It actively gives both sides anxiety, the killer-victim narrative is just more prevalent.
Other than that, I would agree, the problem is game pacing is too fast due to no comeback mechanics for either side, but slowing the game down isn't profitable which is why most multiplayer games are 'Tiktokifying' their gameplay loops.
Shorts bursts of dopamine = more impulsive purchases = better ROI and more accessible to more players. There is no "killer-victim narrative" what are you talking about?
In case you didn't notice, the killer is the "1" in the 1v4 of this game. It's natural that one person going up against a team of people (especially when said team has been the power role of the game for most of its life-span) might be a little anxious, since your mistakes fundamentally matter more.
-
Poor Sadako. She's one of the hardest killers to play consistently and for all that effort she's only like C-tier.

I see you getting blasted but thank you for sticking to your guns. I really didn't think they were an issue with the fast mending I actually enjoyed being the first one in the frenzy chain. they were more fun to face than Wraith or Oni imo
their removal is why I started advocating for adding Ghoul
Multi-million dollar company can't figure out a way to balance a character so they just delete them instead.
-
They're not even excusing the blatant lack of content anymore.
-
You should know by now that the devs saying they'll "revisit this later" means they're never going to touch it again.
-
I agree that Jason definitely has certain aspects about him that are overtuned, but man this thread feels like one big survivor circle-jerk.
Survivors have had plenty of buffs recently, and them being stronger than killers was already the status quo since DbD came out, barring the CoB, Overcharge, Eruption meta from years ago. Stop acting like Jason or Krause or Ghoul (both of which have been nerfed) just invalidates all that.
-
People are far too quick to write off every single perk that doesn't automatically win them the game as being "useless". God forbid you need to actually use your brain instead of just slapping on a bunch of busted perks to win the match for you.
-
Literally never. I refuse to platform such a destructive and thoughtless "tool" even over something so simple.
-
Honestly I'm surprised they didn't fix this when the skin first released, I remember how much everyone made fun of it.
-
It's going to be exactly like the Fnaf, Mario, and Minecraft movies. Just fanservice trying to be funny and quirky to cover up the complete lack of any cohesive plot, character writing, or passion. Genuinely my least favorite kind of movie.
-
If this is their "vision" for future events I won't be around for it. This event was a disgrace.
-
Am I the only one who really disliked Tryks? Like she was so annoying 😭
I'm fine with them switching up the theming of the events, but this one was executed horribly.

Not a day goes by where I don't miss the original Borgo lighting. It looked like an actual smoldering ruin and not some generic nighttime map that we already have tons of.

Lmao, you still find a way to complain about killers even in an event that gives survivors superpowers.

Lmao, after I posted I thought of that gif as well 😂
-
"I feel like BHVR is not thinking about employed people at all."
Seeing how ######### this event is leads me to believe that they're not thinking about anything right now.
-
I'm against this culture of just giving up and leaving whenever you feel like it, but if the devs are insistent on keeping things this way then I don't see why not.
-
I'd be fine with a skinwalker, but if they add one I want it to actually be accurate to native legend and not some generic, spooky, tall man the internet has turned them into.
I'm also not Native American however, and I don't know if they would take kindly to a creature that is so feared and evil it's name is not even to be spoken being turned into a playable character in a video game.
-
This event has made me loose a lot of faith in Behavior, even more then I've already lost in the last few years.

This sentiment always confuses me because the game balance doesn't support it, but also because the penalties are already incredibly bizarre and harsh as it is. What makes you want them to be even worse?
Because DbD has a "go next" epidemic, or whatever name you want to give it. It feels like every time even a minor inconvenience occurs someone leaves or gives up. Obviously if you're playing a multiplayer game that you readied-up for this type of behavior should be punished.
That being said, I also think Behavior needs to improve their D/C detection system, because getting penalized for their servers crashing or a hacker holding you hostage and forcing you to leave is ridiculous.
-
At this point I'm convinced the real strength of swf isn't the increased communication but rather knowing that your teammates won't quit and will be at least somewhat competent.
-
The penalties should be harsher.
-
It's like a ten second animation, lmao
-
Yeahhhhhhh, they're never going to do this. The devs never upload gameplay of themselves let alone for some sort of challenge. It certainly would be fun, though.
-
Oh dear, I hope he recovers as quickly and painlessly as possible!

Got told to hang myself because I'm trans 🤷

Knew who was gonna be at the top before I even clicked.
-
I'd say that if they're enjoying the game and want to keep playing then they should probably start watching DbD content creators. The actual in-game tutorials suck and you practically need to engage with outside material to even learn the basics.
-
Surprised no one has said Afton yet.
His model, while still pretty good, isn't totally accurate to his original suit. Additionally his mori seems far more fitting for his movie counterpart than standard Afton. His voice lines, while spoken amazingly by PJ Heywood, come across as very goofy and silly to me. I know a lot of people would say that's fitting with modern Fnaf, and it probably is, but I was still hoping for a more mature take on the character.
The elephant in the room and my main issue with him is of course his power though. The random throwable axe has already been bashed a ton, but his security doors also feel very uninspired and the cameras might as well not even be there.
Maybe it's just a personal thing, but I was definitely disappointed with him.
I would also say Myers, but it feels a little unfair to nominate him when he was so beloved for the majority of the game's history. His rework was total garbage though.

