The PC perk … and what I mean by this is those lovely players that have access to six or more perks in a game, or just permanent aura reading because you know, they have to cheat.
Ran into this three times last night. They don’t even try to hide it. Perma aura reads with no aura reading perks equipped. Or my favorite, when they run corrupt, bamboozle and thanataphobia and yet still somehow have three or four hex perks as well. Like, we can count my guy. Ah yes, the “perks” of being a PC player 🙄

Yup. Going against all the uber sweats that come out for every event makes playing basically futile
And they have no interest in doing the event. They just have an interest in ruining it for other people. I think if you’re playing a game and not doing anything for the event but you’re playing the event you should be locked out of playing it and have to go play normal mode if you wanna play like a complete jackass.

AT least we should get an option to "spend Blood Points till they are gone" and then it just blasts through 2 million BP in 2min.
Ideally We should also get the option to chose "go cheap", "go expensive" or "always buy Iridescent add-ons".
In my wildest, bloodpoint addled dreams, we get 5 slots that we can fill in order of importance for the five add-ons or items that the auto-blood-web should look for.
This! Absolutely this!

Nor is AFK. I wound up with a stomach bug that came over me suddenly. So we were playing a few matches and then we were starting one and my bowels said oh no there is only ONE thing that you’re gonna be doing right now. Then, about an hour later, it happened again which made me realize I had something going on. Obviously I just called it a night having two games that I couldn’t even do anything but be away on the toilet. Luckily, I was with friends who understood why I needed to be away, but it just as easily could’ve happened in solo queue, where no one would’ve had any idea why I was not participating.
-
I will never be OK with receiving a penalty for leaving a game when your teammates can actively work against you. I literally just had a Dwight that did everything in his power to lead the killer to everyone other than him because he was a scared little coward. No reason you should ever get a penalty for leaving a match like that.
-
plain and simple. This is supposed to be a team versus a single player. The problem lies in the fact that you cannot force players to be a team if they don’t want to be. No amount of changes will fix that if people want to be selfish or if they want to be a troll they are going to be that.

I think (hope) you understand what I am actually saying. Im not saying dbd as a whole is unwinmable for survivors, i am saying it is often easy to tell that a specific match is unwinnable.
I can understand that. But more times than not it has to do with your own team and not the killer. When the game is very noticeably unwinnable, it’s usually because someone gives up on first hook or you have two teammates, who are deciding to go hide in corners and not do generators or even participate.
Yes,, there are definitely times when the match is unwinnable because of the killer but I don’t find that to be the case as often as it being the case because of my own teammates.
And this is why I say the game does not need to change the killer to balance it around me as an individual. And unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about crappy players. If they are not going to participate, there’s nothing you can do to make them. You cannot balance mechanics based on other people’s lack of participation.

Okay you can get on your soapbox and write an essay about why you think its okay for one side to be overpowered, but then dont complain when players choose not to stay in unwinnable games.
👍 so then I guess you should not be playing since according to you every game is unwinnable. Why are you here again?
-
I am still of the belief that hiding things has made it worse. I see more wait times in lobby shuffling through five or six killers before a match will start. I think if they had a match or two where there was some P100s they just start dodging multiple ones assuming they’re gonna get the same. To me it just feels like I get dodged way more often than I was being dodged before.

Im not going to keep arguing because you are saying that I am saying something that I am not actually saying. I just hope you have fun playing easy mode.
you’re another one who makes me laugh. The reset just happened. I got maximum blood points for survivor, I got 20,000 blood points for killer that shows you how much I played each role. Granted, there are months where I max out on both roles, but I play Survivor a far greater deal than I play killer and I don’t seem to have these detrimental problems that some of you all talk about.
do I go on losing streaks? Absolutely. Mostly on solo queue, but I also understand that that’s going to be the case because the quality of my teammates is just up in the air. Sometimes I will get insanely cracked teammates, and other times I will get useless potatoes. Neither one of those instances means that the killer needs to be nerfed into the ground. The game does not need to be balanced around making you feel better and making you think that you are some video game god. There are a lot of people on this forum that just need to accept that they are not as good at video games as they think they are.

