everyone screaming nerfs at everything lets just make them unable to attack, they just have to watch us do gens and escape. game is unfun and unbalanced if everyone cant escape 100% of the time obviously this needs to happen...
I mean, I've seen people say "This killer is unfun to play against because they never meme"...so may as well remove their ability to kill, and turn them into circus acts for survivors amusement.

I think it would be cool if survivors were slower outside of chase.
It's a good idea in theory, but in practice it would end up how Legion was at launch. Back when deep wounds would go down when not in a chase.

Then how about my add-on? I believe it's pretty fair :3
Addon balance is a different conversation. I think Carb Tuning Guide should be made an ultra rare, bubble cap (the yellow charge speed addon) should be made a green addon, and the rarity of the ultra rares should be cranked up.
It's his base kit I think should be left alone.

Doctor isn’t getting buffed. He’s getting changed to make him more fun for Survivors to face. They didn’t do it for regards of the killers fun.
Again, perspective. Some of the best Doc mains in DBD believe it's a buff, and loved PTB Doc.

Yes let's all ignore the fact Doc is being buffed, a sign many more killer buffs are in dbd's future.
Doc is being buffed, but that's a perspective thing. His changes suit some peoples playstyles. Others straight up like him the way he is now. You can't please everyone. It's more or less on par with what he was, strength wise. His position in tier lists is the same.

You just called 90% of survivors salty children.
Now we're on the same page.
-
Billy is already balanced. His base kit does not need a cooldown.
I also highly doubt they change his base kit. It's only bad survivors who think it's not balanced.
-
I mean, he's not wrong. Every time you guys nerf a killer that *doesn't need to be nerfed* (which in Hillbilly's case, he is the PINNACLE of balance), killers will bring meaner and meaner builds to punish all survivors. Until eventually all killers are nerfed, and there are no killer mains left.

He can teleport. Only to gens, and has dream pallets, or snares. These only work in the dream world, though. Most of the time, chases aren't even in the dream world started.
Honestly, I think people are just whining because they can't bully a killer that outplays them.
To add to your line about snares and dream pallets - small game detects both of them whether you're in the dream world or not.
You're exactly right though. This shows the lengths entitled survivors will go to in order to complain. Something that is COMPLETELY outplayable, they just don't want to learn how. Better nerf it then, lol

What about when chasing a survivor, also survivors have maps and perks to help then find it, the killer have only the ears
You have ears, movement speed, and freedom of movement.
Now, I personally agree that if no gens have gotten done, the hatch shouldn't exist. At least one should get done. Especially once ruin is gone. Without ruin, there's no excuse not to get at least on gen done, I don't care how good the killer is and how potato the survivors are.
But finding the hatch...if you're not finding it first the majority of the time, there's an issue on your part.
-
All true. They'll never admit it, but it's all true.
-
I usually am not one to side with the devs - but honestly they are right on this one. The hatch opens, and you have, as a killer, all the tools to get there first. Movement speed, the ability to move freely without being threatened etc.
Get there first, dude.

Huntress is a lot like Nurse in that her skill cap is very high. A S tier player can be S tier with Huntress.

It's not a lack of any side. I don't know why people just assume this because they want to act like killer players are extremely oppressed and now are quitting when that isn't the case whatsoever. Its solely because of the matchmaking changes. Low ranks are experiencing the exact same problem, but in reverse. Killer queues take years to get.
Tofu has zero background in video games other than playing them. He admits to barely having a high school education and prior to streaming, worked in a warehouse stocking shelves so he could pay for his move to Canada and stream full time living with his significant other. I'm a Tofu fan, but playing a game doesn't make you an expert on it's backend or netcode. No offense to him of course - but he has zero qualifications other than having a verified badge on twitch, and a fog whisperer logo. Neither of those mean a damn thing. They don't magically make him know things. Saying any of that gives him any authority is like saying you learn how to run a restaurant by watching Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I'm not saying he's wrong, I'm just saying he pulled that out of his backside, because it has no observable basis to back it up. What I said does, and is therefore (whether you like it or not as a tofu fan) more credible.
I do have experience with the Unreal Engine, but of course I'll admit that doesn't make me an expert either. However - if it was solely matchmaking that was the issue, survivor lobbies wouldn't be so painfully long. They are long because the matchmaking algorithm is doing it's job and looking for better suited killers closer to their level. The issue is, it's not finding them.
There's not many of them left compared to the number of survivors. This is why sometimes you'll actually get a quick lobby as a survivor. There was a killer near your rank actually available. As it stands now, there simply aren't many red rank killers floating around. They've either switched to survivor due to imbalance, or have went to play Civilization for a while. The matchmaking is doing what it needs to be doing - it's looking, in stages, at different groups of levels. After a while, it opens up to high and higher levels until eventually a group of red and purple ranked survivors gets matched with a yellow/brown rank killer. Why do you think they wanted to hide the ranks in the post game lobby?
This is literally how they explained matchmaking working; and this is a far more logical explanation than that of a person who only has any credibility because he's a fog whisperer, and not because of actual knowledge.

