  • Love going against: (in order) Huntress, Bubba, Blight, Pyramid Heads that use their m2 for more than zoning, Hillbilly's who use their chainsaws for more than traveling, Myers, Oni, and Average Nurse players who are decent but not gods at blinking\

Hate to go against: LEGION (especially with Thana + 3 other slowdowns + the add on that leaves you broken after mending + add on that makes mending slow) SNOOZE, Pinhead, Twins, Deathslinger, Trickster

everyone else is neutral and depends on individual playstyles of the users.

Right, this isn't for everyone, it's for people having a hard time. Once you become better at the game, and better at sort of reading everything that's going on around you, you can start removing perks. You can remove the bond, you can remove the sabo. This build is for 2 things, 1 it allows you to survive, and 2 the sabo gives you something to do to help your team, while giving you lots of information.

That's fair and these perks are definitely a good combo for information

    1. This is a great build however, people shouldn't have to run a specific build to escape or "win"
    2. I do appreciate your addition of saboteur because it's my favorite perk in the game and I use it on every build
    3. I personally have more fun messing around than playing gen jockey which is why my current build that I've been messing with is: Saboteur, For the People, Quick and Quiet, and Head On) <3
  • 99-ing hooks.

The way I had every hook on the map ready to drop at will.... killers HATED me XD

  • My friends and I got RPD back to back 3 times in a row with no map offering. Then some rando had the audacity to bring a map offering in the 4 time for RPD and the rage i felt

  • @Veinslay said:

BS. High MMR survivors are having zero problems now that they've adjusted to not having dead hard for distance

I swear there's one of you in every thread.

    OP brings up game issue:

Random guy: blah blah blah Dead Hard.

bruh nobody said anything about Dead Hard. go away

  • @Mandy said:

Ok after discussion, yes these perks should definitely work together and you shouldn't have to start the heal first...so I've gone ahead and reported that in as a bug.

    Thanks Mandy <3

  • @lauraa said:

I remember hearing Otz mention that you might have to actually heal for a quick moment using WGLF before you can pop FTP, but whether or not thats true is beyond me. if thats true, that kinda severely limits the perk atm...you literally dont have time for that when using FTP.

thanks for the info. Yeah, i just instantly used the perk while the killer was chasing someone else out the gate. If I knew i had to heal a little first then pop the perk, I would have done that. oof.

    The more ya know

  • Nice nice. I'll drop by when i get the chance.

I'm pretty much a "summer" streamer (teaching during the school year is so draining XD) but i hit that go live button here and there for potato gameplay XD

    It should not depends.

In any pvp game you should have some sort of good sport vibe. You're ruining the game for everyone in the lobby, if you don't care... Them must be you should think of rethinking your ways to approach such games.

You should be at least ashamed to do such unspots things.

I'm not telling you to care about killer fun, at least care of your teammates who's got to have you.

    "Good sport vibes"

People using thana Legion are already not having "good sport vibes" and are using that combination because they know it's annoying and a pain in the ass. Killer camping and tunneling people out of the game at 4 or 5 gens remaining aren't having good vibes. Hell people are making post in the forums about how camping and tunneling is still "the best strat" and is even stronger now.

No one in this community cares about "good vibes" in case you haven't noticed so please get off your pretentious high horse

  • Depends on this situation.

I had one game yesterday where after 3 or 4 thana Legion's in a row, I came across another with Thana and the second I saw Dying Light pop up, I just said no thanks. Stood still, let the killer find me, and got out the match. I'm not interested in a 20 minute match.

  • Trick question: it doesn't.

For real though, censoring algorith OP. pls nerf. It not only blocks cuss words and slurs (as it should), it also blocks certain perk names, people's usernames, things like "face camping" or "tea bagging", the word kill, and things that are just apart of the vocabulary of the DBD realm.

