This is my first rift ever (I played years ago and took a break. I stopped before rifts were a thing). Im currently 52 and have the first 2 sections fully done with the 3rd about halfway done. It does feel like it takes a lot of time to do rifts, a bit too much but it's not nearly as bad as some people made it sound (some indicated its not worth trying)
How much do you play??
I've done most of the challenges and I'm only at 35 and I play a TON.

Probably come down to a 4-way at the end.
Demogorgon, since he has been shown to survive being burned alive and was light up by 20+ soldiers using what seemed to be MP5K's.
Michael Myers, since he is the physical manifestation of Evil. He's been burned alive, shot by a S&W Model 15 Revolver, which is basically the .357 Magnum's younger brother and he took two of those rounds to the forehead.
Oni, since he appears to be incredibly physically resilient.
Pyramid Head, since he is similar to Myers as a manifestation of guilt.
I think it'd end up being a tie between Myers and Pyramid Head, since they are both more ideas than anything else. Coincidentally, they are also the only two Killers that can simply say "Nah fam" to the Entity and there isn't much the Entity can do about it.

That's my point. For the game to be truly balanced, since out of the playerbase we should have an equal amount of talent between killer and survivor, we should see roughly 2.5 or 2.6 would show a lean towards killer. If those are updated statistics, I think it just shows that we shouldn't nerf survivors more, to the point of making it easier for killers. If we nerf any survivors, it has to be at the expense of Freddy, Spirit, Hag, etc.
2.6 means that it is still an average of 2 Survivors dying per game.
The slight skew likely comes from new players who do not understand the game yet.

Maybe your experience is different then mine. But a good killer doesn't often get looped for 100 seconds, even against a good survivor.
Haha, that's funny.
A good Survivor will have Dead Hard. A good Survivor will know how to run tiles in a way that forces the Killer to eat pallets. A good Survivor will EASILY loop a good Killer for 100 seconds simply because the Killer can't do anything about it.
But, let's say you are right, let's say the Survivors only loop the Killer for 30 seconds each, which is EXTREMELY low. You could almost get more time by running straight. Even in that unrealistic scenario, the Killer still loses. 3 gens will pop before he has 3 hooks. The Survivors have completed 60% of their Objective by the time the Killer completes 25% of theirs.

Which gen? I played her a bit on series X to see performance and it was actually okay. Even in my first match I was hitting some blinks
One X.
Nurse also makes me motion sick, I think it has something to do with how she blinks/the fatigue animation. Doing Nurse challenges has been a nightmare, I legit gave up because I made myself physically ill from playing her.

I'm talking basic statistics.
I understand personally as a killer, if you are better you should be rewarded. But you are ALSO facing higher ranked survivors. Who should also be better.
If an average game ends in 3 to 4 deaths, or even 2 to 4 deaths, the game leans towards killer. Even green and purple ranks still tend to lean towards killer in my experience, especially if they run any decent perks.
Again my point isn't too say the game is terrible or need to be fixed. My point is simply that we need to stop complaining about every survivor perk, trying to artificially make the game even easier for killers. Except for ds, which needs that nerf!
The average game ends in 2.66 deaths, iirc. Those stats are old though, and there is pretty much zero context behind them.
-
I say GG :D after every single game.
I used to be a pretty toxic gamer (back in my OW days) and saying GG to people helps me remember that there is another human being on the other side of my connection.
I've also had a lot of really nice conversations and made a lot of friends by doing that :)

There's far more to beating a killer then looping. But I can say the same the other way around. Certain perks make killers near unstoppable. They win with little effort.
I agree though, I'm sure it sucks as a killer when you destroy people and they still all get out
Eh, not really. If even one person is a decent looper and takes the Killer on a good chase (100ish seconds) and the other last 30 seconds (short chase) then that puts the Killer in a bad spot.
So long as your team does gens while the other is being chased, in that above scenario, Killer loses even with very short chases.

