you can carry a vaccine spray unless the wesker also has franklin demise. you can often drop a strong pallet then spray yourself as the killer breaks the pallet. for example, coldwind farm has the cow loop. drop cow loop pallet then spray yourself.

nothing really needs to change, just survivors need to adapt to the ability.
lol I know that. I was not GIVEN the chance to do this. I was first in chase, and the only one in chase all the way till being killed. I never even got to open a chest for a spray.
-
@Jangles said:
Yeah they really need to either remove the hinderance off the infection and/or remove killer instinct when you use a spray can (why is this even a thing?)
Yea it’s pretty wild. I wasn’t even given the chance to spray. They should atleast halt the infection if you get chased within a certain time of being unhooked. It was literally impossible to escape, and I’m pretty strong in chase. I was just fully infected wayyy too fast and the hindered effect is no joke.

Gen rushing isn’t a thing. If you believe survivors are finishing gens too quickly, run more slowdown perks and focus on pressuring gens (that means keeping survivors away from them by chasing them off or kicking them). Try to create a three-gen so you have an easier patrol radius. You’re faster than survivors, all you need is map awareness. Good luck :)
I disagree. Saying gen - rushing isn’t a thing is quite literally the same as saying tunneling isn’t a thing. Is tunneling not, “kill survivor rushing”? Lol. Killing the survivor is the killers only objective, much like gens for survivor. If a team bring a kit / loadout or a play style that is solely focused on pushing gens, that is most definitely gen rushing.. because they are actually rushing.. the gens. 😂
Some teams just seem a LIIILLLLL too fast with it.

I’ve still gotten them. No issues on my end.

Yeah, 30 series will be more than enough muscle for a while, and I9 or Ryzen 9 will be as well. Heck, even i7 or R7 probably would be, but future proofing on the CPU is advisable.
But anyway, the great thing about building a desktop is being able to upgrade it piecemeal as things get outdated, rather than having to by a whole new system.
It's just way more economical in the long run, and you'll almost always get better performance dollar for dollar.
And even if OP doesn't want to build, you could still pay an SI for a pre-built and come in under budget.
Absolutely. You wouldn’t have to replace or upgrade with a 30 series and i9 for awhile. I’m currently running a 3090 with the i9. Overkill for DBD, but I stream and game off the same tower so it helps to manage everything easily. Also let’s me play CoD and battlefield with a nice FPS.
-
How do you know they’re “very subtle cheaters”?
-
I will say I have been skeptical in some of my games. I main blight with TONS of hours with him. I am able to keep steady and heavy pressure majority of the time. I end chases quickly and use BBQ so I can instantly pressure another survivor. But every now and again I will get a squad that no matter the amount of pressure I put, they FLY through the gens. I mean it’s gen after gen. We’ll get to the post game and I’m expecting full gen builds, and as you said, nothing. Very suspicious.
There was one instance a couple days ago, gens were absolutely flying. I was already skeptical of a hacker. I downed somebody as the last gen pops, I throw them in basement and camp the stairs to try and secure a kill. Sure enough, the David comes teleporting in for the unhook, and teleports back out and escapes. He said he turned the hacks on because I was a terrible killer who had to resort to tunneling and camping. 😂 So ironic.

Hey there all, looking for advice on a new laptop to play this game on.
My personal laptop (3+ years old now) was under the recommended requirements for this game anyway and the recent update makes the game near unplayable.
With 3k saved up (I've been looking to replace my old laptop for a while now, to get better graphics and because I knew this day would come eventually. I'm very surprised my potato laptop was able to run it for so long...), what can I get that will run this game well in your experience?
Many thanks in advance and apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum to ask in.
Advice is to not get a laptop. Get a desktop build. Get a 30 series GCU with an i9 and you’ll be solid for awhile.

Yep, happened to me while streaming yesterday.

