...i feel that you might be correct.
In my defense, I just woke up?

Depends.
2K against the average SWF for me is a loss.
A 2K against a comp team? That's a win.
2K against a good SWF with 9 hooks? Draw, I still expect better from myself.

Fair, personally I just don't like him. Based on the last post I just saw in reply (I wish the ignore would hide those also) he must be some kind of comp player who takes this game super seriously. I really don't like or get along with anyone who takes a game seriously. Reason why I don't touch LoL or any other super comparative game. I plays games for fun and watching my footage or whatever doesn't sound fun to me, it sounds like a job. Anyway it's whatever I won't make anymore comments about the dude after this post just bc o don't want to interact with him anymore.
Hmmmm.
Do I take the game seriously? Yes. Like a job? Not really no.
I find pubs to be boring and too easy in 99.99% of cases. At the risk of sounding even more arrogant, I also feel bad because the Survivors I match against almost never have a chance.
I would say I simply enjoy competition and that I seek it out, if that's in pubs, so be it. If it's in comp, so be it.
Ultimately though, it seems like everything you've said about me is false.

Pre requisite injured and not exuasted prettty easy
It let's you get to loops easier makes holding w more effective hurts about 70% of killers powers
And it can help bad players adding 12.5s is 10% of a gen it dosent help them it helps everyone else
I didn't actually menrion not being Exhausted, thank you for pointing that out.
It does technically help you GET to loops easier, but the 3% is really going to come into play there often.
Bad players (average players) go down in 20 seconds anyway. They aren't going to get 12.5 out of it. You're looking at the maximum possible values, which I get, but that's a worst case scenario.

Yes, now play as if 80% of the SWFs are not recognizable 😂
All the time the same argument here, you guys should grow up, really.
Pity Cruiser
City Bruiser
Cuty proser
Duty Filler
"they are not a SWF, you have no proof about it"
So you're admitting that you're just playing it off of feelings.
You actually have zero clue.
Anyways, I am once again asking for gameplay so that we can try to help out with tips.

Nope. I'm tunnelling because I play to win. Telling me not to use the best strategy just because I'm winning is like telling players in other games to go easier on their opponents because the enemy team is getting stomped. In games like CSGO, LoL, and Dota, the enemy team will NEVER go easy on you if you are getting crushed. They will just keep pushing their advantage to maximize their odds of winning. It's not toxic in the slightest. It's just playing to win.
The main reason to tunnel a survivor out as early as possible is uncertainty and maximizing odds of winning. Say you have 2 hooks on a survivor and 1 gen is done, it's completely possible that you never see or catch that survivor again until 1 gen. Against coordinated swfs, this is a notable risk since they often split themselves up to hide survivors on death hook and and force the killer to chase survivors that haven't been hooked yet. A killer wouldn't know whether they were playing against a swf or not, so the only way to minimize that risk to do it always. Even against solos, it isn't a certainty that you will catch or find that survivor again, especially on large and strong maps. The play that maximizes odds of winning is tunelling them out at the first opportunity. Also, waiting longer to tunnel survivors out defeats the purpose of tunnelling. The point of killing a survivor early is reducing their gen and healing speeds. The longer you wait to tunnel, the less value you get from tunnelling.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471751#Comment_3471751
They mention as being a potentially effective or viable strategy but they've never outright mentioned how effective it was. It was more so them acknowledging as a strategy but not commenting on its strength.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471770#Comment_3471770
"The problem isn't for those strategies to exist, is that any killer can do them fairly well that they can be super strong against a lot of survivor teams. (not just baby survivors). Imagine if everyone who picked up Nurse or Blight could play them half-decent from the get go."
I don't see why tunnelling being easily accesible is a problem. I also disagree with your argument since tunnelling effectively is closely related to a killer's chasing skills. For example, tunnelling is easy for anyone to do but if a unskilled killer tried to tunnel a survivor much better than them, they would get looped for multiple gens.
"If more killers played in this way every game, then those strategies would be addressed a lot sooner."
Tunnelling is one of the most prevalent strategies in the game.
"I don't think survivors want to remove the effectiveness of those strategies, as people who are not heavily biased know that against strong survivors you need something other than Nurse/Blight/Spirit, but them having no difficulty to do makes them accessible to every skill level and tunneling/camping are a lot more intuitive for players than looping is."
Fairly sure most survivors would want tunnelling completely killed off if possible. Like, do you see any other comment in this thread from a survivor supporting tunnelling?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471865#Comment_3471865
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3472182#Comment_3472182
There's actually heavy hyprocrisy in your comments. You mention that tunnelling is a "legitimate strategy" but go on to say tunnelling results in the killer in the killer being boosted in MMR. Why would I be boosted if I was using a legitimate strategy? The reality is that you don't see it as a legitimate strategy. If you really saw it that way, you would treat it like any other skill or strategy and see it as a normal skill in the killer skill set. Think of it this way, looping is a legitimate strategy. Now replace everything you said about tunnelling with looping and it's clear that you don't view tunnelling as a legitimate strategy.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471981#Comment_3471981
I've never hated or blamed survivors for running strong strategies and perks like gen rushing, pre-nerf Dead Hard, and pre-nerf DS. I've always blamed the dev for making them strong and not fixing it. It's the same argument I'm making here. Killers shouldn't be hated for tunnelling since they are just playing optimally. It's the dev's fault for making it strong in the first place. If you've ever played any other competitive game, like LoL and Dota, you would think the same way. You don't blame a person for picking a strong Champion/Hero. You blame the devs for making it strong and ask them to fix it.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3472045#Comment_3472045
You're missing the point here. As you've said, it is difficult to further disincentive tunnelling. What they need to do is incentivize not camping, e.g. giving bonuses to a killer for chasing a different survivor, something like Grim Embrace. This brings the power level of not tunnelling closer to tunnelling and makes it less necessary for killers.
Fantastic, you want to win.
So do I. Do I have to tunnel and camp to win? No, I do not. Do I do it anyway because it's easy? Yes. Do I recognize that makes me an #########? Yup.
You cannot give bonuses to not tunneling. That's been tried, it doesn't work. Eruption, PR, CoB + Overcharge. 4 exceedingly strong regression perks.
Guess what, still massive amounts of tunneling. I genuinely thought it'd reduce it at the time. I was wrong.
We've tried the carrot, I'm interested to try the stick.

