This thread is literally Us. vs. Them.

The fact is - it's generally accepted by the community all around for survivors to use what they want, play how they want, do all the stuff they can to complete their objective. That energy does not exist for killers. This thread is proof. Sadako being basically rolled back is proof. There are many instances of proof of this. There is no version of this where you're even remotely capable of proving otherwise. Period.

I think you've become too biased and I urge you to take a step back. Your vision is clouded by hatred for the other side and it shows.

There is no Survivor conspiracy against you or Killers. Killers have been buffed across the board since I started playing so many years ago. There is no such energy, you constantly hear complaints about perks, strategies, button presses etc etc.

Sadako being rolled back happened despite feedback that she was GOOD. All the feedback here and on Reddit was positive. Every content creator had positive feedback. The Devs do what they want.

Survivors: Why do I have to run a perk to counter this killer thing (there's many examples)?

Also survivors: Isn't there a perk to counter survivors doing more than one gen at once?

Deadlock doesn't do anything but block the gen for a moment. It does nothing other than that.

In a game decided by seconds, Deadlock certainly matters.

Likewise, you said, "To punish a killer for tunneling would be like punishing survivors for doing too many gens at once," which I found curious since that already exists in Deadlock and it doesn't even punish multiple gen pops or slamming the objective. It actually punishes you for doing it at all, which is curiously similar to another perk from the past.

why would a big content creator do a vib on such a game breaking bug. knowing half the players will probably do it?

Ideally, so people abuse it and thereby garner more attention to it getting it fixed faster.

    Also, cuz it's kinda cool.

  • Difficult to say without actually seeing the changes.

  • Us vs Them isn't a good look anymore; it's not 2017 and you're not a poor Killer main victim.

Both sides are horrible to each other at times. This creates a vicious cycle where one side takes out their frustrations on a completely uninvolved player(s), which then causes those players to do the same.

Instead of blaming only Survivors, it would be more wise to call out all toxic behavior.

What you're suggesting, punishing a killer for tunneling, is ridiculous. You have to make it less lucrative to do so. So, perhaps, for example, instead of whining about a new perk combo that rewards NOT tunneling, just learn counterplay and accept that it's okay for a combo to be strong. That type of thing.

To punish a killer for tunneling would be like punishing survivors for doing too many gens at once.

You guys need way too much handholding. Get good.

    Isn't that called Deadlock lol

So the killer is extremely opressive if survivors dont play the killer specific side objective?

    Oh no, how unfair!

I was hoping you'd respond. I had kinda figured based on your other responses about what you'd type.

A side objective that relies on your teammates. How wonderful! Surely, surely there's no issues with communicating and teammates in DBD, that'd be just awful.

Surely, your teammates can be relied on. Surely.

Likewise, that means you have hmmmm, approximately zero influence on your own chase with him. Unless of course, you're wasting time setting up turrets yourself, which you can't really afford to do in this meta. You are relying on others to make the chase tolerable. His Tail Attack IS oppressive, it makes all loops extremely unsafe.

    Pretending otherwise is simply wrong.

  • I have seen three threads stating that survivors hate Billy now and approximately zero threads about hating Billy. Curious.

He does need his cooldown addons adjusted. It is FAR too strong for zoning. That's about all I'd change at the moment.

I do like playing against Billy, but it does get tiring. It's like Wesker. Do I like playing against Wesker? Yes, he's well-designed and fun. Do I like versing him 24/7? No, not really.

    Same with Billy.

Let me give a spoiler: like 40%+ of all Killers nowdays have press M2 for you to die on loop. SM is no different. She isn't special in this regard. And of course when someone likes a character or power or they don't mind it, it means they are brainded zombie fanatic sure sure. Jesus.

It's more that they can't seem to accept ANY criticism of the character.

That is correct. I think place power at loop and die characters are bad and poor design.

What makes SM unique is her inability to do anything else except hold gens. Knight at least has some ability to snipe with Guards, but he's got the same issues really.

