Hmmmm, let's not do that.
-
Unlike with Huntress or Deathslinger, you can't really outplay his power.
-
I do wonder when people will stop highlighting that specific part of the Dev Update.
It's really quite silly and paints your argument in a poor light by excluding relevant information.

Mate, it's not a religion, it's a scientifically proven fact
There are those of us with doubts and we must be kind to them and help them see the light.

I think they could just make it viewable to the individual.
Which again, is gonna encourage a lot of gatekeeping over opinions. That's never something you want to encourage.
I'd like to see my MMR, if only for my own personal satisfaction, but I know where my Killer skill is and I know where my Survivor skill is.
My Killer self would have a ######### field day meme'ing on my Survivor self.
-
I'm being generous for those of us who may be recent converts to the anti-DH religion.
-
I kinda thought we all agreed (in some way or another) that DH is a bit over-tuned for the game as it is now.
-
Yeah, I tried to pick up a Survivor and I got pallet-stunned and it scared the ######### out of me.
-
Probably not. You should be able to get a very vague and general sense of how much you've improved.
I'd like to see my own skill, but with how gatekeep-y this community can be (myself included) I do see why BHVR doesn't want to make that info readily available.
Not saying I necessarily agree, just that I see their point.
-
My SWF and I noticed our queue times were much better.
Only around 5 minutes tonight, which was nice. Some of our games lasted longer than our queues!
-
All it proves is that Solo Q needs help.

Legion never was the worst
He was far and away the worst.
He's still bad fundamentally, but his kit and add-ons are better.
Ghostface kinda got shafted this update.

@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
People can finally stop calling Legion the worst Killer and focus on buffing the actual worst Killer, Trapper
Legion isn't the worst after this.

I don't play Legion much. Does Franklin's Demise work on the M1 while in Feral Frenzy?? o.O
It used to but not anymore.

Not calling you "survivor main" and that's not a respond to any criticism lmao. Just saying that survivor mains may not like my proposals. I don't know what do you main or not, dude. Feel free to tell what you main if you want :)). Also, calm down man, no need to be that salty in the forum. My disclaimer above was meant to avoid reactions like yours. Just accept there are different opinions and point of views of this game. Peace :).
You're allowed any opinion you want.
I'm allowed to point out bad ideas.
-
Thank God Legion's M1 drain was removed.
Frank's is still bad. Julie's might actually be good. Stolen sketchbook is bad. Stab Wound Study is good. BFF's is still weird but I like the design. Etched Ruler is...eh.
-
...neither?

It's precisely in highest levels where "Genrush" hits hard, and it's also in high levels where strong loops become "Infinite". I already cleared up that some people wouldn't like it (mostly survivor mains), so you are the perfect example of my initial disclaimer :). Don't worry man, these ideas are just invention of mine, nothing is cannon xD.
Yeah, calling people who disagree with you "Survivor mains" is a great way to show how well you respond to criticism.
Nobody cares about 3 or 4 Survivors stacking on a gen because it's inefficient. That's not genrush and the fact that you don't realize it makes it pretty clear that you aren't playing at a high level. Real genrushing is when 4 Survivors split onto 4 different gens, not when they all stack on one.
Likewise, there are no infinites. There are crazy set-ups, there are places you shouldn't chase but there aren't infinites.
-
Considering the fact that you cite "genrush prevention" and then actually encourage it by forcing people to spread out 1 to a gen, I don't think you are actually playing at a high level.
Also because you cite "infinite loops" of which there are approximately zero in the game.
There are a lot of really bad ideas in here. Trickster 4.6 m/s being one of them.

You also know that this game may not be for everyone right? Mechanically it is a different kind of game. Elden Ring is dropping numbers also but that don't mean it is still not played by a lot of people!
Elden Ring isn't a live service game.
It really seems like you're grasping at straws.

There was a recent article about how there are two million daily logins into DBD between all the platforms. Over fifty million total users.
On steam the numbers are reducing. But as others mentioned, its really just reducing from a recent all time high.
Which isn't exactly good.
DBD has managed to keep ZERO players from Resident Evil, The Ring and Hellraiser, all very important licenses.
That's terrible.

