You're worried about buffing him too early when he may not need it. Why is this even a worry? When was the last time something was over buffed by accident for killers on live servers? The answer is never.
Ghostface? Wasn't he nerfed soon after? (although I never found him OP, it was evident that the community did) Spirit is another one that comes to mind, Prayer Beads was ridiculously strong until they finally nerfed it. Buffing him too early could literally lead to a ridiculously strong killer.
He already has a lot of potential, waiting on it is the best thing to do. Plus, everytime a killer comes out, people scream weak or too strong, even if the killers are balanced. Just look at Deathslinger, people found him ridiculously weak when he's actually in a solid spot. Oni got butchered because people found him too strong after release, only for the devs to revert it.
Wait on PH, there's no point in buffing him after what, 3 days of release?

I feel more capable with Clown compared to any other killer.
I have rough games like any other player though. I don’t feel god tier. But it’s a nice compliment.
(That said I do let my ego get inflated when I get 4 iridescent emblems against an aggressive coordinated red rank team without using ANY gen defence perks)
I played Clown the other day, he's actually amazing at stopping loops after the buff. He also somewhat counters DS. With Pop or Ruin, he turns excellent. (No addons btw)

Haha, thanks. I don’t think I’m god tier, but thank you for the compliment.
Honestly, from what I've read from your understanding of Clown, you probably are. Obviously, I've never seen you play, but when someone understands a killer that well, they're usually excellent at playing them.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
@DudeDelicious is what I'd class a god-tier clown but I'd still say to buff him.
It doesn't matter if some amazing people show up, a weak killer will always be weak. Imagine someone who's invested the time into PH to get that good put that time into Billy, huntress, nurse, spirit, or freddy. They'd practically never lose (with the exception of huntress because maps). A couple amazing players doesn't stop him being weak if you can't play him.
Please, BHVR, don't act on an impulse and nerf, but also don't put buffs off the table either.
Agreed, but how can you tell he's weak THIS early though? I think we should at least wait until the mid chapter patch before even considering buffs.
True on the Spirit thing btw, I used to never lose as her (some survivors I faced called me 'god tier'), but to get to that level takes literally playing that one killer everyday for a while. Now when I play her, my level is only 'good' because I took a break for 6 months lol.
The problem with PH is that he can be another Nurse or Spirit if the devs buff him, where he's literally unbeatable, or he could be as bad as old Hag was. It's very early to say this, but I'm pretty sure he'll need a rework if they will want to change him. His 115% speed and the nature of his power makes him very difficult to balance, since he could be too strong if the devs mess up with balancing him.

Iv been thinking. Is PH another Nurse? A Killer that can be damned good if the player is skilled, but also a Killer that is very weak in the hands of a random Joe.
That's been my conclusion on it. I've faced some pretty good ones (survivor main for this month because of all the killer bugs) and I literally felt helpless in a chase, the most I could do was aggressively pressure gens (which actually worked since he didn't have Pop lol). Even they weren't close to the potential PH could have though.
Buffing him before knowing his true potential could break him completely. If the devs wait on it, we'll see how good he is.

lol
You do know where are 4 survivor in the trial? I know, it's shocking that the person who was just unhooked isn't the only one in the game.
Also, use Pyramid Head. There's your solution to DS, if you wanna camp and tunnel all you want, use Pyramid Head.
Yes, "do bones" for NOED and "use Pyramid Head" for DS!
-
Demo is actually really good at shutting down loops and zoning survivors. I'd say it's pretty decent as a killer.

Play Hag, she's awesome. CashellP14 just doesn't like Hag! :P

No worries. People are free to play what they want lol. I just hate spirit :D
Run SB, Fixated, Iron will (but you probably wont get hit) and Spine chill. One of the best anti-spirit build. No chance she'll hit you since you can just walk away whenever spine chill doesn't light up.