Skull Merchant has a MASSIVE amount of issues. She is still very good at holding multiple gens, though now she can't stall out the game infinitely.

Her power at loops is really really poorly designed. Haste, Undetectable, Free Tracking etc etc. It's clear that they had absolutely zero idea what to do with her and started slapping random status effects on her in hopes she'd be okay. She's not. She needs an entire power rework.

You cannot cleanse it but you can put a turret up and disable that power for that chase. Even if the alien hits it the spare time from the cooldown will give you the same distance as a nemi whip when it infects you.

Also for someone who has an understanding of comp and high level play dbd (which isnt much its just people that are not incredibly bad) you underestimate slinger a lot, he is prob the best ranged killer (unless you count artist as ranged) in the game, and he can end a chase 10 times faster than a xeno can wish to achieve.

I am not so much underestimating Slinger as you are underestimating Xeno.

Slinger is very good at getting injures, which is valuable. He's not especially good at getting downs. Any place that Slinger gets a down, Xeno does too, besides open field shots which, let's be honest, are very rare.

Slinger would be better, if he had mobility or stealth. Xeno has both, plus an oppressive chase power.

Not even close, nemsis whip is far more dangerous than xenos tail, and survivors cant take it away unlike xenos tail. And slinger, mate slinger outclasses both xeno and nemesis in time to down every day of the week. You do not need mobility as slinger if you are ending chases in less than 30 seconds, something xeno should not be able to do if her opponents have more than 40 hours of playtime.

Xenos tail is far more malleable than Nemi's Whip. You can't crouch tech it nor can you cleanse it and get a 3rd health state. The point about Nemesis is just massive copium.

The point about DS is also pretty bad. Their powers function similarly, except DS has a wind-up and can be dodged reliably, unlike Xeno who can still drag his Tail if you dodge. Same with Nemi. He also has zero mobility and extremely poor map pressure.

Both of those Killers are much worse than Xeno.

  • @Xernoton said:

30 minutes? How? I can't imagine how she would have held 3 gens for 25 minutes now. I understand not liking Skull Merchant but your story doesn't add up.

Overcharge, harder skill check drones and Oppression?

    Could be Ruin as well.

  • I don't know about the specific points; a lot of them seem wrong but the overarching idea of Survivor being unfun does seem to ring true with a hefty portion of the playerbase.

Idk I dropped xeno some time ago, as there is no reason to play her when nemesis and slinger exist, hope the devs can make her tail not horrible but I know wont happen so ill stick to slinger.

Those two Killers are a straight downgrade from Xeno, but if you like them better, that's totally fine.

  • @squbax said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3641895#Comment_3641895

I do not think most survivors would like xenos tail to be fixed, since it would be more "unfun"

Maybe not, but we can address that after it's working properly.

It's already unpleasant now, so it may as well function as intended if it's gonna be ass to play against

  • @Zenislev said:

Remember, if killers have anything at all that gives them any sort of edge, it's bad and "unhealthy" and "not interactive" and it needs to be nerfed to the ground. The original cooldown on the tail was fine, but survivors didn't like it because it meant that they had to actually play carefully, so now here we are. Of course xeno needs a buff, most killers do, but they're not going to get one.

You mean...the tail attack where Xeno lost no distance for spamming it?

    Ah, of course.

How about this? We fix the hitbox bug with Xeno's Tail Attack that I don't think was ever fixed; then we re-evaluate. He is extremely oppressive in chase when he's in Runner Mode. He has good map pressure and map traversal. He really doesn't need anything right now, barring bug fixes of course.

I JUST HAD IT. I had the match, where i felt like i did everything right, outside of 1 or 2 micro mistakes, that made it so i ended the game with 3 hooks and a 4 escape and they weren't even a SWF, so its not "just coms" that does this, and it happened right after a match where i felt i played horribly, and the survivors barely finished 3 gens before i killed 3 and 1 got hatch.

