  • I would like to see some screenshots or video. Like where do u even hide yourself so he can do it.

Literally had a game against Blight where the first survivor was 3-hooked (technically 4-hooked because of ds) withing the first 2 minutes of the game. Corrupt was still up. Also had several similar games against nurses and spirits during the last couple of days.

But yea, nerf survivors. Gen speed too fast. Circle of healing op...

All killer mains complaining about that while such things exist should play a Solo Q 3 vs 1 at 5 gens all day.

If u die before corrupt goes off, my congratulations! U are either afk or potato.

Killers cry cause difference between 2 K 10 hook and 2K 2 hook is day and night. First game was interesting for everyone and second boring bs.

I would rather quit than play for face camping or basement bubba etc. This games are boring.

"I'll do my level best to make sure you die first."

I think they do say what they are going to do.

Yeah, my bad. I missed it.

I'm pretty sure you admitted to breaking two separate rules.

    • If I remember you as someone who BMed me in the past, you'll get the strongest addons/perks I have available to me, and I'll do my level best to make sure you die first.

That's specific targeting in order to deny an enjoyable experience.

    • If you switch to items last second, I may suffer mysterious internet problems or find myself called away on urgent business. You know what you did.

That's DC'ing and we all know that's against the rules.

U are wrong here. He didn't explain how he is going to act against survivors he don't like, so without evidence it's your word vs his.

And unplugging internet isn't griefing. It's also not bannable because noone gets hurt. Game is just cancelled.

  • @Sluzzy said:

Survivor has got to be easier. I see people with hundreds of hours dying quickly. Buff maps so it's easier to escape killers. It's impossible for new players. The killer can also track too easily. If the job for killer has been made easy so it needs to be easier for survivor.

Emmm man.... when i was fresh new potato i escaped on my 2nd game perkless. How is it impossible?

  • Hours doesn't matter if u don't learn. Don't judge people based on hours.

  • U can pick challenges manually from survivor menu.

  • Why there is no 0K, 1K and 3K graph?

    Do u count DC's?

I would like to play with friends, but most give up after a week because they say the game is too hard.

I don't think the basics of the game are too hard, it is expecting a new player to come onboard and play long enough to get good while wading through all the toxicity and learning all the perks and add-ons.

My ideas would be to give them "training wheels."

Some ideas would be perhaps a cosmetic which shows they are new, like an armband or special skin which would disappear after 50 games of play. Along with the training wheels idea I would increase the skill checks good and great areas and have them slowly shrink as they progress. I would also decrease their struggle meter and increase the killer stun time on a shake free escape; again the struggle meter would increase as they progress. Perhaps one survivor or killer would be given to them with all the perks at level 3 for them to use for the first ten games.

I really would like to see new players try this game and stick around.

I honestly surprised. If DbD is too hard then literally every other game is for Gods. When I first came to Dbd biggest problem was perks, and once i grind them it become *easy*.

If anything new players need is starting perks.

  • It can't be one, there are so many that u can't just pick one and ignore everything else.

The very first would be Blood Web rework. Starting from fresh new players up to most experienced ones it's frustrating to everyone that Blood Web takes so much BP and gives garbage in return. I would take away every offering except BP bonus and move them into Offerings Temple (new feature). Butcher perk tiers so only tier 3 is left and starting from lvl1 u get tier 3 perks. Tier 1-2 and should be in museum. And rise item spawn % so it was bigger than addon % so items were more common and addons would be something rly rare.

The fact we can still see ranks of others is surprising, what it is for?

During the last MMR test they were all hidden and I was under impression it will stay like that. Especially when they are not part of matchmaking anymore, why show them?

Because there were many cry babies who insisted that they want to see grades. I think there are still a lot of people who judge based on grade even if it means nothing.

  • Nurse - 3 blinks - Bbq, Whispers, No Way Out, Noed - Sacrificial ward.

  • Only killer I wait so far is Jack the ripper. It would be awesome to see foggy killer no-one can see untill he slams u and others can't hear if something happens.

I'm still not sure it does. When devs or mods gave an example, they didn't mention game length.

I think the original poster means watching replays of matches after they’re done.

