Yea this sadly is how p100 survivor goes. I had to drop my dweet because games would be miserable just because I was p100. Basically you get punished for liking a certain character and for some reason the devs still haven't removed the prestige in lobby even though we had some of these exact issue back in the day when rank was shown. The solution to this is sadly not playing that character, which is super dumb.

I couldnt imagine dropping ur main because of all that. I proudly play my p100 david. And if i get tunneled, i just get tunneled. But i sure wont make it easy for them and hope my team gets out safely.

  • If someone dcs at the slightest of inconvenience for free. I may just follow. I didnt come to play this game to play with bots for majority of my time. Bots should be for when a player takes it too far and just dc or if it was on accident. I wanna play with real people. Not bots most of the time.

  • Yes. Its a bug. Even said so by a former dev who developed blight. But he left before he could do anything about it. And the new devs dont really care much anyways

  • Gabriel can honestly be anything since technically he is a clone. There could potentially be multiple of him

I'm not sure how these community cosmetics are chosen. Does BHVR choose or what? I feel like they should have the community vote on what cosmetics should win. Have a survey like the player satisfaction ones and have all the entries there for ppl to vote.

But then the same survivor favorites would win where most likely female survivors would win. But not like it matters anyways. Bhvr always choose female survivors to win anyways

Not true, last year in august Yun-Jin got her Judge of the Stars outfit as part of the Pop Superstar collection while Jeff didn't get anything, so no they did in fact invest in her last year.

They are starting to investing in other less popular Survivors this year like i've repeatedly stated, it's why you're starting to see them pop up more now, Zarina in her own collection along with Deathslinger, Jeff in the Waterfront Massacre and Jonah now with the Visions of the Future collection, they might have been neglected in the past where they didn't even get anything, but the fact that bhvr has given 3 less popular Survivors in a row cosmetics after their cosmetic team expanded means they aren't really being neglected anymore as it seems like a reacurring pattern now with cosmetic collections going forward.

Even the rifts are featuring less popular Survivors more often now.

Jeff literally got a prime exclusive and kept getting recolors last year. Both of them were getting crumps during that time. But i dont want to sway too far from my main point here. Which is even tho they have "expanded" their cosmetic team. There are still survivors in the roster that are not getting cosmetics for a long period of time which imo going 6 months without a new cosmetic i deem is too long and is neglectful. And instead they continue to keep giving the same top survivors cosmetics when it should be the ones who havent gotten anything for far too long within a 6 month period. Heck, it could even be a recolor for all i care. And yea, some less popular survivors are getting something now, good. But there are still survivors, 2 specifically from the top of my head i mentioned to you, that are being neglected.

And i like how you said even the rifts are featuring less popular survivors when although true for haddie next rift. All recolors feature meg, kate, nea and yunjin.

Of course popular characters will always get more than less popular characters, why spend as much money and resources on a whole bunch of cosmetics for characters you already know isn't going to sell nearly as much as opposed to characters you know will because there already exist a demand for you to supply? It simply just makes economical sense.

You will never see bhvr just straight up disregarding their most popular Survivors in favor of the unpopular ones all of the sudden, they're always going to give the popular ones something for the majority of cosmetic releases no matter because they guarantee the most sales, been like that forever and it ain't changing anytime soon no matter how much you complain about it, but what has changed is like i said, that they're now giving less popular survivors more cosmetics more often than before.

Also Yun-Jin already had more popularity than most of the other less popular Survivors by the time of her and Trickster's release.

And yet yun jin was getting just has much cosmetics as jeff last year. She wasnt getting anything. They are just now investing in her. Which they should do for other survivors. I understand its a business, but to neglect and forget your other creations that you worked hard on and have a fanbase is honestly disappointing.

Yun Jin is good example, yes. But then we have Jeff. He got a lot costumes in row but yet, he is still not playing so much. Same goes for Adam as well.

But it's good BHVR is not ignoring unpopular survivors anymore. They are getting costumes quiet well.

