Nemesis.
Every once in a while I get the urge to play him and I am swiftly reminded why I do not.

The root cause is people thinking that 100% of their games should be fun, and that it’s ok to ragequit if they aren’t having fun.
That should never be acceptable thinking in a group PvP game. How well would this game work if killers decided to ragequit at the same frequency that survivors ragequit? So whenever survivors are doing well, the killer just closes the game?
In my experience, they do quit at the same rate that Survivors do.
Likewise, I'd argue that MOST DBD matches are unfun for someone. Someone usually ends up being camped, tunneled, slugged or Gen rushed in almost all of my matches.
If someone gets unlucky and has that happen 3 or 4 times in a row, I can't blame them for wanting out.

The cause is "people who are happy to ruin the game for four other strangers."
The solution is to remove them from your game.
No, it really isn't.
The root cause is that having fun in this game is FAR too dependent on other players deciding to allow it.
If the Killer wants you to have a miserable time, there's not much you can do about it.
If the Survivors want you to have an awful time, there's not much you can do about it.
After a certain number of those games (which aren't uncommon) I struggle to fault people for deciding to call it quits.

Why not just get rid of self unhooking unless you have deliverance. Rework slippery meat and luck offerings. Increase DC penalties to 15 minutes base
Okay and then what?
People will just AFK.
Srop treating the symptoms, treat the cause.

Banning the DC players for intolerably long periods is the only way you're going to get people to stop.
A few hours or a couple days is clearly not enough.
Yes let's hardware ban them

I'd like an option to forfeit.
Count it as a 4K and give the Killer 15K BP. Let me go next.
-
Don't worry, that's normal.
It's easily the worst map in the game and should be removed.

Camping and tunneling isn’t toxic. There a (weak/boring) strategy. That’s all
Camping and tunneling are some of the strongest strategies a Killer can employ.

What does this have to do with dcs. Camping isn’t that big of a deal and doesn’t happen constantly- in games I play. Dcs happen CONSTANTLY
I don't condone people DC'ing but it's hard to blame them in some scenarios.
Also, camping happens pretty often in my matches. Not every match, but it's usually about equal to the amount of impactful DC's.
-
"Killer camps = you do gens."
This isn't entirely accurate anymore. Due to gen time increases, it is much harder to do gens if the Killer is camping. Borderline impossible to escape if they get an early down.

OK, do something against a nurse there
Honestly, if a map is strong enough to deal with Nurse there's a big ######### issue
-
There's like 30 safe pallets and the busted main building.
If you can't do something with that, it's not the game's fault. It's stacked things very far into your favor.

There is not much to discuss. Whining in an endgame chat is immature and insulting someone over some invented rules is inappropriate. I am not argumenting further something that should be common sense.
I already made my point clear several times : Camping/Slugging/Tunneling is not enough to guarantee a win -> it's not the reason why you loose. You loose because you were not good enough -> gitgud (BOTH SIDES).
I understand that being camped or tunneled might not be extremely fun (when you loose) but it's not fun to loose as killer as well. 4 people, 16 perks, 4 items, 1 map works like this:
IF these players are good enough, they WILL ESCAPE. And you as a killer are put in a disadvantage (meta wise). There are very few killers with an extremely high mobility that can keep up or eventually start with an overall advantage (pretty much, only the Nurse). To keep up with that, you need either to be an extremely good killer (more skill than the survivors required), or you will resort to tunnel/camp in some (some!) moments of the game. Because of the game design.
And because it is the own game rules, there are perks and way to use these actions against the killer.
A 2-3 man escape IS a win for survivors, not a draw.
Add that bad killers get matchmaked with surivovrs that have 10 times their hours, and you get why so many people tunnel and camp to have a chance. Which I do not defend as a playstyle. I agree it is not particularly fun.
You shouldn't insult people over it.
You can't expect people to compliment you for it though.

Absolutely, 'nerfed' but not 'punished'.
Camping and tunnelling should be made less profitable, so that they're not the go-to strategy.
Correct.
Although, I don't know how to replace it with something that isn't even easier to do.

Like I said,if it's attributes were talking about,we know Frank played basketball so he has strength and speed so his hand eye coordination is quicker and his punches will pack some thunder,on top of that he's a psychopath, their usually unusually strong and resilient. If I was you I'd just go for the hatch. You can even see all this in The Legion's Mori by your logic why not just beat up Michael Myers?
Someone clearly hasn't seen the latest movie lol

Oh for sure, some players are just morons. But if like, the killer is just playing well (even if that includes camping, tunnelling, slugging) then I don't get pissed off when I lose, they're just trying to do what every player is trying to do, win. I lost, that's it, next game. And if I lose because Meg brought the killer to me and the killer decided to swap targets, well tying to put blame on that Meg is pointless, I can't know if she did it intentionally or not. That's the sort of thing I'm getting at.
I try not to blame the player for doing what's efficient.
It's why I push for tunneling, camping, slugging, gen-rushing etc etc to be "nerfed".
Because it's not fun to play against but I also can't fault players for using the tools they're given.
-
I agree, except for Shards.
I think Shards should be an online only thing.
But BP should definitely be given in full to bot matches.

