I have just tried 3 hours of not tunnelling and camping, until final gen pops that is. This includes not switching targets to the unhooked one being healed, even if I run pass them in a chase. Even left a baby Dwight who I could have easily tunnelled out quite quickly.
0k to 1k in most of my matches. Therefore I think tunnelling is needed to make the match a bit less stress inducing and more fair for low to mid skilled killers.
-
I had 3 hits in a row yesterday that didn't register. Granted, those hits were just before pallet throws on my view. It was quite infuriating lol.
-
They also talked about crafting, allowing you to turn add ons and offerings you don't use into things you do use.
Also changing the brown bp offerings as they don't provide much benefit, if any.
I call it 'pulling a molyneux' after Peter molyneux. Overpromises yet under delivers.

Lol, are they serious. So don't run gen perks and mmr will balance out.
In any other game 60%-70% win rate is considered incredible, in dbd killers are salty they are loosing their 90% win rate without even trying and reading the chat. Get a bloody grip you salty killer mains.
I'm lucky if I'm getting a 30% win rate at the highest percentage. I am not in the top tier of killers but keep getting the much better survivors. Even with Ruin and pop gens are still flying. Not everyone can pressure 4 gens at once if they all split up. Chase one good looper and 3 gens pop.
There are far too many pallets and good loops the survivor can use. Why do you think you only see high mobility/phasing killers in top ranks? Not everyone wants to, or even likes, playing these all the time.

"Killers seem to have issues dealing with gen speed"
"Oh, are they using the perks that help with that?"
"No"
"Weird... hope they start using them"
"Me too"
Why do killers really have to waste perk slots to cover for bad design. Yes, survivors can run leader and such to speed up gens but even if they went in with no gen speed perks they still fly too fast unless you're a high end killer.
No, according to survivors they can bring any perk they like without question but if a killer takes ruin/undying they get slated for using 'crutch perks'.
-
The second day after sbmm went live my killer matches were perfect. Now they are back to me facing ultra hard-core survivors even though I keep losing.
-
They should put bloodpoints on the free track. This is the worst battle pass in any game I have seen, too many empty spaces on free track.
-
It's so annoying when that happens. You have to run to the box, find a little crevice were hooks won't hit you and then solve otherwise it's impossible.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's a bug and was intended this way. It needs changing bhvr.

So the resurrected survivors will have a negative permanent state.
For example, weaker health status and extremely weakened interaction speed. (may need to be weakened a bit more)
Once the survivor is resurrected and returned to the four people, the mentioned game mechanism will be triggered, which will reduce the repair speed of the generator and increase the time of the game.
And the killer can get extra blood points or Iridescent Shards as a reward for facing additional survivors.
This method is mainly to protect those weaker players who are targeted.
So some restrictions will be added
For example, a player who has been hooked twice in a short period of time can be resurrected And the number of objects and methods required for resurrection is limited, and at most they can only be resurrected once or twice.
But the weaker players are targeted because someone needs to be taken out. 4v1 can be very strong, too strong sometimes depending on players skill.
As I say, even with 50% reduced speed a good looper could still loop a killer for the time it takes that survivor to do a gen. It would be far too strong.
If this happened I would change my mind on the 2 killers in a match idea. Then I may strongly reconsider my objections to this.
-
The way to fix it is for the hooked survivor to remain there as long as possible, too many dc allowing the next victim to be camped.
The second part is, if you are being camped, survivors do gens. A lot of them right now decide to hook bomb and stay downed near the hook. Two camps in one. Worse still hook bombing the basement camper, seen this far too many times.
Kindred needs to be basekit for this very reason.
-
See you in a few weeks. I myself have made a couple of posts about leaving too, as many others have, yet a lot of us remain lol.
Seriously though, Just take a break for a month or two and come back with a fresh perspective. It's still competitive if you are playing to win.

Sometime its because you have the crossplay activated. You have some period of time were the game is more fun specially during the day survivor are more chill and what i can see the mmr is better too so maybe people prefer to play killer at those time. Dont worry after 6pm you should have instant lobby
Eu server here. My insomnia is playing up so playing throughout the night.
My killer queue times are still long at that time too.

There has been a grade reset, that took everyone to Ash IV, as explained here:
Will those of us who never got our rank reset bp due to the after game crash still get it at some point?

@Libervita said:
We need to sort out the information.
The current survivors are too strong when they are full. We need to increase the mechanism to reduce the repair speed of the generator and let the killer have time to interact with the survivors.
The current killer is too targeted, we need to allow the targeted players to have the right to enjoy the game.
Moreover, the resurrection will require many conditions, which will definitely make the remaining humans put down the generators and value their teammates, and the resurrected teammates cannot be so strong.
These opinions are added mechanisms to avoid poor gaming experience of both parties.
So that the killer will not be repaired generator quickly.
Let the weak survivors have the right to enjoy the game.
I still think it's far too survivor sided. The resurrected players can still body block a run to the exit or sabotage hooks. What does the Killer get out of this except more aggro and stress?
Killers need players out of the game so generators won't go too fast, even at 50% speed that's still one on a generator.
Pointless to kill if they keep coming back, may as well just farm points game after game.