@Splinterverse said:
My recommendation is to play SWF on the official discord (or elsewhere). It's a lot less common for someone to suicide when they're on comms with you.
But SWF on comms isn't my kind of thing lol. I already SWF, but we don't use comms and there's only 2 of us. But yeah, if my friends get into the game when crossplay comes, I might just do that.
-
@TrevorLahey93 said:
You playing Spirit? Cause I don't blame them if you're playing Spirit. Everyone should hook suicide against Spirit. If not idk lol.
I was their teammate. I've been maining survivor until Infectious comes into shrine. Everytime I play killer, I seem to get Ormond or Haddonfield which sucks for my Oni.
-
@mike4156 said:
sometimes its not the killer that makes survivors quit its other survivors, just saying
Yeah, not in those games. Nobody was playing wrong. I was pressuring gens, 1 got chased, another going for the unhook and that guy suicided on hook.

@LowSpecGamersMatter said:
That map is insane against huntress and Deathslinger. Legit long hallways with litte to no room to dodge/bait M2s. Idk what the devs are thought about that
It's even more depressing when you realise the optimal way to loop it is literally run in a straight line, something that Huntress and Deathslinger easily counter.

Her buff was just perfect. Love it
Yeah, she's underrated as hell. The most counterplay you can do is force her corrupt, hide for 60 seconds and then play as you used to, but even then, she can use tracking perks to find you.
-
@TKTK said:
I'd like them to bring footsteps, breathing, grunts of pain, falling noises and surivor sounds ingeneral back, cause they don't exist anymore.
Ye, that's why I'm maining survivor this month, no chance am I playing killer with all those bugs.
-
@Dabihwow said:
personally I think hes a pretty decent killer, its just that people haven't mastered him entirely yet, I'm saying this from both sides of perspective. Like I'm terrible as him because I don't have the right perks for him yet, but at the same time I've seen some really good players as him, so I'd say he's in betweenish,
I've seen some pretty good players with him too. I do think he is quite good tbh.

I've seen more people playing "immersed" than I've seen in my entire play time this week. So many people trying to blend into the scenery. I don't know if it correlates,but a lot of times there seems to be trends in the matches.
Probably because Urban will be meta again soon because of PH.

I go back and forth on whether I think Huntress or Deathslinger is better but this is pretty much my list.
I agree with @Poweas, I think Hag and Oni are both stronger than Freddy.
If anybody thinks Plague is a weak killer then they have absolutely no idea how to play her. She is a solid killer in the right hands.
Everyone is gonna have different opinions though.
Yes, Plague is actually incredible lol.

running circles around one spot until you use the pallet, then running to the next spot and repeating is not the only way to defend yourself. I rarely do it and have no problems running the killer.
Oh sure(!) You definitely will be able to put up more than 10 second chases without looping against a good killer, care to show us a video?

This is what I’ve said a few times in the past. If a survivor has teammates who aren’t the best teammates.Then yes fill free to die on hook.I do it especially when I’m being hook camped.What’s fun in being in a game if you have bad teammates or are up against a killer known for camping.
They weren't being camped, and the teams were actually all right though, it was weird.

No suicides for me but my run in with DC wimps has gone up. I've been Pyramid Head since the dlc dropped though. I guess they are part of the salty group trolling the community? LOL
PH? Honestly, I personally hate facing him but I wouldn't go as far as to suicide or DC against him, that's just kinda messed up and ruins others' experiences.
-
Joint worst with Dead Dawg Saloon for both sides. The best thing survivors can do is hold W and circle the building again and again. Boring for both. Killers cant pressure gens, survivors can't loop pallets.
-
I actually agree with this. It's inconsistent as hell.

tl;dw same issues as Haddofield for killer but throw in nearly all loops being unplayable for Survivors and the map is awful for both sides
Wow, Scott has my exact thoughts.

I try my best not to suicide on hook, but teammates are driving me away from this game. The new matchmaking system needs come quick man.... Too many players that do not belong in the ranks that they are in and too many unfair matches. I'd rather wait the normal ~10-15 mins to match fairly with the killer and other survivors. It's legit my biggest problem with this game rn.
The thing is, in one of the games, the team was good. Like we as a 3 man actually made it to last gen. Now I personally commit to a gen then unhook, and I know for a fact 1 was going for him, it didn't make sense honestly.
-
I'd put Oni and Hag before Freddy and ye, that's basically mine.
-
@gudmans said:
Cause dead zones exist?
Probably this. Some maps naturally spawn HUGE deadzones.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
Heres an example of the map being hot garbage- You are on a gen on 1st floor and someone is hooked across the map on 2nd floor:
Survivor POV: Potentially have to cross half the map to get to the stairs in order to cross half the length of the map again to get to the hook.
Killer POV: Same thing but to reach where Survivors were on BBQ
add this with Scott's points about the map and it just makes it feel even worse for both sides.
That map is really bad.

