The ones that sell the most will always get priority. At the end of the day it's a business decision. And I say that as a Zarina main, who doesn't get cosmetics often and when she does they can be very hit or miss.
Oh well. Guess its good for me since I save more money than feng mains. In a way, thats a win for me personally.

Yall really think survivors are gonna switch out their ol reliable Prove Thyself for a niche perk like Scavenger...absolutely not.

built to last requires them to go into lockers and also reduces the max charges of the toolbox. it is not the same.
Sweetie. You gotta get 4 great skill checks on a used up toolbox. Most of these survivors cant even hit great skill checks to save their life. This is basically hyperfocus once again. Scared of the perks potential then its rarely used on live servers.

The 'Haddie hive mind' on twitter have turned some people against her but other than that it's simply because a lot of people didn't like her character model and made a bigger deal about it than neccessary.
And those type of ppl definitely causes me to turn off from her. Its great that she beginning to get more cosmetics. But even then, she's still a rare sight to see which is odd. Loud minority on dbdtwt but in the game, they arent even playing her much still.

You didn't reference that post at all. You said the devs are ignoring their first lgbt character to which I said was an unfair thing to say. You could've reiterated your point and mentioned how much the character means to you and in a nice way said you would like to see more cosmetics for him. You didn't do that though. You went straight to pointing fingers at the devs saying they are ignoring him.
Like i said, i kept it simple and to the point because they are ignoring him right now. Its a fact. Im not gonna sugarcoat it. And they know it too.

I don't think the Lunar event was done just because Feng is in the game. Other games do Lunar events (World of Warcraft and Overwatch come to mind) and its not because they have any particular character in the game.
Its fine if you think David King should get more cosmetics, but you did argue your point based on his sexuality by mentioning him and pride month as a concerning reason to you why he hasn't received more attention. Sometimes I wonder if David being gay is the only thing about him people care about.
Yes I did argue that because pride month is around the corner. Of course im gonna use that. And i really dont have to explain more about his character because for one, i wanted to make the post short and sweet to the point. And two, we literally already have a pinned post about david king on this forum that has been pinned for over a year explaining the impact of his character meaning alot to him. And being gay adds on to it. I really dont have to go more into detail when that post in itself explains everything for me about him and how popular he is and impactful to the community

Responding to a character's popularity with more cosmetics isn't tokenizing the character. Its just good business. Your argument was based entirely around the sexuality of a survivor as being the only reason why they should get more cosmetics. That is tokenism.
It is tokenism of her. Because they did it before with feng racially by giving her a lunar year event and a prime reward in the same month when any one of those outfits couldve gone to any other less used characters like jake, yui, etc. Instead they give both to her. I dont have a problem with them using this tactic to boost their sales, but i would like to see consistency by giving these opportunities to other characters besides her on special occasions. And david deserves it because he is popular on the male side of the roster. They even confirmed it themselves when they revealed his sexuality.

This is completely unfair to say they are ignoring him. "Because he's gay" isn't a good excuse to give him a skin. It should be because he's David King and not completely defined by his sexuality. This attitude of expecting lgbt characters to be treated differently by virtue of their sexuality is selfish and risks turning them into just a token character. If you care about this game then you shouldn't say things like "I don't care if they sell or not." You're wanting a character to be given special treatment regardless if it would benefit the company in any way. What will happen with the next lgbt character? Will this attitude persist? Will they be expected to become the face of DBD and set apart just because they are an lgbt character? Diversity is good when it happens naturally and goes unnoticed, not when a red carpet is rolled out for a character because they're not straight.
Yea. Once again. I dont care. Because other characters like feng(who barely has lore and is a stale character) is treated like a token character anyways because they are exploiting her cuteness to get more money. She's literally getting spoon fed with cosmetics while others get crumbs.

Well he is no longer popular in my games. I am almost never seeing him.
But i hope they add more skins for people who maining him.
By male standards, he's still common. Maybe you are going by overall roster. Obviously, you'll see more on the female side than male in general, but i literally still see him several times a day.