I'm going to go over these videos now, and annotate them with what i was thinking at the time, and what i feel happened, and show you the difference, people need to see the difference between these "normal" survivors, and these teams that play really well, and hopefully this will help people understand that there are 2 different games being played here. I'll make a new thread for it.

Because when i post on these forums talking about how there are only 2 viable killers, you'll see exactly why in this video. Because i made every correct decision given the information i had, and any other decision i would have made would have led to the exact same outcome. With only a single mistake, which, by the time that happened the survivors already basically won anyway. And on top of that this wasn't even a full SWF, potentially a pair, but the point stands that you don't need a SWF to do what you will see in these videos.

Hopefully i can post later tonight, but please look out for the thread.

EDIT: Playing back the footage, and i still believe i made 90-95% correct decisions. And against a team of "normal" survivors this match would have been a complete stomp for me like the previous match i played. This is going to be good.

    I mean, that's normal?

It really doesn't matter the amount of mistakes so much as what mistake it was and when. Sometimes, the mistake is out of your control, like running a perk like BBQ against 4 Distortions.

I shall look out for the thread later.

Yeah, i mentioned that in one of my other posts. But Matchmaking is wild, i can have 1 game where i go against a sweat squad, full meta perks, full loadout, sending me to garden of joy and i get 1 hook. But then my next match is a 5 gen stomp because the survivors just refuse to do gens for some reason.

Yeahhhh, that's just the way it goes, unfortunately.

I would say this person is digging too deep. But it is true, if you watch someone like tru3ta1ent (yes i know he complains a lot) there really is something to the fact that the survivors he plays against are usually really good. Then when you watch someone like scott jund, he can have the first chase go poorly, but doesn't lose 3 gens somehow.

You see what i'm getting at? Its not some deep conspiracy, but something is there with matchmaking.

It's pretty well known that Tru3 sweats a lot and takes the game very seriously.

Scott doesn't do that, hence his MMR probably isn't as high. He also plays in a different region at a different time.

  • @WaveyTrey said:

It’s a lot to read, but here is my take…

You’re beginning to catch on to something... The only reason those streamer killers win so much without using slowdowns and tunnel/proxy camp is because…

A.) They lower their MMR when they aren’t streaming. So they match with players less experienced…

B.) They have the ability to matchmake with who they want somehow. They’ll add a few random matchmake. Then if someone truly competitive enters they dodge the lobbies. As they’ll get demolished on live. You’ll see in their lobbies the players will say “I was X survivor”.

Remember, they’re sponsoring/advertising the game. So you think that the steamers wouldn’t get any perks, or privileges from doing that?

I began to think this only because I’ve watched them play. Yes. I’m not a top tier player. With just over 2k hours. The truth being I learned A LOT just from watching the “best” players like Tru3 and Tofu; However, as I began to watch them CLOSELY…

The way that survivors play against them was never my experience after 2k hours. Against these streamer killers the survivors often make the dumbest plays. They don’t spin, or do anything to make the attacks miss. Survivors run in straight lines, not from pallet to pallet. They don’t abuse second chance perks. They fail the flashlight even when it was easy.

I’ve also seen all these big streamers chase a single survivor for over a minute many times. Whenever they did not a single generator would pop. They also take their sweet time to pickup, and hook. All while explaining something to the viewers.

If their hours and their MMR is as high as they claim… Situations like that shouldn’t happen so often... Everything the players do should be executed perfectly. A single mess up would cost the match. After 2k if I fail to execute, or did something haphazardly at least 3 survivors will escape.

Every time I chase a single survivor the rest will immediately double up on heals or gens. I repeat, only after 2k hours. The survivors are often well coordinated, and prepared. With or without comms. So I can only imagine 4k, 6k, 8k, 10k hours!!

I realized the best strategy is finding who is the weakest runner, and eliminating that player immediately before 3 generators are done. Even if it means tunneling them out. Once the players are reduced to 3 I don’t have to do anything “dirty” anymore.