Let me put it this way and explain why I like SM.
1) Intel is awsome and fun, its cool to look at a lil phone and track people
2) Its laid back gameplay she can help in loops and defend gens
3) Predator type claw
4) I can see some cool cosmetics for her
That being said I dont have a problem with chasing (no Im not relying on easy chases) and I dont have a problem with hardcore defending gens.
She checks of everything that I like, I have played other killers but guess what, they either lack gen defense or chase power. Console is limited to some of the other killers like Nurse, Blight, Trickster, Huntress, Oni, etc.
But when getting painted as "3 gen maniac that likes to sit in a game for 40 million days" its annoying and obnoxious considering that there are counters by just splitting up and doing gens.
I rest my case, berate me all you want for liking SM idc
There's a difference between liking a Killer and thinking their design is healthy.
I LIKE Legion. I do not think their design is healthy.

No ones Strawmanning anything, just say it clear and plain. You don't like SM and you want her out of the game just like everyone else lol
I want her current, extremely problematic and weak, design out of the game. Don't you?
Freddy was actually pretty strong for quite a while there, not sure if you remember.

So make her bottom tier like Freddy.....great Ill start finding a new killer main then
You know precisely what I meant. Do not try to strawman, please.
Freddy received a total rework. SM should receive the same, her current design is untenable.
She's essentially Schrodinger's Killer. She's both extremely strong and extremely weak. You don't know which you'll get until you load in.

Ok cool, you will all complain, nerf her into the ground where she will never be played again. Great job, not everyone plays the same
I'd rather rework her into a more functional design.
If you buff anything in her current kit, her 3-gen gets stronger.
Her current design HAS to go. She needs a Freddy-style rework.

I've seen a singular non-hostage taker DM.
She was just a worse Knight.
Find Survivor, chase Survivor, drop Drone at loop, Survivor must leave loop, repeat. That's literally the same gameplay loop as Knight except you can't long-range Snipe people with Guards with Call To Arms AND drones are vastly inferior to Guards in chase

I've worked a lot of jobs where someone with a lot of clout will demand or push for something to be done and get their way even though everyone below them knows it's really stupid and a complete waste of time. Once it's done, you slowly go back to how you were doing it before, but you still have to keep up the pretense of the new thing that person demanded. Pretty sure that's what happened here with Hillbilly.
Considering that overheat is essentially a non-factor at this point, I am inclined to agree with that assessment.