No thats not what im saying. Im saying that even after you take into account the 4 vs. 1 thing one side still has an insane advantage.
They are supposed to have an advantage because they have to deal with four players. It’s not one versus one. You can’t balance a game to be in favor of the four because sometimes you get trash teammates. There is nothing that can be done that is going to help that situation. The only thing that you as an individual can do is play with friends or find people who you play with that are decent enough at the game and add them to your friends list so that you can play with people that you can depend on.
And if you don’t think that the player who is ALONE should have an advantage over a team of four, then you are part of the problem. Having four players is your advantage if you are playing solo and getting stuck with three garbage players like I said, start finding friends who are better at the game and you’ll see how much of a difference it makes.

60% to 40% . 33% advatage. Thats all you need to know and the only argument that matters. Killers not only want to play in easy mode they want to pretend it isnt.
Go play a different video game. Seriously just go play a different game. You’re trying to argue that in a game where one player is going against four players that each individual from the side with four players should be as strong as the side with one player and you somehow think that would be fair? Yeah, you definitely don’t need to be playing this game.

Its not just that its assymetrical. Its that its assymetrical with one side having an insane advantage.
1v4 … your advantage is the 4. That’s why the one is stronger and it always should be that way. Everyone who complains wants to be able to defeat the one player by themselves and that is a ridiculous ask. You’re asking the game to be balanced around the fact that you ended up with bad teammates and again that is a ridiculous ask.
What is more actually the problem is there are a whole lot of people on here that just think they are a lot better at the game than they actually are and because they perform poorly they think that the game is at fault and not their own self. I hate to break it to you, but just because you think you should be looping killers like the streamers that you watch on YouTube doesn’t mean that you will. And no, the game does not have to be changed in order to make that be the case for you. -

So what is your idea of fair? I'm really interested in it.
You say killer is baby mode easy but use outliers using one of the most broken killers with meta builds in pubs to prove your point. Also I hate to break it to you but mmr is an absolute joke in this game you never ever get teams that are equal in skill across the board ever. If mmr actually did work these "streaks" wouldn't exist. The only plus to playing killer over survivor is that you can depend on yourself, where as survivor you can loop the killer for 4 gens and be left on hook because your teammates are crap. Both sides have their respective skill ceilings and both sides have their easy mode depending on who wants to sweat the most and who the RNG favors.
his idea fair would be 100% escape 100% of the time. That’s literally what this comes down to this idea of talking about skill is a joke. These people have ego and they think that they are the best video game player of all time and if they aren’t “winning” all of time, The game needs to be changed to be more “fair”. When in reality, it’s the complete opposite they want the game to be changed to not be fair, but to be tilted in their favor, so that they can feel like the video game god that they believe that they are in their own heart.
-
This is the first honest survivor who has posted something about this. It’s right there in his words. Tunneling is a problem for him because there is no guaranteed way to get a win. That’s what this comes down to, anytime a survivor main posts that this is a problem it needs to be fixed that is a problem that needs to be fixed and so on and so forth all they’re saying is keep making changes until I’m guaranteed a win every single match.
Any strategy or play style that doesn’t allow me to feel like I am an elite gamer needs to be NERFED into the ground so that my ego can be inflated.

please look up the definition of the word hypocrite. You say that there’s plenty of evidence that killer is easy and then contradict yourself by saying it doesn’t need to be proven. Yes, it does actually. You make a claim, back it up. You can’t, so instead, you make baseless statements of why you “won’t”. It’s not that you won’t. It’s that you can’t.

I feel like if BHVR can address some of the biggest complaints that players collectively have, such as gen speeds, hard tunneling, bad matchmaking, excessive slugging or excessive hiding, then players will be less likely to give up when negative situations occur.
Killers that hard tunnel a survivor have often been gen rushed in the previous match. Survivors that DC have often been hard tunneled in their last match and just give up.
I like the system change to 2v8, where gen speeds will rubberband depending on how the match is going. That alone will make matches more bearable for many players. I'd love to see more changes like this, that don't impact a balanced match, but help sand the edges off of a bad one.
I think BHVR can find ways to deal with the worst situations, whilst keeping player agency intact. The gen speed mechanic is a really good start.
this is it right here. I’ve been in plenty of solo queue matches, where you have somebody available to unhook you, but they choose to hide in a corner. If you’re letting me go to second stage on my first hook, I’m not doing the skill checks. That’s not me ruining the game. That’s the player who is available: not being chased not doing a generator and just deciding that if they could even faintly hear the killer’s terror radius they’re not coming to unhook. You had 70 seconds to get me if you did not do so it’s your fault that I’m out and onto a game with better teammates.
Then there are the ones who run bond for the sole purpose of running the killer to someone else anytime they are going to be chased. Doesn’t matter if that person is being healed doesn’t matter if they’re close to finishing the generator., these people are going to run the killer directly to them to save their own ass.
Worse than that, i’ve had these people run the killer over to a locker that I just entered to activate one of my PERKS and point at the locker. You do that to me I’m leaving the game via hook. Once again, you’ve already shown me you’re not a team player, so why should I be?
So yeah, there are very many valid reasons to “go next” and if that’s going to be punished, but the behavior that is causing it is not being punished then we have a problem.