Why? If 2 gens remain and there are 4 survivors alive I lose. Almost 100% of the time.

So I ask you all to watch them CLOSELY. There’s a reason viewers scream “PAID ACTORS!!”. It’s because sometimes it’s true!

    Any proof of your conspiracy?

  • @Steakdabait said:

You learn the best from failure if you can prevent yourself from getting frustrated. That is something you are just gonna have to accept.

But if you wanna reduce the annoying part of learning billy just don't try to play for clip farming. Really all you need to do to get results on billy is smart zoning and be able to perform minor curves against survivors trying to to use a tile to prevent a backsaw. long juicy curves are very rarely the correct move and going for them all the time will lose you games.

What tiles should I be able to curve around?

  • @squbax said:

Not really most of the replies are along the lines of "you are just not a good player", "good killers are not bothered by it" and completely disregard the other persons view in the matter.

An example of this also happens in each SM threat that you comment on, even tho I agree with you and I am a profound SM hater, you cannot be bothered to read or even discuss the arguments of SM mains and just disregard everything they say without adressing their points (even if they are wrong which most of the time they are)

So to that end I say the same to you, I as someone who has tried to learn multiple killers have never had an issue with matchmaking while learning and anyone who has it just needs to improve their skills and accept that while learning you will struggle, its a common thing in the process of learning and better players get unphased by it so you have no excuse.

I mean, nothing you've said is incorrect.

Like I said, I'm merely after details. Should I be trying to curve? Should I not be? Should I be going for back revs and zoning? What's the best way to practice? Guides? Good players? Anyone sharing the experience of new-old Killer MMR?

Also, I usually don't argue with DM mains because they generally tend to be the most fanatical, for lack of a better term. There's not so much a point to it. I also don't think I call players bad. Inexperienced? Yes, I've said that but I very rarely straight-up call someone bad. And a lot of the time the argument does boil down to that, like with the flashlight posts. It's just Inexperience, not being bad.

  • @squbax said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/404009/how-are-you-supposed-to-learn-new-killers

You learn by trial and error, you will get stomped while learning, its normal, get over it and start doing so. Also, dont you reply to almost every killer complain with a more elaborate way of just "get good"?( At least in ftp+bu discussions)Take your own advise and get better at billy.

If by more elaborate you mean saying what I would do and trying to help, then yes.

You could break any skill issue down into "git gud". The getting good part is the thing I'm after, which does not feel incentivized due to poor matchmaking; which is again, something I've harped on forever.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3640144#Comment_3640144

The point is to make sure the killer KNOWS the survivor is on time out. If they didn't have a timeout, then they could just immediately hop back on a gen. And the game is flat out simply not balanced right now for 4 survivors being in the match. That is why tunneling is so strong and also necessary.

I am aware of the balancing implications as to why it's there.

I just don't believe having a mandatory timeout corner timer is a good design. It's better than what we have now, I just think maybe it can be improved.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/404034/is-tunneling-killing-the-game

Not exactly. The problem is not that "people tunnel" the problem is that tunneling is the most effective way to win the game. You are putting the blame on the wrong people. You need to blame the developers, not the players using the strategy. The problem is the game is balanced around kills. So, the best way to win is to kill a survivor as fast as possible because the best slowdown is having less survivors in the game.

The reason for this is simple, the game with 4 survivors is simply too fast. If 4 survivors are alive it is impossible for a killer to keep up on gens when against a decent team. Watch any comp matches and you'll see that the strategy is to pick a survivor and hard tunnel them out, and hope they aren't the one with DS.

If the game incentivized chases and hooks, and actually rewarded killers for hooking more survivors and spreading pressure, you'd see far less tunneling happen.