It wasnt horrendous......
Singularity is boring to play because of how easy his power is negated by EMP and his power doesnt really give a high reward. IMO
It was pretty bad.
The community reaction is telling. She's legitimately more hated than ANY other Killer in history and I can't even say it's unjustjfied.
-
I quite enjoy playing AS Knight, but his gameplay against and Borgo are definitely misses.
The entire DM Chapter (besides the Survivors) is just irredeemable garbage, imo.
End Transmission is actually fire tho. Larry is strong, Gabriel is cool and the map is good.

Not really for me.
Still trying my best to win.

Do you have any gameplay that we can view?

You destroyed them with politeness and facts. I admire you for that.
I don't know about that.
I just copy and paste my original response to being called a Survivor main whenever people try to "call me out" for my "obvious bias".
My opinions lean towards the average players balance. I will talk about "high mmr" (which doesn't exist in any sort of consistency with how the matchmaker is set up) issues on occasion, but I don't consider them as important as the average player experience.
The average Survivor experience is thus: You have to hope the Killer plays nicely, else you'll end up trapped in a miserable, unwinnable game or you'll be out of the game so fast it wasn't worth the time spent in queue. Couple this with some genuinely unfun and problematic Killer designs (SM, Knight etc etc) and you have a profoundly unpleasant experience that is beholden on practically everyone except the player.
The average Killer experience simply isn't that bad and is, usually, within your control as a player. I see the Average Killer as a generally acceptable role. It needs some issues addressed and iron'd out, but for the most part, it's in a good spot.

Also, are you suggesting that a 2K, 2E is unreasonable to want?

Hello! I'm a survivor/killer main that has been playing this game for a very long time! I love weird perks that can actually work well! Here's my take on the upcoming perk changes:
~~~~~
Coup de Grâce: Amazing buff. As someone who has been using it occasionally since release, I'm afraid it might be TOO amazing of a buff with certain killers (ex: Legion). We'll see.
Claustrophobia: I can see this becoming very, very annoying in some scenarios. It seems strong on paper, but we'll see.
Hangman’s Trick: The devs finally listened. They nerfed the Pig*
Territorial Imperative: Still a bad perk, but objectively better than before.
Remember Me: Oh, we're gonna see more endgame builds now, aren't we?
Hex: Crowd Control: I hate (playing with) hexes. This change is definitely good though, this perk has been a disappointment since release. I look forward to seeing it in my survivor games!
Trail of Torment: Bootleg Surveillance/Insidious got buffed! Hooray! Nice to see a fun perk get a buff!
Prove Thyself: Big nerf, still a great perk though.
Blast Mine: I love kicking gens! 💥ooch💥ouch💥owwie
Wiretap: I love kicking gens! (Alert 0.5)
Saboteur: Oh boy, this is gonna do wonders for my Saboteur, Breakout build! (i cannot express my excitement effectively enough)
Breakout: Oh boy, this is gonna do wonders for my Saboteur, Breakout build! (i cannot express my excitement effectively enough)(1)
Clairvoyance: Here, you can witness a perk rising from "Not Great" to "Probably Gonna Get a Cult Following" status!
Buckle Up: Seems good now? Consistent endurance on downed -> injured heal is going to be game changing in the right circumstances.
Smash Hit: I like it a lot! It's the only exhaustion perk that uses a resource on the map, and not only that, but you have to stun the killer. This makes it a particularly good exhaustion perk if you like to combine exhaustion perks, and I would like to see similar changes to Overcome in the future!
Spine Chill: Makes sense. This doesn't seem to change gameplay, yeah? in fact, doesn't it make the perk's information clearer? Correct me if I'm wrong
~~~~~
Hope you enjoyed reading! Feel free to share your thoughts :3
I like the Coup change.
Not sure about Cruel Limits.
Hangman's Trick is unironically worse which is funny.
Territorial Imperative is, like you said, still bad but less bad.
Remember Me is better, but still inferior to No Way Out imo.
Crowd Control is pretty nutty. If you get good totem luck than you are gonna be EATING through map resources.
Trail of Torment is alright, definitely better than before.
Prove Thyself nerf is really odd. It already wasn't a good perk in 99% of circumstances, so they nerfed the efficiency bonus. However, they also decided to nerf the BP bonus because....idk, get ######### ig?
Blast Mine and Wiretap are just good solid buffs.
Sabo might be okay. Probably still not gonna be super good, but maybe that's for the best.
Breakout seems alright. Better than before.
Clairvoyance is alright. Solid, nothing crazy.
Buckle Up is no longer straight up garbage. It's situationally good.
Smash Hit is still bad, but less bad. I'd like to see Head On get a similar change, maybe not 20 seconds though.
Spine Chill's death was foretold many a moon ago. Only now is it here.
-
I don't know how it'll play. I've definitely been wrong about Killers before, in my defense, Blight was awful on PTB.
That being said, my first impressions are that this is...not good.

