Depends on the map.
The players.
The individual map RNG.
The items and add-ons allowed for Killers/Survivors.
The Offerings allowed.
The MMR level they play at.
Also, the general balance sort of goes like this.
Comp-Level Matches:
Survivor-sided against Killers except the top tier one's where it becomes either even or less Survivor-sided.
This is because there are generally restrictions placed on both sides.
Highest-Level Public Matches:
Survivor-sided against all but the best Killers.
No restrictions or limitations placed on either side. Generally defaults to whoever has the better add-ons/items wins but it is generally Survivor-sided.
High-Level Public Matches:
Even. Players are just good, but they aren't sweating for the 4K or for the 4E.
There's a fair variety of Killers and they probably aren't using the strongest add-ons.
Average-Level Public Matches:
Even or slightly Killer-sided.
Here's where you find a lot of gen regression perk stacking and Survivors unable to keep up. Not everyone plays like that though.
Low-Level Public Matches:
Very Killer-sided.

There is counter-play to Nurse.
However, I'd say it's sort of similar to Trickster's counterplay, not his strength. With Trickster, there is counter-play to his knives but it doesn't feel like meaningful counterplay.
There are just situations where you go down to Trickster and there's not really much you can do, if you aren't near a high-wall structure or a main building, sucks for you.
I find this to be similar to Nurse. If you aren't near some good LoS blockers, you die. If you aren't near a multi-story building, you die. If you try to play a pallet loop, you die.
That's sort of how I see it. Nurse has too many favorable positions to chase in and not enough unfavorable one's or neutral one's.
-
Yeah, that's an ######### move.
should probably blur their names
-
I just want real individual Killer MMR.
I don't want to get stomped 30 games in a row before I can actually play the game

just don't understand the logic behind "well it's alright since it was completely fine for me"
the equivalent of saying "I do fine against nurse, so it must be fine for everyone else"
The person I was responding to said "well, we know how the game is with penalties off" and i shared my own experience.

That's an even better idea. DbD should have a ranked mode with real ragequitting penalties, and all the ragequitters can hang out with each other in casual mode. I can easily go an entire evening of OW2 without seeing any ragequitters, and it's so much better that way.
I mean, if you're willing to wait in a 30 minute queue in order to play the sweatiest players imaginable, go for it ig

It will function much better, because adding real consequences for ragequitting would lower the amount of ragequitting. Have you played other PvP games, and noticed the ragequitting rate is way lower in those games, because they have real consequences for ragequitting?
The reason we have so much ragequitting in this game is because so many people think the current ragequitting consequences are such a joke, that they have zero hesitation to ragequit in DBD.
CoD doesn't iirc.
Battlefield doesn't.
OW doesn't in the majority of modes.
For Honor doesn't in the majority of modes.

It's probably the best event in years.
It looks like a lot of effort went into it.

Either way, I have not argued it has doesn't optimisation/performance issues... that does not change the fact that the PS4 is very underpowered now and nobody in any game company is going to invest resources into performance on obsolete hardware. The solution is to either live with it or upgrade... people may not like this choice but it is what it is.
Though if it is only one map the OP is having issues with they may even address that (RPD has always has issues though).
The game released in 2016, there is no excuse to tell people they need to buy a minimum $500 console because BHVR can't be bothered to fix the game for the platforms that were contemporary with it.

And we would be trading people who DC, for longer queue times for games where people aren't ragequitting. This would be a giant boost to matchmaking, for the people that want to play each game out.
Adding bots wouldn't be getting rid of people who ragequit either, so according to your logic, we shouldn't be adding bots.
Except, you aren't getting rid of people who ragequit. You're getting rid of people who DC and splitting the queues.
The game already has issues finding matches as it is, how the hell do you think it's going to function if we cut a large portion of the playerbase out?
Forget what I said earlier, your suggestion will do vastly more harm than good.

Oh don't get me wrong, it sure has performance issues and I have had my own complaints about optimisation as I have been having stuttering issues on a very high end PC (launch parameters seem to have helped for now at least).
But with them upgrading graphics and a PS4 falling ever more behind hardware wise... I dunno if they will be able to do much with very obsolete hardware at this point.
Red Dead 2 looks better, is bigger and runs better than DBD on Xbox One.
Battlefront II looks LIGHTYEARS better and runs better on Xbox One.

