Competitive when I played Killer.
Very casual Survivor.
-
It's definitely pay to play.
75% of content is locked behind outrageous grind for Shards and a second outrageous grind for BP.

That sounds freaking awesome! I have to admit though... Just reading that amount of passion put into a single Killer.
That mind set does not = BHVR...xD
There was so much cool stuff they could have done with Demo and I was disappointed in the final design.

Are you high MMR?
As Survivor? I'd better not be.

@KerJuice said:
I consider myself to be in mid MMR- maybe even low-mid MMR, but I RARELY get slugged. Yet I see threads pop up often about slugging. Is this a HIGH MMR issue?? Can someone confirm? Me getting slugged is so rare that I have to find a new build for Bill (anti-slug build) because whenever I play with him, I get no value. It literally feels like I’m playing with no perks.
Or is this a region thing if it’s not in high MMR?? I play on NA servers…
Nurse. Midwich offering.
That's how I've been 4 man slugged til bleed-out recently.

It works fine for me.
Maybe check your connection?

Yes, I very quickly decides that effort was no longer profitable

Ahhhh ok. I got confused by. I never knew that. Thnx.
It did take me about 50 minutes to find a match with cross-platform off on series x

How is dead harding for distance any different then, lithe, sprint burst, or balanced landing. They all grant 150% speed for 3 seconds, which if I am doing my math right is a ~5m distance gain on the killer (4m/s * 150% = 6m/s for 3 seconds = 18 meters of distance traveled, killer travels 4.6*3 - 13.8 m or 4.4*3=13.2 m depending on running speed).
After dead hard do all these other perks need to get nerfed next?
Of course, perks should grant the user of the perk an advantage when used?
If they SB, I can choose not to engage them and wait for a better moment.
DH turns a 15 second chase into a 45 second chase.
It would seem that you aren't seeing the immense value of it. Try to play against some good Survivors who use DH to extend loops instead of bashing their faces into walls.

Exactly the point. If survivor perks are nerfed further, it doesn't change the fact that the killers can still easily 3k or 4k for most of the spectrum of MMR by playing "dirty". The face camping someone to death as a strategy needs to die. It is fun for no one in a match, it is just highly effective and so gets overused. Tunnelling someone out 30 seconds into a match is also poor form, even if it was a survivor missplay and the victim was farmed. Do you think the guy that got deleted had fun?
These streaks people sight as important data only exist at the extremes of killer or survivor skill, and I'd wager represent less than 0.01% of the playerbase. That small percentage of people do not keep the lights on at behavior. Removing tools for either side for fun engaging chases, is NOT an answer.
Finally, dead hard is not a problem, I'm a midling killer at best( i play doctor and billy fyi) and you know what I do, I wait an extra 2 seconds in chase to bait out the dead hard and then down them. This is not rocket science and really, if a survivor BEATS me with a dead hard play, good for them. They used skill and did something cool. Because just pressing 'e' does not equal win. Maybe, the only nerf I could see be applied would be preventing its use to jump over a trap. Maybe.
Yeah, nobody complains about DH when the Survivors are bad.
It's when Survivors aren't bad that it becomes an issue.

Funny thing is that solo que survivors still get 4ked despite perks as strong as CoH, not only that but the amount of time wasted blessing a boon and subsequently having even the most competent killer chain snuff them out back to back to back results in almost a detrimental perk. Boons are hilariously easy to deal with, you can literally hear them as far as survivors can and then walk over and snuff it out, it's never going to get value as long as the killer knows exactly where you're blessing them at which is a one time discovery.
Here's the real question, how can we give solo que players in lower ranks, probably 90% of the player base, the tools to not get tunneled or proxy camped out of the match leading to a ######### tier gaming experience? Borrowed Time? Decisive Strike? The only tools available buy you a few seconds only to get tunneled or camped again. Who cares if the whole team can heal when killers are just tunneling and camping more than half of all matches and going uncontested because the devs decided that they should be able to do that without recourse?
You can't balance camping and tunneling until you balance Survivors.
You have to change them at the same time.

Survivor is still just as easy as it's always been.

Seems like BHVR listened. I didnt play DBD for nearly a year and came back two weeks ago. The difference is noticeable. Much more smooth now.
Room for improvement though.
If my Xbox One hadn't finally died, I would test it for myself.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty much ######### out of luck in that department.
I'm glad the experience seems to be better for you. Can you post some clips and can anyone else confirm?