Ive seen jeffs and adams played a lot more than several months ago guaranteed. It still may not be much but its definitely due to the fact that he's a male character anyways. Because i still dont see many felix players overall and he's gotten alot. But he has gained more playerbase tho. That i cant deny.

  • @Smoe said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479438#Comment_3479438

Because they're the most played Survivors, therefore they make more sales than less played characters and will therefore more often get cosmetics.

Point in case still remains however, less played Survivors are getting cosmetics more often now than they did in the past, the past 3 cosmetic drops proves it.

And my point still remains as well. They are still leaving out certain characters for a longer period of time without cosmetics. If they keep getting cosmetics like the top 5, then they will be played more often. Yunjin is a prime example of this as her playerbase has risen when she lacked the popularity.

  • @Smoe said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479416#Comment_3479416

    • its the same top 5 survivors still getting something every update.

Funny, because Jonah, Jeff and Zarina got a cosmetic each within the last 3 most recent cosmetic drops

And it took several momths for them to get it. And still, kate, meg, nea, feng, kate gets something every update. The survivors who are being neglected currently are david and jake both havent recieved new skins over 6 months.

Didn’t they Increase the cosmetic team like by a-lot. We should get multiple winners IMO. I can’t imagine that Yun-Jin one will take long to make.

Yes they did. But that means nothing. They only said that to make it seem like they care to give other survivors something when in reality its the same top 5 survivors still getting something every update.

  • Congrats to winners. But im so sorry. We might as well call this the "Design a Female Survivor Cosmetic Design" because male survivors never win and most likely never will. They gotta start picking 2 survivors male and female at this point because its so ridiculous given the fact this will be on the free track of the rift so they arent profiting from this.

  • In my eyes and through the history of dbd, its usually survivor sided maps that get reworked to be more balanced. And i mean way back in the day when loops were nearly infinite as well.

Now they are going with making larger maps a bit smaller for some reason. Which sucks because it will tip it over a bit to the killer side. But they are trying to add more resources in those smaller maps. Even giving pallets where dead zones used to be.

  • You havent been paying attention or played enough to notice the players choices in survivors recently over a certain period of time of skin releases. Its ok. Not everyone pays close attention to that. You'll get better at it tho

No one is going to take you with any seriousness when you keep talking like this. You have a very irrational attitude about this which is why your go to arguments are always to wrongfully claim the devs don't care and insist you are right about everything because you fail to see the truth when it is presented to you. Your stance from the beginning has been "I'm right, you're wrong." Why should anyone listen to you and take into consideration what you have to say about anything when you have an attitude like this?

I dont have an irrational attitude towards the devs nor the team. But to you. Probably. And i will continue to inform the team how certain characters, not just david, are being neglected. And as long as im not being threatful or abusive in any matter that breaks the rules of this forum, i will still be here. And you cant do anything about it. So what now.....you wanna move on or what? Cause i do. Because we wont add anything else in this discussion. Thanks

I honestly feel like you are just blatantly ignoring everything I and others are telling you because you refuse to see this through any other perspective than your own. The cosmetics have nothing to do with how often the license characters are played. It has everything to do with how popular they are and you literally proved my point in that. That is why I mentioned the licensed characters. You are fixated on this idea that throwing cosmetics at any character regardless of the character will suddenly make people start playing them. David already has a lot of cosmetics, so your argument of more won't change people's minds if they've already decided they don't want to play him. Tapp, Quinton and Yoichi are less played among the license characters because the others are way more popular than them. The RE characters are arguably the most popular licensed characters in the game and they aren't played more because they have more cosmetics than other licensed characters.

Feng isn't carried by her cosmetics. She gets cosmetics because she is popular. Feng didn't always have all the skins she has now. People liked her from the beginning and the devs capitalized on her popularity. That is what this is all about but you keep ignoring that.

We wont see eye to eye on this because your perspective and others are wrong. And i see how the community playerbase shifts with every cosmetic release and when others are neglected for long period of time. We are beginning to see a shift within yunjin and even haddies playerbase right now and both werent that popular to begin with. Even kate, 2 years ago wasnt played much because she was rarely getting skins for a long period of time. I remember and know this to this day.