You're looking to wait around a year since Diminishing Returns was released, because BHVR works slow. I do not know how this is a surprise to people after 10 years of BHVR being very slow to change things.
The fact they didn't update any perks when diminishing returns was implemented says a lot to me.
-
You hit the nail right on the head, though unfortunately if they haven't nerfed it by now I kind of doubt they ever will. I don't understand how so many people think this level of strength for a singular perk to have is at all healthy or okay. Perks should not be the determining factor behind a win, it should be skill and effort.
-
I'm too tired right now to come up with my own new perks, but if I had to pick preexisting perks that I think might suit me it'd probably be: No One Left Behind, Dead Hard, and Counterforce.
-
Man, I know it wasn't very well balanced, but I miss old DbD. It felt like it had so much more identity that is just missing now.
-
Definitely Skull Merchant mains. Behavior intentionally nerfed her into obscurity and has seemingly forgot that they planned to rework her afterwards.
Honorable mention to Sadako mains too. She's gone through so many changes and is so difficult to play compared to how strong she is.
-
I feel like most takes in here are pretty cold, lmao.
Here's one that I'm sure will get a little bit of backlash: Players across the board (though especially survivors) rely way too much on their completely over-tuned perks to play the game for them instead of putting in actual effort.
-
I'm no expert at Twins, but the biggest piece of advice I've heard is to really take advantage of the fact they can sort of be in two places at once.
Whether that's keeping Victor in hidden spots at one end of the map and patrolling the other side as Charlotte - taking advantage when you see survivors running towards his end to get free injuries and downs, or keeping either twin nearby while you're chasing a survivor and eventually sandwiching them between the two of you.
Also going into a custom game and practicing with Victor's pounce to see what can and can't hit over probably isn't a bad idea either.
-
Usually none.
Winning as a meta slave is just not satisfying for me, even if I'm playing a weak killer or in solo-que.

@QwQw I appreciate your perspective .
And honestly, I think your second point is part of the larger discussion too. If so many players feel the need to rely on external filters or reshades to improve clarity, contrast, lighting, or overall visuals, maybe that is something BHVR itself should address directly in-game rather than through third-party tools.
The competitive advantage side is obviously where most of the debate comes from, especially in a game built around visibility, tracking, stealth, reaction time, and environmental awareness.
Honestly there's a lot of things like this Behavior needs to address. The settings page looks like something out of 2016. Oh, wait…
Like, how many years did it take them to add basic colorblind settings, an FOV slider, and aura options again? Too many is the answer.

It's been for a long time.
Thing is it's gradually getting more surv sided with each patch.
Also mark my words that this remove perma progress crap and Elusive will become a gigantic issue in the near future.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4081948#Comment_4081948
You can also use the footage of them playing the first 2v8 as proof that they don't play killer at all.
That was so painful to watch. SO MANY basic mistakes being made in sucession.- Pallet density update
- 70 second hook timers
- 15 second off-hook endurance/haste
- Baffling amount of overtuned perks new and old alike
"Thing is it's gradually getting more surv sided with each patch."
Yeah, it's not hard to see why 😅
-
Yeah, it always bothers me when I see people using external filters and reshades because:
- They give a competitive advantage whether the user wants to admit it or not
- C'mon, they just look plain ugly
-
Aside from Forgotten Ruins and Haddonfield (before it got removed anyway, R.I.P), no maps needed more pallets. Playing one of the many killers who don't have easy options for dealing with them feels absolutely miserable.
The worst part though is all the people trying to gaslight you into thinking that there's barely any new pallets and all the ones that were added are just ######### fillers.
I know I may sound harsh, but the game is in a more survivor sided state then it has been in a long time and things like this need to be dealt with.
-
Annnnnnnnd this is why I warned everyone that diminishing returns was a terrible idea. All it did was nerf a roster of already meh/niche perks and the promised buffs to them aren't going to come until the heat death of the universe.
-
I have long been quite tired of both, personally.
-
Doubtful, but if something like that happens it'll be legendary. I certainly respect the hopium
-
Honestly, I don't think it's going to be Jason or Pennywise or whoever else people are saying. I feel like it's going to be something original, though I'd be open to basically anything so long as it's not Darth Vader.
-
Nurse is by far the worst designed killer in current DbD.

Friendly reminder that Nemesis canonically tunnels😎
And he kind of sucks at it at that 🤣
In the remake he couldn't even kill a single member! Though to be fair, Jill should've been dead like ten times over by the end of the game if we're being realistic. In fact, that basically applies to every RE protagonist except Ethan.