I never heard someone called theater is same as Replay but if u say so....

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2613749#Comment_2613749

It’s slightly more complicated. The order of when someone gets killed and how long the match takes apparently also impacts how much someone gains or loses in the hidden rating. That’s because once two survivors are dead it becomes much more likely for another survivor to die, for instance, so they don’t adjust downward or upward as much on the third kill as the second. Likewise a really quick 4k or 4 escape makes the ratings go up or down more than a longer match.

But otherwise, yeah, kills and escapes are presumably the most important factors. If survivor is killed their rating goes down and the killer’s goes up, if they escape vice versa. How much it goes up or down depends a bit on the details.

He didn't ask about numbers, he ask if kills matter. And kills/escape are only way to rise your mmr.

  • Spectator mode would be ok as long as u can't see other side. Otherwise it can be easily abused by friends.

  • @Dehitay said:

Where did they say that the mmr is based on kills and escapes? Logically, I would assume it's based on the emblem system.

That takes 16/24 seconds to make and only affects 24m. It can also be destroyed.

All the time on boons is time off gens remember?

And every time u are injured u can heal fast and for free. U don't distract your teammates from m1 gens, remember? It's much easier to prolong chases cause Iw + shadowstep confuses killer, remember?

Why u suddenly forget about infinite value your team gets from single perk. Kinda suspicious.

I don't think any other healing mechanic should stack with COH, other than teammates healing you.

It shouldn't work even on teammates. If u pick perk that gives u 100% heal speed after u are unhook (sry I don't remember it's name), its almost 2 sec heal for single person.

  • Because admitting mistakes requires guts while blaming others for personal mistakes 2 digit IQ. Guess what's easier?

Most people ignore their mistakes, doesn't matter side nor game.

You can blame game balance, other players, or mostly teammates. Killers blaming any SWF is not different, but you can't really ignore fact that dead squads will destroy most killers and that just have nothing to do with skill. You still can make mistakes and learn from them, but most players tend to just give up, which is main problem.

You have only little number of players that actually can reflect and notice their mistakes. It's hard to do without actually watching recorded games.

U don't need dead squads to beat killers. Like watch Otz recent item testing. He gathered his friends who are mostly killer mains and they got 86% escape rate without perks, map offerings etc. Watch other survivor main streamers. They jerk around killer and make them look like clowns.

And Otz and his friends are not best players in the world. Any experienced team full perks and items just stomp same level killer. That's why people hate Swf.

  • Don't touch it. It's currently not worth doing and I don't want it to be grind to X before u play. Or maybe give something like steam cars or cosmetics. Anything that has nothing to do with gameplay and grind.

I don't think that'd make the forums happy, data has consistently shown the opposite of what they claim.

U don't need to make forum guys happy. There's not a single game 100% community is happy about. While it could help a lot instead of just typer vs typer war without any single clue how good or bad each is.

I would be happy if there were statistics about how bad I'm am and what i need to focus on and leaderboards so i can check how good players do. And same would work with a lot of other players instead of *I think this is broken because i feel it is* that literally has nothing do to how good or bad player it is.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2613410#Comment_2613410

How would revealing a swiffer show they 'abused' voice coms?

    Not all swiffers use voice.

Agree. That's why I hope someday we get our account statistics like W/L kills/escape average match time etc. And I don't think we would fight around if player A uses voice coms or not when his average escape rate will be around 4 min.

As i multiple times mentioned in different topics data should be revealed. And more data u have, easier it is to find what's wrong.

Like take LoL for example. I can track literally anything and there's no doubts about anything cause i can check it any moment i want.

Oh, no. I am playing mostly killers, but when I play SWF, we are dead squad, so that argument doesn't work for me. I don't really care about that. I really don't think camping, tunneling etc. is an issue, because most survivors just doesn't get it, they should really try to play killers more...

This is just when I think about it as a concept.

-You dare to play with friends and getting new players to the game? Longer queue time for you!

    Yeah, that's just not good.

I don't care who u play and this BS about killer/survivor side excuse also needs to go.

Swf needs to be fixed. And revealing them is one good step to show if actually they abused voice coms or killer suck.