Could be regression stacking like surge for the down followed by a PR hit. There's various ways a gen can get regression dumped, though it's harder to do these days.
no, this is happening upon hook. It’s not like a down regression and then a hook regression. It’s all immediately on hook.
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
It's first hook on a scourge hook. The killer can hook them on non-scourge hooks and it won't trigger PR. For example, if the killer hooks a survivor two times in a row on a normal hook, nothing happens. For the third and final hook, if he hooks them on a scourge hook, since it's their first hook on a scourge hook, then PR would trigger.
that makes sense. I cannot confirm if they were hooked on a scourge hook prior. I am still a little baffled about the insane amount of regression, which seems to be a bit more than 15%. But I’ll just have to look at that a few more times and gauge it

No, you think being stuck on the ground with nothing to do for such a long period of time is good game design and gameplay, and it IS NOT. It's absolutely SHOCKING that I even have to explain this, maybe it's stockholm syndrome.
'Entitled' is such a buzzword, we are ALL entitled to a good game, and I think the devs want to have a good game that is enjoyable to play.
It's simple bad gameplay to be stuck with no option but to stare at your screen while a slow timer runs out. IT'S BAD. Maybe you are just a troll who enjoys slugging people until they bleed out because you have nothing better to do with your time, idk. There are a lot of changes they could make to fix the issue, the easiest being basekit unbreakable of some kind but honestly ANYTHING would be better.
I don’t personally slug, Except maybe at endgame to prevent hatch I slug one person to go find the other. However, you think that you are entitled to be actually doing something the entire game, and think that the killers objectives should be circumvented so that you can do what you want to do the key word is that it’s wants. That is the definition of entitlement you want to do something and you think the game should be changed so that you can do what you want to do.

You missed the part where it's a 4v1 game and survivors are meant to get caught eventually, not run from pallet to pallet with complete safety.
It's not just some information that helps with being chased. It's knowing exactly where they need to run to next with no activation condition or cooldown. That's the problem, and that's what needs to change.
If we want to do an actual comparison, it would be like killers having permanent aura reading on survivors the entire match to always know exactly where they need to go.
Complete safety? Most pallets aren’t even safe. If you are just mindlessly following survivors into pallets who, as you say are using “training wheels” and not mind gaming the “terrible players” then that sounds like an issue of skill on your end. Why don’t you just say what you actually mean. That you want to win 100% of the time.
That’s what it comes down to. Even your statement shows your entitlement.
“They’re meant to get caught.”No, you have to catch them. Nothing needs to be nerfed, you just need to stop mindlessly walking into pallets. I play about 60/40 survivor and killer, and it makes no difference to me whether somebody uses WoO or not. But that’s probably because I don’t just follow them from pallet to pallet and let them dictate the chase.
Again, if you need to blame your inefficiencies on a perk it speaks volumes that this entire thread is about personal skill issues and the need for 100% victory to feed bruised egos.