So too bad for you. Im going to continue to be fixated on it because i know im right. That sounds like a you problem if you cant grasp that.

More skins don't always equal more players. The character has to be appealing and interesting first otherwise no amount of skins will really matter that much. Also a character can be popular without skins. Some license characters are an example of this. To answer your question about competition, they need only introduce a more appealing character for that to happen.

Why are you putting license survivors into this? They are entirely different as their popularity is determined by their own series on their debut. And please dont tell me anything about a character having to be interesting first and foremost when feng is literally carried by cosmetics alone when her lore and personality within her 2 paragraphs of base lore is drier than the Saharan desert. The number of cosmetics definitely helps their playability. And ive asked this question to so many people about how they decide their mains based on what cosmetics and what survivors they avoid due to not having any cosmetics.

And if you wanna put licenses into this guess which licensed survivors are played more. Among them are cheryl, ST survivors, and RE survivor because they continue to get things. While the less popular ones like tapp, quinton and even yoichi are also examples of less played due to less skins. Even Ash is being played more currently because of 2 rift skins. So dont tell me how # of skins doesnt really help with their playability. Cause you are wrong.

Youre asking a question to which youve already formed an answer yourself and are seeking verification from others

David's popularity has gone down for 1 main reason, being BHVR created competition for him.

How can there be competition when he's not getting any new skins over a long period of time? Why play a character thats not getting anything when u could play someone else that gets something every update and thats new. If he got more new skins then he would be played more

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3472499#Comment_3472499

This is not always true. Ofcourse, Yun Jin had potential to rise. And when she got some new and decent costumes, we started see her more. But this did not work with Adam, Haddie, Jeff and Elodie. These survivors got new costumes but yet, still they are not popular.

But ofcourse they should give some costumes to David. He did not get any new costume for almost a year.

Ok i see your point. But i just wanted to say its not good to say that a company stops giving a survivor skins because of their sexual orientation reveal. Its like giving the impression that behavior, a company that supports the lgbt community, are giving bigots a win by neglecting a character because they stop playing him. Yea he lost some players from that, but he gained some as well and made an impact in real issues than any survivor on the roster.

And i must say i still hold my ground on skins being tied to playability athough i do agree with your point. Because i actually have seen more jeffs, adams, and haddie due to new skins. But i have not seen more elodies. Most likely because her recent skin wasnt great and it was just one outfit over many months

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

David has issue with costumes like other unpopular survivors.

Adam did not got any costume for long time and he got some lately. Same goes for Jeff, Jane, Jonah, Haddie, Jake etc. You see these survivors are getting costumes rarely.

Because making costumes is not free. And when you use money for it, you will expect to get some profit.

You have survivors which guaranteed moneymakers: Kate, Mikaela, Meg, Claud, Nea, Yun Jin, Vittorio, Dwight, Felix etc. Would you focus on your moneymaker characters or characters which has pretty small playerbase? Answer is clear.

David deserves some costumes but i don't think they are not making costumes because he is gay. They stopped make them because David is not popular anymore. A lot people stopped play him after he revealed as gay. You can't force people to play him, so if he won't get more players most likely his costumes will be rare like other unpopular survivors.

Thats a reach. Because him being revealed gay gave him more players as well within the lgbt community. I believe its simply due the fact that he isnt getting many skins as of now which is why you dont see him often and others are getting new skins. I rarely saw yunjins last year but now im seeing her more after getting more skins. It really correlates to who is getting skins at the moment.

You can give your opinion without being insulting, which you were when you said they don't care. Why would they even bother doing all of the things they have done for the lgbt community if they didn't care? They didn't have to do any of this. They could've just continued the game as it was before they started lgbt representation in the game and none of this would have ever been an issue. After all they have done I just find it hard to believe that anyone could think they don't have at least some genuine care for these things.

