And so it begins.
I predicted that this when her PTB went live.
Her nerf only killed her super high-level play, it did very little for the average player and they'll still clamor for nerfs.

What Noed really needs is some indication it's in play. Even if it's in the killer's favour.
For example making it when a survivor cleanses a dull totem they scream and reveal their location. While technically a buff it will remove the surprise factor from the survivors.
That and something to prevent hard campers to get use out of it. Maybe making the expose effect not trigger on survivors who cleansed a dull totem or getting atleast 3 hooks or something
It's far too strong right now.
I'm not seeing it on bad Killers either, really good players are using it in conjunction with slowdown perks.

This is just completely false.
Even if your basing off the assumption NOBODY is doing anything, this doesn't make it a fair argument.
Oh, really?
How many times do you see people going out of their way to cleanse dull totems? Not often.
Most of my Survivor games are down to the wire. MMR seems to be working well for that at least. The Killer usually has 6-7 hooks and maybe a Kill by the time the gens are done. You're going to tell me we could afford to go scour the map for totems on the chance that the Killer might have NOED?
-
@illusion said:
>>"Most Survivor players (especially Solo Q) do not have the time to look and scour the maps for totems. Maps like The Game, Hawkins or Midwich are especially good for hiding totems and it only take one singular dull totem to activate NOED."<<
There are tools to make it easy to find totems, so that is simply not a good excuse. People rather just gen rush and risk it, and NOED is the price. Now with Boon Totems, survivors don't want to cleanse totems. Changing a killer's perk just because survivors don't want to counter it, is not a good reason.
You completely missed my argument.
Solo Q and Duo's do not have that kind of time, especially not with a GUESS that they have NOED.

@Mazoobi said:
I had an idea for it a while back:
"You will devour the last hope for survivors as the entity rewards your skillful hunts.
You receive one token for every survivor you hook while generators remain. When the last generator is completed, if you have at least 7/6/5 tokens, the perk activates and every survivor is exposed for the next 60 seconds."
This change is to only affect those who got enough hooks in (pretty manageable) and remove its HEX aspect so the killer no longer has to worry about totems being cleansed/blessed.
I think that would be fine.

See, I disagree. The Core Issue seems to be that survivors want a chance to counter it (they've had all match to counter it but that's a different argument ;D). Finding out that the killer has NOED without having to get hit gives them exactly that. They have the opportunity now to determine what they should do about the NOED if they didn't spend the time during the game to clear out dem bones.
The issue is that it's totally unreasonable to expect Solo's to get all 5 totems without there even being a guarantee that they have NOED.
It takes 70 seconds at a minimum to cleanse all 5 totems, not accounting for search or travel time. Maybe if you're in a SWF, you can get away with that, but Solo Q gets decimated.
I'd really love to see some stats about how many totems get cleansed on average per match

It would be nice if we had something to look up for this info.
Maybe one of the Mods or Devs will pop in to say something, idk.
I'd genuinely like to know and it isn't something I've seen brought up before.
-
That won't happen.
Every meta perk needs to be gutted and then we need to look at the base-game mechanics.
Power creep has made any perk that can even sniff at being "meta" bonkers busted.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
To me, there is only one change needed to NOED; when the last gen is popped, the "exposed" status effect appears on the survivors right away.
Gives the survivors the chance to realize what's going on without having to get stabbed to find out. They can then choose what to do about it (go totem hunting before trying the gates and hope they don't run into the killer or try to hit the gate and GTFO or something else).
I don't think that's a good change.
That's not addressing the core issue.

In solo it’s probably low but idk how the devs could determine that.
I dunno either, but who knows maybe they have the stats for it.
-
@Nathan13 said:
Just have NOED trigger the moment the final gen is done that way survivors aren’t surprised when they get smacked.
That's really not addressing the issue though.
Yes, the surprise thing is good, but the issue is that the counter straight up doesn't exist in 99% of Solo Q games and it's unreasonable to achieve.
I'd legitimately like to see some stats as to how many times all FIVE totems are cleansed in a match.
-
@Super_J said:
The thing about NOED is if you bring a perk (i.e. Small Game) and take the time to actually find the dull totems then it's useless. Yes this means instead of gen rushing you do some other objectives.
It isn't useless. That's someone who isn't doing any gens for a minimum of 70 seconds.
And again, I'm primarily talking about Solo Q and Duo's. Most games you legitimately cannot afford to not be doing gens during that time.
-
@ElusivePukka said:
I think the simplest fair change to NOED is to make it basekit for all killers. That way there's no surprise, which is the most frustrating part of the perk - survivors will just know they actually have to do bones.
I think a Corrupt in the middle of the match would be a cool idea for a different perk, though. Immediate pick for my Pig, like Plaything was.
If NOED becomes basekit, you need to make gens take less time and I don't think we want that.
Solo Q players are already pressed for time as it is, that's going to boost the number of SWF's by a lot.
-
It's always going to be Legion
-
The same amount of time it will take Legion to be good.
So never.

I more or less agree. The actual speed of the gen is not the inherent reason that gens fly. I feel there are a few different ones and tnat nerfing the speed too much would just make the game even more of a qte simulator for survivors which isn't ideal. I feel they could be increased ever so slightly, but realistically there are other things they could do to address the issue without triggering survivor mains.
The second the size of maps or the number of pallets gets touched Survivor mains are going to explode.
Just like the second that tunneling is touched Killer mains will explode.