Oh my God the killer gets some advantages in a 4v1 game? Completely unfair.
Killers should also have the same movement speed as survivors too, right?
How unfair they also get abilities that can damage survivors.
Honestly they shouldn't even get a weapon either, survivors don't have one after all.
OMG, survivors can use a perk that gives them some information to help them when being chased. Completely unfair.
Maybe they should start the match on hook. Or they should all be tethered to each other so that the killer doesn’t have to figure out where any of them are. He can chase them all at once.
Yeah, I can play that game too. See how ridiculous it sounds. That’s how it sounds when you did it.
-
@Altan said:
There's a reason why every single survivor use this perk. You can't deny a perk is overpowered when it's part of every single build. When I play killer I automatically know they use it when they run me from pallet to pallet, which is almost all the time, and I assume people who don't have it didn't buy the survivor yet.
A simple range nerf would be enough, IMO this perk should help you find a path when you're being chased, not plan the chase for the 3 next minute with every obstacle of the map. Sure, you can argue "then give up the chase and go find someone else". But maybe you didn't read that every survivor use this perk.
Sure, rework WoO the moment killers don’t get to see gen auras or hook auras when they down someone. Difference is, killers get that information basekit. Survivors have to use a perk slot.
-
@sickdeathfiend said:
Yes the game needs this, and despite what any excuse anyone gives as to why they shouldn't the truth is simple, it's terrible game design to have you stuck on the ground with nothing to do for that long. Needs to happen asap. There is no debate, it's just a fact.
yeah, that’s the point that you’re not doing anything ie: gens. You’re literally admitting that you are so entitled that you think that survivors should just be able to do whatever they want for the entire game without the killer being able to do anything about it.

Finally someone sees it. A killer does not win at 5 gens unless he's facing survivors way below his level. That's a complete mismatch due to BHVR's botched MMR. I don't agree with the second part though. Good killers have gotten 2-3 hooks vs good survivors all the time. The number of those matches that have been happening to me have been increasing, and I know I'm not getting worse. In those cases, matchmaking is actually working, but that turns out to be a bad thing because the game isn't balanced for good survivors and killers to face one another. When that happens, survivors win 9/10 times. How are you going to get quick enough downs, to power your gen defence or chase build or whatever, against survivors who know how to play every time using check spots, the teleport backwards exploit at pallets, never fail flashbangs saves, and everything else? You can't. You just have tunnel, hope for no counter perks to that, and use Rancor for your second kill at the very end. That's been my solution; other's will not be so different.
I really have to question whether the MMR is “botched” because as it has been stated, this happens to killers, but it also happens to survivors where you just get a killer that you can steamroll.
Personally, I think this is by design. I don’t think it’s botched. I think it’s on purpose. Think about it. You have a couple of rough matches or you have some really close ones where you either draw or barely win or you lose. Then, the next thing you know you have two or three matches, where you’re just absolutely tearing it up. Kind of lifts your spirits when you’re doing well. I think that is intentional. I don’t think it’s a mistake at all. I think the developers know how this game can go for either side, and it has been implemented into this game that after so many normal matches (against people in your skill bracket) it throws you a bone for a few matches.
It happens far too regularly for it not to be by design. And when you get those matches where you get completely steam rolled, I think you were just the chosen one for someone else being tossed a bone. It would make sense that this is the case just considering the frequency.
I have many more games that are competitive (meaning, it can go either way, and that tells me that the matches that I am in are where I belong) but consistently I get a handful of matches as killer or survivor that are just one sided (some in my favor, and some not in my favor) that always seem to occur after a normal match stretch.
I can go 10 games where every game is definitely winnable by either side, but then I have three where it’s just an absolute slaughter and we steamroll the killer. Play another 10 normal matches then I’ll get two or three with a killer that absolutely destroys us.
I think it’s by design. I think the swing is by design to give everyone that dopamine high from winning decisively. Sometimes it’s your turn and in the matches that are really rough for you it just means you were chosen for someone else’s turn.