  • @Dino7281 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2613388#Comment_2613388

    How will that fix anything?

SWF will be exactly same. They will still be able to lower their MMR by playing with noobs. They will still completely skip match-making, because they can choose teammates. They still get free info without perks. They will still destroy most weak killers.

You will just punish them with longer queue times, because they want to play with friends?

That should never be a thing and it would be really stupid to punish SWF in any form for playing with friends. Not every SWF is dead squad.

Those who don't care and/or enjoy challenges still will play against swf. Those who don't - dodge. It will fix all this complains about *I don't want to play against swf, nerf swf and so on*. Fix afk, camp and rage quit.

What a great excuse u have. Game isn't made around voice coms. And if u abuse voice coms it's a lame excuse. Don't use your friends as shield for playing dirty.

  • Swf is an excuse for being bad. Instead of getting better, survivors runs on coms and abuse it for information they shouldn't have.

If swf is necessary then camping and boring games is proper response to it.

  • @Dino7281 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2613380#Comment_2613380

It's usually not hard to guess who is SWF already.

I never watch lobby so I don't really care.

You don't need to buff soloQ much, but I think there is need to that. You just can't do any changes to survivors, because it would destroy soloQ even more. You need to get gap between soloQ and SWF smaller, if you wanna do any changes.

-Passive Kindred (without killer part) would help a lot, so you don't have 0 or multiple survivors running for a hook and wasting time.

-Show whenever is someone in chase -> just make everyone obsession style and actual obsession will be highlighted in red instead white.

-chat wheel would be nice too imo

Those changes doesn't really buff survivors that much and it will not affect SWF, because those things are easy to share for them. Killers don't need buff overall. Only change I would do is buff base regression to 150% and nerf ruin to same amount.

Otherwise just buff bad perks and weak killers to make it more interesting in high MMR.

Current balance is made exactly so survivors didn't know situation. If u give survivors free perks it will require killer buffs. It's a circle.

Just reveal swf in every lobby.

  • @Dino7281 said:

Not really. Problem is that you have SWF stacked in just above avarage MMR, because it's just easier.

    How I would fix it:

Buff soloQ, so they have chance to get there. Just give them info that is easily shared by SWF

Make SWF MMR not based on avarage, but based on highest MMR in a group.

No need in Solo buff. Make it visible who is Swf. If u give free auras to solos, it will require to give even more to killer. It's an endless circle of butchering perks here and there.

And if swf que suddenly will become 3-5min or more then they should take it as downside being swf.

  • Where do u find those face campers? I've played like 12 games so far, not a single killer face camped. Share some of them, it's a free win every time.

I think the point your missing is a lot of people like to play less viable killers and not meta killers all day. This solution solves nothing for the 20 other killers.

I don't miss anything. U say it has no counter and it's your main point.

  • Plague exists. Nurse still doesn't care about boons. Insta down killer stfu on boons. What else u need?

  • Grades have nothing to do with MMR. U can be ASH IV best player in the world here. Grades only show how much time u played during last month.

  • People who talk bad about Wraith compare him with Nurse and strongest possible survivors. And compared to Nurse, Wraith can be easily countered and outplayed. Also don't forget about steamers followers who never question their favorite streamer.

Wraith overall is OK if u master him but his downsides compared to Nurse are much stronger and he struggles against well coordinated team.

  • He is well balanced but there are only few good Bubbas outside. Most Bubbas i saw are [Bad word] face campers who refuse to learn to play.

  • Not only replays. Give Solo custom mode so players can practice against bots. I [Bad word] every time this genius who made custom mode for 2+ people only.

While that's a noble goal, you straight up don't ever need to invoke rank for those kinds of things. Nobody likes hearing "you're just trash", regardless of how well-intentioned or nicely-phrased it is, so mentioning that is only going to worsen your chances of convincing that person.

Like I said, with this system people are all but forced to take every argument on its merits instead of resorting to listening to higher-ranked players. That, or they just assume, which admittedly happens more often. Rank shouldn't really enter balance discussions like this, the ranks of the people having the discussion is only rarely very relevant and when it is there's no reason to start the "well you're a lower rank player so you wouldn't understand" spiel because it simply doesn't hold any logical weight beyond a moderate amount of correlation.