You learn to enjoy the chase and the anticipation of getting caught, like any real horror movie/game, regardless of whether you escape or not.
If you can't do that, you'll be stuck in a never ending cycle of salt and frustration.
This game is a testament to the idea that "offense is taken, not given", if you're getting annoyed at other players (your team mates or your opponents) about losing, that's on you.
I feel like there's a middle ground.
Lord knows if I see one more Meg who can't hit skill checks in my lobby, I am going to lose whatever is left of my mind

They don't JUST make you hold W. That's false. There's multiple ways to counterplay them. Believe it or not, you can loop them.
It's very difficult to loop two Killers at once, provided the AI isn't getting stuck.

Why is he compelled to care about the survivors' fun more than his goal of winning?
They aren't.
I'm remarking that their entire point (which they so eloquently spelled out) was how they were upset that people were mad at them for playing in a very unfun style of gameplay.
If you aren't going to care about other people's fun, do not be surprised when they don't care about yours. Seems fair to me, tbh.
Also, their complete dismissal instead of having a discussion tells me this post is almost certainly baiting reactions.

If you are friend of the guy up I can suggest you too a good eye doctor. This thread does not regard me as a killer or my performance. It is about people not calling on themselves when they loose and, in general, a tendency of discriminating the killer's work. I do get positive comments and eventually I get people joking at the end, but it's mostly because of something I did. Not because I did an insane performance. If you are extremely fast and efficient, the best you get is silence. Otherwise they will blame the build or the killer's power.
And the focus of the thread, one last time : if you tunnel or slug for a section, they will overtalk it and consider the main reason why they lost, and feel entitled to come and say to you whatever they want, something they really wouldn't do outside of a screen :)
So This entire thread is about how you're surprised that playing in an unfun way makes people unhappy?
Okayyyyy.

I haven't been having much trouble in my games.
Outside of the one Nemesis game which made me remember why I can't play Nemesis anymore.
I can offer some tips to try to help your Killer gameplay?

i like you pulsar but yeah that's not a good take.
his kit is better than a ton of other killers.
skill issue
Explain to me how having a kit based entirely around RNG makes him good?
Is he better than someone like Trapper? Sure. Is he better than someone like Bubba? No.

If you manage to get hit by MoM, OTR and DH in a match I think that's called a hat trick.

Its psuedo-rng. Especially with the box spawn. Its designed to spawn away from survivors and away from you so you can get it pretty solid.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3253749#Comment_3253749
Yes but you curve. Small obstastcles like trees or rocks can be gone around. Large walls you place the chain behind or to the side. The only real difficulty is if you are in an indoor map. because its much harder to pinpoint the right room.
I mean, you can't know where the Box spawns every time because you don't know where the Survivors are.
It doesn't like to spawn within 16m of a Survivor (but still can) or within 40m of Pinhead. That's a lot of ground to cover.
Likewise, his Possessed Chains are totally RNG. They can spawn in rocks and never connect, they can spawn super far away and never connect, they can spawn right on top of the Survivor and cuck them or they can spawn and instantly break.
-
Good soldiers follow orders.
-
I've been calling him C-night.
-
Just seems like the most toxic characters get the most skins.
You never see toxic Jeff's or Adam's or Haddie's. Never see any cosmetics either.
I can't wait for Krampus and Minotaur Feng skins.

Okay, I'll ignore you.
He sucks, sorry. His entire kit is rng. From his Box spawns to his Possessed Chains spawns.
-
I haven't read it but is it Starstruck, Agi, Lethal and PR on Nurse with a Midwich offering?
That usually makes everyone leave.

Really? Like I do get that chain hunt is annoying but he's a low A/high B tier killer. I feel like if I am only playing killers who arent considered annoying I don't know whose left. I guess Hillbilly probably as the least annoying but even that I am not sure of.
He's definitely not A or B tier. I'd put him in C.
He's probably the second most annoying Killer to face, right behind Legion. Neither of them are strong, they're just designed really really poorly.
-
Don't play Pinhead.
That's it. Your perk combo isn't the issue and changing it likely won't matter.
He can be super oppressive in Solo Q and very annoying to deal with. People are just gonna hook suicide rather than sit through a long game they aren't having fun with.
-
Pretty much every Feng player acts like that too, super entitled and whiny.
Yeah, I know it's super anecdotal and not all Feng players are like that but in my experience they are.
-
It's unlikely your playing against high MMR right off the bat.
-
No.
The game barely runs on some platforms as it is.
-
I think it's something like 8 hooks, 2 Mori's and 2 Kills during the EGC

No, Survivors are not obligated to let killers have fun.
That is why you never see silly statements like "It's toxic for survivors to do a gen before the Killer has three hooks." There's this weird idea that you are somehow being gatekeepered in how you can play based on some degree of success the other side gets to decide. It's nonsense.
If something is an unfun mechanic, it should be looked at.
Facecamping. Tunneling. Etc etc

Killers are not obligated to revolve their niceness level around whatever arbitrary number of generators you have chosen.
Survivors are not obligated to let Killers have fun.
This is an extremely poor argument.
-
It was good.
Wasn't super innovative or anything, but it didn't need to be.
It was a fun, easy to understand event that encouraged more Hooks and more Gens to be done.
-
I want the console version to have proper controller settings
-
Yeah, I've always felt DBD was pay to enjoy.
You're experience is so bad and overwhelming as a new player.

I'd rather fix the problem rather than ban people for not having fun.

A lot of sword blades are usually about 2 inches thick, so yeah its about accurate.

Other perks Hook-related perks like Devour Hope and Make Your Choice already do this.
I see zero issue with adding that to Monstrous Shrine.