I am actually very curious to hear your opinion on what they should've done with Demo doggy? How would you have made him? I like the portal idea tbh.
I would've made him very different.
Make the Upside-Down like Freddy's Dream World. Demogorgon can still interact with Survivors in the Right-Side Up, but he can chose to pull Survivors into the Upside-Down where he will be unable to interact with them until he also goes into the Upside-Down. In the Upside-Down, Survivors suffer from a moderate (5-10%) action speed penalty and are periodically revealed by Killer Instinct. There are two large Rifts in the map that act as Gateways between the Right-Side Up and Upside-Down. Survivors can use these to escape from the Upside-Down, they can also use Demogorgon's own Portals as an escape OR can have another Survivor let them out by standing in the same spot and performing an action. While the Demogorgon is in the Upside-Down, he is Undetectable.
The Portals act as corruptions in the Entity's Realm, some other entity is seeping power into the map. These Portals expand over time and corrupt the surrounding parts of the map up to X meters.
Once per game, the Demogorgon can send a generator to the Upside-Down. It will cease to exist in the Right-Side Up and can only be completed in the Upside-Down, but if it is, it opens a Portal to the Right-Side Up.
You can still use Portals to teleport or you can choose to head to the Upside-Down. Debating on nerfing Shred or just nixing it.

I like Steve and Nancy.
But Demogorgon was shafted when it came to his design. He's extremely bland and he could've been so much more.

I mean how long did it take to get some decent reworks for killers? I think pursuing a license would only open the possibility for improvements down the line. I'd rather leave room for improvement or even possibly a new killer (who knows?) than to shut it all down.
They already said that they can still make balance changes for him and his perks.
-
It's unlikely.
I was pretty disappointed in Demogorgon so idk if I want it back

Few people want to play Killer on Console, here's why:
The controller settings are non-existent.
FPS drops.
Boil Over.
No NVIDIA filters which means the game is extremely dark.
Auto-aim and PC Survivors spinning too quickly.
Sensitivity is too low for some Killers, ie, Blight.
Inability to flick with Killers like Nemesis, Blight and Nurse.
I'm sure other people can name more reasons.
-
Oh goodie, more us vs them.

True facts. The people I know that have jailbreaked their PS5s and Xbox X-whatevers really just do it for things like using free cam to find weird things, so just no harm no foul offline stuff
Yes.
I think if you use it for offline things, it's less likely to draw attention to yourself.

Evade """anti-cheat""". EAC is really not so different from having literally no anti-cheat. Jailbroken consoles aren't really all that uncommon, just no one talks about them since the only people that do it are electrical engineers that want to play SNES cartridges on a PS2 or something monka like that lol
Supposedly, BHVR's anti-cheat banned a LOT of people recently.
Likewise, Sony and MS will absolutely care if you jailbreak their newer systems.

Yet they won didn't they. I have faced much tougher and smashed them.
The fact they coordinated like that plus had a map with tall grass everywhere gave them a win.
Are they not nerfing boil over? So must be OP in some scenarios.
They are nerfing Boil Over because it's extremely difficult to control on console.
If you got a 1K against a Boil Over squad who was meme'ing, it was probably on you. However, without seeing the match, I couldn't say.
-
It's not really OP. They aren't playing to win, they're playing to annoy you.
So, OP? No. Annoying as #########? Yes.

People make fun of me for talking about console hackers, but hacking on console has been a thing since online gaming has been a thing. Save editing is the easiest thing to do, but more complex hacks that involved external software or plugins are far from unheard of
Yes, except not only do you need to evade BHVR's anti-cheat, you also need to worry about Sony and Microsoft who will NOT like you messing with their console.

The only time Circle of Healing is better than Self-Care, speed-wise, is if Circle of Healing is within 2 seconds walk of the aura and a generator, lol. It's a horrible perk now. If you are more than 3 seconds away from the Circle of Healing aura, you're better off using Self Care.
That's assuming nobody ever heals you.
This just feels like another case of when DS was nerfed. Everyone freaked out and said it was useless and nobody used it for two weeks. Then, once everyone got over the initial hysteria, it went right back on everyone's build because it wasn't actually that bad.

Yeah, but they count the number of people playing. If an account got zap this month the chart won't refect that player loss until next month.
The 30 day average updates every day, it would seem.

I'll admit, I expected them to deny my accusations but they openly admitted to it. They were probably being subtle throughout the match but at the end, they pretty much showed me that it was impossible to do anything to them.
You took a video to report them, right?