My biggest issue is I used the green flashlight which increases 20% accuracy, with the add-on that increases accuracy by another 40% and still ended up with the flashlight pointing directly at the ground. I had a killer who let me test it out on them. They stood still and I couldn't get it to aim at all. It would bounce off their face and into a random direction.
As someone who is currently in college for my bachelor's in game design, I can't believe this was released being as broken as it is. But I guess the Halloween outfit update was more important than making sure content is released without flaws. Profit over game health.
Yes, this. It’s like the aim is completely off now.
-
I hate the flashlight changes. I understand why, but the flashlight just feels so clunky and weird now. Very unresponsive. I feel I have to completely relearn flashlight saves now. Something just feels off.
-
It’s really not in that bad of a state lol.
Some of y’all are so dramatic.

the funny thing is, there are a lot of beginner nurses too and when nobody disconnects you get a 3 or 4 man escape.
Yes, this. A beginner nurse is by far the easiest killer to escape from. I always wait to see. I’d say 8/10 times it’s a nurse that’s not so great.

You only get the 10 second stun if you tunnel at 5 Gens. Dont tunnel at 5 Gens and you wont get a lengthy stun.
Is it really that easy? Yes it is.
I don’t tunnel at 5 gens. But there are plenty of times that somebody will get unhooked and run straight into me, unhooker nowhere in sight. What am I supposed to do, completely ignore them?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I have proposed something like this in some thread, but a bit different. Basically, Gens remainingx2 as Stun Time. So at 5 Gens, 10 second Stun and lower the more Gens got done. With 0 Gens to go, 0 seconds Stun, so deactivated.
I’m all for reverting the change.. but 10 second stun is absurd.

I like to break this cycle. As surv I won't tbag or torch click, and as killer i won't hit on hook or nod etc. Unless the player in question has been BMing me in which case i definitely will, because i like to see toxic players given a taste of their own medicine. But I'll never do it unprovoked, and as killer I'll pretty much always let 4th survivor go unless I'm sweating a challenge/pips or they were toxic.
You and I are the same. I don’t BM unless it’s constant BM from them. Some games as survivor I will teabag and click at the killer mid game. It’s not out of BM though, but more so trying to get them to commit to chasing me because the team needs time to finish up a gen or get an unhook.
But no matter the team / outcome, I always say ggwp afterwards.
-
Its always been a concept of multiplayer vs gaming. The winning team talks trash / taunts their win at the losing team. Cod, halo, DBD, WoW, literally anything. Some people don’t, a lot do. I also think it’s a cycle.
for example; (A) group of survivors is beat by (A) killer. (A) killer taunts that group of (A) survivors by hitting on hook, nodders, post game chat etc. (A) group of survivors then goes into the next game against (B) killer and beats that killer. That group of survivors, still salty from the last killer will taunt their win at (B) killer. The cycle then goes on and on.
Of course there are always the gamers that never do it either way, but they are the minority.
-
I don’t think too many things are TOO strong. There’s things that are stronger than others. I think there are things that are rather TOO weak. All the super weak killers should be brought up to blights basekit level. How we would do that, I’m not sure. Same with survivor side, some things are too weak. DS should be reverted back to 5 seconds. I’d say you could probably leave perks like OTR and what not active in the end game.
A GREAT nurse is too strong. I will agree there. But then an ok nurse / new nurse is the worst killer in the game.

Not trying to be mean here but if playing with people other than SWF is a detriment to you then why are you playing at all? Not everyone is going to be good at everything you do. Even worse is making it sound like people are beneath you if they don't play the way you play. Now I could be wrong but you come off very egotistical.
Well like I said, I play killer 80% of the time. You’re taking what I’m saying out of context. If you have a choice between solo q and SWF, you’re obviously going to play SWF. Why would you NOT chose to play with teammates who you KNOW you can depend on? Sure I can get good teammates on solo q, but I can just as surely get teammates that feel mismatched or out of place in the lobby. Nobody is beneath me lol, we’re all gamers. I just like to play with other gamers that are on my skill level, survivor and killer alike. If I get matches against a killer who is on par with me, but my teammates are a couple steps down, it’s a guaranteed BRUTAL loss. Nobody enjoys that on either side. So to avoid that, I play SWF.

Sorry, might have been more accurate to say you were dismissing them as "but then"s. The entire point of my message was to not internalize those types of things beyond your control and instead own everything that you actually can control.
Well that’s why I’ve turned to SWF. I don’t have to worry about the things I can’t control, you know? I have teammates that I know I don’t have to worry about being on gens while I’m in chase, and I know that majority of the time I can do my gen uninterrupted because they also know how to loop.