My proposal to "fix" tunneling and camping has always been and remains the same:

    • Revert the anti face camp feature, you won't need it with the following.
    • Remove the ability to 4% off the hook, its a dumb mechanic that lets survivors get out of the game without a DC penalty at worst, and at its best, it rewards survivors with pure luck that allows them to turn a match around with no skill involved.
    • All survivors now share the 1st hook state. The struggle phase only happens once those hook states have been burned through.
      • This means that if you hard tunnel someone out, you have to hook them 6 times to kill them and the earliest a survivor can be removed is after 6 hooks. If you can't win a game in 6 hooks from someone ignoring other survivors, you are just bad at the game.
    • Replace AFC with something similar to the pyramid head mechanic. If a killer is within 16 meters of a hook for more than 10 total seconds, with a 5 second grace period, even if another survivor is nearby then do the following:
      • The survivor on the hook i teleported to the hook that is CLOSEST the survivor who is FURTHEST from the killer.
      • This means that if the killer camps you are guaranteed to get the save within 15 seconds.
      • Proxy camping is already heavily nerfed with the 6 hook state thing, because if someone proxy camps, just ignore it and slam gens and you'll finish 5 gens before you burn through 6 minutes of hook states.
    • Remove basekit BT and replace with the following mechanic:
      • After being unhooked, a survivor gains the Ethereal status effect for 30 seconds. The Ethereal status effect does the following:
        • The survivor has no collision with the killer or other survivors
        • The survivor is invisible to the killer
        • The survivor makes no noise to the killer
        • The survivor makes no scratch marks
        • The survivor moves at 200% movement speed
        • The survivor can see the aura of all other survivors
        • The survivor is unable to do any conspicuous action
        • The survivor is unaffected by all killer or survivor perks
        • After the ethereal status effect ends, the survivor is fully healed.
      • This will do many different things:
        • first it makes tunneling literally impossible, you can't tunnel what you can't see, hear, or collide with.
        • Secondly, it gives the survivor a "time out" so now the killer KNOWS that the survivor that was hooked, can't do anything while they are hooked, and after they are unhooked they know they have a full 30 seconds of timeout where they know that survivor can't do anything, so they KNOW they aren't doing anything productive for a while.
        • Thirdly, it gives the survivor a chance to get to safety and avoid the killer. If they can't get somewhere safe within 30 seconds, they are doing something wrong.
        • Fourthly, it can't be abused by survivors who want to use the mechanic to body block the person who unhooked them, because they have 0 collision.
    • Rework the concept of a win/draw.
      • Survivors now win/lose/draw as a team, and not as individuals (right now an escape is a win for the individual even if the other 3 died, and hatch is always a draw, even if they all died at 5 gens.)
      • A draw is 6 hooks
      • A slight loss for the killer is 4-5 hooks
      • A big loss for the killer is <4 hooks
      • A slight win for the killer is 7-8 hooks
      • A big win for the killer is 9+ hooks

If they did this, and then monitored gen times, and win rates for a little while and then start making tweaks to the base gen times, or base regression and so on, you'd see a much better much healthier and much more fun game for everyone, where hooks are incentivized instead of chases.

Other than the 30 second time out after being hooked, I think all that is good. Not sure how we could improve that, as doing nothing for thirty seconds is a little unintuitive, but I understand why it's there for balancing purposes. Overall good stuff.

  • I don't know if it's killing the game. I'm not sure if anyone is an authority on that.

It is definitely negatively impacting me whenever I play Survivor.

    It certainly isn't helping things.

    Not really.

Games can't change on a curve for an individuals time commitment. It's why competitive game communities heavily skew younger with people with less time commitments because they have more time to learn the game. This is generally pretty fair put more time in see better results, there's no way for devs to make things easier for people with less time nor should they really.

The best they can do is create a place to learn which granted DBD didn't for a long time but now you can just go into a custom game and put in bots to help you learn a killer until you feel comfortable to go into pubs. At which point you learn the killer and start doing alright or you lose until your MMR drops enough to give you balanced matches. It's about as fair as they could make it so besides that the only thing you could do is make a new account and have your MMR restart from scratch.

I was asking if you could understand why learning a new Killer is unappealing. Sorry, should've been more clear.

