I've decided that you are not reading... Please review the Original Post as I have updated the image. And Once again and for the final time. The question has nothing to do with the ability to complete the rift.
I just don't understand why they would lock one generic challenge out from being completed out of all 4 tombs. This is literally the only generic challenge you can not complete out of all 4 tombs. Which literally could be resolved, by just flipping it with the Doc one.
So, what is the big deal? One challenge out of the whole Rift? It is not stopping you from completing anything, right?

Are you even reading what I am asking? Or are you just responding with a generic repeat message?
My question, once again, has nothing to do with the ownership of the DLC. It has nothing to do with ones ability to acquire the DLC, either via shards in the game or real life money.
The question is, "Why is this one and only specific challenge behind a DLC Character?" If you look at tomb 1 you were able to complete every challenge without owning any DLC characters. Also if you look around the internet and find the leaked Tomb 3 and 4, you will also notice, no other generic challenge is behind a DLC killer.
I simply don't understand why they didn't flip this challenge with the Doc one, to make it inline with the other 3 Tombs and make it so that you could complete all generic challenges without owning and DLC characters.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1064671#Comment_1064671
That specific challenge is just hook 5 Survivors in one challenge, its actually an easy challenge to complete. To be clear, I am referring to the challenge behind the Doc Challenge, not the Doc Challenge itself.
I´m pretty sure that you can still complete Tome II without buying any characters. Go through the Survivor route.
Plus, it won´t really affect anything, if you really want it, save up some Shards and go back for it later.

I feel as though you missed my point, so let me clarify it. Using tome 1 as example and even Tombs 3 and 4 (because they were leaked), this is the only generic challenge that requires you to own a DLC character.
In every other tomb (1, 3, and 4) you are able to complete all generic challenges without owning the DLC characters. However, in Tomb 2 alone, there is one generic challenge (Killer to be specific, which is more upsetting because there are already way more survivor challenges in this rift than killer) that is locked behind having to own the Doc DLC.
Now to be clear, I own the Doc DLC and can do this challenge, my question has nothing to do with someone's ability to obtain the DLC killer, my question is, why is this specific generic killer challenge locked behind a DLC killer, while no other challenge is? Why not just flip its position with the Doc Challenge to keep it in line with the rest of the tombs?
Killers already got less challenges than survivors, why make it worst by locking people out of one if they don't own Doc?
You get the DLC for free on console and most PC players own it already. You can earn the DLC for free by playing the game.
-
Every single Killer is available for free. You do not have to use any money to complete the Rift.

Are you some kind of Build inspector ? Even on a Meme build ? Let people use whatever they want, if I want to run No mither, Self care, Iron Will and Unbreakable I can and shouldn't be bothered by others.
And @Auron471 I would bring a map with the add-on which shows the aura for every Survivor and use that 1 second before and then 1 after the totem is broken so others can see you are cleansing totems and (hopefully) won't cleanse before you.
Nah I think he is being humorous.

I guess i am more of situational perk user then META. Soul Survivor is can be fun to use. Like a killer had dear stalker and he had a hard time finding me. It is a good counter of BBQ and Nurses. Try Soul Survivor, Iron Will, Calm Spirt, and Urban Invasion on a dark Claudette. You will have fun!
I'll have to try that, thanks!
-
@Reaper_xx said:
I use Soul Survivor because I like the I can see you but you can't see me type of thing
You are a braver person than I am, I wouldn't use Sole Survivor ever lol, but hey! Good perk diversity!

@Todgeweiht said:
Any killer is good if you know how to play him.
To a degree. At a certain point, it becomes about how many mistakes the Survivors make and how perfect you can play. Basically, your skill doesn't factor into your ability to win anymore, it's up to the Survivors to screw up.

I am not an expert player. I just play because why not. At times he gets me down because I wasn't paying attention at times.
OoO is generally used by people who excel at looping the Killer. Not saying don't use it, merely pointing out the players who generally use it

Yeah but I just had 3 ######### matches in a row because the matchmaking is screwed pitting me against red ranks as well as gens speeds being too damn fast. You can't blame me for being pissed.
No, I cannot blame you for being upset. I would be too. Channel that frustration into something healthier, for example, make a new perk to do what Ruin did, but make it fun and good for everyone.

