Ever since it’s nerf, decisive strike has dropped in popularity and usage. It’s simply too weak on certain killers to be worth it. I’m proposing a buff that will make it better to use. It might be a little to strong but here’s my idea.
Decisive Strike
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive strike activates. While active complete a skillcheck while grabbed to escape, stunning the killer for 3/4/5 seconds.
- Succeeding or failing the skillcheck disables the perk
- you become obsession when using the perk
- the perk disables permanently when the exit gates are powered
- taking any conspicuous action will deactivate the perk. If the killer hooks another survivor the perk deactivates.
TLDR: I removed the timer so it’s truly an anti tunneling perk and brought the stun time back to 5 seconds. But I added a condition so if the killer hooks another survivor the perk shuts off so people can’t abuse the infinite duration.
I'd also make it apply off of both hook states.
Other than that, agreed.

DS still buys a lot of time if used properly(going down in the area that has any safe tiles, which is very easily achievable with the basekit BT), can be combined with OTR and DH for the ultimate anti-tunnel combo. Only times when it's not a good perk is when you go down with it in a complete deadzone and can't achieve any tile after a stun(which is usually a misplay on survivor part) and against Nurse because, well, Nurse. DH is strong by itself albeit not as strong as SB and Lithe, but it really shines in combo with Made For This which basically means you can have full value of the haste and then press DH to buy even more time. Basically these perks are good individually but are insane in combinations.
I disagree.
DS's stun is meaningless to most Killers. It's 2 seconds.
DH is so situational and dependent on not only the Killers ping, but also requires a lot of skill to use properly.
Neither of these perks are worth running anymore. You'd be better off with other perks that will get you more consistent value.

Nurse's tome did not retcon her original lore.
Ghostface's original chase music was better than his current one.
Wesker's chase music is as overrated as himself.
Skull Merchant's chase music is pretty alright.
Wesker and Legion's chase music does not fit as chase music.
Deathslinger's chase music is too long and should be reduce in length.
DBD do not need complex gameplay or mechanics, it's simplicity is one of it's strengths as it allows anyone to quickly pick it up and jump in.
Pre-rework MacMillan color tint was awful to look at.
An operation health patch wouldn't do much for this game other than maybe allow for a few extra features like replay to be supported.
Old Hillbilly was the third most unfun killer to face next to Blight and Wesker, his rework made him at least a bit more tolerable to face.
I hope old dbd stays buried and gone for good, the sooner we get rid of or rework all remaining elements from old dbd, the better.
Bhvr should never have gone for last generation consoles and instead just waited for the next one before releasing dbd on consoles altogether.
Trickster has more horror to him than half of the killer roster does.
Stranger Things should never returns.
Popular content creators should not have anymore say over the game's balance than anyone else no matter what.
Core dbd stay as far away from mobile dbd's cosmetics as possible.
Competitive mode and casual mode would be a waste of time and resources.
Meg's deathgarden mask should never have been given out to the public after the game died.
Rift charms should have their own place in the store.
Charms should have some minor but cool effects to them when equipped, just like the masquerade invitation Effect that floats around your character's body when collected.
Artist is way more fun to play as and against than Huntress.
There are certainly...takes in there.

@JustAShadow said:
- Deathslinger is extremely underrated and is a stronger killer than Huntress against good players.
- Bond and Kindred should be basekit survivor mechanics.
- Distortion is overtuned in its' current form.
- DS and DH are both still very strong perks.
- Hag is overrated and is C tier at best if survivors know what they are doing.
How do you figure DS and DH are still very strong perks?

Generally speaking, SWF=Killer.
Most DBD players are bad and refuse to even consider that THEY might be the issue, not the game.

I'm perfectly fine with losing given I'm just playing for bp, but let's be real... When you CAN'T CATCH UP NO MATTER WHAT? Come on now. I literally just chased a guy on red forest in a straight line and he took it side to side to strong tile.
You're saying he ran from one side of Red Forest to the other and you didn't catch up?

You got to read between the lines on Scott. If he's saying the perk is a little too much, that's basically saying it's omega busted. He's been a staunch of defender of old broken survivor perks like DH, Iron Will, and old DS
Video #1 Summary: Scott clearly doesn't tunnel off of hook, gets hit by DS. Complains about old DS and how dumb it is.
Video #2 Summary: Iron Will is a strong perk, but not exceedingly overpowered. Could be toned down.
Video #3 Summary: DH for distance is broken and very in your face. SB is almost as good, but gives you the option of not investing time.
Bad bait, try again please.

I play on Xbox and I can consistently hit Hyperfocus skill checks and I even have nerve damage in my right hand.
I think you underestimate just how much 3% haste can do.
So you think the average player is knocking out 6 Hyperfocus skill checks.