The hatch is handholding because it rewards Survivors for failing at their objectives. Slugging is not handholding because the Killer had to play well by find the Survivors and out play them while hitting them twice in order to down them.
It’s fair because the Killer worked for the Slug and 4K while the Survivor failed and yet still get another hand out to keep playing.
I’m sorry but there have been plenty of games where I have taken zero hooks, and ran the killer while my SoloQ teammates did MAYBE two gens. Usually one … but I’m being generous. So he gives up chase and goes after them. Now while I do gens … by myself, while they play flashlights and flash bangs terribly… and take hooks every 20 seconds, I don’t think my hand is being held for anything. The killer couldn’t catch me and does not deserve a 4K that they didn’t earn, despite my teammates being horrible.
And sometimes it’s not even that they’re horrible. It’s that they’d rather play the flashlight game than ever do generators, so it leaves it down to one person. Regardless, in my experience, the most time that a killer slugs to go look for last survivor is because they don’t have a hook on that survivor. So no they do not “deserve” a 4k. If you couldn’t catch me during the game, why do you think you suddenly deserve it at the end?
And while I do understand the other side of when a game goes very poorly for survivors, this is where, especially in SoloQ it becomes 1v1v1v1v1 and it’s still not a “hand-hold” it’s just not punishing all for the actions of some. Again, when you have two people disconnect, or kill themselves on first hook that’s not the killer playing well that your teammates being #########. Why should I be punished for that? Hatch doesn’t guarantee me anything but at least I have a chance after getting stuck with garbage teammates.
And on the occasions where everyone is playing and doing what they’re supposed to, if the killer plays well, and we still have three or two generators to do. We’ve all taken hooks. Then, I really don’t complain if they slug to prevent hatch. Because in those instances they do in fact deserve it.
-
This is just not true. I play SoloQ and SWF, 2-man, 3-man and 4-man.
100% on 3 and 4 man we have a significant advantage. Depending on what killer we get, we know which one of us is best at running them, we have constant communication, and I definitely get more escapes with SWF than SoloQ.
Communication is an advantage, and it’s a very significant one. So to claim that SWF doesn’t have as much of an advantage as people make out is just ignorant. I would say that not every single SWF has the same advantage. A 2 man are going to be coordinated amongst themselves, but they are still dealing with two random players. A 3 man has more advantage than the two men and the 4 man has the most advantage. There are also situations where you can get two separate two mans but that’s just going into a whole Nother thing.
Fact is, outside of adding a voice chat to SoloQ, nothing will ever bring it to be comparable with SWF.

You are pretty new to this game, aren't you? Because killers got so many buffs in the last 4 years that this narrative doesn't really hold up. I can list you a whole lot of things that got requested by killers and then implemented/ fixed by BHVR.
I’ve been playing since 2017, Thank you. What a very weird and desperate way to try to negate something. For every buff that you talk about came multiple nerfs. I remember the outcry about eruption, Pop, Surge, and pretty much every Jen regression park ever. All of them got nerfed into the ground. So sure you can list whatever buffs that you want but be sure to list the subsequent nerfs.
-
Just take killers out of the game and let survivors have their generator repair simulator. Let them earn 25 blood points per game because there’s no reason to give them more than that. They’re just repairing generators uninterrupted and casually walking out that’s nothing special to be rewarding. When they complain how boring it is 🤷 you did this to yourselves.

It went right over your head so I'll explain it.
The reason why survivors can't see what killers are in play is because queue rates for any killer that's strong would skyrocket. It would be a terrible change.
But with your reasoning, they should be allowed to because they're entitled to not want to play against things they dislike, if you advocate for this, you're prioritizing your wants over the health of the game.
In the same vein saying that killers are entitled to lobby shop but not survivors is just weird bias. I still don't think lobby shopping is nearly as bad as it was but at some point bhvr should completely blind both sides.
The health of the game is better when people have a choice. All of the changes to lobby are only promoting toxic behavior. And if we do go in that direction, it’s going to hurt the game because people are going to stop playing when the CHOICE to not play with toxic people is removed.

This logic falls apart if I were to ask you if survivors should be allowed to see what killer they're up against.
You have no logic as you are assuming an awful lot. I would not care if survivors were able to see what killer they are going against. I am a survivor main not a killer main.
And I leave more lobbies as survivor than I do as killer simply because I get paired with people who I have played with before, and do not wish to play with again.
The only people that advocate for this are the toxic players. Because they want to be toxic. That’s why they have such a hard time getting lobbies because people don’t wanna put up with their #########. That is the consequence of being toxic. Nobody owes you anything and nobody has to play games with you. Get over yourself. -
@WolfyWood said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3796983#Comment_3796983
You can literally do all of those things before you queue up??
If there was a penalty for dodging it would time out before you return from any of those activities unless you do it multiple times in which why queue?
This logic makes no sense.
Then you say that people are entitled and aren't owed anything while feeling entitled to leaving lobbies as much as you want.
This exactly like the Prestige subject before the devs thankfully used reason, the lobby should be a place to derive strategy or last minute prep on both sides, it shouldn't be a screening session or a free for all.
The problem is less important now that killers have to put in more effort to lobby shop now, but it won't really be solved until both sides are completely blind.
Yes,, I am entitled to leave lobbies that I don’t want to be in. I am under no obligation to play a game with any particular person.
The in game block list does not work properly and I am not going to be forced into matches with people that I’ve previously blocked. I’m not gonna be forced into matches with anyone. The fact that you think that should be the case shows me exactly what kind of player you are..
As I said, anyone advocating for this is looking to make the game more toxic and these are the kind of players that the game does not need.
Any online multiplayer game has a loading lobby. You ask why queue up? Because I can. And until that lobby timer runs out, or I press the button that indicates that I’m ready to start the match, it is at my leisure to leave if I see fit. That goes for whether I am playing Survivor or killer. As I said, I am under no obligation to play games with anyone. I have the right to choose which games I play and which games I do not.
Just as every other person has that right. What I nor anyone else has the right to do is to tell someone they MUST play the game with me. You do not have that right whatsoever in any circumstance. It does not matter someone’s reason. They simply might not like the other person. But it doesn’t matter people have the right to pick and choose who they play games with and who they do not.

