  • I was told a little while back when I made a topic that ruin is found within a minute of a games start that I shouldnt be relying on ruin.....and since it gets killed off half the time in most games within a minute it's not really gonna effect anything. If anything the new ruin might be better...

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

DS should deactivate if another person is hooked honestly

note i play red ranks on both sides and usually run DS (tho tbh rank doesnt mean much nowadays) so im not some salty killer main crybaby who cant hang with DS

I think it's fine as it is. As someone said it's only really irritating in endgame collapse. It's kinda needed for when people just decide to tunnel one person to screw them over.

  • Watch Ralph on twitch

  • I love it cause the other day a claudette tried to teabag me at the gate with her friends. Only had 1 person dead. I threw a hatchet she got downed and i got a hook. She didn't say anything in the endgame chat either lmfao.

  • Hahhhhh apparently you've never been on PS4

  • I notice a lot of people take it as an insult these days. Most seeing it as rude sadly to say. Especially if the game was far from good. Example being an side that just gets destroyed

  • I've been playing killer for a longggggg time (came from ps4 originally swapped to pc 2 months ago) and since archive forces us to use the other side to complete. I will say I understand survivors a bit better when they say it's frustrating when killers camp, tunnel etc. At the same time, I still to this day absolutely hate the toxic teabaggers who do it just to be buttholes. Especially when you kill 3/4 of them, one manages to get to the exit and teabags then proceeds fo talk crap like they bested you. Absolutely stunning how many dumb survivors there are that have a rude mentality. At the same time there are a fair amount of killers whom are the exact same way. So I feel I can say this.

    For survivor side:

I can understand why DS will never be nerfed like killers want it to be. It's the only real way to stop tunneling that I can even see. More often than not I see a lot of tunneling campers who do it specifically if they get looped for anything more than 30 seconds to a minute or pallet stunned for a while.

    Killers:

I completely see why we all want gen speed worked with. If I dont have hex ruin I get rushed down hard. Sadly hex for me usually spawns in the middle of the open and is down within 30 seconds. So alternatively I've had to start relying on doubling up with a backup pop and overcharge for some killers. Nothing feels worse as well than survivors teabagging at gate. Completely stupid and unneeded.

  • Really now..png

Just had this happen myself. Wouldn't be so bad if i wasn't still learning. Just really crappy that the people at bhvr let this go on. I get if im like rank 5 and getting rank 1,2,3 players, but rank 10? Really?

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

I would feel bad for you, if you weren't a Nurse, with ruin, and other extremely meta perks (noteably, ruin, on Nurse. OOF), and the survivors had perks that were actually game changing. They didn't.

Basically, if you lost to them, as a Nurse, with ruin, BBQ and Nurses Calling...I don't think it's the games fault, no matter the rank. You had a significant advantage.

Yikes to this comment. Every killer basically runs ruin. If you're a survivor and run Adren, DS, BT that's no better. It's literally in every single game. And not only that, but this matchmaking IS complete garbage. Im only rank 10 and keep getting rank 2 survivors myself. It wouldn't BE so bad, if half the high rank survivors weren't toxic af

I know that, it's just survivors can abuse the looping to the point that you can't catch them. Plus the nerf to nurse and spirit is crappy.

Now i know you're BSing, spirit didn't even really get a nerf. It's hardly one if you can call it that. A few addon tweaks and collision fix's? And vault fix? That's not even a nerf....

  • This is gonna turn into a warfield.

  • New idea for iridescent heads. Hitting someone with it makes them broken for 120 seconds instead of instant downing. Because even while i play huntress, i refuse to use iridescent heads because quite frankly, it's just not as fun. It takes the skill of the huntress and kinda makes it unskilled. Sure you have to aim, but if you're running it with belt, 3 hatchet tosses to instantly down someone for free? Not hard...

  • I've had people lie and tell me they weren't a 4stack, then you look at their friends list and find they are. Fun stuff. Best part is when you beat a 4stack and say GG and get complete silence. However, if a 4stack usually beats you, most are gg ez comments and rudeness.

    Hi guys,

(skip to the TLDR if you don't care about the theory and want to jump to the debate)

Iv'e been away for a 2 months and not played DBD until yesterday after hearing about the end game collapse. I jumped on a level 15 survivor i was levelling up. I played 6 games, and they were the most fun iv'e ever had on DBD.