Because the TR requirement is stupid. BT is supposed to give survivors a chance against campers. BT is supposed to help free a hooked survivor and at the very least allow someone to trade places on the hook with them. Freddy, for example, ignores BT as if youre asleep he doesnt have a terror radius. He can hit a healthy survivor and put them to sleep so the unhooked person doesnt get BT. Wraith, Pig, T1 Myers, insidious, etc all counter BT as they negate the TR aspect. It should just be a radius and that would be enough.
It definitely doesnt need another nerf. Its only 15 seconds at Tier 3 and can easily be waited out if you need to tunnel that badly.
Here, I think this idea is fair.
Borrowed Time now only activates when the Killer is within X meters of the hook for X seconds.
This stops BT from being used to farm people unsafely but also actually punishes campers who may not have a TR.

@BeardedScrub said:
For this game to be "balanced" most killer mains are asking to be able to kill 4 survivors most matches...
Even if you get 4 kills HALF of your matches and 2 kills your other matches, that averages out to 3 kills per match. That means 3 out of every 4 survivors won't make it!!!
In what world is that "balanced"?
In solo q, I don't know if our squad makes it out alive even 10% of the time. And in a full squad we maybe make it out 20% of the time.
When you get a killer with certain perks and add-ons, like Freddy, Spirit, even the Hag with her traps, these killers can be virtually impossible to beat.
Then we have killer mains on here whining all day because they are getting t-bagged...
If you aren't getting 2 to 4 kills every match (meaning the game is balanced towards killer) then you absolutely suck.
Of course we should nerf DS, and if we keep the game in the state it's in, n I'm okay, but please, if you are going to nerf anything survivor, nerf the traps of the Hag, nerf Freddy or the Spirit.
Yes we have a problem with q times. That's the only reason why they cater so much to killers. They have to or the game won't survive so I'm okay with it. But killers: a successful match isn't 4k or bust, and again, if you aren't getting 2k or more in most matches, you suck, even my friend who's new to the game can play underpowered killers and get 2 kills each match
You have shown a clear bias and a lack of understanding of even the most basic tenants of the game. Yes, at Rank 20, the game IS Killer-sided. At higher Ranks (or high MMR) it is most decidedly NOT.
Killers, like myself, do not want to be handed a 4K every match. We want to feel like we are ABLE to get a 4K if we play well enough. As it stands, if the Survivors play perfect and the Killer plays perfect, the Killer will almost always lose.
The issue is that most Red Rank Survivors belong is Green Ranks or lower. The pip system for Survivor is hilariously easy to "win" with and couple that with SWF, and you have a ton of players in Red Ranks that do not belong there.
Killers, however, have very little to carry them to Red Ranks. Sure, you could argue that Spirit or Freddy will carry you, but that will only get you so far. Even bad to mediocre Survivors can win against a bad Killer at those Ranks. You have to be at least semi-competent to be in Red Ranks as a Killer.
This creates a strange dichotomy where some matches will be incredibly easy, and others will be impossible. Hopefully, MMR will solve this issue, but I'm not so hopeful after the last disaster with MMR.
Point is, take a perfect Survivor squad and a perfect Killer (say a Legion). The Killer will lose, despite not making any mistakes. If you need further examples, I'd be happy to link you stuff with Marth and his SWF.

He is a fantastic killer what do you mean?
Not really. His power is very clunky, at least on Console and he has very little map pressure.
His anti-loop is fine, but he isn't as good as Slinger, Huntress or Hag much less Freddy, Nurse or Spirit.
He's middle of the road, hence, not that good.

Why does he need a nerf?
He isn't even that good.

Why? I can't see any reason that Legion needs to lose his power for M1'ing a Survivor.

No xbox 1 i've had it since it came out basically.
i don't have issues with frames that much and it shouldn't be changed because of frames on console.
It should be taken into consideration, especially considering its likely that most players play on Console. I use the One X and I (and most others) have massive FPS issues.
Additionally, "aim dressing" can screw you over HARD in FF. Giving an extra swing isn't that big of a deal.

during lag spikes yes but those are not common enough to justify legion being mindless with frenzy.
Series X?
I know the FPS issues are fixed there, but I can literally go into my Recently Played list and ask people for clips of their game freezing/dropping frames whenever they use FF.

Here is the thing though, devs are just going to again say that his kill rate is pretty close to even and so they think he is fine, and have no plans to change him further at this time. That is what has been said every time he's come up before.
(This was a bit ago though, before the incident where all of the remaining devs here dipped from the forums and decided to no longer communicate with the playerbase anymore)
I miss the devs.