Can you get addons to speed him up while charging? Not 100% familiar with him aside from his tantrum and chainsaw.
Yes, they make it more manageable but not good enough for me to reccomend him.
In short, he has no map pressure (way to move around the map quickly) and he has no chase potential.

He can still stalk you. I have been exposed when I was Using Object. He can still catch up to you.
Then I'm not sure why you are using OoO if you cannot loop.
If you allow him to stalk you when using OoO, it's kinda on you.
-
Camping will almost never allow you to pip, unless the Survivors misplay.
Bubba's chainsaw is a liability. It slows him down, locks him into an animation and is very punishing. Plus, the charge time is atrocious. Basically, you are better off M1 competent Survivors. I would recommend Bubba for his amazing perks, not his gameplay.

Object of Obsession was a good Counter against him. I don't know why they just nerf it.
Because it destroyed his power and there was no way for him to do anything about it

Calm down my friend. Let's try to put this into a logical argument.
"I would like to have pre-nerf Ruin back because it allowed me a chance at early game slowdown."
Does that sound about right?

So this topic is not about all the op perks but the trash perks, I would like you to list trash perks from either side such as small game and monstrous shrine and show how they could be changed, maybe the devs would read this and know what the community wants!
I actually like Small Game how it is. It picks up bear traps, Hag traps? Freddy pallets and totems.

Seems like a proxy camping, stair blocking killer. I'm not surprised. A style of gameplay that I refuse to use. I have been on the receiving end of such a tactic, and it sucked. When revealing gf, I have the worst luck. I can be looking in the opposite direction, and reveal him, which gives away my location, which also sucks. I don't think that revealing him should give you away.
You cannot block basement.
Camping is coolio.
Revealing him should give you away, otherwise he has zero clue what just happened or where he was spotted from.

Oh I agree the data doesn't mean much, but he was asking for data that was already have, as useless as it is.
True. However, I think he means reliable data. Unfortunately, I am not sure if there is a way to collect that until the MM and Ranking System are fixed. I think we will all be in the dark regarding kill rates until then, especially considering the, frankly embarrassing, reaction to the stats.
-
@ScottJund said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1062674#Comment_1062674
Eh? Don't we already have survival rates? And they're almost all below 50% for each killer?
I thought we had established (and been told) that the data was unreliable and not used for balance, else Trapper would be nerfed and Nurse would be buffed.
There are too many variables at play. For example, most Survivors at Red Ranks currently are boosted. The ranking system is...not great and Rank Reset doesn't help. BUT, the system for Killer is working fine, meaning most Red Rank Killers are supposed to be there. Ergo, there can be a massive skill difference between Killers and Survivors at Red Ranks, inflating kill rates.
Is that true? I do not know, but it seems highly likely. That's just one variable, I am sure there are plenty more.

Because Microsoft has saved us from the hell that is Dedicated Servers. Considering what I've seen and heard, I hope we never get them.

Why do we have to insult each other?
-
@ASAPTurtle said:
Hes the most buggiest killer ever released. You can literally stalk survivors through walls.
You can also get revealed through walls.
Also, that doesn't happen on Xbox because we don't have Dedicated Servers :D
-
How so? I think it is a fact to say that Survivor's do have more second chance perks.
Whether or not they have a fair counter is debatable though.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
I agree. He's the worst killer in the game to play against. I'd take Legion over GF anyday. Most of them just use stealth to camp/tunnel hooks, and the reveal is so broken he's either going to get a free hit or expose you by the time you've revealed him anyway. Hell just to break him out of his power you have to give away your location.
I wish they would just delete him. He really is that bad.
I disagree. For as many times as his power screws you over, it also screws him over.
It needs to be more consistent for both sides, though I've never had any trouble revealing him, I understand many do.

While players often talk about how killers aren't entitled to a 4k, should an individual survivor be able to escape this reliably?
There are several more examples... Is this intended to be this easy? Should a survivor be able to go into a match and expect to escape?
Just a thought.
@SpaceCoconut normally, I think you are on point, or at least on the right track. This time, not so much.
These guys play the game for a living AND they had their team sacrificing themselves for them.