I dont flashlight blind, but if i would, i do it to either safe a teammate or to blind the killer to get distance on him.
I dont tbag.
You seem like a decent person. Now let's do this from a killer perspective:
"I tunnel the weakest because I want to pressure your team and eliminating someone fast is the optimal way to do so"
"I don't camp, but if I would, i would do it when I hook someone, and i know their team mates are nearby waiting for the unhook"
Killers would be scrutinized for all of that, lol

Just because he hooked someone doesn't mean he deserves to like remove almost half the progress of a gen completely on the other side of the map. And why am I going to sleep without him touching me? His entire kit is overbearing and obnoxious.
BTW, the clock is always on the opposite of the map. Obnoxious!
Just because you have DS for 60 seconds doesn't mean you deserve to escape even if you weren't being tunneled. Just because you are being chased, doesn't mean you deserve adrenaline when the generators pop. Survivors crutches are overbearing and obnoxious.
See how that works? I can do it too.
The sleep bit is within the lore. You get tired in the movies, you experience sleep walking, or "micro naps". It's part of the lore.

I don't know if you actually read what I say tbh.
I said "I just feel like he has a little too much and ALL of it just revolves on making the game slow to a crawl. That's why I find him unfun."
Also many killers earn a pop but they don't get to just TP to a almost done gen and pop it.
Once again, the cooldown is significantly reduced because it goes faster when people are in dream state, and most of the game EVERYONE is in dream state because of how fast the timer is.
I don't see why you are complaining though. Gens already get repaired RIDICULOUSLY fast, the ruin is about to be gone. Yet...you're STILL upset just because a killer has the ability to pressure generators? What exactly do you want? For him to go back told Freddy? To be an M1 only killer? To have no power at all?
He has gen pressure, so you don't like him. That's all I'm seeing here. Survivor is more than just holding M1 when you're facing Freddy, and it's almost like it's too much for some of you guys. Like, I honestly don't understand why you want everything you guys refuse to learn to play against changed.
And then there's the whole "no skill required" bit. I don't think survivors get to criticize anything skill related. Not when BT, DS, toolboxes, insta-mettles, small game (which works on snares, AND dream pallets, by the way) the hatch, and flashlights exist. Actually, flashlights are one of the few things that take skill for survivors, so I take that one back.
You have all the tools at your disposal to make the game fun for yourself. It is not up to the killer to play in a way that amuses you. They aren't clowns there for your amusement.

If it was 89% he would teleport before you finished it, and it is completely on the other side of the map. PGTW and now it's about 50%.
And? He earned the pop. He just hooked someone after a chase with two hits. I don't see the issue. He can't spam this ability either. It has a long cool down. This really does sound more and more like "I don't want to adapt, so I'd rather ask for a nerf instead".

Survivors will rock a commodious tool box, BT, Unbreakable, exhaustion perk and DS in response.
They already rock all those perks and use the commodious. None of which do anything against slugging in the long term. As for the commodious toolbox, those will likely get the insta-heal treatment soon. As they should.

I mean, there are killers where healing is the best strategy (Oni-chan, baby!!). If you decide to stay injured that's a risk on your part.

Besides, if you think Freddy is unfun...after ruin goes, survivors are about to have even less fun, since slugging and tunneling will likely become the new meta.

Alright let's ignore his kill rates and how long those games go on for.
The "FREDDY IS COMING" right in front of my eyes doesn't matter. He just stopped a nearly completed gen while being on the other side of the entire map. And the cooldown is significantly reduced because everyone is always asleep, so that really doesn't matter much.
But nah, it must be only me right?
He didn't stop a gen. You stopped working on it. A lot of the time if it was "90%" as you say, you can complete the gen before he even finishes the teleport.