Wow, if you believe its scornful abuse to say their best aint good enough in the cosmetic department then thats on you. And you're misunderstanding my words because this isnt just about what they do for the lgbt community. This is an issue that goes to other characters like elodie, jake, and used to be haddie. About them neglecting characters over a long period of time without new skins. But then again, as your name suggest it, im not surprised that you dont see that since your main continues to get things but you dont care for other playerbases being neglected without anything as well.

You definitely havent see much then i guess

  • Im hearing david may not even get new skins during midchapter. Im just gonna call it like it is. They say they care. But there actions says otherwise.

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

Not against them doing any of this, as its their game. I don't see why its such a hot topic with some people. You play a game thats based around murder and horror. Yet we're focused about whether people like guys or girls. I honestly don't understand why this is a topic.

And thats fine! Maybe its not for me to understand. I just want to escape politics, race, sexual orientation, and personal expectations in my video games, and even that's getting increasingly difficult. Ah well, DbD fo lyfe!

Because every horror film or game for that matter has characters that we get to know at least. We feel for these characters and depending on their fate we grow attach to them. If it was just a horror film and we knew nothing about the characters, and i mean anything, then it would be just a boring film and just like any other film where they just die and we move on

  • @Maelstrom808 said:

Personally I think you leave it ambiguous for existing characters, but introduce some new characters that are written from the ground up as LGBT+ or even non LGBT+ but their sexuality is a defining part of their character.

That to me feels the most honest and true to life way to do it. Some people are outwardly defined by their sexuality, many are not. In addition, shoehorning a character after the fact that was not previously written in a certain way feels lazy and disingenuous. If you want to give representation, do it from the start and create a great character that can people can identify with from the get go.

We dont always have to start fresh and let their whole character be defined by their sexuality at the start. Certainly david did it best as we loved him based on his personality and willingness to sacrifice himself for others. Him being revealed to be gay only added more to an established character and made him even more loved and impactful in the community. People who didnt like that were most likely close minded anyways

  • @HugTechLover said:

I think cosmetics are made based on character popularity, and good cosmetics bring even more popularity. Fend and Nea have some high quality “sweaty” cosmetics, and you see a ton of both of those characters.

Well yea i do agree with that. But it does suck when bhvr claim to have increased their production of cosmetics by hiring more art designers in order to give even the less played characters something, only to still give most new skins to the same popular characters everytime.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469659#Comment_3469659

I see all three of those characters more than I see David to be honest.

I’m not saying David shouldn’t get cosmetics, all characters should get cool cosmetics. I just really don’t see David hardly at all. I saw an increase of him during the last month, but that has since decreased.

Regardless. The reason you're not seeing davids as much as jeffs, and even adams right now is because they recently have been getting new cosmetics. And that makes me believe that if they dont consistently give skins to characters just like feng, meg, etc then they wont be player as often. Simple as that.

Im a p100 david main and i havent been playing him often because he hasnt gotten many skins lately

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

So how you would feel if BHVR reveal all of og characters? Or keeping them for our imaginations is better idea? What do you think?

Dont know. As we have had previous discussions before. If they reveal a gay character they will most likely be forgotten right after with no new skins. So i honestly. I dont know if they should

What they are doing to david honestly disappoints me. And if they are gonna do this to newly revealed lgbt characters then i believe they shouldnt reveal anymore tbh. They claim they care but i dont think they do.

Besides, david isnt being played as much because he isnt getting new skins while other men survivors are getting new shirtless skins. So of course his pickrate will go down

    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I remember that too. But now im starting to believe that was just a lie to "sell" him. But when it backfired they just stop giving him anything. Which im not really surprised tbh

David should get costumes but you need to understand this: BHVR is company. Ofcourse they will focus on characters who makes more money for them.

You people really expect them to stop make costumes for Kate, Feng, Mikaela, Yun Jin, Meg etc while they sell like crazy? Who brings more money gets more effort. That's natural part of business.

Im honestly past it now. For a company that has LGBT employees and preach about how david has made an impact to the community, ppl that have came out because of him, to only neglect him with no cosmetics during pride and nothing in the forseeable future. Im actually over it so I understand business is business and money is a more priority over representation. Havent really played david much because of it which is sad. But oh well.