Why can't I say "thank you for face camping and killing that Dwight, he was sandbagging us" in the end game chat???I'm discussing things that happened during the course of the game XD

  • @HectorBrando said:

One massive red flag for bad Killer players is if they are using the Frosty Eyes cosmetic, they also universally paired with NOED.

My friends and I literally call them "NOED eyes" and I forgot they had another name

  • Bro, even as a survivor main, I know this proves nothing. It's Nurse. A good Nurse can beat ANY team with any perks, items, and add on combinations

If you said 300 wins in a row with Trapper, I'd be a little more impressed.

  • I tried that like 2 years ago to see if there was a loophole. you lose the tier 3 after the Mori

  • This is the dumbest conversation I've seen in a while. Are yall trolling?

Heal teching is an exploit now??? Something that is so situational, it only works if the survivor is 2 inches from the exit.

As many other people have said already: Can a killer kick a gen while a survivor is on it? Can a killer hook someone while a survivor is mid sabo? If someone is interacting with something, you have to get them off before you can interact with it. That is consistent across DBD interactions

Even though build itself exist since forever and nothing really changed except 2.5% thana buff (which translate to sub 4 seconds), and worked for like 80-90% efficiency even before update.

It's stupid but probably not strong or oppressive, tbh.

Judging from your use of "probably" in this sentence, I'm going to guess you have yet to play AGAINST it.

Go against a Legion running Thana, Jolt, Eruption, and either Overcharge or Pentimento and come back and tell me about the joyous experience and how it supposedly isn't busted

I'm sorry what did you want? Them to just delete every slowdown perk from the game?

I don't agree with effectively removing pop and ruin as well as weakening other slowdowns being "not really an improvement".

Like survivors are still running exhaustion, second chance, and healing perks. OTR is the new second chance perk of choice, BT actually got buffed, CoH is still here, Unbreakable is still here. Just because it's the same category of perks it's "not really a nerf"?

Both sides are running the same types of perks. But other perks got more viable and the meta got weaker. Its not like people are running Premonition and Deja Vu with a map now.

But I am seeing a lot more variety than before, which is good.

you're lying if you're claiming Survivors are running the same perks. I've seen all kind of variety in survivor loadouts and very little in the killers because the perks just got replaced with other perks that do the same thing

  • Not the big ones. I know of all of them. I'm looking for new people to watch and smaller streamers

  • If the killer is thana Legion, I'm not playing. Anything else, I agree. I refuse to play against thana Legion tho and will attempt Kobe's any time I see one.

So in short as the first response said..... no. Also, no but in Spanish.

Since OTR is trash and over hyped, I assume you'll never make a post about tunneling, correct?

Lithe, OTR, prove thyself, and either something that helps with unhooks or with healing. I like deliverance.

I'm obviously anti-tunneling but I don't think OTR is a good as people hype it to be.

If the killer is camping and someone pulls you off hook, you get basekit BT. If you get hit within those first 5 seconds of being unhooked, you take an endurance hit and from my understanding, they removed the ability to stack endurance hits so you wouldn't be able to take a 2nd endurance hit with your perk.

Let's say you make it past the first 5 seconds but you get hit anywhere between 6-15 seconds into being tunneled. Congrats, that's the same benefit you'll get from a teammate simply bringing new BT. So again nothing special.

This perk only really gains value if you're being tunneled and can go more than 16 seconds off hook without taking a hit.

Then what if the killer doesn't tunnel you. Well you either A: Go do a gen or something useful and cancel your perk or B: Chase the killer trying to make use of your perk and waste time. The perk is mid at best and I'd still argue C or D tier

  • Can we stop this "It's just 10 seconds per gen" thing.

That doesn't take into account that chases were buffed (attack cooldown, distance survivors run away, breakable wall kicks, etc) so killers are getting in and out of chase faster and pushing people off those gens. It doesn't take into account that you can sometime get 80 seconds of work put into a gen, get forced off of it and have that gen go back to nothing and have to do that entire gen again from scratch. It doesn't take into account the new buffed thana that makes that 10 seconds PER GEN even longer.