I'm not surprised the dude will defend anything that is "fun" for survivors but unfun for killers. He defended DH a lot before it's last nerf. Honestly I don't think I seen one comment from him defending a killer perk. He says he unbiased but honestly I just think he a survivor main.
Personally I don't care for him at all and have him on Ignore so I don't see his posts all the time.
@LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3472337#Comment_3472337
Most of his posts are just subtly calling killer players bad lol. I noticed that. Any killer player that has a legitimate gripe about something in this game just needs to get good, it's a skill issue
POV: You disagree with me, ergo, I must be a Survivor main. Likewise, blocking people you disagree with instead of considering their points is a great way to form an echo chamber.
However, I'll humor the both of you.
The reason I am normally fine with Survivor things is because I don't find them to be issues. I watch footage, I play games, I speak with other experienced players. The nature of DBD is that, generally, things that Survivors do can be countered via skill by Killers. As Survivor, you are often limited by your teammates and the attitude of the Killer you play against. You are beholden to no one except yourself as Killer, and the mighty RNGesus.
Please note, I said that medium-old DH could be countered and that I had no issues with it in my matches. People argued it was completely uncounterable and it wasn't. I also protested the PTB changes, which I still think were bad. I do NOT like the idea of completely killing perks. It shouldn't have happened to DS, DH, SC or to perks like CoB or Overcharge.
Anyways, here's some threads that I've made recently talking about Killer issues.
@Pulsar said:
There are a lot of issues with Larry right now, most of which stem from EMP's being far too good.
I'm considering making a post about some of my ideas on that, but I feel that the topic has been done to death.
That being said, another issue I've found with him is his rather lackluster Deviousness point gains. Even after a full game, I'm barely getting half a bar. He either needs more Score Events or he needs his existing one's buffed significantly.
@Pulsar said:
My vote is yes.
The perk only affects a specific subset of players (those on Console) and it affects them to the point where it is still impossible to hook people if they have it on certain maps.
It's pretty much the only perk that I am genuinely upset at seeing in my matches.
Thoughts?
@Pulsar said:
They definitely caught me off guard with that one lol. From my estimation, that's about a 20 second gen. Probably the fastest I've seen one pop in a bit. They definitely came to play, but I don't think the outcome of the match is super important.
Just a fun little post that I wanted to share :)
And as for my own personal stats, I've competed in various smaller tournaments. I was in Tofu's scrim nights, I've competed in the Community Cups and I've played against Team Misery.
These are my stats on my main account. I think I've probably got another 300-400 hours elsewhere.
A Feast For The Entity is how many Kills I've achieved. 13K puts me at about 30th on Xbox.
Made It Out Alive is how many escapes I have. 1600 escapes puts me well below 1500th place.
Unfortunately, the argument that I'm a Survivor main in disguise simply isn't true. I understand that arguing points can be difficult and it's easier to resort to ad hominem attacks, but I expect a little better.

Honestly of all people I didn't expect you to defend mft
Hyeprfocus needs either an entire build to work or rng and only on gens
mft works by its self synergies with and at any time injured
MFT is exceptionally good, but it has prerequisites.
You need to be injured.
You need to be at a long loop.
It will not benefit players that aren't good.
You cannot be playing against certain Killers.
-
Because it's not a large issue.
MAYBE you could remove the Endurance effect.
-
It's likely not an issue, the vast majority of players get no value from it. I wouldn't mind if the Endurance was gone though.
Unlike 3-genning Dull Merchants.

Not every killer did or does that, just like not every swf is a rpd boil over sabo squad.
To quote you directly, "Until gen regression is meaningful"
Gen regression was meaningful. It was the strongest it has EVER been. Killer got basekit buffs across the board. DH and DS got obliterated.
And yet, Killers still tunneled. Most Killers don't need to tunnel in their games, it's just easy and there's no downside.
-
A lot of times, it really is.
Like, a lot of threads boil down to bad matchmaking. These players are being put against people way better than themselves and they stand no chance.
Is that a skill issue? Yes. Is that their fault? No.
-
@Barbarossa2020 said:
Until gen regression is meaningful then tunneling will be the best gen regression.
Hahaha hahaha
Eruption, CoB, Overcharge and PR was meta. Guess what? Killers still camped and tunneled with the most oppressive and objectively killer-sided meta we've ever had.
Until tunneling is no longer the easiest and most effective strategy, Killers will still use it.