Im sorry to tell you of all people this but: learn to lose. If you play badly, you shouldnt win your matches. Learning is part of the progress.

I dont want to be that guys, but if you just want to have enough time learning, play customs or slap on grim embracre, deadlock, dms and corrupt.

I think many people here on the forums would gladly play customs with you so that you have time to learn.

    I would welcome the assistance.

At least then it'd be fun lol

  • @Xendritch said:

You shouldn't be winning when you don't know what you're doing otherwise there's no point in learning a killer.

Yes you will lose a lot that's just part of the process eventually you will start winning and it will have felt worth it.

I kinda hate this trend in gaming lately where everyone wants instant gratification and don't want to work for anything.

I have a limited amount of time that I can play any games at all.

I already need to choose DBD over other games, which is becoming more and more rare. To top that off, I need to spend that time doing something that probably won't be very fun and will likely be frustrating.

Surely when it's broken down like that, you can see the issue.

Yes, but it's based on your top 3 or so killers, and that "certain point" isn't particularly high. Even if you have three killers at really high MMR (say 2000+), it's not going to bump your new killer to that level. It bumps them to like 1200 (I think), which is well below the soft cap*. In that range, most of competition is going to be pretty lousy (or at least mixed), particularly if you're a super experienced player.

Now in cases like Billy, Nurse, etc. who are very mechanically distinct from all other killers this is still slightly unfair to be sure, but it's certainly not the same as being thrown into the same matchmaking tier as your best killer.

But at the end of the day, the prescription is the same: take your lumps.

I totally get that losing most of your matches really sucks, especially if you're used to winning most of them. But thems the breaks. And it'll be temporary.

*All of this is based on the best info I could find, since BHVR isn't terribly transparent

I guess I'll just stick to bot matches or give up on the Billy dream lol

I can't do 40 five minute matches to learn a vital aspect of him. I just don't have that kind of time or patience anymore.

If you're losing the majority of your matches just from switching killers, it means you don't really know how to play DBD as killer. I'm guessing you only play Nurse and/or Blight.

Start with a basic M1 killer like Wraith and actually learn how the game works. After that, it's pretty straight forward to move between killers and still win most games.

If you're a solid killer player and spend 10 or so games just focusing on learning how to chainsaw, you should be back to winning most of your games no matter what your MMR is.

You want to win with Billy, 10 or so games. You want to master Billy, thousands of hours.

.....Wraith, GF, Wesker and Nemesis are my mains, but I usually rotate new Killers in. I don't really appreciate the insinuation.

If I'm playing Billy, I'm not trying to M1, friend. I'm trying to use his saw, which isn't helped by knowing how to use Wraith. I've played every Killer extensively besides Hag, SM, Nurse and Billy. No interest in Hag or SM. Nurse makes me motion sick and Billy just got buffed.

I have legitimately never touched him outside of his Adept and Saw achievement which I farmed for during the 4th Anni, I think.

Learn the killer mechanics in a bot match, and then just go play real matches

But honestly it doesn't sound like you have mentality to learn a new killer, who cares if you lose a hundred matches.

CoconutRTS said something like "if we don't worry about kills, and we worry about consistency, it's all about making mistakes. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, instead build off them."

Granted he was speaking for Huntress but I think that saying works regardless for whatever killer you're trying to learn.

And typically what I do, which I stated above, is by playing a killer in a bot match with no addons, just so I can get a grasp of how the basics of the killer function, and then I'll take it to real matches still without using addons, I did this with both Hillbilly and Oni. Win or lose just practice.

Uh, I care if I lose a hundred matches???

Who would WANT to do that?

Honestly, most of the survs you're facing when using a new killer for the first time are almost certainly worse than the bots.

But the best answer is you play against bots until you get a decent grip on the mechanics of the killer. This is luxury of the bot matches.

Then you move into live, where you will face relative potatoes for a decent amount of time. Then when you hit the soft cap, you'll just have to eat some losses. Maybe a lot of losses.