I completed doing first gen, then spirit popped out of nowhere and got a solid hit on me. I ran and managed to hide. then i realised i didn't have self heal and the rest of the game was a tense sesion of hide and seek, occasionally getting chased and having to go into unsafe areas "basement / killer shack" in order to loot a potential med kit to heal.

My self and one other survivor escaped after partnering up to heal each other and perform some clutch hook saves during the end game collapse.

    TLDR

After my 6th game of hiding, running, searching chest and death anxiety i realised, this is what DBD is supposed to be. The game has become pallet loops, bum rushing hooks, butt dancing & in general, a lack of fear. This is because there is no downside to getting hit.

Every survivor has self care. it's tier 0. And when a perk or character gets this powerful, it needs a Nerf. For the sake of immersion, and before the game becomes stale.

Self care - simply put should only be able to be activated once. You get 1 extra life, and a bonus to med kit use, and that your lot. still powerful, but no longer broken and tier 0. The game becomes a horror game again and avoiding the killer is rewarded rather than charging him with near immortality..

This would also reduce face camping as killers would have a reason to go out and hit other survivors rather than knowing the second they leave that survivor is back offf the hook and on full hp with little downside.

Wasn't healing already nerfed at one point. Yeah let's nerf self care. Legit decision. better yet just remove it. Self care is not nearly as good as it could be. 50% the healing speed of a normal heal, a normal heal takes around 10 seconds less with addons that assist it. You can run botany knowledge to make it only 17% the normal speed. Thats 2 perks that you could be using to run something else though. People that bring self care honestly slow the game down quite a bit. When the game is about winning chases and optimizing time, if you take the time to heal with selfcare you're wasting 20 seconds+ of not doing gens. The game is still scary even with self care, but it's a 1v4 game...You won't really ever feel fear unless it's really a 1v1.. Leave selfcare alone...it's pretty average as it is. Doesn't need to be touched tbh

Just... just dont hook them! Or at least slug them, if they aren’t on the hook then they’ll have time to think about it. Or they might just DC and get the penalty. I’ve done this twice to people wanting to kill themselves and they ended up dcing because I didn’t let them die easily.

To clear something up I was playing legion with his new pin add on that brought survivors into the broken state and some people didn’t want to go against it and they wanted to leave their team, THATS why I didn’t kill them. I put myself in the perspective of the other survivors and thought “man that’d really suck if my teammates wanted to purposely die”. So either they’d decide to play normally, or dc with the new ban. Thanks for understanding.

Recently i've learned that if you go against a huntress with iredescent heads and belt, people will always insta leave. And purposely make you waste your addons. Same with mori. people would rather take a Depip than play in a game that will probably only last like 5 minutes tops. Think about it like the genrush argument. No one wants to wait in que only for the game to end in 3 minutes for them

I believe the game would survive and even thrive without SWF.

I can't even wrap my head around how the devs try to balance this game for Solo AAAAAAAND SWF Survivors but I guess there's a way (but not really...)

Getting rid of SWF would just be another thing they wouldn't have to concern themselves over and help the health and integrity of the game.

Sure there'd be a backlash (not from me tho) but people would still play. If you decide you don't want to play Dead By Daylight anymore because you can't team up with your friends to survive - then maybe this isn't the game for you.

However, stupid idea? I strongly disagree.

    Thanks!

That's extremely biased for 1 side. I main killer and even i can care less if it's a SWF. You can't win em all. And you need to consider killer to surv ratio. 1 to 4 per....So if you make a good portion of the playerbase angry and leave, i DOUBT the game would "Thrive". Hell yeah it's frustrating to get some toxic SWF, but not every single game is SWF.

  • You do understand that doing so will draw massive backlash. At this point it would be an extremely stupid idea to remove it lol

  • I mean, it's really only stupid strong when the survivors are good...

  • It's a little hard to justify things like perks vs addons. Killers have M2's etc to use with addons and offerings, survivors just have addons....And quite frankly, the nerfs to survivor as of lately have been pretty good. Much more balanced. However, we'll put it this way. It's a 1v4 game. It will never be 100% balanced. And killers are in a good spot. The nerf to nurse was justified because of how easily she bypassed the games general mechanics. Freddy changes were not even that bad. That's excessive complaining. Spirit's change wasn't even that bad. Still performs the same. Deep wonds R.I.P....and saddest part is that legion is my favorite killer mechanically.....Doctor change...eh...we'll see how it performs after. Oni change (Since it wasn't listed here) isn't that bad either. Sadly, others will probably lynch me for that comment.....(My killers that i main haven't been touched so i guess I can't really complain. -Pig, Clown, Huntress) xD

Nerf Moris, nerf hatch keys. Simple.