U don't need to convince anyone. U show them stats that prove they're wrong. If they don't care, it's upon them. And without any rank u can hear trash in aftergame chat or here just in different words so it's not an excuse. Like look at all both side complains about *bad teammates, bad killer, sweat squads and so on*. People call each other [Bad words] just in tolerant manner.

  • Survivors need a perk that calls SWAT squad and they capture killer.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2611988#Comment_2611988

You misunderstand- you can't outplay the other guy without understanding how you did it, but you need much more than that to accurately and adequately talk about game balance.

Being a top tier player only requires that you understand the game as it is. Understanding how to fix the game, or what's causing any of the specific problems with the game, requires a much, much broader scope than that. Top tier killer mains could (and currently do!) hyper-focus on what's causing them issues in their games, while completely disregarding how those things play for the survivor side, or how they play for lower ranked players.

Game balance is not the same topic as game strategy. Someone with a very broad and nuanced understanding of how to balance a game doesn't need to be able to play it particularly well to achieve that understanding, there's a difference between mechanical skill and theoretical knowledge.

It doesn't explain why data should be hidden. It only explains that player A can be wrong. And as i see it, hidden data only promotes wrong feedback.

Let's make it simple: Legion is broken OP? (I know few survivors who want to nerf him). It's just a simple example that shows how feedback can be wrong because it came from player B who saw easy it is to hit 4 survivors and that Legion has 50%+ kill rate. And there are multiple similar situations that come from different people. Also there is no personal information to even track as how good I am myself unless I write it down on paper.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

A lot of people in these forums would be in for a nasty surprise i think if mmr was revealed

Everyone including me - suck. While we can discuss multiple things we don't play even close perfectly. Problem is people refuse to admit it and pretend they are better than others. That's why MMR, stats and other information needs to be revealed. it encourages people to get better instead of fighting about X numbers none knows.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2611962#Comment_2611962

As I said, the ability to play a game and a thorough understanding of the game's balance, design, and needed fixes are fundamentally different knowledge bases. You can absolutely have both, or you can have just one.

The only thing Player A should be trusted on in your example is what a winning strategy with the game as it currently stands looks like. Player B may have a much better understanding of how the game functions, what the game's mechanics are designed for, and what the root causes of the game's problems actually are, despite getting flustered or not having particularly good reaction times when they're actually in a match.

The two concepts aren't linked. You can be a top tier player while having absolutely zero understanding of how game balance works, and vice versa.

How are u going to outplay other guy without understanding how u did it? U can't just be player A with zero understanding about how game works, while u say player B can be random guy with 0h 13m game time and already pretend he understands what needs to be nerfed and buffed.

    This just makes no sense.

  • @jesterkind said:

No, it absolutely shouldn't be- I've been in game communities where you know where you're placed, and it invariably makes the conversation surrounding game health much worse. You touched on why yourself- "you would never listen to a bronze or silver ranked player", as though skill in game automatically translates to understanding of the game, and vice versa. You don't need more reasons to discard people's opinions before you've even read them, my friend.

Also, this game doesn't use MMR the way that other games do. It's just a matchmaking tool, not a progression system like those games, so it makes even less sense to see what your rank is.

For the last question: Like every game in existence, you balance for all the ranks, not just one section.

How does it make worse? If player A is master and player B is noob, player B shouldn't be expected to discuss balance. It will avoid a lot of unnecessary complains about how something is broken just because player B refuses to get bettter.

  • @fogdonkey said:

DS Unbreakable could be nerfed so that recovering will disable your DS.

Sure, killers could get some similar buffs as well, but I want to discuss only survivors in this thread.

Let's make it clear. Currently survivors have literally everything to do good in any single trial against any killer we have. There are perks that can adjust your playstyle and items that boost your heal/repair speed to the sky. There's no buffs needed. And better u get, easier it is to win vs any type of killer. That's why on highest level killers don't get 4k. (Even Nurse players).

If u give 3 free perks to survivors as baseline it would completely destroy game balance and make it that survivors hunt killer.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 22