Theoretically, it's an extra 50 seconds. In reality, it's extra MINUTES of work that depending on the killer and their perks, can be near impossible to complete

  • This sounds like a cry for help. Blind twice if someone is forcing you to type these things 👀

  • @Gary_Coleman said:

I'm consistantly getting 4 gens done by myself in soloQ survivor games. If anyone could just do one gen we could potentially escape. I'm not even using tool boxes. Everyone dies with 1 gen left, every game I've played tonight.

The extra 10 seconds isn't that big of a deal. My build has been Lithe, Windows of Opportunity, Boon: Circle of Healing and Alert. Nothing spectacular. We don't really need 3 people to run the killer every game.

I'm even unhooking and healing people while I get 4 gens done. Even against Nurse. I need your help with gens. Thank you.

Question: how do you think you're being given that time to do said gens?

Because what this sounds like to me and what I hate to see in my games when I play survivor is myself and one or two other survivors are on death hook taking turns in chase and there's some survivor urban evading around the map (sometimes doing gens, most of the time not) who hasn't taken aggro yet and needs to take their turn in chase so someone else has a chance to do gens.

Trust me, I hate when my teammates don't do gens as well but if you're doing 4 gens solo, then someone or multiple someone's are buying you hella time

  • 100

  • Unless they have a bunch of matching names or told you they were a SWF, you're just making an assumption.

Also you've clearly never played against a Thana Legion with stacked gen regression and slowdow. I won't do it again and will attempt to kobe as soon as I'm hooked every time I see one

SWF is inherently busted in some forms, not just looping. It renders some killers powers almost useless (ghost face, pig stealth, myers stealth, Trappers traps,) in a SWF 90% of the game you have info on where the killer is and you can almost always have some one on gens with no risk . You can organize body blocks mid chase and overall are just more efficient.

I don't deny that being in a SWF makes coordination easier.

But if you read what OP said, they're making hella false claims and assumptions that need to be corrected. And that's not even getting into the nuances of a 2 person vs 3 person vs 4 person SWF and how the experience differs for all 3 of those scenarios

because it didn't changed NOTHING, that's why... this change only worsened the solo survivor experience while SWF won't have troubles in the slightest... quite the contrary, with the slowdown perks nerfed into the ground they'll have an easier time (at least those who know how to play efficiently)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3081069#Comment_3081069

not true because i'm explaining why the game is in this state imo:

1 SWF is busted, you like it or not this is the absolute truth (even the devs admitted this with their "statistics")

2 most of them are toxic (but here i'm talking about personal experience since in all my 2500 hours i've faced only 6 swf teams that were chill or they were memeing around, everyone else was a SWEATY and toxic tryharders)

3 you don't have any proofs about it and as i said before solo survivor should be buffed accordingly, in that way everyone can have fun and who want to play with his friends can still do it in a custom match...

Also even though it wasn't addressed to me, you're on something if you genuinely believe only solo players were affected by these changes and somehow SWF players magically aren't affected by increased gen times

Plus you failed to mention that while some gen regression perks were nerfed, multiple perks were massively buffed to take their place essentially keeping the meta the same

    Lmao dude are you serious.

    1. SWF is not inherently busted. If I grab 3 of my friends who all have less than 100 hours in the game, even with my telling them exactly what to do and where the killer is, their skill and inability to loop won't make any of that info useful

    2. Just like you said for my #3, you have no proof of that statement and it's literally just anecdotal and biased. "Most of them are toxic". How do you know? How do you even know which ones are SWF and which aren't because I've had killers accuse me of being in a SWF while playing solo because I'm just a good player who knows how to coordinate. Your statement reeks of personal bias and is anecdotal at best

#3 I don't need proof of this statement because you can literally ask the community or just read up on old threads. Trust me, you're not original around here. People have been making "delete SWF threads for YEARS in this forum and they are always met with a wave of backlash because a large amount of the playerbase just wants to enjoy the game with their friends. Prior to SWF being added, people would just leave lobbies over and over until they got in one with their friend

  • @Tostapane said:

if you don't have anything constructive for the thread then don't wrote anything at all thanks...

