Well, I appreciate all our lovely Devs coming to chat with us. I really appreciate that, I think that's something special we have. Not many other community's have this level of Dev interaction and I don't want to take it for granted.
As for our Mods, they keep the Forums clean and provide reason. I cannot thank them enough.

Sorry nobody finds it fun to sit on the ground bleeding out for 5 minutes.
Pretty sure it is a 4 minute bleed out timer but I could be wrong.
Also, Unbreakable is meta.
Also also, I don't find it fun when my games are pretty much over in 5 minutes.

Why are Killers able to see the survivors and their addons in Lobbies, but Survivors cant see what killer they're facing?
Because the game is massively in the Survivors favor when the trial first starts, the Killer needs that information. Giving Survivors that info will cause an even larger imbalance of power than we already have

I’m not supporting this kind of dodging, but by that logic quitting during offering screen eg cause of a mori, would be a similar thing, the game hasn’t started and it won’t hurt anyone, and will cancel it, the only difference being it would be like old lobby dodging pre dedicated servers, taking longer to reque
I also don't support it, but I understand why people do it.

You're right. If they could fix whatever problem happened when they put dedicated servers on the PS4 this issue might resolve itself. As it is right now though my long waits were created the moment the servers went in place. Maybe that's the issue I should be harping on.
I honestly don't even have that much of an issue with killers seeing the survivors, but not the other way around. I do think as a survivor I should be able to at least see the username of the killer I am facing because there are those that have been harassing in the past that I shouldn't have to play against. The other half of that is I still don't think killers should be ducking a lobby because of toolboxes or Claudettes.
I don't condone it, but I can understand why people don't want to play against toolboxes right now. Two to three gens pop in the first chase, with toolboxes, it could be four.
That isn't fun or fair.

I completely understand the thought that you want to be able to change things up before the match based on what you see in the lobby. I could say the same thing as a survivor. If I see a Ghostface I may want to equip spine chill. If I see a doc I may want to equip calm spirit.
That's part of playing Survivor tho. You don't know quite what you are gonna get. They aren't meant to have a ton of info at base. That gives them a lot of power.

Once again though... ever since the implementation of dedicated servers on PS4 I absolutely do not find games fast. Not even close. My wait times are LONG.
What I am saying is that it shouldn't be that way, they should be fairly fast.
Not enough Killers ig, or not enough Red Rank Killers.
-
@mmain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1084834#Comment_1084834
That's the thing though. Killers get to see the survivors. They get to see if the survivors have toolboxes or whatever. They get to see if any of the survivors are someone that has harassed them before. Survivors don't get any of those options to know if they want to dodge.
Because Killers need that basic info, they are under time pressure and should know if they need to switch things up.
Survivors hold the power in the early game, they do not need more info, at least at that stage of the game. Rework the stuff that isn't fun but keep it strong.
Basically, don't do what was done to Prayer Beads.

As long as I can see if the game will be unfun before I go in I'm cool with it. But loading in just to see an iri head huntress with infantry belt and ebony mori is a game not worth playing.
What I was saying is that lobby dodging shouldn't matter, because you should find games fast. I don't think Survivors need any more info, but things need to be made a little more fun.
-
@Feyd said:

"Rules for thee and not for me."
You're basically saying it's okay for killers to dip out of a match that looks unpleasant, but survivors should just suck it up and play a match against an unpleasant setup.
If this DC system is going in as it is, then lobby dodging either needs to be treated to the same penalty, or the survivors need to see what the killer is, the quality of the addons, and if there's a mori.
Otherwise you are going to have a lot of suicides on your hands.
If Survivor's want to dodge lobby's, that's fine. So long as they don't DC, I really don't care.

That shows how little understanding for gameplay you have, if you even mention genrush and equalize it with camping, tunneling and slugging.
Gen rushing is the same thing as tunneling. It is both sides trying to complete their objective as fast as they can, because they know the faster they do that, the better their chances of winning.
Slugging and camping, not so much.
-
It is more difficult to see keys, but if I see toolboxes, I think "oh, its gonna be one of these games."

Its the killers fault that people have to run these perks. So if anything gets changed, it would be the cheap gameplay on killer side.
You are so incredibly biased, I am sorry, but I've been seeing your posts and they are all leaning towards one side.
Try to see things from both sides, it is a never-ending cycle of people getting mad at everyone else.

