I don't think you understand this catch 22 situation
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2983493#Comment_2983493
I'm fine on gens, but healing?
5% of progress to pick up a dying person removes anti tunnel perk?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2983498#Comment_2983498
- Slug Dwight chase Meg, they have to pick up Dwight or let him die, if they come heal Dwight they are not doing gens
- tank the 5 second stun, and than get looped, pre dropped, infinitied, body blocked
- Killers can slug and wait out the DS, killers can slug and wait out the time
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2983699#Comment_2983699
You not picking up teammate is playing for killer, you picking up teammate disables perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2983798#Comment_2983798
Killer facecamps, waits for unhook, hits/chainsaws the tunneled person,
tunneled person uses DS, if the killer turns on them they try to waste as most time before they go down,
if the killer goes for a hook on the downed, you can heal and do gen.
Yeah.
Haven't had a lot of time to see it in action, understand it, or make various topics about it given its super low pick rate.

You can't "bait out" Dead Hard used to extend a loop. This has been debunked over and over and over and over and over and over again. It's the #1 lie persisting on this forum.
Maybe the person you're replying to doesn't know that the devs have said that DH has issues/is literally slated for change and is not arguing in bad faith.
Hope this is the case, at least.

which one is it than? pick up teammate with your killer behind you or don't pick up and get downed and have him ignore you for 90 seconds?
You'll learn how to make the correct plays in due time, don't fret.
What's the rest of your build?

Well you justified the 900 restrictions making you a walking useless meatshield in tight situations because you can get healed to injured if the killer picks you up, stun the killer and waste little bit of their time.
But in tight situations, killer is close and could go for you,
you can't tap that regressing gen, you can't pick up your teammate from the ground,
but why?
because you are playing a perk that 80% of the time isn't even going to be used.
cool cool
You'll understand the meta and how to get value out of DS as you play more.

If by wasting time you mean being absolutely obvious that you have ds and for sure getting slugged while they can get injure/another down before they come and hook you?

If you just don't go for them within one whole minute (wow such a long time) you have nothing to worry about....
That's great!
I don't really see what these posts have to do with the reasoning behind DS's restrictions, though - I thought that was the topic being discussed.
-
Pretty wild how they'd put so many restrictions on a perk that prevents you from taking a hook state while simultaneously giving you a health state and stunning the killer (usually after wasting some amount of time in chase).

You can always help them out by uploading your own DH Counter Tutorial or some shrekcellent gameplay to set those nubs straight.

Ideally, they'd give anyone that attempted to do the process the rewards, especially with the original BBQ questions.

This ideas are really nice. For me, Id like to get an addon which buffs Snares (not 15% Speed Penalty, but more) for example. Mostly its not enough for a loop.
Reduced cooldown to fall asleep is really important, your goal should always be having them asleep as often as u can.
I dont need Speed Penalty in Progression, but the Nightfall-Idea of Dredge is more Dreamworld than Freddy has atm. He needs love.
You need to place 2 snares in a lot of loops to catch up....at which time they'll just leave the loop or drop the pallet.
Against decent players, he's almost powerless.

I've never seen it, either.
It is, AFAIK, a temporary ban, anyway.
Fun fact (gleamed from off-topic forum post with dev response....someone can correct me if I'm wrong) - If you DO get banned for this, somehow, you're NOT going to get any concrete reason or the ability to review the 'evidence.'

Sounds like a lot of killers who highly utilize camping don't actually LIKE playing Dead by Daylight, they like ranking up. Because the main gameplay design of the game is to be chased and to chase--thats why theres so many perks around that. If it was designed for camping there would be perks that make camping better--"When standing within 5m of a hooked survivor all survivors within a 10m radius will have their auras revealed" yet we never see perks like that do we? Sounds like killers who boast the face-camping strategy just want to rank up and gather blood points, not play the game. Because if your TRUEST form of enjoyment is just standing in one spot watching someone die on hook, you'd really enjoy watching grass grow.
Imagine if those dastardly killers picked Insidious.