@Purgatorian The streamers said it'd last at least 2 months.
OK but I seem to be doing better without gen defense lol.
I hope most killers sign up for this though, I know not all will because the wins are their life apparently.
It will be interesting to see if popular streamers follow suit too.
-
Ranks mean nothing at all now, it has no effect on matchmaking anymore.
You also cannot drop grade, only lose your pips.
-
No, it's bad enough strong survivors being matched with weaker players without allowing them back in the game once sacrificed.
What if you somehow got the strongest player out positioned, you have a one shot killer who somehow manages to get those three hooks. You would feel good to have beat them. Then to see them reappear back in the game within a couple of minutes. No thanks.
Something does need to be done but resurrection is not one of them lol.

Rank reset day now brings everyone back to Ash IV and gives BP reward.
Supposed to give a bp reward lol. A lot of us were conned out of it just by playing during reset.
-
Although this one is taking longer to get in a game as killer I want to be able to learn killers I have not played yet. This was impossible with the old system as you always got extremely fast games with the really good loopers without any breathing room.
My survivor queue time is almost instant though.

But then that would make the grind easier and people would get “bored” of DBD because they unlocked everything.
:eyeroll:
The grind itself is too boring. It's far too long and tedious without having to use perks to increase bp gain.
-
Considering ptb is basically free advertising for them considering the amount of streamers, we basically never got everything that was advertised.
Ptb is not about finding out what players think of it, it's bhvr getting free publicity for a new killer.

There's only ever been one 3x BP event, the Blood Feast. It happened from the 4th to 7th of August, 2017.
I believe the devs said they were never going to do it again.
Back then there were not so many perks. I think they should look at their decision again or at least one double bp weekend event per month.
-
Never heard of this until now and, even though I'm not a top rank killer, willing to take part.
I doubt the devs will take a any notice but it's worth a shot. Please, all killers, take part in this.
How long for?

Just wondering how many hour are you im around 400 and its been the same experience for me really good survivors full meta 0-1k most games.
Over 2k spread over PS4 and PS5 and Xbox. I'm not a good killer but losing match after match so badly against much stronger survivors than me should end up with more balanced matches.
Well not today it seems, loss after loss after loss.
-
I had one good day the other day of matchmaking. Now it's gone back to 0k or 1k and still getting the stronger survivors no matter how many matches I lose. Tried playing a lot of spirit matches and getting trounced in every single one of them.
Don't dc and you won't get the ban. Disconnecting hurts everyone in the game so you should get a ban. If it's an unintentional disconnect happening many times, you should take that ban time and find the cause of the problem.

Rewards dont seem to be happening for people who were playing when reset happened.
Yeah, I got the crash after a game but no reward on starting the game back up too.
-
Just crashed for me too on ps5
-
I can't vote right now due to not knowing the full mechanics of all the games. I would say evil dead though just for the name alone.
I like Dead by Daylight because the survivors can't fight back and must use the resources available on the map or hide.
I was interested in vhs until I looked it up and saw you could attack the killer directly.
I dropped out of resident evil resistance due to the fact fighting the creatures gave too much of a time bonus so things like that would go against it too.
I wish for some serious competition for dead by daylight but games similar to it which allows you to fight back always seem to fail. Deathgarden (although bhvr as well) and predator hunting grounds, as well as many others that turn it into a shooter, take away so much from the horror, failed.
It needs to be something like dead by daylight but takes it to the next level and devs who listen to their players. You know, the people who are keeping the game going and providing them a profit.
-
There's nemesis. Just let them get a stun on you and they will become the new obsession. That's up to 4 out of 5 done in one game

Clown for Pop goes the weasel, not doctor. Hillybilly for tinkerer would be also good.
Not sure how I got that mixed up since I have been playing a lot of clown lol. Doctor for monitor and abuse then lol.
Thanks for the correction.
-
I like it, it's different. All the others are kill the survivors, this one allows you to watch their descent into eternal torment.
Imo it's one of the best ones in the game, if not the best. I just wish it had some lighting effect like the trailer, the killer shack looked fab.

Let them know you're not pleased with them by getting bubba and facecamping the hook. Chainsaw anyone who dares attempting to de-hook
Insidious for the win lol

So does the picture split screen, one half hook, other half Pinhead?
It may be a little confusing unless Pinhead goes on autopilot kind of like the.mobile version lol.

