This probably will take so much time but i am sure those changes will make DbD better.
I mean, it's been 6 years since the game came out and 4 since I started playing.
I'd like to think they're still cooking something up for facecamping.
-
So, do what I've been saying.
Address base-game issues and nuke the meta.
-
I don't find either role to be very fun.
Killer is far too stressful and is much to taxing.
Survivor depends entirely on how nice the Killer is going to be and how good your teammates are.

I understand that, and that is not what I said.
I specifically used the word “overcomitting” because in my experience that is the only time I have seen 2-3 gens pop and it’s a very rare instance for me. Where I might have wanted that first survivor to drop ‘x amount’ of pallets before I leave them. So shame on ME at that point.
I just think that at some point people on these forums need to wake up and start realizing that it is not just generator speed to be blamed, certainly not in 2022 when there are too many ways to slow them down.
Also for the record, I know you have to down someone at some point, I just think that you have to be smart about who and when you are downing too. I have no video evidence of what transpired during OP’s match, what I do know is that a segment of this forum will find ANY post to continue the same narrative that gen speeds are too fast, simply because they’ve had a bad match.
I think that most of the times, gens are fine.
The issue is that the upper limit of Survivor efficiency isn't fine, that's what people are complaining about.
It IS possible to be that efficient and I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.

Literally nobody has ever said that killers are bots and they don’t deserve to have fun. Thanks for continuing to add to the stigma these forums already have about it being a cesspool for crying killer main players.
Having fun doesn’t mean generators aren't being completed. I play killer and I often win with 1 gen left. Should I start complaining that everyone is dead at 1 gen and not 5?
It’s very rare that an instance like the one described in OP happens unless you are overcomitting to your first chase and get bad map RNG. It happens, but when it does you have to look at the whole spectrum of things taking place. One of them being your own skill or lack there of. Map and perks play a part in it as well.
Can't win without downing someone.
You have to commit at some point.

Then it is a never ending story, DbD will never give fair matches and everyone will leave.
Balancing the game is a must, the frustration is way too high now for killers and solo-Q survivors.
DBD has always been a revolving door of players.
Out of the 15K people playing on Steam when I first played, I'd bet maybe 100 of them still play regularly.

Just play Billy guys, tier B killer, not too strong, not too weak with average mobility/power.
Playing this killer will just show you how broken the game is, you will be able to see all the flaws from DbD, especially map design.
At a good level of skill you will see that you cannot do anything in many occasion, it's not about skill, there will be many situations where you won't be able to use your power and you won't be able to mindgame. You are forced to push the pallet drop.
When there are 15 pallets on the map, it's more than enough for the survivors to do 8 gens, really.
The map layout i posted is just impossible to play on with Billy. Spamming windows is enough for the survivor to never go down, it was literally an infinite impossible to deal with.
I invite everyone to try and play Billy till they reach a MMR high enough to see they cannot do anything anymore.
I mained Legion for like a year.
He's literally the worst Killer (soon, he will not be and I rejoice). The game isn't as beoken as you think.
You will OCCASIONALLY run into a god squad. Very rarely does this happen. Every other match is winnable with the vast majority of Killers I've found.

If I was to offer my improvement, increase the timer as OP suggested but while every gen is blocked, all hex and dull totems become visible for the duration of the perk.
Now gens are blocked, survivors can’t complain they have nothing to do and Killer can try to merge this perk with other perks where they might benefit from survivors working on totems.
Yeah, but that also means Survivors can't progress the game and if it's a Killer like Bubba, that's literally a free facecamp with nothing the Survivors can do about it.

I won't talk about skill here cause i think your gaming palmares is around 0 while mine is better than most of the ppl here but i won't give you the detail but i used to be a pro gamer, so talking about skill, you should not talk about skill, really.
But as every thread about how weak the killers are, you are here spitting your garbage comments without any argument, just to troll. I think you should stop to pollute some thread on this forum, especially when you have just posted this :

also its a meme :( neither me nor @ThatOneDemoPlayer were serious
-
A while ago there was a bug with Spirit Fury+Enduring that allowed you to just walk through the pallet basically.
I saw it a lot when I played Demo. Charge up a Shred, go to pallet, pallet breaks on head, no stun.
-
Neither?
The last three Killers have been pretty unimpressive.
Pinhead is weak and the NFT thing will forever taint his image. Artist is exceedingly unfun to play as and against. Sadako is inspired but pitifully weak.
The last three maps have also been horrid.
Eyrie of Crows is a nightmare. RPD is literally the worst map on the game. I still see people mass DC when they get it, Survivors and Killers alike. Midwich is hold W city and is also a bad map, just not to the level of RPD or Eyrie.
-
It's one of the worst things the game has to offer.
Nothing can be changed about it either, which is even more fantastic

Actually it would make sense to at least have one of those test days be just like that so that you can compare the results to the actual tests.
I'm pretty sure there were two, but I know there was at least one day where nothing changed.
-
I really don't know why you'd play Killer except to avoid Solo Q.

I dont mind if perks are stupidly strong for a little bit as long as they dont take the same ammount of time to nerf or balance them like circle of healing
its not a bad thing to test extreme ideas
Well, this goes back to BHVR being extremely slow at updating.
I wouldn't be so upset about the lackluster Ghostface changes if it meant he'd be buffed soon.
Adjusting 1.5 Killers per patch and changing 5 perks per patch was great in 2018 when I started playing, but the game is WAY too big now.
-
Because they can't seem to differentiate between perks that will be brokenly strong and perks that won't.
Ie, nerfing Coup de Grace in the PTB but Circle of Healing made it through and is still crazy 6 months later.