Ok so I have played DBD on PS4 since 2018 when the game was released for free. I’ve been dabbling in streaming and decided I wanted to try moving to PC. I went all out and spoiled myself… getting a nice gaming computer, mouse, etc. I installed all the programs, updated graphics cards, bla bla bla. Now comes the moment where I purchase DBD for PC, load in, do the tutorial because I’ve never done keyboard and mouse before…
THEN I LOAD INTO MY FIRST MATCH!!! I was terrified because I was a beginner all over again (with the controls). We all went down in 30 seconds against an Oni and then were instahooked. There was no pick up and carrying. Once we were all slugged, the killer walked up to each one of us and then we were instantly dying on the hook and immediately sacrificed. The match ended within a minute.
… what the heck PC DBD?
There are a LOT of BOTS and CHEATERS on PC.
The Devs are well aware....The issue persists.

I guess so, but that seems like we're stretching it a bit there.
It's very unrealistic at the very least, so you're going to have a lot more games where the Perk would end up being 100% useless than games where you do get usage from it.
Not disagreeing that the odds are low for getting LB value if there are no Flashlights in the lobby are low, but they're infinitely more than 0%.
-
@Mister_xD said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2972874#Comment_2972874
Not quite, there are some Perks that can be 100% useless to you throughout the trial, such as Franklyns Demise or Lightborn.
However, it is the first Perk that can be 100% useless to you based on a gamble that you have to take. Perks such as Lightborn are based on Items, which can be seen by the Killer prior to the game starting, so they can be used as a counter tool by the Killer when they know the Survivors have certain equipment (and be useless outside of those scenarios), but the Killer can not see their Perks, meaning they can not know if the Survivors have a Boon or not, which makes equipping the Perk not a counter to something they have, but a gamble on something they might have.
And this is problematic for the Killer, as, like you said, we have a 4 VS 16 Perks scenario, meaning the Killer does not have enough ressources to waste on weak things / to take a gamble like this.
Now some might point to Hex: No One Escapes Death as another example of the Killer taking a gamble - and that is true, but even if NOED never activates, the Killer still got some usage out of it with the Survivors wasting at least a bit of their time throughout the early- to midgame cleansing Dull Totems.
With FD or LB they can always get an item/light in a chest.

Are you planning to add anything useful to the conversation at some point or is this it?
To feed the troll: that would assume the killer is going to be greedy for the fourth kill. If he picks up the third survivor and hooks, as he should, there is no problem.
The game can still extend for minutes at that point depending on hatch spawn and survivor skill.
Pretty inconsiderate of everyone's time for a game that is already over...unless you're saying that the last survivor should always have a shot at the hatch?
The quickest way to end things and prevent the horrible loss of time is to run to the killer.
Admittedly, Knockout can be used in a dastardly manner to extend the game further, but it rarely comes up.
-
@Gylfie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2972651#Comment_2972651
My reasoning is based on who makes the first move in this scenario.
It is the killer who decides other people's time is less important than his own because he wants a 4th kill even though everyone in the game already knows he's won, with or without a hatch escape. It is the killer who imposes that same choice upon the hiding survivor, who now has to decide if the slug's time is less important than his own for a small chance at the hatch.
I think in an ideal world it is up to the killer to respect the other two people's time rather than up to the hiding survivor to give themselves up to someone who's being greedy. And this is a philosophy I stand by when I play killer myself.
Run towards the killer and end the match immediately when the 3rd person goes down.
This removes the heinous 'time value' choice from the equation!
-
Killers carry survivors, iirc.

If I play Survivor, yes, I dislike Survivors who want to go for a 4 man escape. Because most of the time it is a trade at best and often enough the Killer gets another Kill. Especially if people try to get their teammates out of the Basement against Killers like Bubba, Huntress or Trickster.
If I am hooked in Endgame, I just suicide, because otherwise the Killer will just get more Kills.
As Killer, I dont mind if they go for a 4 man Escape, as I said, most of the time it is in my favor.
But slugging for the 4K just wastes the time of 3 players, because one player thinks that they did not win enough with a 3K and Hatch Escape (especially if the Survivors did not even get close to finishing all Gens).
If the last survivor just ran towards the killer after the 3rd survivor was downed, those three players would save even more time!

Yes I understand, but it should've been announced with the PTB then, not a week later due to "community response" (backlash) and because we supposedly aren't smart enough to understand or something.
I know its not your decision, or any one persons decision for that matter, but hiding information on gameplay changes is going to leave a bad taste in peoples mouth.
Also makes it hard to know if it's working properly...ie had people known, swf going against her could keep track of box attempts, people could also test box numbers with various addons in kyf, etc.