Exactly! I never like to outright accuse anyone of cheating but sometimes it's so obvious. Just a few weeks ago I had two Meg's and Zarina's that all DC'ed because I countered all of their cheats. They were all on PSN but from the looks of things, they were new to the cheating world. They had no add-ons and all of them had Boil Over when I went to pick them up. Fast forward to end-game, none of their perks equipped were Boil Over or anything even remotely similar to what I encountered in-game.
As for my match yesterday, people were insta-recovering from crawling with no active boons or anything that should have allowed for that. At first I thought it was "For the People" since they did have that perk but if that were the case, at least two of the four survivors should have automatically gone into "Broken" status which never happened.
I have played this game for thousands of hours. Moet of those spent on crossplay off. Everytime I have seen someone accuse someone else of being a cheater on crossplay off, they were either salty or didn't understand a mechanic.
I have never ever seen someone use cheats from a console. I have seen people lagswitch, abuse bugs, hold me hostage ect. I have never seen someone do what you are describing.
You are either mistaken or incredibly unlucky to find the one group who decided to go through the arduous task of getting cheats on their system.
-
I expect it to go the way of 60 FPS on Console.
It'll happen 3+years after its announced.
-
Glad they hit the subtle cheaters.
-
Yes.
-
Dying? Yeah.
Anywhere close to dead? No.
-
Nemesis and Blight.
My own fault really. I pushed them as far as I could.
-
They shouldn't have brought back old Omega-Blink.
Nobody asked for it. Nobody needed it. Nurse was strong enough.
-
Crossplay off doesn't stop cheaters from PC from getting into your lobby.
-
Pop Goes the Weasel, Dead Man's Switch, Pain Resonance, Deadlock, Call of Brine
-
The secret is that DBD has always been bad.

Here's the weird thing: this problem went away entirely on day 3 of the MMR test. At least, it did for me. Queues were instant for me on survivor at peak hours and my teammates were consistent with my experience level and skill level. I was already friends with a lot of them from my comp days. And my killer games were HARD and I had to wait in queue for a minute for two, whereas I can normally sleepwalk through killer games every night and get instant queues.
So I'm not convinced there's a population distribution issue as much as there's an implementation issue. We know there's a softcap where people are rounded down, but are they also maybe rounding people up on the low end? Then you get scenarios where the MMR between the highest and lowest players is too close together coupled with widening acceptable MMR ranges as queues get longer. It's not inconceivable that a brand new player would go against a 3k hr player in that scenario.
You see, I had the opposite experience on Day 3.
Horrifically difficult Survivor games with pretty incompetent teammates against Blight/Nurse sweatlords but my queues were LONG.
Killer games were pretty fast, but longer than normal. Maybe 30 seconds? They were also against extremely sweaty people and were extremely unfun, even when I won.

Booning + healing is already longer than self care now, but just barely.
Assuming you actually put your Boon in an intelligent spot, you're still almost always going to get mega value even with the newest nerf.

well compared to an infinite medkit for the entire team, it is still fairly niche and during some matches it is just not worth wasting your time for a funny haha no scratchmark area
Okay, but compared to CoH pretty much everything except DH or DS is niche

@jesterkind said:
They don't allow it, they're having a hard time preventing it. There's a difference between those two things.
Regardless, as someone else said, it's because the system prioritises speed a little too much in certain situations.
Small issue though with that. It doesn't prioritize speeds " a little".
This isn't a case of, "Oh, well, they probably shouldn't have been in this game, but they weren't too far off." This is very clearly a new player playing against someone with thousands of hours.
This means that there is a HUGE issue with player distribution. If players who have thousands of hours are sitting in 10 minute queues to play against brand new Killers, that means there's a shortage of Killers who play at said skill level.

It probably got added the same way old MoM and old Legion were added.

I've noticed no particular difference in quality of survivor team mates during or off peak, with the exception being that i see more swf at night.
I'll take the predictable unpredictability of solo q if it means I get 30 second Qs. I'm kind of over waiting 10 minutes just to get grabbed by a GF and get basemented 😅
Mfw we get another Starstruck, Agitation, PR DMS Nurse after a 10 minute queue
-
This isn't a very good argument.

Overwatch, Elden Ring, Crusader Kings 3, Dark Souls 2, Sekiro ext

A nerf or a rework yeah.