@mmain said:
If I understand correctly the new DC penalties are to punish people that disconnect in a match simply because they don't like the way the match is going. The rationale is that disconnecting is unfair to the rest of the people in the match. I 100% agree this needed to be done.
I posted a thread yesterday about queue times on PS4 and had people started commenting on it how when they play killer and they get stuck in a lobby they don't like because of the amount of survivors with toolboxes or whatever reason they just dodge it. Toolboxes are part of the game. The rationale behind dodging in this situation is no different than the rationale of disconnecting in a match. They don't like something so they dodge. Dodging is still disconnecting. It's just done in the lobby instead of the match. It's just as unfair to the people you dodged as disconnecting in match. Sometimes it's more unfair because you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more for your lobby to fill again.
Why does lobby dodging get a free pass when it's done for exactly the same reason as disconnecting?
Because lobby dodging shouldn't be hurting anyone.
If there weren't a shortage of players to match with at Red Ranks, nobody would care because it wouldn't take long to get in a match. Also, because you lose nothing when someone dodges.
If you don't want to get dodged, I have found that not bringing four toolboxes increases your chances.
-
I would like Dedicated Servers on Xbox when they work properly. From what I've seen and experienced, they aren't very good, but I suppose we will just have to remain hopeful.

I've definitely had people DC because of Devour so, idk.

no ######### all of these perks are counterable but you decide to complain and ask for nerfs instead of adapting.
DS - stop tunneling
BT - stop tunneling
DH - bait it
here again we see why killers are the whiny part of this community..
DS is far too prevalent, it's in most of my red rank matches. That alone is grounds for a nerf, apparently.
How about this, DS resets on another Survivor being hooked.
As for BT, the only time I ever see BT used is to unhook in the Killer's face as he is walking away. He is then put in a lose-lose, chase the unhooker and have a 45 second chase, lose 2 gens. Chase the unhooked guy, wait out BT, pick him up, get DS'd.

It is bait no question about that.
I don't know, it kinda seems like he might actually want help. I would rather off help and have it not be needed than offer nothing when help was needed, ya know?
-
I'm going to assume that this isn't bait.
To start, no Killer is a free win Killer. Every Killer takes some semblance of skill or experience, no exceptions.
As for Doctor, his Shock Therapy has a limited range, slows him down and only affects you for a short duration. As such, if you think you might get hit by it, drop the pallet early. As for vault points, if you start the vault animation, you usually don't get pulled back. Vault as soon as he starts charging his Shock Therapy, if he hits you with it, it is unlikely you would have made it in the first place.
Hope this helps!
-
Yeah, console DBD is pretty bad. We love it anyways tho

Haven't ever bought cosmetics, not planning to either, I just can't spend that much money XD

Sadly I probably have more than 500 hours, I just switched platforms recently and I quit for awhile 💀 and playing it safe usually gets me killed 😎 this game is about being quick and smart.
To a degree, I agree. You need to be able to adapt and adjust quickly. You also need to know when to play it safe.
-
@deollie said:

Okay then fix loops LOL 😂😂
If you actually play safe around MOST loops, you shouldn't ever be hit. Judging from what you are saying, you are around a 500 hour player. Skilled, but not outstanding. I'm in the same boat.
Fixing loops takes time, the goal is to make them all like Hawkins or similar to Hawkins.

Lol, well I still would like the lunge to be shorter. That's all I'm insisting.
Not gonna happen until loops are fixed.
-
@deollie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076980#Comment_1076980
Distance. That's the key word here. There should be no distance from a killer to a survivor when they are going for a hit. Looping will stay the same. I just want things to be more realistic.
There's your problem, this game isn't realistic. If it were, Survivors wouldn't get up. That wouldn't be very fun, would it?
-
@deollie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076932#Comment_1076932
Players already loop shack more times than needed. The loop won't change, hits will just be more accurate.
Loops will change, tell me how the Killer no longer being able to hit you from a certain distance will not change loops.
-
@deollie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076923#Comment_1076923
We're not talking about changing the game or even getting rid of the lunge. Shortening it will not make loops extremely safe, it will just make killers have to put a little more effort in their chase.
It will make loops safer. If the Killer's cannot hit you, the loop will continue.
That means at least 4 loops out of shack.
-
@deollie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076899#Comment_1076899
There is a thing called perks that killers can use. If that isn't enough to get some kills by actual skill, then Id say.. Go ahead and keep your huge lunge. But, it's annoying to get downed by a killer that may not be as good as others because of that lunge. Making it shorter will not ruin killer, it will just require more concentration. Which I feel should be required to get some kills.
No, it will make every loop extremely safe. We will have to remove a lot of loops and make the one's currently avaliable shorter and unsafe.

It’s nowhere near as bad as old DS. People that say this forget just how bad old DS was.
I very rarely ever get hit by new DS. If its affecting you that much then you need to look at the way you play. You should only be getting the od one every couple of games at most if you’re truly not tunneling.
Why shouldn't I tunnel? It's way better to eat 4 DS early and get them out of the way.

Sounds about right, yeah.
It's a huge tell to what ranks a person is at when they say certain things. Like "mori's are very common".
Now now, they may be telling the truth. It is improbable, but completely possible.

Since the Stranger Things update, I've had a total of 3 Ebony's, 5 Ivory's and 2 Cypress.

I have played him, mind you I play on console, and he doesn't feel good.
Low FPS, bad sensitivity and overall poor controls make him a nightmare on console, imo. He needs the precision of Nurse but gives you the power of Myers.