Yeah, just need to vent.
These days, I play survivor in the morning before work, and killer in the evening after I get dinner ready and finish up the chores.
Last night, killer. Decide to marathon Ghostface, as I had a metric ton of streamers on him. Well, 7.
Game 1: 2 DCs, right as I'm picking my first down up. No idea why - long chase, 2 gens done.
Game 2: Down a Nea at a gen fairly early, she suicides on hook and another person DCs.
Game 3: Strongish 3man SWF, but a decent game on The Game. Maybe things are looking up?
Game 4: Duo went completely AFK after I caught the Claudette early at a gen. Postgame: 'do u rly need to win that badly?' from the Claudette. Sigh.
Game 5: Sneak up and grab a Nancy off a gen, she insta DCs.
Game 6: Ridiculously easy game after a long wait. Gave a Nancy and a Dwight gate at the end, felt a little guilty.
Game 7, my final streamers - started decent, but after they managed to perfectly 4gen themselves with 3 alive, the Ash and the Claudette decided to play hide and seek on Haddonfield, just hiding in lockers and stealthing around (I swear, it's always an Ash that sulks). Killed the Feng, but took me almost 20 minutes to finally find the Ash. Claudette got the hatch. Accused me of being 'sweaty' in postgame - no camping, no tunneling, no slugging at all.
Fine, maybe people are just tired of Ghostfaces. Switch over to Artist. Yup, got 2 streamers left on her.
Game 8: Within a few seconds of the game starting, I start hearing a repeated loud noise notification. Head on over and it's a Meg (with No Mither, if I recall, although it might have been Unbreakable), crouched in front of a locker. Oh joy.
Yup, she'd found another of those bloody 'if I down you here, I can't pick you up' spots.
Killed everyone else but the Feng, who was actually trying to help me get the exploiting Meg out from there. Eventually had to hard slug and camp her out, letting the Feng go. Urgh. Called it a night in disgust.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CHWA1N15PI61/20220525180338-1.jpg
This morning, day off! Survivor time! Wife's busy with work!
Got 8 streamers left on my Feng, let's put them to use.
Game 1: Really good, close game against a Blight. Promising start to the day.
Game 2: Hard slugging Hag with Knockout (thanks for giving this...wonderful gift to the world, Otz). Bled everyone out at 4 gens. Depipped, she got like 9000 BP total.
Game 3: Insidious Deathslinger (is this now a thing?), facecamped on first down with his instadown addon.
Game 4: Ghostface. Cable pulled about 3 minutes into the game after someone pallet stunned him.
Game 5: Got tunneled out of the game at 3 gens by a Pyramid Head. Meh. Getting a bit salty now.
Game 6: *Annoying* Deathslinger game, was on my butt for the entire game. They then caught a Bill and he suicided on hook before we could get to him, leading to us losing. By now I was getting rather salty. First time in recent memory that I told someone off in postgame, felt a bit bad about it.
Game 7: Load in, see a Bubba. *Groan.* Yup, another Insidious camper. Person suicided on hook, we made it to 1 gen before he caught me, hooked me, then immediately caught someone else and dropped them under me, then camped both of us. Ducky.
Game 8: Last streamers. Myers. Okay. Oh joy - he's using Tombstone, so we get 0 healing done and get a pretty easy 3 out, with sub 20k a piece. Postgame: 'genrushing cowards'.
So - that's been my DbD experience for the last few games.
I think it's time for another hiatus after the Hunt ends, because this game is really grating my cheese right now. Maybe the overhaul will help with some of this, but right now it doesn't feel like this game wants me to play it.
Yeah.
I turned chat off and stopped caring about the game.
Everyone's a bot to me, now.
If I finish a tome challenge early in a match or get bored, I'll throw YouTube on.
The results of matches no longer mean anything to me.
The fun of others no longer matters to me.
The accumulation of Rift Tiers is absolute.
The Tome is all now. Tome. TOME.

That doesnt help me if there are no Boons in the first place though.
It needs to have an effect that the Killer can get to work even if no Boons are in play, thats the poing I was making.
I thought this was an obvious flaw, as well.
It's why I mentioned the 3v16 bit.
Would this be the first perk ever added that could have 0% chance to activate from the Lobby screen onwards?
