without Fear feels a little strong. Not seeing scratch marks in chases is very powerful.

Love the art, love the uniqueness of the perks. A+ post, but probably in the wrong forum category.

If you guys added a baseline totem counter, point 1 would be solved.

I think we need to be careful about how much information we hand over to survivors for free. A big part of the game is using what information you have to intelligently manage your time.

I totally agree solos need some love, but free info can really tip the balance.

Hes barely been nerfed though. They caved in to all the pressure.

Right. Me, personally, I don't go against that many actual campers. Actual campers, at least. I do get a fair few "I don't get it, I sprinted right at the hook before the killer could leave and now he's camping" campers, but that's totally fair and I'd blame my teammates in that situation, not the killer.

    ######### I like peanits now??

  • Most people think they're better than they are.

  • The grind needs to be lessened for new players, especially killers.