You make him sound ridiculously OP. He's honestly not. His saw gives him good pressure. I'd also say the hitbox on it is a bit too big. Otherwise he's not that bad.
The hitbox isn't even that big, though. Most of that is desync. Sometimes the saw will be close enough to shake the hair on their back and it still won't count as a hit. Other times the saw will count as a hit from 25 feet through a window. Desync man, not the hitbox:P

I've actually been pretty civil here. I haven't been rude, I haven't called you any names, I haven't even been facetious. I'm disagreeing with you based on your debate strategy in previous interactions we've had. That is not an attack. I don't appreciate you accusing me of something I have not done. I'm sorry if that offends you, it's obviously not my intention, but it is what it is, I suppose.
Belittling - dismissive of the importance of a person or thing. I'm not dismissing anything. All I literally said was don't call someone else out for doing something you do frequently. It's not fair on your part. Criticism =! belittlement. If you don't like someone politely calling you out on a double standard like this, then maybe you should be more impartial and make a habit of being more straight up with your words.
In any case, my point still stands. Billy is easy to go against. It's so ridiculously easy to force him to M1 you it's not even funny.

I think you missed the part where I said I was fine with going against any other top tier killers.
I can walk past a dream snare and still trigger it. Either make the visual bigger or reduce the hitbox.
I'm aware all killers have the same lunge range. It just looks terrible to get hit out of thin air.
Scrap the pop, even just tping to a 90'd gen for free (because time is reduced based on how many people are asleep and that sleep timer is already really fast) is lame and doesn't require skill. Maybe if clocks didn't ALWAYS spawn on the other end of the map and your timer was paused during chases I'd be okay with it.
It's not for free. It take a few second to fully complete the TP, and it has a long cooldown. It also gives a huge "FREDDY IS COMING" right in front of your eyes. Clocks are MEANT to spawn on the other side of the map. It's called balance.
It's not Freddy that is OP, it's you having all the tools to combat him fairly, and not knowing/wanting to learn how to use them.

I didn't know I wasn't allowed to have an opinion anymore without the consensus being that I want "easy killers".
I don't mind going against any of the top tier killers. A big part of that is having games not last forever. Another part is Freddy's dream snare hitboxes not even matching the visual of them. Another part is Freddy just being able to tp to a 90'd gen and pop it immediately for free without skill involved. Another part of it is Freddy's lunge hitbox not matching his actual lunge.
Sorry I have a different opinion on what's "fun" to play against.
Nobody said you weren't allowed to have an opinion. I personally just asked you a question.
- Freddy's dream snare hitboxes are the same as trappers trap hitboxes.
- So, the ability to apply gen pressure bothers you. Okay. Let me ask - what's skillful about looping and holding M1 all game? What's skillful about borrowed time or DS? And it's not for free. If Freddy has pop, he just chased, caught and hooked someone. He earned that pop.
- ALL the killers have the same lunge range. If you really want to talk about matching how things look, we should go back to only being able to unhook survivors from the front of the hook. Even more, did you know pallets don't actually have to be touching killers for them to actually stun the killer? Don't be so one sided. For balance reason, they all have the same lunge range.
You do have a different opinion, and that's okay. I'm just of the opinion that judging by what you're saying, you simply don't like a killer that you can't bully and genrush like any other M1 killer.

Yeah, a 20% gap between the maps means absolutely nothing. Freddy having the highest kill rate in the game meant absolutely nothing. He got nerfed right after they released the stats, because they meant nothing. You can't even draw the slightest conclusion from any of it.
A 20% gap provided by statistics that are literally said to be inconclusive by the people who published them.
So yes, not significant, at all. Unreliable and not representative of real life, because things weren't taken into account.

I’m rank 5 survivor now. Rank 12 killer and find survivor harder, even getting matched with rank 4-8 survivors regularly. Maybe you need to realize not everyone has the time to play enough to get to red ranks, and devs need to consider this as well.
that being said, I truly believe there should be different killer perks and add ons that unlock at red ranks because I know playing killer at that level is difficult. They just don’t need those perks and add ons at rank 14.
I'm going to assume you're fairly new to the game. How many hours do you have?

