I faced one and he was leaning from a corner and only a leg was behind cover so I turn the camera to face him and even my character and yet nothing it wasn't until I got exposed that it started saying he was getting revealed so am I missing something.

Nah that sounds about right. What I've found is that I have to tilt my camera slightly up almost looking at the skyline before it lets me reveal him and even that changes based on proximity.

And then sometimes I just reveal him and didn't even see him to begin with. So it's a hot mess

  • You are the teammate we all dislike.

We know it's boring as hell but if you DC, the killer then has a lot of free time to steamroll the rest of the team in a 3v1 with 5 gens to do.

Dying on hook on hook and going next will take less time than waiting out the DC penalty so you might as well just die, give your teammates a fighting chance, and them move on

  • Dead Hard was always a mid perk

2k/2 escape should be the ideal of balance in a game that has 2 sides

BBQ is an A tier perk even without the BP bonus

Bleedout mechanic is outdated and should be removed. It made sense when hooks could be permanently sabotaged. Now that hooks respawn, killers shouldn't be allowed to just knock someone down and leave them until they die

  • Wraith is not OP, nor is his silent bell.

The only iri add on at needs to be nerfed (yes again) is the Clown's Pinky finger. It needs the Iri Head treatment.

Max should be like 2 bottles because it's wild that we all agreed Iri Head was unfun and too strong on a slower killer but we're someone fine with a normal speed killer having 4 or 5 bottles that slow you down if he misses giving him more chance to catch you and then 1 shot you

I'll give it a look. '4 days' is what I'm most curious about, as whatever you're doing, it's something that even Otzdarva and his group didn't think of (it took them 5, under fairly optimal conditions). That's a 20% difference.

It may not have actually been 4 days (I think I initially said 4-5 days in my initial comment anyway), but it only takes me a few days of gameplay to get there.

Mind putting your handle in this thread? I'm really curious how you are racking up numbers like that, as even the HCS team didn't pull it off in 4 days, and they were playing as a coordinated group, on smurfs, with their #1 priority after surviving being score.

My twitch name is the same as it is here. And I play a mix of solo and SWF although I primarily prefer to play SWF because randos are ass most of the time.

On the days I play, I tend to go for like 6-8 hours depending on the day so that probably also has something to do with it

  • Heal tech doesn't need a fix. It's something that literally only happens if survivors manage to make it literally INCHES from the exit but need a little time to crawl.

This happens nowhere else on the map and is such a non issue.

I wouldn't have let myself stay in the game that long, I would gladly take the 5 minutes.

LOL well the way I saw it:

    1. They do it to upset people and I'm petty enough to not let people see me upset
    2. If they're holding me hostage in the game, then I'm also holding them hostage by keeping them in that game with me. So technically I was holding them hostage while I continued to have a good time doing other things

    Solo or in an SWF?

That said, 4 days is dubious. Even on killer, playing quite a lot it takes me about 6 or 7 to hit Iri 1.

Do you stream or something, because clearly you're doing something differently.

EDIT: Yeah. Now that I think about it, even Otz and his mates doing the HCS, which involved completely fresh accounts (and thus being against rather new killers for half the time), in a full SWF made of some of the best survivors around, playing marathon sessions every day - it took them 5 days to hit Iri 1.

I do stream (just finished one actually) but idk. i jsut survive a lot and get lucky with hatch when my team is bad

  • I don't play as often as I used to but it literally takes me about 4 or 5 days after reset to hit Iri 1 on survivor every reset.

    Nice. As whom and where?

I used Pyramid Head and it was on Yamaoka (the variation with the giant temple-like building in the middle with the stairs)

My build (although a little silly) was Ruin, Retribution, Plaything, and Pentimento. Full Hex build. Retribution/Plaything is slightly redundant but meh.

I didn't light any Pentimento totems until I had 2 people dead and there were 2 gens left. Made it a lot easier to just circle the map relighting all 5 totems they destroyed

  • this is bait right? Literally every new killer that comes out, comes out with amazing perks while the survivors get memes and garbage with a few gold nuggets every 3 survivors released

  • I'm ecstatic about the new changes. Unbreakable needs a nerf but everything else is fine and imo, people are as always being dramatic about anything new.