If your fundamentals are good, and they should be after thousands of hours in the game, you at least won't get absolutely and brutally pantsed the way you did when trying a high skill floor killer before bots were implemented.

If you're looking for a nice scaling sandbox to help you transition smoothly directly into the same win rate you have with your usual killers, that's just not a reasonable expectation to have. And one isn't forthcoming.

Just be willing to eat some #########. It's how you learn. Losing isn't the end of the world, I don't know why so many people seem so terrified of it.

I feel like that's not true, doesn't MMR scale off of your highest MMR Killer?

Because I've been trying him a bit and I've been playing against higher hour players than I do on my mains, which doesn't always equal skill but jesus dude.

EDIT: Yes, MMR does scale off of your higher MMR Killers, they all get bumped to a certain point if you have other Killers high up. That probably explains it.

  • @Xernoton said:

Your MMR shouldn't be too high on a killer you don't play. So I think it's somewhat alright. Obviously, if you learn a difficult killer and keep screwing over yourself, then you're not going to win but this is less of a problem with matchmaking and more with the skill floor of some killers.

I remember the first 5 games I played as Nurse. I already had a few hundred hours of experience in the game but I still lost because I had no idea what I was doing and kept overblinking. In order for me to win in that situation the game would have needed to pair me with the absolute weakest group of survivors it could find. But that wouldn't be fair either. If you play worse than your opponents, you should lose. Matchmaking cannot account for you making the same mistake 15 times in a row.

That said, I would certainly like a practice mode or something like this, where you can play against a very basic AI and learn maps, looping (as much as possible against an AI) and a killer's power.

MMR is directly tied to your highest Killer MMR, I thought. I thought it was a certain number of points off your highest.

    Did they change that?

    Bot mode

That's great until you figure out that the bots are absurdly bad.

I seem to remember them actually being good when they first got introduced, idk what happened.

uh, I gave you an answer to every add-on and you told me I don't want to have a discussion. You took one part of my entire response being c33 and how it's miniscule effect can be achieved better at most tiles with just playing blight properly and then you disregarded everything because of that.

Your adept at making statements and never responding to anything against you properly. For such a vet of the forums and the game it does make me sad.

It's not like I told you, you didn't have a bad time playing dbd today. Even without running the new perk combo I know it's strong especially on blight. You had a bad time because of perks not because of the supposed op add-ons.

I'll always explain my thoughts, it's up to you to contest them. Only on something like hook suicide will I just say I am right. If you don't contest me then that means you don't want a discussion or you don't actually have real answers, just statements.

I have told you that I am unable to have an unbiased discussion due to my recent experiences.

The fact of the matter, for me, is that in what was supposed to be a long awaited nerf patch; Blight escaped by having two add-ons buffed, two nerfed somewhat significantly and two others left functionally the same. Couple this with an absolutely miserably strong build that he uses uniquely well and the patch that was supposed to nerf him made him stronger than the previous patch.

I replied to you earlier and you didn't respond.

Tag is nerfed, if you want to tunnel it's more consistent to not use iri tag. Infinite rushes can play around some pallets but some are so safe infinite rushes without previous speed can' play around them even on a good blight. Something standard like the double car L tile is a prime example. Chucky can use his power and get a hit as majority of pallets opposed to blight. Again base kit blight would have less downsides and is therefore more consistent at tunneling. Breaking a pallet = a 20 second cd makes it have insane counter play regardless of the miniscule skill on the blights part. It's worse than base kit blight so I would consider it unusable yes. You want to play better legion go for it, if you want to hard tunnel on blight hit of hook and press m2.

Adren isn't buffed either, not even close. The double cd of old adren was what made it so extremely oppressive. If you had a map with solid collision, the turn rate was irrelevant. Not sure how you could possibly think this was an overall buff. The flicks are easily 4counterable and the plus two rushes don't make it broken even with ring.