The thread itself is not constructive because there's been a million of them.

    1. SWF does not equal skilled team

    2. SWF does not equal toxic

    3. Removing SWF would literally kill the game as many survivors would simply stop playing because playing this game without friends is dreadful

Just SB (Best exhaustion currently why would you not run it) & OTR should get you lots of value by itself it just combos well with deliverance. There is no way you get "zero value" unless you're in a complete deadzone and killer has complete LOS on you which SB will help prevent letting you use the old iron will bonus.

Old DS was the same thing but everyone still ran it even if it got no value. The aura reading protection and iron will stay even if you're not tunneled so you can travel to and work a gen while being "Off the record" and you might even get value if the killer comes to that gen soon after you 80 seconds of ironwill either way.

Doesn't the perk disable after you touch a gen or do pretty much anything? Or am I thinking of a different perk?

  • OP wants a bonus incentive to engage with the rest of a team once they find one person because it's too cumbersome to walk to those highlighted red objectives called generators on the map where survivors are most likely to be and would rather wait for people to come to their campsite where they pitched their tent.

My response was simply you shouldn't need an incentive to engage with the rest of the game because that's where the fun is. Engaging with the other players and the map tiles

  • @LeFennecFox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080960#Comment_3080960

You delay the killer while getting lucky break, iron will, and an extra health state wym? Even when being hit immediately off hook you should still get enough distance to start looping. A really good combo I've been running is Deliverance, Sprint Burst, and OTR.

Example from a match I had:

Ran pig for 3 gens and had deliverance up and she facecamped. She stepped a few feet away for a second so I get off hook and used sprint burst to reach tiles and started to loop for a minute just playing safe and dropping pallets early until she hit me and proc'd OTR so I was able to reach even more pallets. I waited until she was attempting a mindgame and just left buying more time with the ironwill/lb. By the time I was downed again the gens were done and my teammates double saved me and I was just out of the gate.

So it's good when stacked with 2 other perks to get use out of it.

Fair enough. I'll consider it average then. 🤣 I'm personally not a fan of any perk that struggles to get value on its own. It also gets no use at all if the killer decides to not tunnel you but that's another point entirely

  • @Davenport916 said:

Laziness? LOL. Just to be clear, we are talking about videogame here, not a job or a chore. I don't know if you are aware, but some people play to have fun. Yeah, yeah, I know hard to believe. Not gonna waste my time on something not fun.

Hilarious to talk about games supposed to be fun while ignoring the fun of the player you're camping. That's my entire point.

The game is supposed to be fun. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to look around a tiny map and get bored that easily. Therefore I suggested allowing the player on hook a chance to play the game and have fun (ya know, the thing you're so worried about) and go after someone else. Especially with how mindlessly easy it is to 4k now

  • @LeFennecFox said:

Off the record (Def not a trash perk lmao), Deliverance (Was already amazing before now with OTR if they tunnel you many gens should pop), Sprint burst/Lithe, Prove, BT, Botany (Healing creep moment), Adrenaline

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the OTR because I've yet to hear or see a scenario where you can gain a lot of value from that perk.

Unlike Saboteur which I get a lot of value from every game consistently. In fact I had a game last night on Garden of Joy against a Bubba who was only able to down 2 survivors the entire match. Now because I happened to be in the right place at the right time, I was able to get 2 Sabo plays thar deleted all the work he had put into those 2 downs.

When I see OTR have even half of that kind of value, I'll consider it a good perk

I guess you didn't read the post you replied to. Searching the map is precisely what I find boring, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

Nah I read it, I just think that's laziness.

  • Things you aren't taking into consideration:

    1. Every SWF is not a 4 man SWF. Today I played with one friend. The shared knowledge is only limited to what me and my friend see.