Say it with me here.....Steam. Is. Not. The. Only. Platform. Plus it will pick up when new DLC releases like always.
It's the only info we have.
All you're doing is telling us to not think logically and simply assume the game is fine elsewhere, despite the fact that the game performs significantly WORSE performance-wise on consoles
-
I don't understand why so many people are so resistant to see NOED be changed and likely get buffed.
-
He is simultaneously incredibly unfair to both sides.
Solo's are going to be in for a bad time against Pinhead's but Pinhead will be in for a bad time against SWF's
-
I would say it gets better but it doesn't.
At best, people tell you to ignore it.
The only thing you can do is protect yourself. If it's too much, it's too much, ya know?

well said
i was just discussing the same thing with a survivor main but you know how it ends up
tbh in my opinion noed is SUPER weak as you said no use early-no use mid game- and when they powered up the gens (that they genrush)
they go for the gates now let's imagine 5 survivors who finished their genrushing and they're going for the gate to twerk and make fun of you
so there are 2 gates you don't know which one to go any of them you go to boom the other gets opened and you get called noob or noed user or many more funny stuff
if anyone complains about noed it means they don't have any idea how to play the game or they just wanna cry cuz a pro killer finished them off
If NOED is weak, we can change it into a new perk to be more impactful.
Everyone wins.

Sure, but they did eventually nerf it, along with a lot of other things like keys and moris and a bunch of other things that came on long after NOED complaints have been around. If NOED was that bad it would have been higher in the pipeline than, say, Iri Head or Pinky Finger, etc.
Dead Hard still exists.
My point is that just because it hasn't been addressed yet doesn't mean it isn't an issue.
BHVR usually moves very slowly.

But which is it? You said earlier its a perk that carries bad killers but at the same time you can clear all 5 bones vs bad killers....so which is it? Cause people being inconsistent with their complaints about this perk don't make any sense.
Either its a perk that carries noobs and you can easily do bones vs noobs.
Or its a perk that doesn't carry good killers and you can't do bones vs good killers.
^ Which is it....
I'll tell you what it is. Its an excuse people give for being salty about getting hemmed up by an end game expose....An expose which btw is overshadowed by actual threats at end game like ranchor which will not only expose you but kill you. So people feel salty that as soon as NoED activates they instantly lose a health state....WHO CARES??!?!
You literally have a dozen ways to escape and get second chances as well as extra health states after an exposed KD anyway. You can DH, you can BT, you can MoM, you can unbreakable, you can counterforce, you can deliverance, you can detectives hunch, you can boon and prevent hex activation to begin with, you can run small game, you can run wake up and just open the gate and leave like you had jet boots, and thats not even touching the other perks and mechanics that can prevent you from even reaching a hook to begin with along with sabos and flip flops. So, thats perks that let you find totems, disable totems, turn the totems to your own side, prevent KD's, get you back up from a KD, destroy hooks, get you out of a carry to a hook, give you an extra health state that ignores exposed, What else do you need?!?!
No seriously what else do yall need? How much more hand holding is needed to get over 1 perk which on a good day will grant you 1 kill? Serious question.
I actually specified average players, as I am an average Survivor myself.
Also, man really said to use METTLE OF MAN as a counter to NOED. The reach.
-
Uh, I had a VERY long Survivor queue last night and a 5 minute Killer queue.
So I'm generally unhappy when my matches are very sweaty and are shorter than my queue times.

That's not a great way to promote a discussion, let alone a way to come up with meaningful solutions.
You have to give us something to work with.

I’m skeptical about claims of NOED being overpowered because if it were actually that broken we probably would have seen stats showing correlations between NOED and higher kill rates than other perks provide. It’s one of the most complained about perks on the forums and yet I have never seen data showing it’s better than, say, Haunted Grounds which nobody complains about. Most of the complaints instead seem to be things like “it’s not fun to go against” or “it rewards bad play” or things like that which are just subjective playstyle preferences. That and the common misconception that “if the gens got done the killer was bad” when in reality the game is intentionally designed so that if the survivors play as well as the killer the median result is 1-3 kills with the gates open. Gens being done is supposed to be the norm, not the exception, when the survivors play well.
So yeah, I’m pretty sure if NOED was really correlated with high kill rates it would have been called out by the devs by now.
Alternatively, it took BHVR 5 years to do anything about Iri Head despite it being blatantly overpowered.
-
I wonder when it starts.