"Well, but the time I chase my 2nd person and slug them, the first one is back up" Solution: hook them and don't leave them on the ground unless they're under a pallet and you're chasing someone away OR there's someone close by with a flashlight. And 45 seconds is plenty of time to do either of those. you don't NEED to have a 2nd person on the ground to pick up your first one

  • @monroa said:

I actually typed a gigantic answer to this and answered your assumptions but I just don't feel like it anymore, just play as killer, actually rank up and stay there playing to improve the mmr and then see if it's really that easy to play as a killer. Either way, have a great week and hopefully great games :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3201166#Comment_3201166

I play killer and do quite well in my games actually. But thanks for the unnecessary advice. Have a good one : )

  • I assume the auto-mori will count towards the Devoted or whatever the category is called for hooks.

As far as farming with the last survivor, the only thing you can't do is down them. Gen tapping and kicking gens, pallet breaking, and all that is still on the table for farming.

I don't know what game have YOU been playing. Out of 10 matches I played yesterday I only died twice, we were a SWF and the first time I died was the 1st match of the game and the killer face camped me since 1st hook. The other one I died trading hooks with my friend that was in the basement because I made a poor decision while tying to save him, if it was not for MY mistake I would have escaped that match as well. It is still hard out there for killers I really don't know where you see that this game is easy for killers, I guess that maybe you're a main surv? That's the only reason you would say something like that.

    1. Your personal survival rate does not mean the kill rate isn't high. That would be like me take my multiple 4k wraith games and saying "Wraiths should all get 4ks because I do"

    2. In those games where YOU escaped, did everyone escape or was it a 1 man escape, hatch escape, etc? Because you escaping. Because 1 person escaping or barely escaping doesn't counter anything I said

  • Depends on what boring strategy killers will use next to make the game boring or drag out unnecessarily 🤷🏾‍♂️

These things wouldn't be made basekit if people didn't tunnel and slug so much

  • "Omg the game is gonna die": Says someone literally every update.

The game will be fine and in fact better and healthier.

Slugging has not been removed. Slugging indefinitely is what is being targeted and that is perfectly fine. You don't need to leave anyone on the ground for more than 45 seconds. It doesn't take that long to chase off a person with a flashlight. If it does, that's an issue.

You don't need to slug for a 4k. You down the 3rd person and don't know where the 4th is? Hook them. Play the game out and let it end however it ends.

This is not a game killer, trust me

*BHVR incrementally removes all recourse for playing killer without camping or tunnelling*

"If YoU hAvE tO cAmP iTs A sKiLl IsSuE"

What game have you been playing? Gen times increased, buff to gen kick speed, breaking pallets and walls, and 2.5% for a gen kick ALL came out within the last like 3 months.

Again stats were just released that on average, 61% of survivors are dying.

So like I said in the current state of the game, if you're performing terribly, that's a skill issue in the literal sense, not as a meme.

  • @Seraphor said:

I don't see how this is healthy in any way.

Will you still be laughing when you're camped out every game because killers now have even fewer tools to apply pressure?

Trash killers already camp first hook because they're trash at the game.

The Game is the easiest it's ever been for killer with killers sitting around 61% avg kill rate. If you feel you have to camp in the current climate of the game, that's a skill issue

  • Too long. Make it 30 seconds 👀

  • Best update in a LONG time. Spending 4 minutes on the ground is a snooze fest. Put me on the hook.

I'd rather die in 2 minutes than be slugged for 4

  • How is cheating NOT an issue? I'm a small streamer and I still deal with cheaters. Two of them just yesterday alone (One survivor and one killer)

The survivor completed all the gens and escaped immediately. The Bubba was flying, knocking down multiple people across the map, and doing all kinds of wild stuff. Luckily in both cases, the game ends quickly and it's a relatively minor inconvenience in comparison to the hackers who hold games hostage for 2 hours until the server shuts down

It's not that I want people to agree with me, after all, I'm not the voice of the truth, but I see that people like to reject ideas more than approve them, when someone has a good idea, no one comments on anything, but to reject ideas lots of them appear, people should have a less hostile mindset, if the idea is bad, they can comment, but if the idea is good, I would like you to comment too

you have to admit that my idea is not bad, in old META it could work, just like I admit that in the current META where killers are thriving and many newbies coming to the game my idea can get in the way, but I commented on it to get the opinion yours

Except this idea is bad in any meta because the way skills checks work already is fine.