I'd agree, but they changed it to be dependent on the 4K a couple patches ago.
Instead of having to play the pip system, you've just got to 4K.

The stacking is the issue tbh.
Both are fine sepperatly, they only get to silly numbers when put together
They will need to be carefull about making it not stack. With the unhook haste effect stacking haste happens fairly often and not making it stack will have a big rimple effect outside of MfT and hope. Unless they make the not stacking solely a part of MfT or Hope
It's also fair to point out this is looking at base 115 killer without power
The numbers vs a base blight in rush change to this while the rush is active
MfT: 5.2/5.08= 1.024 or 2.4% increase
Hope: 5.2/4.92= 1.057 or 5.7% increase
Hope+Mft: 5.2/4.8= 1.083 or 8.3% increase
And while rushes are obviously temporary and there are bumbs to take into account it's obviously a huge difference
Numbers vs base spirit phasewalk as bonus
MfT: 3.04/ 2.92= 1.041 or 4.1%
Hope: 3.04/2.76= 1.10 or 10%
Mft+Hope: 3.04/2.64= 1.15 or 15%
The main reason why i think MfT is overall fine. It's stronger vs weaker killers but falls off hard vs the stronger ones and people tend to want to bring perks that help against the strongest killers and not help them beat killers that already are easier to beat
I think it should just be Hope that doesn't stack, if they change anything.

That's not really correct, When it comes to reducing speed every percentage is worth more the more you have
MfT turns survivors into 4.12, Hope turns survivors into 4.28 and MfT+Hope turns them into 4.4
What you do divide the speed difference normally by the speed difference from the new speed to see how much extra time it gives you
The extra time MfT gives is 0.6/0.48= 1.25 or 25% extra time to catch up
The extra time Hope gives is 0.6/0.32= 1,875 or 87.5% extra time
The extra time MfT+Hope gives you is 0.6/0.2= 3 or 200% extra time
So MfT is giving a huuge boost to what hope normally can do. It is a big difference
I don't think MfT is superbroken but saying that in Hope+MfT hope is doing all the work just isn't correct
Without Hope, you're sitting at a measly 25%.
Clearly, Hope is the issue in this combo.
-
Wraith sort of lends himself to tunneling.
Easier to catch Survivors off-guard = easier tunneling = easier matches

Have they ever done that though? Wasn't Forever Freddy the same issue with stacking things and they just removed it rather then make it not stack. And there are other haste perks that you can stack with hope that don't create this problem. Isn't this really just a case that is caused by not having a duration. Hope was fine on its own because you can't stack it with other haste perks that don't have a duration until this patch.
Think so.
Legion and Wesker used to be affected by vault speed perks like Bamboozle and Fire Up.
Hope can be stacked with Blood Pact for an even greater Speed Boost of 114% m/s

Yeah, and all those videos show how strong that perk is also. Ppl don't run perks just bc they are "fun" they run them bc they are strong and help them win games. Nothing is fun about MfT, it's a haste perk that just makes you go faster. It doesn't offer anything interaction with the killer in a chase other than hold W to the next loop. You also were the one who said DH was a bad perk I believe when it was the number one used perk in the game for the same reason for MfT, because it's "fun".
I've said the new DH is bad.

Yeah, I don't understand why ppl try to say Hope is the problem when it's been in the game for so long and no one really complained about it before. I'm fine with hope, it's an end-game perk that offers good value to those who survived the match. Its MfT I have an issue with bc its free haste just for being hurt. Now a question if these ppl really think MfT doesn't give much value then way so many ppl are running it? It reminds me of DH before the hook requirement was added. So many said the same thing about DH and the fact it was a bad perk when it was the num one used perk even after its first nerf. We all know survivors aren't going to run a perk that doesn't give them a huge advantage in a chase. Also, how is MfT "fun" when all it does is make you faster? Just encourage holding W and really gives no interaction with the killer.
"Why are people running it"
Idk man, I've got no clue why a BRAND NEW PERK that has been hyped up by literally EVERY SINGLE content creator is being ran a lot.

Why can't you do the same in regard to MFT? If you remove MFT then there isn't a issue, and we know this by the fact that Hope has been in the game since release. It is only a problem now because of MFT. How is MFT not the issue here?
Because Hope is enabling MFT to boost the percentages in this niche scenario?
Hope is giving you a 7% Haste, MFT is only giving you 3%. Logically, you'd want to address the bigger number first.
Here's what you could do:
Hope can no longer stack with other perks that give Haste. There you go, you killed off the fun Endgame build without destroying either of the perks individually.
-
@Trollinmon said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469210#Comment_3469210
Doesn't that imply that Hope is the issue and not MFT then? I see it as the opposite since using MFT with Hope basically makes MFT a slightly worse additional Hope. In that case how is Hope doing the heavy lifting when they are roughly both giving the same % reduction? That's like saying the 90% damage reduction is doing all the work and not the flat 10% that makes you immune. The flat 10% is pushing it over the top and not the 90%.
Take away Hope and what do you have?
Hope's the issue in that scenario.

