So why is The Knight new (worse) Artist?

Comments

  • they both force survivors to hold w. or get hit.

but with artist she can injure quite quickly with her crow at a loop while the knight needs his guard to first catch the survivor than chase them and that can take quite a long time. the guard is also not able to move white setting up his trail.

idk they are similar but idk about if they are that similar

I hope they will not be so similar. If Knight only right and most effective way to play will be just "Artist gameplay" then I might as well just go play Artist.

They don't JUST make you hold W. That's false. There's multiple ways to counterplay them. Believe it or not, you can loop them.

I want to watch you loop the pincer.

It's very difficult to loop two Killers at once, provided the AI isn't getting stuck.

I mean you can run into the AI to gain a lot of distance, which allows them to effectively do nothing because they take forever to catch up. Additionally, the knight is stationary while placing the AI, which means the survivor is getting free distance (W Simulator) while he is chilling out at 0.00m/s.

  •  both force survivors to hold w. or get hit.

but artist doesnt rely on AI being good or bad at certain loops , she just put a "bird" to 1 side and thats it , while knight needs to put the sword on the ground and place a guard on every loop witch gets countered way more effective by holding W compared to artist, and also she can do snipes across the entire map. (there is not other reason to play knight outside of wanting to play a better visual design version of artist)

+Guards can trigger DH also , soo free speed boost if the survivors wants a easy hold W gameplay against the knight.

  • It mostly has to do with both Knight and Artist having the same basic gameplan, which is to use their power to trap a loop so that if they survivor sticks around, they take a hit.

Of the two, the Knight is the easier for the survivors to deal with, though. They can see when the Knight is summoning a guard, summoning makes the killer stop in place, the path and radius of the guard is clearly indicated. So Knight gives survivors a much bigger heads-up that they should just run to the next tile.

  • The counterplay from the survivors POV is the same with the artist and knight. Ether you have a connected tile or you get hit. It's boring and black and white gameplay.

He's worse than the artist because he's just really slow all around in what he can do.

  • Simple. Ignore the bad AI chasing you, and loop the Knight normally. If it's the Assassin, you might get hit, in which case use your sprint burst to get away from the Knight. This is all assuming that they even detect you in the first place, which is unlikely.

I don't think the AI's ever gonna get to a point to where it is literally as threatening as a 2nd killer player, as y'all make it sound like when we know full well it's not that great.

I mean, even if they’re bad chasers, just by existing the guards make a loop unusable if the Knight has any concept of positioning. I don’t know what kind of goofy ahh Knight players you were going against, but a Knight who understands what zoning is really cannot be looped at most tiles. It really isn’t that hard to put the survivor in a position where they either go one way around the loop and run into the Knight, or go the other way and run into the guard.

Even factoring in the Knight’s slowdowns and the guards’ clunky AI, Knight can very easily force survivors to abandon loops—which is why everyone’s calling him another Artist; he’s another loop shutdown killer whose only counterplay is holding W.