Devs probably won't do that since the Killer just has to interact with the totem for a few seconds. I don't think Boons need insane amounts of nerfs, just a few tweaks to prevent spamming and near-total map coverage.
I think they do.
I think every "meta perk" needs to be gutted and then we can look at the base game mechanics.
-
Let's not please.

I disagree. Survivor spawns could be looked at, but I do believe gen speeds are 100% fine.
I'll get on my PC in a second and type out an explanation.
Quick question tho, do you feel that 30 seconds is a short chase?
-
Easiest and most likely change:
"Snuffing a boon will destroy the Totem that was blessed."

There should be some toxicity in the game. It's still a pvp game with competitive elements.

Still bad tho

Rather have the optional cosmetics be expensive and the actual gameplay content cheap then the other way around.

The game and all non-licensed content up to Legion should be free.
Change my mind.

I read that it's from Devotion lvl 1-46
I'll see how long it takes me. I suspect 23-30 hours

Eventually, someone is going to realize that it takes roughly 35 hours of gameplay to get a single character with Shards.
Additionally, the game is $20 on PC. With all of the paid DLC (which you are obviously going to need to get the full experience) it comes out to be about $5 per character. The total price of all of the paid DLC characters is $90 and that brings the total price up to $110 if you want the DLC.
If you want the full experience immediately upon purchasing the game, it will cost $180 for all characters and add the $20 on top and the entire game costs $200.
With needing 35 hours to unlock one character and no guarantee that you'll get your perks, I'm going to say this game is way worse than launch Battlefront II whose FINAL charactes (luke ans vader) needed around that much time to unlock, the majorityof the cast was faster.

Lots of people did. There was just more egregious BS garbage than DH at the time.

Maybe to make people stop crying they could make it so after every blessing it adds more time, first blessing would be 14 seconds, then 15.. 16.. 17.. and so on
We finally have perks that have the potential the shift the meta that has stayed the same for 5 years and people are crying, honestly its expected
The issue is that the meta is so so so so strong that any perk that even challenges it is bonkers busted.
What really needs to happen is that all meta perks need to be nerfed. Ruin, Pop, Corrupt, Dead Hard, BT, Decisive, UB ect ect all get tossed. Then we can start changing the base game and other perks can be viable.

Yeah, I guess because DH is one of the strongest perks in the game that when they saw the "buff", everyone was freaking out, but really it's just supposed to be working as it was intended to from the get go. Although, now it created that same problem it's doing for the killer when the pallet hit validation was brought in.
And yet, even without this change, it was still one of the strongest Survivor perks.
Hopefully this means it's on the chopping block.

It's equally painful when you get hit five or more times because the interaction was handled on the killer's end.
I don't want them to do anything; no game guarantees you will have access to play in perpetuity. They are not entitled to a refund. Do you think laggy killers' have a greater urgency for fairness than others? You're being selfish and entitled here. The server isn't perfect, no such solution exists, but it is the fairest of them all. It's either killer, survivor, or server-based. Killers should no longer have a competitive advantage on any basis.
You're so biased.
You don't even try to think about the other side.
How many times were you ended up Exhausted on the floor? Maybe once every 5 games? How many times do Killers with GOOD ping get pallet validated? 3 times a game?
I have no idea why you are so insistent that Survivors need buffs and that people from certain areas shouldn't be allowed to play the game. Like, yikes dude, not everyone is as privileged as you. Not all of us can afford good Internet or live in an area close to a server.
-
Pain.
-
@Nicholas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2593550#Comment_2593550
Yeah, Killers need more compensation because validating on a dedicated server is so unfair. Let's revolve balance and fairness with people in regions without a server because that makes a lot of sense. Let's also screw over people with good connections because it's so unfair for people that lack them, and those people should suffer so others with latency can continue to have an advantage. Let's make it "fair" for one group at the expense of others is very reasonable.
Yes, when you get 5+ denied hits, it feels a little #########.
You're literally doing the same thing. You want those people who dared to play the game where they live to not be able to actually play. Just say it.
What's your proposed solution for them? Give them a refund?
-
@Nicholas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2593535#Comment_2593535
I have no insight, so I'm not sure why you're asking me. So you're saying killers should be compensated because DH is now handled by the server instead of the killer client? I agree with you about flashlights, but why stop there? Why not have everything validated by the server? Then you'll really have a reason to cry.
Correct.
The perk was obviously good before, so it either needs to be nerfed accordingly or Killers need buffs.
Sure, we can ######### over people in Russia and say they aren't allowed to play the game.
-
@Nicholas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2593515#Comment_2593515
I never said one side should suffer, even though the fact is the survivor side suffers the greatest with respect to latency on hits. With that said, the server is making the determination. So it's the fairest of the three options. Unlike hits which are still handled on the killers end. Since the server is deciding, a survivor who successfully uses DH on their screen may still get struck if the server validates the hit.
So, what's the compensation buff?
Many Killers were already struggling and having a difficult time continuing to play, so, what changes can we expect for Killer?
Maybe they'll validate flashlight saves so that we don't get stunned after we look away.