Not true, gens give the most objective points. Plus I'm talking about something to ease pressure such as after you hook the last survivor, the gens get blocked for x amount of time. Allowing the killer to not be punished for playing fairly. This is part of the reason why killers camp and tunnel. In a kill based game, you can't blame people for using the most effective strategy.
The gens being blocked for a certain number of time already exists with the perk grim embrace. That does nothing to slow down survivors from completing generators. Right now the only way to effectively stop gens from being completed is to eliminate the survivors working on them as quickly as possible.
Everyone who is advocating for there to be punishment for killers that don’t allow all four survivors to remain in the game for as long as possible are being absolutely ridiculous.
How would you like it if it was suggested that if four generators pop too quickly, then all survivors automatically get two hook states and become exposed? No, you wouldn’t like it to be punished for doing what you’re supposed to be doing.
Yet for some reason survivors think it is OK to punish the killer for literally doing any of their objectives.
The only way to incentivize killers not to tunnel or slug, or camp is to stop making it extremely easy for survivors to have five generators popped. With gen regression being limited, gen speeds being buffed, and there basically no longer even being a three gen … why are we still at a five generator repair? At this point survivors should be doing all seven of them, since they really can’t be stopped. At least that would give the killer some time and maybe just maybe they wouldn’t feel so pressured to play the way that they’ve been.
just a thought.

Because Survivor side is not designed to have that information. Blame the Devs, not the Killers. Oh, and you CAN escape - it's called ending yourself on hook which a lot of Survivors do anyway. The problem really does sort itself out.
I don't think anyone actually wins 80 to 90% of the time unless they clearly, stomp babies every match and run the strongest meta things. Even then it's very hard. Are you Superman? Because the average Killers I see and read stats on, both from aggregate sites and stuff like Nightlight, sees them winning more or less between 60-70% of the time. Certainly not every round. I myself win about 68% of my matches, are you claiming you are better than most of the community?
Also I am sorry, but I really don't want to be in the same lobby as a troll with a slur in their name. As either role. Let me dodge bigots.
He is clearly a survivor main who has never played killer a day in his life. They are easy to spot a mile away, because they boast stats that are ridiculous in a desperate attempt to get their desired outcome.
“I never dodge games as killer and I win 90% of the time.”Now this is a half truth. Because you can’t dodge games as killer if you never play killer.
Anyhow the only people that advocate for removing the lobby are the most toxic of players. And as everyone has pointed out, nobody owes you a damn thing.
I don’t care that you want to run four flashlights with your friends in your games. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to go pee before the game starts. I care about that 60 seconds I have to go to the fridge for a drink. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to go grab a snack. I care about that 60 seconds that I have to be able to back out if I get that important phone call that I’ve been waiting for for days. What I do not care about is toxic players entitlement.
And that goes on both ends because I want to be able to leave the lobby as a survivor as well if I get a real life thing happening. I also want to have time for the other things I mentioned as a survivor as well.

”Why do killers think the game is survivor sided?”
Because it is. You can eliminate every single persons argument in the fact that whatever survivors want to happen to the game does happen. If they complain that they are not being able to do generators without interruption, the game is changed to make it more so. Survivors ridiculously ask for the game to be tailored to the killer not doing anything that is favorable to the killer, but to play as favorably to the survivor as possible, and the game is changed in order to reflect that. That is why the game is survivor sided. -

It's not really the pallets I care about its those long walls with the windows on the newer variations of maps
perhaps this is why there is an uptick in its usage. A bunch of maps got reworked people are using it to learn the new structures maybe.