  • Just.....stand still if ur gonna get hit regardless. They dont gain bloodlust at all if ur standing, walking, or crouching. So they cant expose you.

It really be funny when i know they are just all up on me waiting for bloodlust and we just stand there looking at each other having our romantic moment

  • I dont plan on saving up bloodpoints tbh. Already have party streamers/even last yr cakes to start off contributing to the lobby. And eventually, im gonna have so much cakes anyways after playing alot that i wont know what to do with them.

Well, if you feel that strongly about it, go for it. Being gay myself, I never fully understood pride in my early years. I didn’t get it until later in adulthood.

With the issues my trans brothers and sisters are facing, both here in the UK, the US and the rest of the world, LBGT people in Uganda and other locations of the world where we are still so deeply oppressed, representation and awareness is more important than ever.

However, does DBD, a video game, need to do anymore than it already has? I don’t think so. It will not change anything. What BHVR have done so far, is amazing. I give them full credit for it. They support and will hopefully continue to support us.

If you want to advocate for them to add even more representation for us, fine, but it is not needed as they have already shown us more than enough that they see us, and they care. In my eyes.

Well thats good for you. If its enough for you great. But dont diminish your fellow lgbt member's voice in wanting more. I dont approve of that. We get enough if that as it is regardless of where u are.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Please just leave it.

BHVR have made it clear that they support us. They go through the effort to include more backstory into a character who just so happens to like men, and they highlighted that.

They’ve given us an array of charms to represent who we are and even more specifically with unique flags.

They host charity events for us with Into The Rainbow.

It’s enough. Posts like this are just asking for trouble. At its core, DBD is a game for everyone to enjoy, a game, a video game. Not an activist platform. What they have done for us, is enough. They didn’t even have to do any of this, but they did anyway, despite the backlash it still gets.

    Just give it a rest.

I will not give it a rest. No one especially a random on a forum is going to keep me quiet about the importance of having more than 1 representation. 1 black person isnt enough, 1 gay person isnt enough, one asian person isnt enough, 1 autistic person isnt enough etc. So no, i wont rest. Thank you

  • Depends on how far bhvr wanna work on it. The problem isnt the perk as its only 3%. Its the stacking with other perks that makes it effective.

Either the devs can work harder and prevent haste from stacking and take the higher value haste perk. Or they can just make made for this a certain couple of seconds when being injured(40 seconds idk). But knowing them, i can see them going for the latter because it will take alot of coding to prevent haste stacking up than just nerfing one perk on its own.

  • Maybe thats for the best. Even with their "increased production", i still see the same top 5 survivors getting new cosmetics daily anyways which is annoying. But oh well.

But if i think about it, both companies sure love feng and shes about to get her what 6th new cosmetic for this year on core. So, victory goes to the spoils i guess while the others are forgotten or recycled with old cosmetics for sales unfortunately

  • Gen perks that have conditions seem to always be considered "killer perks". I remember people still say the same for potential energy. You need to be strategic in how you are using these new gen perks. They have risks but the rewards is good.

But i wouldnt be surprised for ppl to not branch out and still rely on Prove Thyself since its easy to use.

I unfortunately couldn't watch the stream yesterday, but I've seen the flags, the lack of a lesbian one in other things, and the repeated "more to come" response to people asking about it.

I know BHVR isn't trying to be harmful on purpose, not so much because I believe a company can be LGBT+ friendly just because they're that nice, but because being homophobic on the first day of pride month is not good for business unless bigots are your target (which is obviously not the case here).

I just felt like maybe we should discuss that it's a bit weird and quite uncomfortable to pick and choose who gets to be celebrated and in what order, and also to decide to leave out Lesbians in particular, who have quite an unfortunate history of being left out of LGBT+ content, merch and celebrations (not only by companies but also by LGBT+ associations and the like).