@Tanadris said:
As a Killer you have to anticipate everything coming. Survivors usually have the luxury of anticipating what is coming once they have enough information.
NOED bypasses this anticipation/information stream and causes cognitive dissonance for Survivors. Cognitive dissonance is mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes. Most survivors believe they are safe when 5 gens are done. When cognitive dissonance occurs, the most common reaction is frustration followed by anger. When situations go a direction we do not anticipate, we get confused, then frustrated, then mad.
This is the heart of NOED hate. A lot of survivors do not believe it is in their game, and when the reality hits, they get salty.
This is my advice for everyone playing: If you anticipate every scenario, you won't ever get disappointed when they happen.
Disagree.
Even if I know I'm about to go against a 4 DH, CoH, UB, DS ect squad, the knowledge alone doesn't convince me that the situation I find myself in is fair nor will it stop me from feeling frustrated.
Even if something is strong, if it has reasonable and achievable counterplay, people are less likely to be so upset. It's why DH and NOED have ALWAYS been such hot topics. Their counterplay just isn't reasonable against even average players.
I'm sure cognitive dissonance does play a role, but I highly doubt it's the main contributing factor.

Destroying all 5 totems is usually not something I can do unless I use small game because I usually think eh my teammates do totems
They do not.
I used Small Game for 300 games to see how many totems on average were broken.
It's like two. Even when I was totem warrior'ing, it was VERY difficult to get all 5, with most of the 5 totem games coming against bad Killers.
-
It's a poorly designed perk, in the same vein as DH.
The oft told counterplay of "just wait of DH 4head" is of the same vein as "just do bones 4head".
Neither counterplay is reasonably achievable against normal players and especially not against good players.
Much like with DH, NOED can boost very average players or it can make very good players nigh unbeatable in the right circumstances.
To clarify, I don't necessarily want it nerfed, but I do want it changed.
-
Oh God I just had a 5 minute Killer queue and we had a really long Survivor queue last night.
Idk if I can keep playing, even with my friends. It's just not fun to sit in a queue 3x longer than the match itself.
-
Then I continue as planned.
-
So, the question is, will I be able to actually play the game as Killer and Solo Q Survivor?
I don't much enjoy feeling stressed out of my mind as Killer, nor do I enjoy being tunneled/face camped as Survivor.

OH! You mean on the Killer's side! Okay, I get you now. I thought you meant for the Survivor. I know controller people already get screwed there by having some buttons shared (like Chain Break and Throw Pallet).
Oh, yes, on the Killer side.
I think most of us are capable of either rolling the sticks or hitting wiggle checks.
...although with some of my teammates it does make me wonder

Legit question: how does Boil Over interact with controllers? I'm confused here.
It can be very difficult to control.
Bad enough that it can be practically impossible to hook people on certain maps due to the wiggle increase. BHVR has responded to this by reducing the wiggle sway bonus on Boil Over, which is very much appreciated.
-
It's allowed.
-
So screw over people using controllers again?

I know it's still gen regression, but that doesn't change that it's been nerfed. Pop nerfed. Discordance nerfed. Undying nerfed (mostly used for Ruin). Even Surveillance nerfed.
Undying could be absolutely ridiculous.

It's pretty bad until you break the walls.
After that its Killer-sided

The killer meta's already been nerfed.
Not really.
It's still gen regression and it will be until base game mechanics are changed.

@ThiccBudhha said:

If you nerf both sides, the change is negligible, no? I mean, overall, cherrypicking hated perks from both sides would be plausible, but I do not think it would change the cycle of hate, per se.
I forgot to add the last part.
-
That is the vicious cycle of DBD.
People play nice, get ######### on for it and then stomp some players playing nice, who then do the same to other people.
Nerf the meta on both sides, then adjust base-game mechanics.