Problem is the PS4 is very underpowered by modern standards and I don't know how much optimisation they can do to improve that in 2022
They can do a lot.
There's no excuse for DBD to look how it does and run like it does,

Unfortunately this is your answer and BHVR either can't or won't do the work to fix things up to have them run smoothly on the last gen consoles
There is a BIGASS thread about these issues that has been going strong since 2021

Pick One:
Opinion 1: Separating frequent ragequitters into separate queues won't do anything, because there are still other issues with matchmaking.
Opinion 2: Just because one thing is bad doesn't mean we shouldn't try to fix other bad things.
What?
Separating them will make the queues longer which is bad for everyone. Casual players will care about long ass queue times.
You aren't fixing something, you're making it worse. At best, you're trading people who DC for long queues. Likewise, you aren't getting rid of people who hook suicide. So you really aren't doing anything

Why would you care if bots were added to the game, if you honestly believe your matches are forever doomed to be terrible?
Just because one thing is bad doesn't mean we shouldn't try to fix other bad things.

@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240268#Comment_3240268
Do you honestly think your teammates would be equally bad if they ragequit or if they didn’t ragequit?
Yes.
Having someone DC is frustrating. Having someone new to the game is equally as frustrating.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240236#Comment_3240236
For the people that don't frequently ragequit, the longer queue times would be worth it, because they would have much less games ruined by ragequitters.
No lol?
Now I have to wait longer for a ######### match.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240199#Comment_3240199
If frequent ragequitters were placed in their own queue, then you shouldn’t be placed in the same game as them, unless you are also a frequent ragequitter.
Nope, I'd just have even longer queues only to still have an unfun game.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240005#Comment_3240005
We need a separate queue for people that ragequit too often, so they can ruin each other’s games. Adding bots would encourage more ragequitting, because there would be less guilt over ragequitting if the survivor knew they would be replaced with a bot.
I would take a bot over a teammate who doesn't want to be in the game every day of the week.
-
Legion, Twins and Pinhead are my least favorites.

That would be amazing, but we don't even have a proper botmatch right now.
Which is why I continue to show my support for the system.
Everybody wins with it. Killers don't get screwed out of a game or BP, Survivors don't auto lose and the person who wants out can get out.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3239474#Comment_3239474
There's a difference - at least in a suicide/AFK situation, I can get some BP. But I agree, neither are ideal.
That said, I absolutely do not believe that it's because of anything killers are doing. I see as many quitters when I play Ghostface and Plague as I do when I play Cenobite or Hag.
You can't stop people from getting out of a game they don't wanna play.
Which is why I want the bot system.

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/351884/solo-q-needs-a-less-stiff-dc-penalty
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Hell no.
I'm about the nicest, fairest killer you can imagine. I go out of my way to try and 2 hook everyone, I don't camp and I usually run flans.
I see at least 1 DC, suicide or AFK in every 2-3 matches I play.
I've given up on playing solo queue completely at present, because there's maybe a 50% chance of the first person to go down to either suicide or cable pull.
This has nothing to do with how killers play. This is something people do because A: They can and B: Because they know it's annoying.
We need strictrer DC controls, and some sort of system to ban people who suicide or AFK constantly. Because it's hard enough to find a proper game right now.
And yes - you can easily do 5 gens while trading.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3239445#Comment_3239445
The last time they disabled them I saw a DC literally every time I played for maybe 9 games in a row, sometimes as soon as the survivors saw me. I then gave up completely and came back when they were reinabled.
So, so many people abuse zero DC penalty to drop their ratings.
Yeah, that's just normal DBD.
Hear a Nurse? Multiple DC's.
See a Pinhead? They're out.
Legion? Same thing.
I saw more DC's but less hook suicides. The actual amount of games being ruined was the same.