You had an excuse for every solution, then pivoted into talking about how you now play swf due to an implied impossibility of being able to offset bad teammates. My point has always been that it is possible to do so, and you kept firing off "ok but what ifs" as responses.
Edit: I have plenty of sympathy for people who get bad teammates, before that assumption gets made. I just would rather be constructive and make the most of my agency rather than simply commiserate and accomplish nothing.
I think you have me confused with somebody else. I don’t remember any what ifs I’ve said. It is extremely difficult to offset terrible teammates, especially with a killer that will not chase me because he knows he can kill the others then worry about me later.
I play SWF exclusively because I have tons of friends of equal skill. No point in subjecting myself to the potential terrible teammates of solo q when I have competent ones to play with.
Other than that, I’m primarily a killer main anyway.

And you're claiming it never works out without needing to resort to swf? or just that you'd rather focus on the worst that can happen instead of adapting as the situation presents? You can come up with "what if's" all day, but using them to dismiss strategy is limiting yourself.
what are you talking about? What never works out?

I dont see survivors ask for basekit Hope, basekit OTR, basekit auto DH.
But I see killers ask for
- basekit Bamboozle
- basekit Noed
- basekit Crowncontrol
- basekit Corrupted intervention
- basekit Ruin
- survivor should die on first hook
- kill 2 survivors and Enity kill the other 2
- 120sec Gen
while they already have
- basekit 2 stack of STBFL
- basekit Tier1 Brutal strength
- basekit 10% PGTW
- 50sec Gen
crazy, almost like killer got some slight buffs and many of the killers still get stomped on in game.
The game is literally riddled with posts of “survivors should get x as basekit.” The only time I see killers say the same is in response to a ridiculous request by survivors. I’m in the forums quite often, and I see most posts.. There’s no denying what is posted..
-
Might as well just give survivors basekit DS, basekit Hope but active all game, basekit OTR, might as well throw in auto DH basekit as well..
You know what, take the gens away. All survivors should have to do is load in and open a gate to escape. Don’t forget the gate starts 99’d.
You see what I’m getting at?
-
Just don’t cleanse plaything, and have some awareness. It’s not hard.

thats them adapting as well. You then take advantage of that immunity
Which I do… then somebody goes down in 10 seconds of chase, while the Claud urban evasions around the edge and the other guy in a locker lol.
I exclusively play SWF now with equal buddies so it’s not an issue personally anymore. But I feel OP’s pain.
-
@Ryuhi said:
Get chased on purpose then. Never hide in lockers, and metaphorically Tpose at any killer who dares try to find you with an aura. If you ever feel that your teammates are bad in loops, that means you need to be willing to step up and cover that weakness. The required skill to hold M1 on a gen is considerably lower, so its where you want less skilled teammates to be as often as possible.
I do this all the time, but the killer often times will literally avoid me the entire match to get the weaker survivors.
-
Y’all just keep on reaching for more. Greedy greedy survivors. Lmao

Cause I can put logic onto whatever is being discussed... can you?
Yea there was a lot of changes but did it help the game... from what I have seen no...
6.1.0 only changed what perk you used... not the strats used (for the most part)
And now they are on a slippery slope by adding in basekit BT...
If it's "looking good" then why are there players complaining about camping and tunneling still... complaining about Nurse and Blight still
Some of those changes only made camping and tunneling better... so where are those changes... what about maps (or the lack of them)
I may have stopped playing but I didn't stop looking at what other people do and say...
How could you possibly know.. there has been major changes since you’ve played. You don’t really have a place to stand on with this discussion.
-
I love being tunneled. I’m pretty strong in chase and can usually punish the killer for 2-3 gens before they either give up or I get adrenaline. Depends on map RNG as well.
-
I have been having a lot of fun. I primarily play killer, and play survivor when my buddies are on. Killer can still get stressful when playing against a coordinated team (if you care about winning). The skill ceiling I would say has gone up from a year ago.
Survivor as solo can definitely be rough, hence why I only play SWF.
I would overall recommend coming back and giving it a try. :)
-
Kermit the frog.
Wields a crude wood axe as his weapon.
Power: Enraged by a cheating pig, Kermit’s physically abilities are heightened. Hold and release m2 to jump over objects (including jungle gym walls), press m2 again to immediately follow up with a leap attack that will injure survivors.
Kermit has voice lines that he will say throughout the game, as well as letting out a maniacal laugh that can be heard around the map that grows in insanity as the match progresses.