No feedback needs to be given because nothing needs to change and it's fine the way it is

  • Yeah I constantly have a mix of matches of Demo puppies that I can loop for 4 gens and Wraiths that crap on the entire team with only 1 gen done

  • @JoaoVanBlizzard said:

I had already thought about beginners, so I mentioned the technical perk, and the Corrective action perk, just use these perks,

I didn't post this topic to hear people disagree with the idea, but to give ideas, so with all due respect, I didn't need to comment

If you posted to get ideas, you have to accept the fact that SOME of those ideas might be in opposition to yours.

Pretty much you're saying you want an echo chamber of people who only agree with you..... yea okay

  • If they're not going to give us a skin this month, they could've at LEAST given us like between 30-40k iri shards so we can get an entire outfit or two of our own

  • you DIED with 20k points. you played a full game. The only person who didn't have a riveting experience was the poor Dwight who probably got tunneled out the game with 8k

  • I actually got this one first try. It's not too hard if you get a killer who has to swing through pallets.

Run Head on so you get a free stun, then you just need 3 pallet stuns or try to get a 2nd head on at some other point in the match. In an act of desperation, you can also run Decisive Strike because that is a stun. It's a garbage perk now but it'll work for the challenge and no one expects you to have it anymore because of how trash it is

  • The math ain't quite mathin here.

A gen takes 90 seconds solo. And you said that the whole team had medkits so not toolboxes or BNP in play. Only 2 people had Prove thyself....

How was your match 3 minutes long??? were you standing in a corner not pressuring anyone? and even then, I still don't think you can get out of a match in 3 minutes

  • I've never been a Blast Mine user but it is funny to watch the killer grunt or scream when they kick the gen and just stare for like 2 seconds before kicking it again. Like, you can tell they're cussing out the survivor in their head XD

  • My main confusion is how No Mither is placed above so many perks when it's literally a handicap to your gameplay.

Even the one upside of the perk means nothing because everyone knows you can get yourself up and won't leave you slugged. It's a meme at best, and basically a killer perk at worst XD

  • Jokes aside, it sounds like he went into this match for the content purposes to record how fast you could do a gen with:

A toolbox, double extra charge add ons, Hyperfoucs, 4 stacks of Stake Out to compensate for any missed Hyperfocus great skill checks, resilience for further speed boost..... you see why this is not something you'll see very often right?

No one is running this build regularly every match

  • oh so my MMR is tied to my gen speed? didn't know

Must be a skill issue because my gen time solo is still 90... damn

  • Survivor: 7 (sometimes a 5 on my bad days)

Killer: 6 but only becauae I play killer less.

The only change i really dislike is them reverting MoM

AA nerf kinda sucks because of the reason why but it's whatever to me.

All the other changes especially the bloodweb changes seem amazing to me

I didn't even mention the Bloodweb cost reduction. Another huge W this update

  • Unpopular opinion apparently but I think this was a good change. While Nurse benefitted from it the MOST, she is NOT the only killer who could make use of it.

A Blight with Starstruck, AA, Lethal could use those 4 seconds just as easily. Spirit could easily make use of that combo. Hillbilly could make use of that combo even if he misses the chainsaw, he'd be on your ass in seconds while you're exposed.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Killers also camp because BHVR doesn’t want them to know where the survivors are when a killer hooks someone. Instead of being shown a direction to go in when a survivor is hooked, killers are expected to just wander around the map and hope for the best. This is why awakened awareness just got nerfed.

People keep talking about addressing the reasons why killers camp and tunnel, but so far we just keep adding penalties for the killer, instead of giving killers ways to make it easier to find a new survivor to chase so they will have a motivation to leave a hooked survivor.

BBQ still works perfectly fine. Used it on huntress 2 days ago. If your aura reading isn't working, you may want to check if they have distortion or report it as a bug

(sarcasm, because you LITERALLY have always had a perk to show you where to go for years)

  • Yeah, that's cap.

Even killer mains will admit they tunnel simply because they want to make the game easier for themselves. Has little to nothing to do with toxicity

  • I've escaped a lot of trials without ever being down once. It's not often but it happened easily more than once every time I play

  • @SuzuKR said:

On several occasions, you have stated that hiding and refusing to attempt to repair generators while the hatch has not spawned (thus making it impossible to start Endgame Collapse) is against the rules because it is refusal to participate in normal gameplay and holding the game hostage. You have stated it needs a video report and can be potentially bannable on a case-by-case basis. That is all fine and dandy.