Why is it always assumed that Killers take time to find the Survivors, etc. but at the same time, it is assumed that Survivors spawn on a Gen and start immediatly working on it? Often enough it is pretended that they do this on 3 separate Gens at the same time...
Because map geometry dictates that Survivors usually (not always) spawn very close to gens.
If there is any travel time, it's less than 5 seconds. Now, Corrupt can add more time to that. Certain Killers can too, Pig's auto-traps for example.

I feel like BHVR have been attempting to push survivors away from gens lately though. We got Pinhead with his cube objective, Artist who can drive survivors off gens from across the map, Onryo with her video tape objective (I would not be surprised if they buff her condemned soon). Perks lately like SH:PR, CoB, Merciless Storm, and the DMS buff, etc, all designed to drive survivors off gens. I do feel like they're trying.
Yes, they are.
However, Pinhead is still pitifully weak, but I guess it was their first attempt.
Artist's long range abilities are pretty bad.
Onryo's Condemned, like you alluded to, is not very threatening.

That's sums it up neatly.
Slowing down the speed of a gen is not an acceptable solution. It's already very boring as it is.
It seems they already have tried to give another objective with the boons. (Yes, they gave more work to the killer instead : whoops)
Changing the map sizes seems to be the next step but boons are also even more powerful on smaller maps.
I'm not sure there is an easy way out of this. (Make boons breakable, reduce map size?)
I wonder : most killers with experience have dealt with this for a while now. If the pressure is removed, it may end up being a bloodbath.
It would be a bloodbath if gens were actually slowed via any means.
That's why any changes to camping and tunneling MUST come with the update that slows the game down. They can't come before, else Killers will be in an even worse spot and they most certainly cannot come after due to the aforementioned bloodbath.
-
I don't see why it shouldn't.
-
I think the audio occlusion is being weird on The Game again because you can barely hear Boons.

Which is why slugging a survivor to immediately chase someone else for a second down rather than immediately hooking can be effective. You shave off that 10 second carry time to get into that next chase faster which pressures another person off the gen 10 seconds faster, plus also indirectly pressures a third survivor to go heal the slugged one. Being in that situation gives you a lot more time to collect the hook at that point.
Of course, you take a bet that they don't have UB or CoH to remove your pressure instantly.

I highly doubt it takes 15 seconds to find a single survivor at the start of the match. That's just total bad luck or simply untrue.
Survivors sprint most of the time when a match begins and unless the map is massive or is full of small rooms like RPD, it is likely you'll find one in less than 10 seconds.
Also, if it takes a total of 50 seconds to hook a survivor, then you're just plain bad. I'm sorry. I mean, it takes you 10 SECONDS to get to a hook and another 10 Seconds to go to a gen? Unless you're playing Nurse without using her powers, no killer will take that long.
For me, in most cases, I win the game with a 4K with 2 gens remaining. That's the average it takes for me to get a 4K. The less gens remain, the higher the rates of no one escaping. That's because I get to kill one or two survivors within the first 3 gens and the rest are easy to track down.
I get that chases are though becuz of second chance perks like Dead Hard, but gen speed has nothing to do with a killer's proficiency at chasing a survivor...
Sorry, you just sound like those people who say, "I 4K at 5 gens with no slowdown using Trapper, you're just bad lol"
-
@Vakka said:
You have perks like Pain resonance and Deadlock that help you prevent gen progress right? Not to mention everyone's favorite hex perk, Ruin and Undying combo.
I get that you need to chase in order to down a survivor, but if you're spending that long chasing a single survivor while the others are doing gens, that's more of a personal proficiency issue rather than a balance one...
If you take 15 seconds to find a Survivor, 10 seconds to get a hit, 30 seconds to down, another 10 to hook and then another 10 to get to a gen, that's literally 2.99 gens popping.
It doesn't matter if you down quickly. Even an absurdly short chase of 30 seconds will still cost you a gen.
-
I've always been in support of a second Survivor objective.
Few people enjoy sitting on gens and Killers don't enjoy seeing gens pop quickly.
-
It basically is yeah

If you are at devotion 22 and can't hit a DS skill check frankly I'm not sure what can be done to help you. Whether it's your innate or lack thereof gaming talent, your hardware, or the struggle stick welded to your hand, something is unarguably going wrong with you.
Someone hasn't played on Xbox One, PS4 or Switch where anything and everything causes the game to freeze.

cant you simplify that process for any killer tho?
nurse: warp across map get immediate down
Pig: lose
Trapper: trap and down
nemesis: run from zom boys
and on and on?
Sure, but that's her entire counterplay. You can't really loop a good Artist.
She places a bird correctly in a loop, you need to run to the next tile.
She snipes you on a gen from across the map? You need to hop in a locker to kill the birds.
Her entire kit promotes an extremely boring game for both sides.

Pimento says hello. tho of course not everyone would have that perk
You don't get your Ruin back when it's cleansed.
When you snuff a CoH, Survivors can just put it back up.
-
No, I don't think it really needs a skill check.
-
I'd rather it go back to a 100% healing speed bonus and not be able to continue to be replaced every time it gets snuffed.
-
Put Bird at loop, watch Survivor hold W, repeat.
Snipe someone on a gen, watch them jump in a locker to instantly remove Bird, repeat.
-
He's pretty bad.
His Chain Hunt is extremely inconsistent, as are his Chain spawns. His actual in-chase power is just a worse version of Clown's bottles.

What do you mean by that if you don't mind me asking?
My health continues to fail me. I can't really eat without being sick, I can barely sleep, I had one organ quit, another is well on its way, I get horrible migraines and I just found out I have a heart problem too.
Sooner or later, something important is going to quit on me. It'd be a modern miracle if my health improves.