Tunnelling has always been and will always be in the game, the regression nerfs didn't start anything, but just by looking in the forums/watching Youtube/Twitch and listening to people (and/or just playing the game on a regular basis) you can tell it's been getting worse. As long as tunneling isn't either punished or not tunneling is not greatly incentivized (the reason why Pain Res and Grim Embrace are among the most well-designed perks in my opinion) then it will always be a thing. Even then it will never go fully away. People don't tunnel because regression was nerfed, people tunnel more because regression was nerfed, anti-heal was nerfed, popular non-regression perks were completely overnerfed into uselessness (or nerfed the wrong way) in a pretty short amount of time.
People will always complain about tunneling due to it ruining the game, people complained back then almost as much as today (I think the only period where it was really horrible and comparable to the last few months was just after DS's initial nuking, it calmed down after a bit) because it's just as annoying and basically uncounterable for SoloQ as ever.
The problem is if you punish it, you’re effectively telling the killer not to try to win. You’re telling somebody to make sure that all four survivors stay in the match as long as possible and that’s just unrealistic as keeping all of them in the match longer goes against the killers win condition.

So because you have to choose your strategy, you think you should just get no way out basekit?
What you are asking for is to not have to make any choices. You’re telling us everything that “can” happen and you want the developers of the game to make it so that none of it can possibly happen. That is absolutely absurd.
If you get to the hatch and decide to stand on it and not close it, that is a choice. If you choose to close it immediately, that is a choice. You cannot predict whether the survivor is looking for the hatch or waiting at the exit gates and you’re asking for the game to hold your hand so that you don’t have to think about it at all.
I already said that the reason is avoid a hatch stand off, which was patched out in the past. This has nothing to do with decision-making. I already made my decision, which is to sit on the hatch since it is objectively the best choice.
Since you want to give us all of the “what if’s” let’s go over a few more.
The survivor might have a key.
The survivor might have Left Behind
The survivor might have a rainbow map
I'm fine with that since they had to waste an item or perk for it, which disadvantages them. They may get hatched but they increased the chances of their team losing.
The longer that you choose to stand on the hatch is what gives the survivor a guaranteed escape. It is a strategy and what you’re asking for is to make sure that you get a guaranteed final kill.
False. Standing on hatch is a guaranteed kill. At the 1 hour mark, the game automatically ends with all 4 survivors dying.
But obviously, you’re closing it in order for this to be a problem. If you are not closing it, then what is the point of this thread?

Imagine doing all 5 gens, and the Killer presses a button (same logic as hatch) and you die to a heart attack. But your team escaped, right? You won anyway. (And if you're going to argue that you specifically wouldn't win, that means we have to consider everyone separately. It means the Killer maybe won against you, but lost to the 3 survivors. That means if one person escapes, the Killer loses to that one survivor. Which, toxic survivors that get hatch love to point out.)
If you deserved the escape, you'd want the escape. Same as the killer, who would want to get the 4k.
No killer would mind if they had 1 gen left, and it was a very intense game that they expected to lose, where one survivor got hatch. It's fine. At that point, I'd just be happy and say GG's.
But if I get 3 kills at 3 gens left, and the last guy gets to escape because I am FORCED to close hatch to even have a chance at killing him, then yes, I will be bothered.
Hatch is a problem. Killers get punished for doing well, and some maps straight up don't allow you to hold W towards a gate after closing hatch. This promotes survivors waiting at gates instead of looking for the hatch.
Well, that’s a different issue. I think it should still be the old way. Where the hatch does not spawn unless there was at least a certain number of generators completed. I think before the hatch could only spawn at 2 gens left, or 1.

Whether you like the strategy or not, it is a strategy. Just like the counter play is either, Bring a perk to prevent it, or … prevent the hatch from spawning. If you’ve done neither one of those things, then you have to take the gamble.