Hey, Rank 1 player on Xbox here.
I main Legion, my build is Sloppy, M&A, PGTW and Corrupt.
Add-Ons: Defaced Smiley Pin and Scratched Ruler.
I usually 4K every game, but not because Legion is good. I 4K because Survivors get cocky and make big time mistakes. You have to learn how to punish mistakes HARSHLY. Someone messes up a loop? Slug them, find someone nearby to chase. That person gets picked up? Down them and chase the person who picked them up.
That's the best advice I can give.

Ok ? FunGoose won 116 games as plague in a row ...so does that mean plague is over powered? My point is still valid gens do go to fast and yes I might have 4Kd but only because these survivors became to cocky and didn’t really know how to loop
No, it means he is a good Killer and knows how to play Plague to a maximum efficiency.
People get OP Killer and good player confused a lot. He likely punished their mistakes and they lost because of it.

Tunnelling is a strategy for noobs. It isn't right, I think about everyone's fun. I mean how fun can it be to get in a match just to be camped and tunnelled out. I understand that gen rushing is a problem but if you just focus on 1 person you aren't protecting the gens, all your accomplishing is ruining that players fun.
No, I'm winning. Getting rid of one person is strategically the best move I can make. A 3v1 is massively in my favor, but I will lose a 4v1. With how fast gens go right now, I have no problem with it. I don't want to do it, but if I see three gens pop in my first chase, I will do what I must.

You can’t automatically say “you’d still win” especially on a corn map with a killer like bubba or clown or even legion yes it’s possible but you could still lose especially if the survivors don’t become over altruistic or cocky and stay on gens
I've gotten Rotten Fields 3 times in those last 20ish games. Every time it was with Legion. Survivors did gens, I got downs. Hooked one in the basement and applied Sloppy to everyone. They kept trying to heal and it cost them the game.
They kept trying to do gens near the end, hard to do gens while you are one hit.

Yeah because I should just allow myself to be tunnelled. I mean old ruin was the same almost every killer had it. I have been playing killer more and the perks I use are BBQ, Thanatophobia, Bitter Murmur, and the 4th depends on the killer but never ruin or NOED. So saying that DS is a crutch perk is a load of crap killer mains say, because every perk is a crutch perk because it's meant to help you win. I run DS because I got tired of killers literally hooking me and then waiting for me to get pulled off just to farm me.
Tunneling is a good strategy. I don't blame Survivors who genrush, they are only doing their objective. I also don't blame Killers who tunnel, a 4v1 is massively against them, but a 3v1 is way more even.

They became over altruistic and I got them all with my ability..imagine if I was playing someone like clown tho or legion or even bubba that game would have gone differently oni has amazing snowball potential
You still would have gotten them. I have 4K'd 17 games in a row with Legion. If you get good enough at punishing their mistakes, you will win almost every game.

So because I still got the 4K or made 1 or 2 mistakes made my point invalid?
Partially, yes.
You ended up with the 4K, so clearly the genrush didn't affect much. However, I am willing to bet they started getting cocky and making dumb plays.
I main Legion at Rank 1 on Xbox, I only win when Survivors let me, but I play pretty much perfectly. I rely on their mistakes to win.
-
I am trying to actually contribute something.
From personal experience, and second-hand experience, Survivors at Red Ranks are far more likely to be toxic than the Killer. Most of the toxic Killers hover around low Purple and Green Ranks.
However, just by simple logistics, there have to be more toxic Survivors than toxic Killers. You need four Survivors to start a match but only one Killer.
Anyway. point is, you are trying to incite anger and outrage by drawing lines between Survivors and Killers. The line you SHOULD be drawing is between toxic people and non-toxic people.
-
I either read or browse the forums.
Got through the Divine Comedy and I'm about halfway through the Canterburry Tales.
-
As Survivor: Claudette and Ace, sometimes Nea.
As Killer: Legion, GhostFace, Myers and Doc (before rework)

Prologue
Just had a game where my Devour Hope lasted long enough to get me two free mori. I was super excited because typically totems don't really last long since survivors can memorize the common totem spots.
However, when I received my 4K, I received Brutal Killer as a result. I was baffled how I didn't rank up despite me obviously outplaying my opponents.
The ranking system really needs some fine tuning, the emblem system just doesn't work for the killer role because sacrifices, your primary goal, are weighted 25% towards ranking up. I believe something has to give, either make the system based on sacrifices or make skill based mori grant points.
What do y'all think about the killer ranking system? 😁
For Mori offerings, I get that it gives you a penalty. Devour should give you a bonus if anything, definitely not a brutal.
-
Pretty sure Rizzo just said to keep it civil and respectful.
-
Balance-wise? Hawkins. I think a lot will disagree. There are plenty of pallets and good loops, but most can be mindgamed.
Least balanced? Every Coldwind map, Haddonfield, new Lery's imo, The Game, Ormond and The Aslyum.