Well it is just that if you don't explain why. He's rank 1 on both sides so at least people know he doesn't have bias. I think he has a good understanding of the devs' mindset for changes and a fun approach to how the game is played.
Tru3 is Rank 1 on both sides, but we all know he is biased lol

Otz is probably the most reliable source of info on dbd game balance, next to Ussylis. He knows the meta well and understands complex dbd gameplay theory.
I don't know, its probably my personal bias, but i don't like Ussylsis at all.

You missed the best part, the perk keeps activating until there's no more totems left. Therefore, if there's 5 totems remaining at the end game, they will need to cleanse your Hex 5 times to deactivate it. 😁
Oof, that's a decently strong effect tho. What about stacking with STBFL? We don't need another machine gun meta.
-
@NMCKE said:
OP, if you don't like what the perk does, you will need to give it an effect similar to what it has already.
The perk currently:
- Punishes survivors for not taking time off generators to do totems.
- Gives the killer a powerful tool if the survivors refuse to take time off generators to do totems.
I'll give you my idea for changing the perk while maintaining its strength.
Hex: No One Escapes Death
You have a Hex tied to survivor's false hope for survival.
If there is any dull totem remaining after the Exit Gates are powered, it will have this Hex applied to it.
While this Hex is active, the EGC will initiate as if an Exit Gate was already opened and the killer receives:
- 5% Movement speed increase.
- 10%/15%/20% Successful attack cool-down reduction.
Upon the related Hex totem is cleansed, if there is any dull totem remaining, it will have this Hex applied to it. Otherwise, the EGC timer will pause until normal conditions are met and the killer lose the bonus effects.
@Pulsar, I changed my idea for changing NOED if it were to get reworked by the developers. 😁
Ooo, I like this one. Like budget STBFL!

@DwightOP said:

OR:
After hex ruin got destroyed, generators will regress automatically but with regular kicking speed.
There is a reason I didn't do that. That is basically just Hex: Ruin if it wasn't a Hex and they have said they didn't want to do that.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1061469#Comment_1061469
Double regression speed shouldn't trouble survivors who pressure gens efficiently. I can't say for sure though because I have yet to master dbd gameplay theory.
I haven't either lol. I'm just trying to bounce ideas off of people and so far this appears to be my best one.
-
It is easier to change gens speeds than rework all the maps.
People don't want to wait 2-3 years for all the maps to be fixed.
-
Would be cool, but it would kill FPS I think

We'll have to agree to disagree. I am set firm in my opinion that ruin was poorly designed, it gives a better advantage against worse survivors and is weak against extremely good survivors. Not to mention the frustration it gives newer survivors which was stifling BHVR's income.
I agree with you on BL. It is still a good perk if not the worst or 2nd worst exhaustion perk. Fall stun reduction on cooldown is what I want as well. I can't imagine any other reason to release MoM like that other than grabbing cash.
Probably the same reason Legion went live. They just didn't know what they had done.
Yes, we shall have to agree to disagree. Though, what do you think of my suggestion above? I feel it makes both party's happy.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1061414#Comment_1061414
Is that such a bad thing? They did the same to BL and MoM. Who knows? They could eventually do so to DS too.
BL is still good, though, I would've liked to have had the fall stun reduction on a cooldown like Q&Q. MoM is just poorly designed.
Ruin was well designed but it was a band-aid. We all know that.
-
I disagree. Ruin is too strong to be a regular perk, but too weak for a Hex perk.
This is where my idea comes in.
A Hex that affects all survivors' generator repair progress. All generators are affected by Hex: Ruin. While a generator is not being repaired by a survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress repair progress at 150%/175%/200% of the normal regression speed.
Once the related Hex totem is destroyed, Hex: Ruin will no longer regress generators automatically. You must damage generators to apply this effect towards generators.
Thanks to @NMCKE for the formatting.

I play around 60/40 or 70/30. I made that choice when I joined the forums, I wanted to have a good idea of the struggles that both sides face.