However, for the one stuck in that game, there is no good solution that currently exists in the game's base line. If a person does not happen to play a killer or run perks/add-ons that would have helped in this situation (eg, Doctor, Whispers, Iron Maiden, etc), they are just screwed. Survivors who intentionally hide in this manner also intentionally avoid AFK crows from spawning by walking/crouching around/swapping lockers/etc to give no possible information if the killer isn't lucky enough to be close by at the time to hear breathing or locker door sounds or whatnot.

Are there any plans to make some sort of in-game feature to deal with this? I am curious to hear on that, and if not, I would like to ask you to consider it, as it can end up in absurdly drawn out games of 10-20+ minutes of nothing being done and not being able to find anyone, especially on larger maps. It pretty much only gives an option of DCing, AFKing, or playing until one side finally gives up.

Probably a controversial opinion here but I'm going to assume that there's only 2 survivors left when the hide and seek began because hide and seek with 3 or 4 survivors left would be silly (but not impossible) .

Going under that assumption, there's 2 possibilities for why the hide and seek game started.

    1. The survivors are just scared babies and they know there's no possibility gens will get done so they'd rather hide. Solution: you'll find them eventually, just keep searching (I DO happen to run whispers every game but even if you don't there's only so many places to hide and half the killer roster has teleportation or fast moving abilities to get around the map at this point)
    2. The killer wanted to slug for a 4k and waste everyone's time instead of just hooking the 3rd person, the survivors were able to pick up and heal that person somehow, and then they started the hide and seek game just to be petty and deny the killer a 4k, matching the killer's petty energy. Solution: Don't slug for a 4k and stop wasting people's time and just hook the person you downed UNLESS you have immediate knowledge of exactly where the last person is already.

So with that said, no new solution is required.

  • A perk that hard counters face campers doesn't need a fix

  • @jajay119 said:

What perk are you talking about?

    Reassurance, I believe it's called

  • You're unskilled and boring. We get it.

Nothing anyone is going to say will actually convince you because in your head (and out loud), you've already stated that when you sit down and open up DBD, your only mindset and goal is "I need 4 kills". I'm assuming you're also the type to slug the 3rd survivor and search for the last one for 4 minutes because allowing even the chance of hatch is a loss for you.

No one can convince you that you should care about other people just like in life outside the game. You either have a mindset that empathy is a good thing or you don't and that says some things about your character. Have a good day and make sure you have a towel nearby for that sweat

  • There were a lot of hate comments in the stream (DBD community being toxic as usual and only wanting to hear about DBD and not BHVR's other projects) and a LOT of comments were deleted and users probably banned.

My thing is, even if you don't care about the other content they're advertising, what good does it do to go in chat and be like "snooze, nobody cares. Get to DBD already"

They have a set program and they're going to stick to it. Also DBD is not the only thing they care about.

  • @pooPyrus said:

I just got out of a game of solo queue where the wraith I was playing against decided to slug the entire team for 4 minutes with 3 survivors down. Is the game supposed to be this toxic? If so I think I’d like to know so I can quit.

Some people are just toxic/boring on purpose because they didn't receive enough love or something as a child.

Played against a Wraith a few hours ago who ran Knock Out, Third Seal, Sloppy Butcher, and something else and just went around slugging everyone over and over, and didn't even hook people after the whole team was down. Like idk who hurt them, but they need to go to therapy instead of taking that out on other people by playing like that. It isn't fun

  • How to buff him:

    Step 1: Don't.

    1. No
    2. Hellll no
    3. You want another insta-down on a range killer? no
    4. Deathslinger cn go to hell. No
  • Well this is a new take I've never seen before. So killers are now complaining they aren't getting enough BP and THAT'S what makes the game boring.

Prior to the update, killers were walking away from just about every match with like 25k BP if they had an average match (before BBQ and offerings factored in) while survivors even on a good match could barely scratch 20k (not to mention the poor sucker who got camped or tunneled and died with 4k BP.

If anything they fixed the BP gains now so survivors who actually live can come out with 28K BP the same way killers have for the entirety of DBD history.

  • @rydiafan said:

The existence of counterplay doesn't change the fact that this change means Thana will only be run on the two killers who were specifically called out in the update as being problematic when using it. BHVR took a perk that everyone could use, but a couple killers abused, and made it into a perk only those two killers will ever use, and one of them barely cares about the change at all.

honestly, I'm okay with that because I was tired of seeing literally ever killer running Thana. that perk is annoying as hell and i hope they kill it so i only see it when I see a Legion (although I also hope to never see Legions)