You care or not, that's the fact i said. They are a company. So if they use their sources, they will expect to win money. That's how companies works.
And David is not alone. All of unpopular survivors have similar treatment.
But david isnt unpopular. They said it themselves that he is popular. So i dont know what you're talking about comparing david to other unpopular survivors.
-

DbD is a game and BHVR is not charity organization. Feng is keep getting costumes because they are selling. You are really expecting them to stop making Feng skins and give them to unpopular survivors?
Hey, actually they did this with the last collection. Unpopular survivors got skins and yet, they were still nowhere like ghosts.
I dont care if they sell or not. To simply ignore your first official lgbt character with not even one incoming skin for pride month is honestly embarassing.
-
Most likely so. They usually go for add ons that are overperforming, which is definitely his iri add ons. Killers like blights are untouched because regardless of add ons, the killer just performs well regardless of add ons so they wont touch him.
Also, bhvr has more permission opportunities with licenses like silent hill than halloween franchise. They are even working with each other with future silent hill games too. So pyramid head had some recent add on changes and cheryl got some recent cosmetics.

That is true. But in my case, i was very surprised. All four of us did not give up nor lose hope. We were really invested in finishing. Which is a first for me especially in solo, because ppl would usually give up quickly in our scenario.
-
For your case, you needed to wait 3 days b4 the dc penalty went out. Then right after wait 24 hrs for the ban level to go down by 1 level which would be 48 hrs for you.
Then another 24 hrs is will reset the ban to 24 hrs timer.
Basically, the level goes down by 1 every 24 hrs after whatever your dc penalty time was. If you got 72 hrs, i would recommend waiting a full week for that timer to go back to 1 min dc penalty level
-
I love hacking her drones. But overall i do like playing against her because it really test your coordination with your team with generator pressure. I like that. But as a solo q player, i can tell based on the rate my team are hitting gens if we will win or not against her.

I literally dont care if the person achieved a 1000 streak. The only thing i cared about is how they achieved it. Yes, it was to prove a point that tunneling is powerful and something should be done about it. But the player only amplified the problem by doing so in majority of the games in the streak.
Good job. Fine whatevs. But i feel bad for that one player every match who most likely got tunneled and didnt get the opportunity to get a full experience in a match. I swear most killers treat this game comp while most survivors just play this game casually.
-
Why? The description literally fits davids lore and playstyle. A broken man starting the trials. So stubborn that he doesnt need help in picking himself up and doesnt whine about it.
But the perk is honestly just for those players that just like high risk high reward playstyles. Which not many ppl even like to do in the community. Most play it safe.
-
Jokes on you. I still run dead hard and coh in my builds. Its just a fun playstyle for me even if they nerfed it even more. Love being in the killers face when it matters and coh makes me even more coordinated and responsive to my team in new coh.

That's even worse, so your enjoyment comes at the expense of making sure the killer had a bad time or a defeat?
I get DBD players are toxic but it's beyond gross to take pleasure in someone else's defeat. You should be happy when you win, not when others win, and definetly NOT when you made someone else lose, that's pure sociopath behavior.
Based! I love getting satisfaction in a killer losing a game by being a poor sport. We can both be losers together while 3 other ppl are winners!
-
I think its fine. But maybe they could adjust it back to 50% instead. But new coh does give solo q players the option to be more coordinated with the new aura reveal and be altruistic which is nice to see.

Yes, being unhooked or unhooking yourself activates the perk - so it stores it. If you are healed and haven't used it - it's ready for the next time you are injured and need to use it.
But i would like to know if you use dead hard out of the blue with no killer around. Will you be able to use it again once exhaustion is over? This was addressed in the very 1st dev patch notes however, in the ptb it was bugged to not reactivate if you just use dh and the killer doesnt hit you.
So this is causing alot of confusion in the community that you can only have max 2 dh when you may be able to use it more than twice in a match
-
Mikaela is honestly getting cosmetics every patch. But im glad a while chapter where feng doesnt get a cosmetic is nice
-
I still to this day dont know why ppl just stopped using wglf. Technically, it was buffed by adding endurance to your dying teammate. Yet ppl have emphasized the importance of bloodpoints when it has nothing to gain you an advantage during the match. If anything, it makes you unhook players recklessly even when its detrimental to your team.
And keep in mind. Bbq is still used alot to this day even with bps gone from it.