You will not always get skillchecks. However, you will eventually get injured.
Hyperfocus, is inconsistent because of skillchecks and will always be like that.
Made For This, will always get value even at its worst it just helps you run faster and is consistently good. Sometimes, it can allow you to tank hits that would lose you the game.
You can run a toolbox with Hyperfocus, thereby guaranteeing skill checks.
MFT is exactly the same as Hyperfocus. It's a perk that seems exceptionally good, and is, but only in the right hands in the right scenarios against the right Killers.
-
More like Hyperfocus.
Ahhhhh, the horror, 30 second Hyperfocus gens! But wait, nobody uses that perk now.

Ok, but now it's no longer the killer's fault for tunnelling since it's the best play. It's BHVR's fault for making it the best strategy. BHVR has to add incentives to not tunnel if they want killers not to.
This is a ######### argument.
Everyone has known that tunneling is the best strategy for YEARS. Everyone has also known that it can be exceedingly unfun.
All you're trying to do is take the blame off of the Killer and say, "See, they had no choice!". If you're gonna play like an ass and tunnel at 5 gens, own it.

Blight's got C33 and Alc Ring. Spirit has Amulet and MDR.

I understand that, but surv can also simply just push out the gens, if maybe 1 surv on each gen could help or everyone stack on one of the gens. Sorry if you dont get comprehensive teammates and you lose to a SM playing in that scummy way.
But again if you play into a 3 gen and the SM sees it and plays into your mistakes she deserves it.
Extremely good teams CAN beat a Dull Merchant. It will also take them 45 minutes and no decent team will wait that long. They'll either kill themselves on hook or DC. Their penalty will be less time than the match.
If you can't see that as a design issue, I worry for you.

You paint her as a 3-gen queen plain and simple.
She can be effective at loops and using info from afar. Granted, yes, she is really good at defending gens that are CLOSE to eachother because surv arent paying attention to what gens they are doing. Hence why Deja Vu got its lil buff.
She can literally pick 3 gens at the start of the game and hold them forever.

2 things.
1) DS used to always be 3 seconds way way back in the day, and it was seen as super OP even then. The only reason it was buffed to 5 seconds, was because enduring worked on it. So that 3 second stun become 1.5 seconds, and it actually WAS useless in that case. So they buffed it to 5 seconds, and said that when they reworked enduring to only work on pallets, they would reduce DS back to 3 seconds. Well, they reworked enduring, but never held up that end of the bargain to change DS back. So now it is back to 3 seconds as it originally was.
2) a 3 second stun is quite long and the perk is far from useless. 3 seconds gets you 12 meters of distance, which buys you ~12 seconds of distance on the killer. If you can't get to a pallet or window, or some structure to defend yourself in 12 seconds you are doing something wrong. And if you are going to say "but nurse" i'm going to stop you right there. Nurse should never be used as a point when it comes to balancing anything other than herself. We shouldn't be buffing or nerfing anything just because she exists.
DS was 3 seconds when there were actually infinites. It was also 3 seconds when it was instant on the Obsession and 33% on regular Survivors and had no other limitations.
The 3 second stun is actually more like 2 seconds due to the animation. Maps have deadzones and you often don't get to pick where you're hooked.
It should be 5 seconds.

It's clear the difference it makes when you play against people who don't make mistakes that's all.
As many have said already it's dependant on what killer you use. Some killers I'm not much good to be honest others I am. I don't use s -tier killers hardly ever though. I don't enjoy them as much as it often feels cheap.
The game can hardly be balanced around poor players can it. Oh wait!
Everyone makes mistakes I'm afraid.

Maybe, just maybe you see a lot of complaints from killers because the game is insanely bad for killers right now and not in the least bit balanced? Just a thought.
It's not lol.

Don't listen to others that are either trolling or don't play against high mmr. it's almost as if maps have perfect balance already. No god pallets and strong tiles linkable already. Nevermind nutty gen speeds with poor slowdown perks for killer. The healing nerf is plain negated by a strong organised team. Then more insult to injury with MFT.
Just imagine right if when you miss a survivor with a hit you get a speed boost. I wonder how fair that would feel to them then.
This isn't really an us vs them thing for me as I do play both sides. I never really used DH as I found it unfair as killer and I won't use MFT either.
Well I was wondering when we would get the, "I'm clearly high mmr and you aren't, so I win" and honestly it took a lot longer than I thought, I'm impressed.

Decent list but MFT isn't worse than old DH.
That's just recency bias.