Most lesbians have been made aware their flag is coming sooner later, and (I've scrolled through all the QRTs so believe me on that) they're still not happy. They're not excited about getting their charm later, they're just wondering why do they have to wait, why do they come last, despite being the first letter of the acronym at that.

I know it's not the only flag left out, but it's the only flag left out that we know is already in the files and had leaked along with the other flags which are already available, so while we can just justify the gay flag being missing bc "it wasn't there in the first place so they have to make it and add it" we know you already have the lesbian flag and decided to just.. not release it, which is why the whole thing feels quite uncomfortable.

Which leads it to my second point: Why do lesbians have to wait for "more to come" ?

My very simple guess is that a female character (my hope bet is on Yui) will be announced to be a Lesbian character. If that's the case, it still doesn't justify having to wait for the charm, if anything there's probably going to be at least a handful of people who will believe you announced a lesbian just to make them forget about the flag delay. If that's not the case, I can hardly imagine whatever is "more to come" will justify the delay and make lesbians less mad.

Also, as much I would love more LGBT+ characters, only announcing one of them every pride month (and then forgetting about them the rest of the year), teasing it and dragging it for who knows how long across pride month along celebrations just feels performative (? not sure that's the right word ngl)

I mean after all BHVR is still a company who benefits from all those things, and companies "virtue signaling" during pride month is not at all surprising, but handing us a gay character every pride month to keep us happy doesn't feel that great (even more so that since David was announced gay he barely got anything even though he was quite popular before).

I'm still happy about getting all those flags and would be absolutely thrilled if a woman is confirmed lesbian, but the current situation is a bit uncomfortable so I figured I'd share my thoughts.

(Gotta go catch up on the stream now, bye 👋 and happy pride month)

The part where u said announcing a new lgbt character then forgetting them, i felt that for david king. Especially since they have only been giving out old rift and old cosmetics for him rather than giving him new cosmetics on pride month. But nope, lets continue to give our top 5 survivors new cosmetics every chapter instead because they are our money makers.

If they gonna continue doing this, i rather them not reveal anymore lgbt characters if they are going to ignore them without new shop cosmetic outfits for long period of time.

Nope, I reported it as a bug myself in May, and I am on Steam.

though my reports status did get changed to Fixed, so maybe something buggy was going on (or it was forgotten and that was fixed..)

Oh yea. I remember you. You responded to my post about the same issue. Im honestly just confused over the matter. But regardless, i managed to finally get the shirt anyways. So im happy

This was added to the Iri Shards purchases back in April 2023, a month ago. So no, we definitely haven't forgotten any of our characters.

Huh? Could this must be a console issue? Im a switch user and i checked every day for it to change to iri shards these past 2 months which it finally did yesterday. And i even posted a feedback post on this issue a month ago

Dead hard really deserven't consistency, at all.

That's just not chad enough to be a david perk.

I agree on that. Only chads run davids perks now. Gigachads if you run no mither too

I mean there's a LOT of characters they ignore when it comes to skins, I highly doubt it's cause he's gay.

Its not even the rarity of giving david outfits that bothers me tho. Its just so disappointing that you have a character you put time and effort to be the only lgbt representative of your game. Then when pride month is close by, you just decide to not give or acknowledge that character at all. Its a slap in the face. Its almost like they just used the character for points at the time then threw him away.

If thats how they gonna treat newly lgbt release characters, id rather them not release anymore because its heartbreaking when they do that and instead give cosmetics to their moneymakers survivors every update.

  • I just like to come back to post to remind myself how far we have come. But i get disappointed on how they are ignoring david without new cosmetics and instead give it to feng/meg/nea/kate. Especially with the supposed increased production team. Suuuure.

Tragic how they dispose of a newly lgbt character. And pride month is around the corner. Shame.

    I wonder what's the hold-up with Yoichi.

Also, is it me or did the "super popular" NYE Bunny Feng outfit never showed up in he game after its collection was pulled out of the store? Seems that the FOMO tactic to ensure people will buy the set didn't work as planned...

Thats the crazy part. I rarely see lunar year bunny fengs. I still see pink/green bunny fengs more.