A...a buff to DH? Ummm.... this did not happen. Each survivor can now use DH a max of 2 times, vs the max of 6 times in the prior update notes.
Erm. Dont be selfish. That 1 survivor saving everyone for 6 max dh is definitely not helpful when everyone on a team can get 2 each. Thats much better to stabilize dh usage rate. Most would not bring ptb dh if they believe they wouldnt get the opportunity to save and get it. Now its guarenteed to get a dh activation for everyone.
-
I just think its best not to get to amped up about it. Everyone has different playstyles. And luckily we have the UI update for better coordination. Of course, its up to you what you want to do, be it trade or not. Or be petty and dont help the person who never helped at all. End of the day, the objective is to escape.
-
I tbag only if the killer tunneled or camped my teammates. Bad sportsmanship brings more bad sportsmanship.
-
You honestly should be on gens if a killer is hard camping. But if you wanna save last second before 2nd state and trade is up to you.
-
I believe pharmacy would be a better choice to run imo. Because if perks like inner healing rise, so will haunted grounds/thrill of the hunt etc that arent used much right now.

@Peanits said:
If you only buff weaker perks, you end up with power creep. Each perk needs to be better than the last in order to dethrone the meta, and so over time perks would become stronger and stronger. Eventually you'd reach a point where perks are ridiculously strong and have far too much impact on a match, making skillful play less important than the perks you brought.
Even beyond that, this simply is not feasible. There's 228 perks in the game. Even if we assume that 50 are in a really good spot (already meta in this case) and don't need any changes whatsoever, that's over 170 perk updates that need to be done just to balance things.
Instead, we do a bit of both. Most perks are already in a decent spot and see a good amount of use, but there's a few outliers that either don't get used enough or are used way too much. Bringing the top few down and some of the bottom few up is a lot more manageable. You pretty much answered yourself with your example. With Dead Hard being weaker, suddenly there's a lot more reason to bust out Lithe, Sprint Burst, or another exhaustion perk instead.
But i will say with dh being nerfed, yes, we will see the percentage of usage rise within sprint burst, lithe and maybe even balanced landing. But is it inevitable that they too will be nerfed for being overused? There is a possibility.

You can't. If the killer wants to tunnel, you have no recourse as anyone other than the tunnelled.
I said until you get a safe hook prompt. I didnt say prevent the hard tunneling until 5 gens pop. This is just about getting that dh token from a safe unhook. Thats it. Its not hard to do. Take a hit if you must
-
@Firellius said:
It's a really trash change that does everything the community doesn't want: It's blocked by camping, disabled by hard-tunnelling, and is going to work significantly worse in solo queue than in swiffers.
For one, its honestly your responsibility to make sure the person you unhooked doesnt get tunneled for the next few seconds at least to get the safe unhook. Dont just leave them to die.
-
Funny you say that because the new perks "teamwork" is a new mechanic of perks they are trying but nobody uses it. Its like they are limiting and making all their hardwork of new interactions much weaker that nobody will use it
-
I think its more frowned upon on survivors is because hit and run are usually used on killers that get an ez hit from sneal attacks that require little effort and little chase to no chase at all.
However thats just dbd tho. Its supposed to be the most scary and hectic when that tactic is used. But most ppl forget about that and just want the chasing aspect of it between killer rather than an ez sucker punch.
-
Like i care. One, there was a 40% chance of me pulling it off. And 2. If less ppl use it, then maybe my odds of getting a dh success will rise now
-
I mean. Yea thats holding it hostage. Doing nothing. But if you were at least touching the gen then hiding when they come by, then thats not taking it hostage.
As long as a gen is being touched, then you cant be banned. Even if ur a god at hiding.
-
Funny how ppl keep complaining about 3 gen strats when potential energy is literally right there. But nobody wants to use it. Oh well.