You didn't understand my post. In the scenario I described, closing the hatch is a guaranteed escape for the survivor. It doesn't matter which gate I choose to check because they can open the gate before I reach either of them. This is not by design at all. The devs intended for the killer and survivor to look for hatch and only play for exit gates once hatch is closed. This is how the vast majority of games play out. The camping the exit gate strategy is an oversight by the devs not realising it's a guaranteed escape.
I can agree with killers on a lot of things, but on this you are just objectively wrong.
The hatch has been in the game long before only one survivor could use it. At one time you could get all four survivors out through the hatch with a key.
So no, there is no oversight, and the hatch was not designed in the way that you are suggesting.
Even when you read the little tips that pop up while a match is loading, it clearly reads.
If you are the last survivor remaining in the trial the hatch may be an OPTION to escape.
Option… not exclusive. There is nothing at all that suggests that a survivor must go for the hatch.
They have several options. If there is only one generator to complete, they can complete it. They can look for the hatch, or they can wait for the killer to close it.
Mix in the fact that there are several killers who are almost always going to find the hatch before a survivor because of map traversal, and yeah … waiting by the exit gates is definitely a smarter choice.
And if you are standing on the hatch for that long, and the survivor is not coming to it, then you already know what they are doing. You also already know where the hatch is so go chase them away from the door and then close the hatch.

Unnerf Ultimate Weapon because you can bring Calm Spirit
Unnerf Pain Res because you can bring Sabo
Unnerf Hex Ruin and NOED because you can bring all the anti-totem perks or learn to land skill checks
Unnerf hook camping because you can bring Reassurance
I shouldn't have to bring specific perks to counter an unfair and overpowered strategy. It should be nerfed like all the other overpowered stuff.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3794196#Comment_3794196
I guess I'll just sit on the hatch for 30 minutes then if you want it that way.
It’s not overpowered. There are two exit gates, and a hatch. Even if you close the hatch, you have to choose the correct exit gate. This is designed this way to give the last survivor a chance. That is why there is a hatch. You have to choose. Hatch or gates.
If you want to not have to choose, you’ll need to use a perk slot for that.

Say it with me again everyone:
SWF > Killer > SoloQThe truth is, there is never going to be a real Balance to the game. And this is primarily because it’s two different games trying to be balanced as one.
In one version of the game, you have a team of one versus a coordinated team of four. In this version of the game, the killer needs to be buffed to be on par with a 1v4 scenario.
In the other version of the game you have 1v1v1v1v1. In this version there is no coordination, or at the very least, it’s expected to be rare for that to happen. So a buffed killer who was buffed for version one of the game will be too powerful here.
That’s really what it comes down to. A game with communication and a game without communication are two very different games. Creating and balancing a third party (killer) between two very different games is never going to work. The killer is always going to end up too strong for one side and two weak for the other.
It’s like night and day.
Like having a football team with the playbook, coaches, and a planned out strategy.
And then you have a team of people who are just handed jerseys randomly and told to go win.
It’s quite obvious which team is going to perform better.

Nope. I already told you. If the hatch spawns far away from the gate, it's impossible to reach the gate in time before the survivor opens it. This is guaranteed to occur on certain maps, such as The Game and Lery's. This is what happens:
- Survivor is waiting at gate for me to close hatch
- I close hatch
- Survivor immediately starts openning gate
- I walk straight to gate
- Gate is already openned by the time I arrive
There's 0 counter play asides from waiting on the hatch for the survivor to give up. It's the exact same scenario as a hatch stand off.
Blocking the gate for 15 seconds only affects survivors that are abusing this strategy. It's extremely rare for survivors to attempt to open the gate within the first 15 seconds. If they are genuinely looking for hatch, the time it takes to walk to the gate should already take up most of the 15 seconds.
There actually is counter play to that strategy. And if you encounter it so frequently, it should be obvious.
Bring No Way Out and/or Remember Me. That will give you the exact thing that you’re looking for whenever this strategy is employed.
-
Oddly enough, I find this to be the case with a lot of the scratched mirror Mikeys I come across. It seems like they play more for the jump scare and almost always give hatch if not a 2+ escape even when they could have the game.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve also run into some very competitive ones but just overall I think I’ve had more chill ones that just wanted the jump scares.
Conversely, I generally get very sweaty Freddy players, regardless of their skill. Though I don’t get Freddy often enough to have a large sample pool.
-
I don’t mind these maps on either side. I definitely think that certain killers perform better than others on those maps, but generally, I’ve had mostly decent games on them on both sides.
I would say, my only issue with those Maps is the frequency at which we get them through map RNG.