    2. Sometimes I and others play in SWF WITHOUT comms. We could be sick, sore throat, or just not be up for socializing but we want to play with someone we know is reliable.

    3. A point I will emphasize on every one of these threads: SWF does not and will never make up for raw skill. A group of friends playing together could have one pro player and 3 noob or average players and no amount of communication will make up for the fact that those lower skilled players are dogwater at looping, hitting skill checks, knowing the exact timing to go for a save, and just general game sense. You can't talk skill into someone and idk about your friends, but if I tried to tell my friends what to do in game, they would tell me to stop backseating them or they would stop playing with me.

  • If you don't immediately see someone in the surrounding area, just walk away and search the rest of the map. You shouldn't need an incentive to not play boring

If you can't find anyone during your patrolling and the person gets unhooked, then go back and see if you can find the unhooker or the unhooked person. Ain't that hard

  • Oh this is standard Trickster gameplay. He takes no skill to use already and somehow everyone who mains him manages to be a camper or a scummy player

  • I also want to note real quick that I'm not asking if there is a meta so I can use it. Just looking to see if anyone has noticed any trends.

I never used the old meta outside of BT which was a must if you didn't want to throw and get your teammate tunneled.

From my observations, I've seen actual VARIETY. Hell I had a match today where 3 people had For the People which is a perk i love and I was here for it. I honestly would love if they did the same thing to the killer meta more effectively so that we get some actual variety there because I'm still going against the same crap from before with an occasional swap of Jolt or Overcharge in place of pain res. I wanna see Dark Devotion or something unexpected 🤣

  • My build prior to the patch was BT, We'll Make It, Saboteur, and Diversion (I never used DH,DS, Or Iron Will aside from getting adepts or doing challenges so the nerfs don't make a difference to me)

With BT becoming next to meaningless, I've swapped that out for For the People and every now and then when I want to play sweaty, I'll swap out Diversion for Lithe (I've always been in the Lithe > Sprint burst camp) or Botany Knowledge

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

OTR, Lithe, SB, BT, UB, CoH.

Just the old meta Perks without DH and DS

Really? I mean. Sprint burst for sure hasn't gone anywhere but you actually see people running OTR and BT still?

    @GannTM said:

I wouldn't say Off The Record is trash but it might be overhyped a bit.

It only helps if you're being tunneled straight off hook and have time to get to loops to drag out that 80 seconds. If you get hit within the first few seconds of chase, the perk literally just does what BT does. If you aren't being chased off hook then you should be going back to help with an objective which then disabled the perk making it useless. Then it disables in endgame which is the only time that 80 seconds of running would mean anything

  • no way. i thought killers wouldn't camp or tunnel anymore because they would feel less pressured -_- (sarcasm)

The playerbase of this game is anti-fun

  • @BenZ0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080498#Comment_3080498

oppressive as hell? 3 perks all just to regress 1 gen. The Killer needs to walk up to that gen, kick and even patrol that generator to let it regress over time. Meanwhile there are 6 other generators that are just waiting to be touched. Also the Killer wastes alot of time the others can do whatever they want in the meantime. Its not like the Killer is doing something productive like chasing or hooking.

With the extra time it takes to get gens done, killers (including myself because I play killer as well) have had plenty of time to kick generators. You're also not taking into account that the kick itself does 2.5% base, then Overcharge and Call of Brine will take a 50% gen back to nothing in no time at all, and unless there's heavy communication among the survivor team, you have no idea when that eruption is coming and then you're stuck for 25 seconds doing nothing while the gen regresses

  • @BenZ0 said:

There are many other combos that can be even more painful and worse. However the Killer comits therefore the majority of his loadout which means the killer will most likely dont have other strong perks that could also give alot of value.

hard agree there. I've always been a saboteur user for the past at least 5-6 months so I love that buff but the rest of the minimally buffed survivor perks still aren't getting used and the old ones were nerfed to hell so the perks you pick don't even matter or have much significance in the trial anymore