It’s still very strong and viable with just Call of Brine, add in Overcharge and Nowhere To Hide and you can definitely still hardcore protect your 3 gens. The fact that they released another 3 gen based killer worries me that there’ll be even more complaints about the strat which means Call of Brine and possibly even Overcharge won’t be lasting too much longer.
Strong yes. But at that point the team needs to aggressively hit those gens and skill checks that cob+overcharge shouldnt even matter. You outta be hitting gens or getting chased. It was the incapacitation part that gave majority of 3 gen wins.
I cant tell you how many times ive lost in a 3 gen because i had to sit there for 25 seconds when a killer decides to chase and down someone when i was almost done with it. And im very aggressive with gens. Trust, with this eruption nerf. Sure, cob+overcharge will be more prominent, but you just gotta persevere the long game and the survivors can finish them.
-
It seems they may revisit those when the time is right. But for now, it seems they are introducing a new type of perk they advertized during the behind the scenes trailer which is "teamwork" perks from new survivors. Now i can see not being as strong as boons since you need to coordinate very well with your ally to pull it off. But i like this new approach.
-
With eruption reworked, holding a 3 gen is a bit weaker on killers all around. And her exposed power at least incentives her to chase the survivor if she has a 3 gen unlike knight who will just leave a guard there then leave.
But im looking forward to this chapter. New perks, new powers, new ways to interact with each other during a match.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3360795#Comment_3360795
Yeah, they're busted af. Which is why survs would be foolish not to run them. I've said before, but medkits stand alone in utility among surv items. Unless you're trying to genrush or doing a blind challenge, there's really no reason to run anything but a medkit.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3360830#Comment_3360830
For sure. And if a killer hooks someone in the end game, they're going to be at least proxy camping, because there is really nothing else for them to do at that point. I hate having to leave someone on hook, but if I'm injured and there's no one else, what else can you do?
No worries. I pay close attention to hud and know if they heal. I always assume by default that they have a brown medkit. If they heal once, then ill heal them regardless if they have more charges once unhooked
-
I literally leave you after i unhook you when i see you have a medkit tbh
-
Its crazy how as a no mither gamer, i need dead hard and deserve it more than the average non no mither gamer. And we may suffer for it once again. Id be fine if dead hard only activates if you're broken tbh.

Its honestly a missed opportunity on their part. And i dont understand why they havent made cosmetics for such an accomplishment.

@Xernoton said:
Not immediately. I'll probably buy her with shards eventually (seeing as I have all characters in the game) but I'm not in a rush. I could by some cosmetics first. I don't really plan on playing her anyway.
She's boring, weak and not well thought out. Her stealth is a joke. Her tracking, which is her biggest strength is subpar, and she doesn't have any creative ways to be played. She's neither tactical or mechanically demanding and she has nothing to make her a bit nicer to play. Why would I play her, when I could play Wraith instead? Slap on a few aura perks and you have a killer that is better in every aspect and more fun.
Her perks aren't really good either. Thwack! might be pretty fun to use but it's one of these perks you use once or twice and never again.
Wraith? A simplistic killer. Eh well. Not every killer player can handle demanding/complicated killers like skull merchant. But i cant be mad. Everyones playstyle is different of course.

Now, think about what you just said. You're 100% right that we shouldn't remove these.
Why though? The reason is that this would make the game overall less fun (apart from balancing problems, which I pointed out exist for DH as well). That was exactly my point regarding DH. It makes the game less fun overall. The one using it will either be frustrated because it doesn't work or they'll have fun using this perk because it does work for them. Killers on the other hand? How exactly is it fun to be forced to play around a perk that you don't even know is in the game yet? And then, you don't play around it once or twice but pretty much every single chase. If you risk going for the lunge and hit DH, you give that survivor the ultimate advantage in chase. A free health state. This can easily cost you the game, if it happens repeatedly. Even 1 DH is enough to put you into a losing position in a game that would otherwise be close. That gets frustrating after a while.
This is why killers play around it and this is also why DH is no fun when you go against it. I can live with a survivor making a good play on me. In fact that makes the game more interesting. DH on the other hand is always the same. You get into position to hit the survivor, now you wait. On top of that it makes the game stale. Any seasoned killer will expect survivors to run DH because it has been by far the most used perk in the game and it still is. In 6 years nothing has changed in that regard.
Something being fun doesn't make it healthy. That's exactly the case with DH.
Just as you can win or lose and still have fun, you can play with or without DH and still have fun. Otherwise you might want to consider playing another game instead.
No. The reason i said that is because it removes a playstyle/interaction between killer and survivor. The mindgames are very interesting. And i agree, you can have fun with or without dh. But whether you like it or not, dh isnt going anywhere.
-
@Xernoton said:

It's fun for you. For the one using it, DH is fun. You know what else is fun? Completely annihilating your opponent. If we only care about how fun things are for one side, then we should remove every anti-tunnel and anti-camp perk as the killer has fun winning and these strategies make that much easier. Somehow I doubt the majority of survivor players would be happy about that.
I said I wanted this perk nuked, not nerfed. Meaning I want see DH gutted so hard that no one would risk running it anymore as it would be virtually impossible to get value out of it.
Another option, that I support 100% was suggested by @BenOfMilam in this thread. The idea is to make DH an anti-tunnel perk. That would make this perk useful, healthy and for the first time ever not a giant "F you!" that the killer has to endure in almost every chase.
Im sorry, i stopped reading when u said that we should remove anti camp and tunnel perks for the sake of killers winning is their fun which isnt and should not be the case unless ur just entitled. You can win or lose and still have fun.
-
@Xernoton said:
It took 6 years for this perk to finally get a nerf with the big meta shake up in patch 6.1.0. That patch pushed Ruin and Pop out of the meta as well as some other perks. BHVR nuked Ruin and Pop so hard they're arguable pretty weak right now. Yes, you can get value out of them but both are too weak to even be worth a perk slot when there are so many better alternatives, which is why killers use different perks. Not to mention you don't need to heavily adjust your gameplay to these perks.
Why does DH get a pass? It's been in the meta for 6 years. We got a rework and now the completely uncounterable DH for distance is gone. Only this didn't remove the perk from the meta at all. At first we saw countless arguments about how useless DH was, however now it's back in every game on multiple survivors. The game is still Dead by Dead Hard. The perk defines the killer experience. You (as an experienced player) will not go into a game and not play around DH.
Killers became CONDITIONED to play around a perk that they don't even know is in the game yet. You cannot tell me that this is a good design. We see countless complaints about it because the one thing that really needed to change was having to wait every single time before being allowed to hit. It is disgusting, boring, not skilled in the slightest and very tiring after a while.
By the way, Eruption had the exact same counterplay. "JuST WAiT iT OUt" and it is (will change soon) pretty much the most hated perk on the survivors' side. Also, if waiting wasn't a big deal why would 25 seconds of Incapacitated be a problem, then? It is boring, non-interactive and wastes time that you don't have. Just like DH.
It doesn't even matter, if DH is strong or not. What actually matters is that killers will always have to counter it because if they don't, they will need 3 hits per chase, which is obviously something that 90% of the killer roster simply can't handle. Mind you BHVR stated they balance around 45 seconds chases. A survivor with 3 health states will easily exceed those 45 seconds.
It is especially punishing for newer players as well. How do you explain to a new player, that they will always need to wait for the survivor to use it before being allowed to swing? I was in that situation before. A friend of mine, who at the time was fairly new DBD played one of his first games as killer. 3 survivors had DH. I could see that these people weren't a professional comp squad and I probably would wipe the floor with them but my friend, who was happy to get a hit after 40s of chase also had to account for DH. Of course he failed to do that. He would have lost the game anyway but going out of it with only 2 hooks because three survivors would simply waste extra time by pressing "E" adds insult to injury.
Isn't this the whole reason why some things don't get the buffs they desperately need to compete with good players? Because then newer players would have a horrible time going against them? It's not only a matter of balancing, it's a matter of quality of life at this point. This has gone on long enough. It's time to put an end to this misery.
To the people, who argue that DH isn't even that good and that the killer will simply wait it out every time; Why is DH still in every game, then? If you can't get value out of it, then just use a different perk already! Nerfing the perk to obscurity wouldn't affect you anyway and it might be the only chance for this meta to ever truly change. Don't just nerf it. Nuke it! Let it burn in hell!
It is unhealthy for the reasons I listed above and it shouldn't go on any longer.
Sorry hun. But dh is just fun to use. Its that high risk high reward playstyle that alot of ppl are attracted to. They can gut it even more but if there is a timed activation still attached to this perk, it will still be the most used perk. And its not consistent whatsoever as it entirely depends on the interaction of sirvivor and killer including ping which eruption is not. So there is a reason eruption is being touched as higher priority.

Yes but, what should they be saying? Nothing short of "okay we're completely changing everything" would actually be a response to what people are saying, and they obviously shouldn't be doing that for a myriad of reasons- and even if you think they should, that's not "official comment", that's "changing everything".
There's nothing they can actually say that would sate the people who are mad about this, so we're automatically moving out into the realms of them making changes, and making changes that fundamentally change what this chapter looks like would anger all the people who actually like it. There's nothing to do but ride it out, from a business perspective.
Like I said, if there were something to respond to I would agree with you, but this is just people disliking a chapter in general.
I agree. If anything. If most ppl dont like the chapter, theyll just move on and give the twins treatment. No cosmetics, no rework until the far future etc