Rat and crow got literally halved and again I would have been fine making them additive. That's not a slap on the wrist, that's a decent nerf even if they are still good.

again, explain why ring is extremely good without my adding any input. I hope your reasoning isn't map traversal.

C33 stacking with umbra salts makes it interesting but I have no idea what makes it extremely good. Abusing the semi-noticible turn rate is a gimmick compared to base kit bump logic except at some tiles.

    Gotta explain your reasoning

Your overblowing all of these add-ons they are nothing compared to the old ones, which I don't have a problem with.

I am always open to discussion but you'll have to explain yourself.

I did get about 40 notifications.

I don't really think you do want a discussion just based off of your answer about bump logic. I do not have the emotional nor mental patience to argue with someone about this after having such a miserable day on DBD, primarily because of this Killer.

    Hope you understand.

but the perks peak strength comes from spreading hooks. You can't say i am tunneling if i am spreading hooks. At that point, your blaming your loss on your inability to be successful at the chase.

If you tunnel one person out, does the perk deactivate?

Nope. Still works just fine if you turbo tunnel the first played you see.

But blight changes didn't go live, both his iri add-ons got nerfed into the ground. Adren got buffed from D tier to A tier though.

OW doesn't even have a ptb anymore as far as I'm aware and leagues pbe is actually used quite well, people use and abuse the new stuff and it's changed. If something dumb gets through it gets hotfixed that day most of the time.

Nerfed into the ground. Literally unusable.

One only makes him the strongest tunneler by allowing him a guaranteed hit with next to no skill required. It's like if Chucky could just keep using his power without a cooldown. So that's a buff.

Adrenaline Vial got straight up buffed.

Rat and Crow got a slap on the wrist.

Alc Ring is still extremely good.

C33 got hit the hardest but is...surprise, still good.

    Oh, the humanity of it.

grim embrace doesn't stop tunneling, it gives option for killer to not tunnel. Previously to Grim embrace, If I saw survivor 3 and survivor 4. I wouldn't chase survivor 3 or survivor 4. It is waste of my time. I will only chase survivor 1 and survivor 2 until survivor 1 and survivor 2 are dead. Now if I see survivor 3 or survivor 4, I might chase them because perk incentives me to do that.

It encourages you to tunnel because it makes the game virtually unwinnable when you have three people

Agreed. I saw that on the PTB as well. You cannot do the exact same things against him anymore. You can however use his new weaknesses against him. When in overdrive he is so fast, that he cannot adjust when you try to juke him. He also can't curve as tight as he normally would. When he isn't in overdrive you can still mind game him. Is he going to curve wide or close? Make the right prediction and he will not hit you.

I played against 2 Billys today and while I wasn't doing amazing against the first (made too many mistakes), I could play pretty well around the second once I reached some decent structures / loops. People will need a bit of time to adjust but I am 100% certain new Billy is not overpowered. Oppressive, yes. But not problematic. Although, I don't like what they've done with the Greased Throttle and Thompson Mix. I think reducing the missed chainsaw cooldown further is a risky move. It would probably be better to replace these effects with something else.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3638032#Comment_3638032

It's never too late. You can play him and just chill. Who cares, if you don't win? Just play him and eventually you'll learn to use his new kit. I need to relearn a lot of it myself (the extra speed in overdrive and the reduced charge time mess with muscle memory) but he's honestly amazing.

There's always Driftking Billy, if you really want to turn off your brain and just vibe. And he's better than ever.

I played Nurse earlier today. For the first time in months. Without perks (other than Shadowborn before the patch dropped) or addons. I still got a 3k at 3 gens with the last survivor finding hatch before me. I have never mained Nurse and I am not good with her but you can honestly stomp with every killer no matter how bad you play, if you play against survivors, that don't play good either.

    me :(

You really dont... I haven't had many games with him at all, and my first game playing NEW Billy was a 4k at 5 gens. This isn't like with Nurse how you can assume to be stomped for awhile. He's pretty easy to pick up now.

    Maybe I'll try him