OH don't worry you do buddy since ow2 it's even worse so so many new players flooding the game that the system needs to put them somewhere so as a Plat I get people that literally just started and I see my fair share of players that are much much higher then me to while mm is bonker atm
I still comment on the OW2 forums but I gave up on it.
Used to be Plats didn't match with GM's lmao

@Crowman said:

We already know what the game is like when d/c penalties are disabled. There's no reason to loosen it up for solo q and make solo q worse.
It literally wasn't any different for me.
-
@Crowman said:
So your solution to solo q being frustrating is to make it more frustrating?
Eh, at least I can go next.
I'd rather pursue the bot system though.
-
@dugman said:
First, how do you know they're not close to your MMR?
Second is even if they're very high MMR the system has to put them against somebody and if there's nobody in their bracket they'll go against whoever happens to be available. No MMR system is going to get around that.
If you're GM in Overwatch you don't play against Plats.
-
Even I don't manage a 99% win rate and I took the game way too seriously.
I hover around 85% and that's already too high.
-
I'd rather just move forward with the bot system.
That would make everyone happy.
Except the people who set out to give other people a miserable experience but we don't care about them.
-
I'm gonna lose it anyway, might as well try.

I'll raise you one.
How about if we click on the final outer node in a bloodweb it automatically claims the path to get there.
(This could be done anywhere on the bloodweb obviously, see that purple addon you want? Click it once and it claims everything on the way there in 1 simple click)
I'll do you one better.
Add a slightly more expensive option to just auto-level the blood web.
-
I always liked Hawkins.
If there's ever a ST2 Chapter, I hope we get Starcourt or the Gulag.
-
Yeah, this just creates meta Survivors and we don't want that. This has been suggested numerous times over the years, it's just not a very good idea.
It'd just encourage the Devs to make even more skins for Feng.
-
That's not why Nurse is strong.
There are Killers that are even better at tunneling than her.
Qnd those aren't the changes I'd make to her in order to address her issues.
-
So the Survivors saved their teammates (like they are supposed to) and you decided to be toxic and bleed them out for it?
Okay...

@Starrseed said:

I don't think there can be that middle ground because how would you change up legion without either changing them completely wich sucks for legion mains or make them weak af.
You need to keep that fast running stabbing thing cause that's legion and one of the reasons they where my first killer I bought. But for that to work you need the mending as a time consumer or its not viable
It's not a position I envy, but I think it does need to happen.
They are a poorly designed Killer.
-
@Starrseed said:
Because survivors don't know what they want.
They dont want to face legion cause the games are to long and that's boring but they also dont want to face nurse or Blight because the games are so short cause it's either slam gens or get slammed
People want to face killer they can loop and loop and play with but without an actual risk to die
I feel like it's not that unreasonable to want a middle ground between mending sim and nurse sim
-
I don't play Legion anymore because I know exactly how awful he is to face.
It's why I wanted him reworked instead of buffed. His design is never going to be interactive and fun for both sides.

Drain You.
It's been an endless fascination to me ever since I first heard it. I've yet to figure out why it entrances me, but it does.
I have eluded to the fact that I have a lot of health issues before. When I was in high school, I scored very highly on my ACT's and SAT's, high enough to get a full-ride scholarship. I graduated right after I turned 17 and left for college when all the other guys in my class were 19. A lot of people thought I was brilliant, not the traditional smart but mad scientist smart. My ego ######### loved that trust me, even though I'd say "I'm only smart enough to realize just how little I really understand." My health issues got worse when I went off to school. It got bad enough that I was forced to drop out, I couldn't deal with school work and the pain/upkeep of being sick all the time. I'm still not sure what to do.
But these things have given me the tendency to overanalyze, to overthink and to worry myself into a frenzy. Part of that's probably ASD and the other part is probably learned behavior.
Regardless, whenever I find myself stressed, I find myself tapping or humming or blinking out the tune to Drain You. It calms me down. Reminds me of something, although I don't know what. Even when I'm not stressed, I'll still find myself absentmindedly tapping out the lyrics.
The song is endlessly mesmerizing to me. The lyrics, the drums, all five guitar tracks, the doubled vocals, the bass, the rubber ducks in the chorus, the harmonies and the scream all help me more than I can say.

People just need to learn to self-regulate. The beauty of the internet is that you don't have to reply immediately, especially if you've typed out your response and it's pretty heated. Don't press post, just close the page, go get an ice cream or something and chill out for a bit. Sometimes you'll get back and realise the conversation actually wasn't a productive use of your time anyway.
I think the whole offense system is a little outdated too.
I messed up over a year ago and definitely broke the rules, I think there should be some decay period where it's obvious that this person isn't a repeat offender

They didn't do any more of them.
They did not actually stop what they had started. They let it run it's course and then let it fade away.