At low mmr, they basically refuse to do gens, I am really surprised you are running into this issue. Ideally you tunnel to counter their gen rush, at least without slowdown that is what you should do if you can't keep up.
Don't you come in here teaching new players bad manners. Telling him to tunnel will cause a band of mercenary survivors to lynch you lol.
-
If you've just started it may be a little rough for a while. With sbmm though it should start matching you with newer players too.
Take your time, remember your mistakes and you will slowly learn how to mindgame and how to loop survivors. Monitor their patterns on how they loop.
You are basically in the training phase if you are new and will take a while to start processing everything, especially if frustration takes hold.
Just play for fun and focus more on getting bp for perks rather than a 4k. Mostly, remember it's just a game. If it starts angering you too much turn it off for a while and come back later.
Leatherface first for bbq, hag for ruin, clown for pop. Bbq really helps getting bloodpoints, ruin and pop for slowdown. Best thing to do is look up a list of perks and see which ones you like. Beware there are some not very useful perks too lol.
Also don't try learning killers with their strongest addons as these won't always be available to you. I like trying to learn new killers with yellow, green add ons to begin with.
-
@illusion said:
You realize that ranks have zero to do with the MMR system now? They are meaningless. Also, in a balanced game, you are not meant to get 4k's every game. Survivors are meant to be able to escape. An average of 2 kills per game would likely be the average they are going for.
Which I find ridiculous in this type of horror game. It should be one escaping like the final girl/guy trope in horror movies.
-
Oh dear, the worst I had was 200ms for my first few matches when sbmm went live. Averaging between 30-50ms over the last 24 hours.
Hope this gets sorted for you. Can't imagine the pain the game is for you right now but don't want to experience it lol.
-
You say the one thing a survivor should do is evade the killer? You get nothing for your chase emblem score for doing that so the game encourages you to get into chases. If it didn't you would get points for going unnoticed instead.
To be fair though, the game does need some good competition as the devs have gotten complacent and we are all waiting for that day to happen. If nothing else at least it will give bhvr a kick up the bum to give the players what they ask for, not just what they think is best.
-
I'm not complaining. I kept asking for it to be put on full time, glad it happened.
Then again, I'm not in the top tier of killers so not facing sweaty matches one after the other. I get some but not nearly as often as I used to.

Yeah I think I might have faced you on the sanctum of wrath. Dunno though,
What cosmetic were you wearing?
The Lord of the underworld Greek mythology outfit. I hope it was one of my good games if it was me and not one in which 3 gens popped and ruin taken out before I get some hooks lol. Sorry if it was one of those tunnelling, camping games.
-
It took me about 6-10 hours for my clown games to settle, that's in matches and not queuing. A bit too long imo. I still have many others to get a balanced rating on, makes me a little nervous to try lol.
-
Once my killer rating settles on all killers it will be fine, I am going off my data with my clown matches right now. They seem to be tough but fair with the occasional 4k or 0k and 1k. Mostly averaging at a 2k but with everyone on deathhook.
Since more hooks means more bp compared to one hook kills, I am happy with this.
Survivor matches are fine for the most part except far too many 5 gen tunnellers and campers. At least let 2 gens be completed before starting those tactics please.
-
I'm guessing pebble might as well but never tried it. It may be hard hitting near a zombies detection range though.
-
To please some survivors it would have to be a killer whose power is to freeze in place or disable their weapons.
No killer power, no matter how weak or strong, would please some survivors if they can still be killed.
-
They did talk about a crafting system once that enables you to turn items you didn't use into something useful but nothing has been spoken of it since. I think it was the 4th anniversary stream.
-
I have been tunnelled and camped so much I am back with the people who hide when the terror radius is first heard lol.
I am still finding my games as survivor more enjoyable because I am being matched with killers I have a fair chance of looping for a short time. Before sbmm I was being matched with killers who would down me either before, or as soon as, I reach the loops.
I freely admit that I have never been good in a chase but now at least I have a chance of prolonging the game for me a little bit.
-
I got that from the start of sbmm going live until last night, probably 15-20 hours of playing.
Last night my matches seemed more fair though. I focused on clown to get him a settled rating so not sure if it will be the same when switching killer.
I'm sure it will settle soon unless you are one of the much better players than I am. Don't give up yet and try to battle through. I understand match after match being placed in seemingly unbeatable games is extremely stressful and morale breaking but hopefully it settles like it did with me and you can have fun again.
-
I love levelling in games, huge rpg fan, so my goal is to get everyone to p3-50 then I'll just keep raising my devotion level as high as I can. I just wish it did something instead of just shards though.
Apart from that my goal is just to have fun.
-
I don't think everyone seeing everyone else's sbmm rating is such a good idea. I would like to be able to see my own though, just to keep an eye on it and see what score I'm working best at.
-
I used to really hate swf players or solo type swf who seem to know what's going on all the time.
Maybe last night was a one off, possibly didn't get many swf, but sbmm is actually giving me teams around my skill level. I may win a few matches then get a few really tough teams or solo players but I know now that it won't be long before I can get more than 4 hooks again. If it keeps up like last nights games then I'm impressed so far.
I used to want an swf indicator but I now fear if I dodge their lobbies I may miss out on some chill, pleasant yet not easy, matches.