@thrawn3054 said:
Alot of different things could be behind it. Honestly I want to hook suicide against PH. Not because I can't take a down. You get me down I got no problem with that. Most PH's I've faced are the proxy camping hard tunneling type. I don't see a need to give them more points.
The main reason I've hook suicided is my team. If you're crouch walking around for no reason. You let me get to second stage because you're too scared to make a save. I'm out.
Someone did it against a good Huntress just now, it completely ruined the game.
-
I still hate the Dead Dawg Saloon map... But yeah, I'll try to adapt to the map, but the gameplay on it is very repetitive and boring so far.

There are like 2 really safe Pallets on the new Map.
It is not really a good map for either side, but the Pallets are not the problem for Killers.
Yeah, they're all pretty ######### tbh, aside from the 2 god pallets.
-
Kate, because I just like her style I guess. Might switch to Nancy though.

@Poweas I've only played the new map like twice, but yes, the hits are back and the servers feel awful tbh; game health seems even worse than ever.
The hits are really weird, the amount of spins I've got but they hit me while facing the opposite direction is so odd. Plus, my friend was playing Lerys earlier with me in a KYF, and he told me the FPS drops like mad as a survivor.
-
Thank you, @lordtomato and @Furry_Fuccboi, I forgot how punishing his cooldown can be. I'll try to abuse these tactics to (hopefully) extend my chases against him.
-
Have they actually? I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I've just been holding W in the new map to loop. 😎

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1361347#Comment_1361347
Do people really dislike Dead Dawg? I actually think it's the best map they've made since Clown.
I hate it personally, and a few others do. It feels frustrating as both sides and promotes genrushing since survivors can't really loop most the map, there's only a few spots for it, so they pressure gens heavily. Idk, I feel like it's unhealthy for the game personally.
-
He's really easy to avoid tbh. If anything, I think it could use buffs.
-
Honestly, I think it should too. It doesn't really work on survivors since they can crouch over it. I think the devs should explore buff ideas with PH, he has a LOT of potential if they buff him in the right spots.

I'm ignoring your post because it truly adds nothing to the conversation.
You get denied a vault and complain about it instead of adapting, or "learning the killer" as you put it.
It's okay.

Demo for rats liver to be in its base kit.
Bubba, but I got no ideas.
Clown only lacks map pressure now, but I don't see how he could get that without a full on rework.
Legion could use a fair amount tbh, no idea for that.
Pig could perhaps have her traps activate during Endgame?

Yeah, it'd look awesome lol.

"Literally gets free downs on ME"
Sorry dawg, rest is invalid.
Yes, ignore my post because I'm describing how some people are using it to create a situation where it's difficult for a survivor to do anything and actually learning the new killer instead of asking for buffs so soon.
-
Run Lithe, it's crazy good against Doc. If you get distance, you can just hold W and when he's about to catch up, loop him around a filler pallet (he counters jungle gyms, shacks and T and L walls).
-
10000000000000000 TIMES YES FROM ME! IT'S SO BAD I EVEN MADE A RANT ON IT! That and Dead Dawg Saloon are BS for both sides and should be top priority to be reworked. Check out my rant if you want. It didn't let me copy the link.

Wait on it.
@xBEATDOWNSx said:
200% fine where he is. If anything, he needs a little buff with the cooldown between using his power and going for a basic attack.
Hell no, it works fine right now Pyramid Heads literally get free downs on me by preventing vaults, and when I try to bait it, they just M1. If you had to, I'd personally reduce his punishment for missing his power attack a bit. So maybe from 3 seconds to 2.5?