Removing the power gauge penalty for basic attacks is great! It doesn't really make sense with the current Legion.
I think the 100% power gauge penalty for missing an attack or getting stunned should stay, Feral Frenzy doesn't really have a counter, so I think if a Survivor pulls of something that makes you miss or stuns you, you should get punished for that.
I don't really like the idea of Feral Frenzy being lethal, the Legion should get rewarded for chaining hits, but I think this isn't it.
You actually made a perfect reward, chaining hits gives you smaller Fatigue, that's a great idea! But it should get a cap, at 2 seconds it should stop decreasing.
FF lowers FPS on Console, so it's easy to miss.
Make it takes 50% of the remaining bar, then if you miss again it cancels it.

It's only going to hit people who tunnel and I'm not sorry that you can't use it offensively anymore.

Not even the best. I’m sure if deathsquads play this it’ll be even faster.
They don’t heal or make mistake in chase, and they spread out gens.
Obviously, but I would say most SWF's do not come with Prove Thyself, Streetwise ect ect.
They usually come with DS, DH and BT. I was remarking that adding a Prove Thyself to that mix is dangerous because then you have a lot of second chance perks PLUS a perk that speeds up gens.
-
Definitely a best case scenario SWF, but it does show that even one Prove Thyself is dangerous

That is why I wanted to be very careful with it, do you really think it would be too strong this way? It would punish survivors for trying to greed while in deep wound which most do because they have all the time in the world to mend. With this, the most time they could spend doing a generator for example would be about 9 seconds before the deep wound meter runs out.
No, I don't think this does enough but if you do anything else, it becomes too good.

I mean, normal camping is okay-ish simply because it still gives a slither of chance for survival.
But, BODY camping?
Hell no.
BHVR should implement a system where killers get blinded once they get too close to the hook or is directly face camping it.
You can't implement a system since camping is a normal tactic. They tried once, but it was heavily abused.
Even in games like Overwatch where the penalty for leaving a game is extremely harsh, people still do it just to ruin other people's days. You can't stop that. All you can do is move on.

Sorry, but you can.
3 survivors.
Base gen speed is 80s for one person without items.
If they have 220s, then that's 2 1/2 gens per person.
Overall they have the chance to get around 7 1/2 worth of gens done safely if they are camping.
It is possible.
Whether it is probable, is down to wether you run kindred as a solo survivor as most do. Therefore, if they are being camped then it is possible.
It happened a lot when I've played survivor (lots of people run it in my games) so when I'm playing survivor most gens get done very quickly if they are camping .
I don't camp, so it doesn't occur when I play killer.
That isn't factoring in travel time or people working on gens together.

One has no blank spaces, requires to simply play the game to get it done in ~20 hours of gameplay and gives out a lot of cosmetics for free some of which could be bought with real money otherwise, the other one is Dead by daylight battlepass.
THE SEA OF THIEVES BATTLEPASS IS SO GOOD!
I got it done just by playing the game and the rewards are awesome even for the free track. I've legit considered buying it just because of that.

You guys all speak as if i didn't know that. But it's a team of 4 survivors, and most won't gen rush, even in red ranks.
ATM, red ranks survivors are terrible, they don't know how to play, they don't know the timings, they don't know how to flashlight/pallet saves, they fail skill checks too often and they unhook you in front of the killer without BT.
Play one month exclusively soloQ/duoQ and enjoy the games you will get...

A ton of bugs? Like what? And as stated in the post, his changes only affected people that were bad at him to begin with.
You need only look at various videos of Billy bugs.
Chainsaw randomly stops. Hitting invisible walls. Shadow hits. Overheat for no reason.
I do not play Billy, but I do play a lot of Survivor, I haven't seen him in 6 months.
His changes made him annoying to play. Why does he need an overheat mechanic? It's just another thing to keep track of. Why does he need that stupid scream? Why does he need extra loud chase music?
People wanted his insta-saw nerfed (and rightfully so) but they kinda went too far everywhere else.