Deathslinger has a gun. A GUN. That he can shoot people with at the drop of a hat, through the tiniest of holes in any tile, drag them towards him so they make no distance, and get free hits and deep wounds without even having to hit them.
At what point do we as a community need to say "no" to this kind of buff begging? Slinger is fine, squarely above average, he just takes a bit of practice to play. More killers should be around his strength, not less.
Lol is all I can do at your comment. 😂 Ignorance is bliss I guess.

He’s a fun killer until you get the team that knows to just hold W as somebody said above. Then it’s just a nightmare.

@Ayodam said:
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a survivor DC or give up on hook when the survivors are winning. It makes no sense why they would. If it happens, maybe they have to quit/leave because something is happening offline.
Happens all the time when I’m playing killer. Atleast 1-2 times a day, the first person I down in a fresh game will immediately DC.
-
Sometimes it’s completely necessary to tunnel. Personally, I will start off every game spreading hooks. It’s pretty easy to tell early on if it’s a coordinated team that’s playing well. If nobody is on death hook by 3 gens left, or dead by 2 then I gotta get somebody out. 4 good survivors at 2 gens left is borderline unstoppable.
On the flip side I made rank last night so I can play more lax, and don’t care too much about doing well or winning the game. But I do understand why killers tunnel. Hard tunnel at 5 gens is definitely scummy though. We can agree on that.
-
Low mmr = killer sided.
keep going and eventually you’ll start getting stomped. Then you have to decide whether to quit killer like most, or learn and get better.
-
If I’m pushing to iri 1, I’ll let them reset. But once I hit rank, just kill kill kill. Don’t care about BP.

Bro a killer can literally down or Survivor stand by the hook waiting for another Survivor to come and get the rescue and down another Survivor at the end the killer will have 20K blood points the survivors will barely be pushing 10K
Again, nothing to do with the topic. That’s the killer’s right. He can camp if he wants, he can tunnel if he wants. And again… join a SWF. Sounds like either you, your teammates, or both are lacking in skill level. Just practice more. It’s very easy to run a killer for multiple gens.

Still has nothing to do with the topic. As I said, join a SWF.

Outnumbered really you have Supernatural powers use them
And I do…. But it’s still 4v1. The survivors are easily able to dominate the macro game (game objective / gens.) In return, the killer has to dominate the micro game (1 on 1 interaction / chase).

4v1 ok yesterday I was in a match with 3 friends they are friends I don't know them they body block me so the killer can down me then teabag me while I was on the hook oh yeah not to mention the killer camped me then u DC ok the killer let them live its not team base like you saying bro
Well I’m sorry you got sandbagged. But that has nothing to do with the topic. That doesn’t happen often. If it does, join a SWF. Problem solved.
-
Sorry that’s just a bad idea. Not being able to change your loadout while in lobby? Seriously? All that will do is cause lobby dodging. If I see 4 flashlights, I’m throwing on franklins. If I see 4 toolboxes, Im going to put on more gen defense. That’s the right of the killer because he’s outnumbered 4 to 1.

Double standard again
The survivor is the team of 4,so what? Killer also have powers, which survivors don't have. They already have much more powerful perks and add-ons to compensate for the disadvantage in numbers. As illustrated by the killrate of 61%...
You say that items should be hard-countered because they are optional and getting hard countered doesn't prevent you to reach your objective. OK let's assume that makes sense.
But then, killer perks and add-ons are also optional, right? And they do not prevent you from winning, in fact many streamers got 10+ kill streaks with perkless/addonless M1 killers.
So BY YOUR EXACT SAME LOGIC, survivors should be allowed to see killer perks and add-ons in order to hard counter it.
You are not making an argument, you are just enumerating random survivor advantages, and concluding that killer should have the same advantages, but not realizing that killer also has advantage which survivors don't have.
Dude… it’s literally 4 v 1. There’s not a double standard.
-
Huntress - iri head is so much fun.
Wraith - silent bell and hidden terror radius for 6 seconds.
spirit - MDR and 70% increase to duration.
blight - comp 33 and alch ring
i usually run addon-less 90% of the time though.