@Trollinmon said:

The reduction of the killers bonus movement speed based on percentage.
Hope reduces the killers bonus ms by 46.6% and when you add MFT you reduce it by another 37.5%. The more haste you get the more effective that haste becomes. If the killer is 110 then 5% haste is equal to 2.5% when stacked. The first 5% makes the killer take twice as long to catch up and the additional 2.5% would double it again.
So, once again, it's Hope that's doing the heavy lifting as MFT on it's own wouldn't really be doing much.
-
I've been done with it for close to a year now I think.

See, ultimately you are literally just telling "no it's different" without actually thinking the value of those perks, disregarding nurse "just because it's nurse" already tells you didn't even try to use your brain, when it's exactly same situation as those perks.
Thinking any decent survivors can't utilize 3% haste is ridiculous, all they need to do is just run and it will give them value literally no matter what, it's just a fact.
You just need to let killers break a pallet or two and it will immensely increase the chase duration, even 100 hour survivors can do that.
Clearly, you need to spend more time in Solo Q and less time insulting me if you think most Survivors are going to get massive value from this perk.
Even good Survivors that I've played against don't get huge value from this perk. Wanna know why? I don't chase them for the entire game.

Perks can still be broken, even if they aren't as good for the average player. Because if we are balancing for the average player, then Nurse is completely fine because she's definitely not overperforming at the average MMR level.
I do think Nurse is fine right now, honestly.
She's still undeniably OP in chase, but I think without her Range add-ons being busted, she's lost her ability to have good map pressure

Hope increases the effectiveness of MFT.
Hope is 7/15= 46.6%
MFT is 3/8=37.5%
Normal MFT is 3/15=20%
So when Hope is combined with MFT the effectiveness of MFT is nearly doubled in value
What are those numbers?

Eruption is also a win harder perk, it will not carry you unless you can consistently down survivors.
Just like any regression perks carried killers for winning, so does MFT, thinking like it will not is ridiculous.
Or we could even say nurse was fine because statistically majority did not managed to utilize it's full potential.
You did not need to consistently down Survivors in order to get massive value from Eruption, you just needed one or two to get 50+ seconds of time waste.
Thinking the average player can utilize 3% Haste is ridiculous, just like thinking the average player can knock out 6 Hyperfocus skill checks
Not even going to dignify the Nurse comment wirh a real response.

I do this MFT is carrying people to wins they don't deserve. Been using MFT + hope lately and ive gotten easy escapes which i probably didnt always deserve. Personally i'd just be happy if they take the haste stacking off. Thats my biggest issue.
Getting to endgame doesnt mean you should get easy escape as a survivor.
Hope is doing 99% of the heavy lifting in the end-game.
In almost every case, Hope would have won you the game.

Eruption was interesting. Call Or Brine was interesting. Why couldn't killers keep them? You see where this is going right
Not in the same way, imo.
Lethal is interesting. It's a good perk that the vast majority of players will never utilize to its full potential that also had calls for nerfs.
Hyperfocus is interesting. It's basically the same situation as MFT. Hypothetically, Hyperfocus is extremely OP. In practicality, not so much.
MFT is a win harder perk. It will not carry you to wins that you do not deserve. There are FEW perks left that can and I think that's probably for the best.

Do yourself a favor and walk away from the game. I pretty much have. It sucks, and it's not like I want to drop DbD, but survivor is just not worth playing right now. And it won't be worth playing until they make meaningful improvements to matchmaking. They've detuned SBMM so much that match outcomes are pretty much set in the lobby based on whoever it put in there. Your play on survivor does not matter, nor does your loadout. The only thing that determines outcomes is whether SBMM tried to make a good match or whether it threw 4 random players together because queues exceeded 0.2 seconds.
Solo survivor is a profoundly unrewarding game mode. The devs don't care if someone is a vet and wants to have a good experience with similarly skilled players. They want you to carry someone who is way out of their depth, and you have no say in the matter unless you make a 4 man SWF.
The only way to win is to not play. I've been having a blast with Street Fighter. I look at my hours played in the last 2 weeks for DbD and it makes me sad. I used to play 25 hrs a week. SBMM used to actually be *good*. That's the joke of all this.
I suppose I just recognize I'm not as good a Survivor as I am Killer and I just cannot let that go.

If there was a tangible reward besides the badge itself, I just know some poor soul would spend thousands of hours just because it's content they feel the need to earn. Or they'll just feel bad that there's content they'll never feasibly earn, being forced to pick and choose just a few characters.