So you agree the killer is able to camp this guy till death and that the 5 gens won't be done during this time.
So when is this strategy not viable ?
When the Killer will de-rank since he only got one (maybe two) hooks in the entire match.
If you actually do gens, the Killer WILL de-pip. That means you will not have to play with them anymore, as they will be out of your skill bracket.
-

Because a lot of billys relied on instasaws or were just really bad with him. Now that they cant rely on instas and face camping with a revved saw, they quit playing him. Also the mob mentality of "oh man this dude says hes bad so he must be bad. Hey everyone, hes bad." And it just ripples because sheeple.
That literally isn't true.
Everybody knows Legion is a bottom tier Killer, but he is still played a ton. There might be more Legion's now than before his "rework."
People don't play Billy anymore for the same reason they don't play Nurse. The rework added in things nobody asked for and a ton of bugs.

Do the maths, you are totally wrong but i'm sure you are a killer main :).
If the survivor holds the killer for 100 seconds then got hooked and camped.
Hook total time till death is 120 seconds. So it's a total of 220 seconds.
Now count, how many generators can you do in that time ? 5 BUT only if you are in SWF =).
If they are soloQ survivors, some will try to help, depending the killer, they might even be downed and slugged etc...
So no, camping and tunneling is a cheap mechanics with a high reward when you face soloQ/duoQ teams. Against SWF it's another story but SWF represents only 10% of the games if my memory is correct.
I actually am a 50/50 player. See, my profile picture is Steve, since I am a Steve main :)
You cannot EVER get 5 gens done in 220 seconds, unless you have some serious toolboxes and Prove Thyself and even then, I doubt it.
If you are SoloQ, it isn't hard to see that the Killer is hard camping. If you see the Killer staring down a hooked Survivor, go do a gen, please.
-
@YourNightmare said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2008655#Comment_2008655
You started to be offensive =).
And no, if the survivor stay alive, the killer might still win =).
Hook total time is 120 sec. Let's say the survivor hold the killers for 100 seconds (finding the surv, chasing, hooking) before being hooked, it's then 220 seconds. it's not even 3 generators :).
So there are 2 gens left, the killer will get some chases and even get a kill, especially against soloQ players, he might even get 3k.
So cheap mechanics high reward as SWF represent less than 10% of the games in red rank (if my memory is correct).
How was I offensive? All I did was provide a reasonable argument.
Your math is wrong. One gen (Solo) takes 80 seconds. There are three other people. Even if they all did separate gens, that's three gens done. If the next Survivor can loop for as long as the first, they can finish all 5 gens.
Using your numbers, 100 seconds of chase and 120 on hook does give 220 seconds. Which equals about 3 gens. If the next Survivor (who was on a Solo gen) gets chased for another 100 seconds, they finish the last gen and at the bare minimum, two escape.
This will force the Killer to de-pip at any Rank above Green. In Red Ranks, you would probably end up with a Bronze Devout, Silver Chaser, Silver Maliciousness and Bronze Deviousness.

@YourNightmare said:
So to resume how some ppl think here :
- Survivor suicides on hook while camped are selfish as they don't support their team but a killer camping a survivor and ruining the game for this one without reason is not selfish, it's all good
- If the survivor suicide, it's its own fault but not the camper killer's one
There are moral problems here, i don't know but let's copy paste this in the real world :
- You quit your job and leave your team cause you can't accept to be cornered by your boss anymore, your team will have problem finishing their mission, you are selfish but your boss harassing you till you leave the company is an ok person, anyway it's the rules, he can do whatever he wants
- You suicide at your job because your boss harassed you, it's your own fault but not your boss'
Ye, clearly moral issues here.
I think you are having some trouble with this, so I'll help summarize what people are actually saying.
If a Survivor suicides on hook, they are KNOWINGLY dooming their team if the Killer is facecamping. Facecamping isn't fun, but it isn't a good strat and is easily countered by....not suiciding on hook. The Killer, frankly, is dumb for doing it as most good Survivors will simply gen rush and be done with the game.
If the Survivor suicides on hook, it is ABSOLUTELY their fault. The Killer can't force them to do anything. Even if the Survivor left to get a snack and died when they got to struggle, that would be better than suiciding right off the bat.
The best thing you can do to stop people from facecamping is to stay alive on hook and let your team do gens. The Killer WILL de-pip and de-rank.
CAMPING IS ONLY VIABLE IF SURVIVORS MAKE IT VIABLE. YOU HAVE THE POWER TO FORCE THAT KILLER TO DE-PIP, USE IT!