Lol. I think it's enough to be statistically significant. Anyone good can realize why Hawkins is a garbage map, and literally easy mode for the killer. Every pallet is unsafe, and with dedicated servers, unsafe pallets are extremely unreliable to use. There's like 2-3 rooms where you can run the killer for a minute or two at the most, after that, the whole place is a dead zone.
No, it's not enough to be statistically significant, because even the developers said multiple factors were not accounted for. Therefore, your logic is paper thin when using the stats as a backbone.
Again - the map isn't a problem. The problem is survivors (lack of) ability to function without being able to run and hide in loops with god windows and safe loops. Hawkins simply evens the playing field. Whoever outplays who, whether that be the survivor or the killer, will come out on top.
-
@Apple2o said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010008#Comment_1010008
Yes, Hawkins, with an average 70% kill rate, is a very balanced map. Do you think sanctum of wrath, where there's usually about 6-7 pallets total (with 2-3 of them being unsafe) is a good map? They are slaughtering grounds for the most part, unless you have a full team of very good survivors. And with the matchmaking, that almost never happens.
Oh okay. So you're going to grasp at the stats, that even the developers who released them said should be taken with a grain of salt. AKA - meaning they are inconclusive at best. Remember this as the moment you threw the debate.
I play solo, exclusively. At red ranks. I'd say I have about a 50/50 escape/death ratio with Hawkins. It's not the map that's killer sided. The map is balanced. It's the survivors who can't do anything without endless safe pallets and god windows. Imagine actually having to think and be strategic as you run a killer.
-
@Apple2o said:

Because most killers, along with the survivors, are bad as well. You should never be getting looped as Freddy, unless you are on a map like Thompson house where there is safe pallet every 5 feet.
"Maps like thompson house" make up for about 3/4 of all the maps in DBD. Only RECENTLY have balanced maps started becoming a regular occurrence, and even on Hawkins, I can loop pretty much any killer just fine. I just can't do it the way I would on other maps, and I can't loop the same way against every killer, and that's where your logic breaks down. You expect to be able to loop every killer the same. No, they have different powers, and different strategies for defeat and defence.
Again, learn. Get better. You'll be better off than having the devs nerf something because you refuse to adapt.

It was all at rank 1. There is nothing you can do against a snare spamming freddy if you are asleep, and he has a brain. You can only go tile to tile, which isn't possible on many maps.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1009972#Comment_1009972
They still knew to go loop the shack, use insta heals, run to the infinite, etc etc. Still rank 1's.
So basically, all you proved is what everyone already says and knows. It's way too easy to rank up as survivor.
Also - if it's so impossible to loop a Freddy "spamming snares", how do people manage to do it? How do I manage to do it? I'd bet @Mc_Harty manages to do it as well. How do all those Twitch streamers do it?
Also - snares have a proximity, like trapper and hag traps. They can't be placed so close together that they even come close to touching. Again, adapt. Learn.

Yes all killers need to have an instadown as their primary attack and be able to cross the map in seconds and back again.
Balanced for a 4k.
That's not even remotely what they said. If you have to put words in peoples mouth, you have no argument. Then again, you had no argument anyway when you said Billy was OP. Hey, if you have issues going up against him, I'll say it again - you need to learn to get better at survivor. Billy is every bit as easy to loop as any killer. Soon you'll be complaining that Trapper has traps.
I never said Billy wasn't good. I said he wasn't overpowered. You can be good, and not overpowered (I know, crazy right?).
If you or anyone else above green ranks is having that much trouble against the Hillbilly of all things, no disrespect, but you do actually need to get better, because right now, complaining about Hillbilly shows where your skill lies; and it's not good.

Because how dare killers have the ability to shut down ridiculous loops, apply gen pressure, and kill survivors. How dare they be more than a mere clown to amuse survivors.

Well games supposed to be fun for all players, so people will want to play it. If a killer is decimating lobbies at rank 15-20, it’s not fun, so they fix it. The issue is some of these killers need to be op for red ranks but there’s no system in place that doesn’t just nerf killers regardless of ranking.
Balancing for new players is not how you balance for a game that is 3 years into it's lifespan. It's people like yourself that just need to learn how to play better, rather than have everything nerfed to suit their current skill level. No offence.