Yup. Nothing worse than playing and you kill 2 people and the other two escape via hatch. Mori and keys both hatch a prerequisite dont get me wrong, but both are dummy easy to get and they end the game prematurely.

100% sure? My friend took me into a KYF to show the instadown speed and I never saw him drop Blood Orbs with Lucky Break on. Was only about 5 minutes though.

Yes he still drops orbs. I played an oni while trying to do the stupid archive missions and we had a David with no mither. Oni was running the super rare addon, and we all saw David spawning orbs. Yeah the game ended in 3 minutes because oni was able to see where we were and he was getting free orbs while no one was injured because david. No mother is a free win for oni.

    Just genrush like normal.

Who cares? Play how you want. You're not there to babysit the survivors and make sure they have fun

Edit: but to answer your question, camping is when the killer doesn't leave the vicinity of a hooked survivor to allow a save. If survivors are smart, they'll punish this by dual stacking on gens. You can do 2 gens in 1 first phase of hook most times.

Tunneling is when the killer immediately goes after the unhooked person, and hooks them again without slugging or even caring that the other survivors exist.

Do them if you want. They're both punishable if the survivors aren't absolute dogcrap. They're gonna get salty but oh well

When I run into the same survivor somehow after they were unhooked I normally down them and leave them there. Some called me a toxic slugger for it...I mean.. I didnt want to kill them right away because I felt bad...but guess I'm the bad guy no matter what

  • @wydyadoit said:

oni gives purpose for no mither.

so therefore oni is not meyers.

A friend of mine mentioned that if you run no mither against, Oni, 1) most Oni will just expel their power to pick you up. 2) you're basically throwing because you're constantly creating blood orbs. I hear no mither is the worst possible thing against oni to have. And any killer with a brain would probably not leave a no mither user on the ground.

  • @Luune said:

Are some people in here seriously trying to blame the OP?

Yes, dcing isn’t the nicest solution. But why should he play the rules others make for him instead of just playing the game? For me that’s a solid reason to quit.

Also that “maybe he wants to farm”. Maybe some people just want to play the game and others force them to do the stuff they want them to. There is some reasons for dcing whether you want to believe it or not.

If I see someone doing that I usually down the dummy that is trying to sell out his teammate. The other killers in here though, are the type of people who already hold a biased view and hate survivors. So you're really only going to hear stuff like them defending the killer from them. Trust me, looking at some of those people attacking OP saying he made a mistake by not having certain perks, etc are just biased and ignorant. In a real scenario had that not happened there is a good chance that killer would probably not have found him. Most killers (smart ones) dont just waste time opening random lockers unless they're by a gen that was recently touched and they have zero leads. Even then they'd sooner walk away than check because it's a waste of time.

  • Y'all really like kickin salt at the other side don't you.

  • The word "challenge" in 2019 means "I don't want to try" and "They just wanna take my money" not sure how they correlate with eachother, but people still find a way to lump em in together. We live in an era of people who, if it's to hard, they just voice their anger to force change. Hard to imagine how anyone would be able to survive the older games of the past that had stupid dumb challenges.

  • A lot of these are NOT as hard as people are making them out to be. Sucks that you need a specific perk, i'd prefer it if they didn't all need to be done in 1 game either, as that drops the actual success factor....overall though they are definitely doable

  • @HealsBadMan said:

Weird situation happened in game, and people called me out for camping. I don't really think I was, but let me explain.

Was running Pig on Lery's with Amanda's Letter and Video Tape addons, perks were BBQ&C, PGTW, Ruin, and Spies (this is the important one), and I'm in purple ranks. After the game's been going on for a bit, I hooked Survivor 1. Survivors 2 and 3 were injured, and Survivor 4 was healthy. As I'm about to leave the hook, I get Spies going off in a line- someone's coming to the hook. I think its the healthy guy, so I hide and crouch so I can trade him for the hooked survivor. I hear him coming, see his aura, ambush... its one of the injured survivors, and he goes down. Lucky me!

As my ambush cooldown ends, Spies goes off AGAIN in another direction- "This has to be the healthy guy, no way these survivors are that dumb." I hide again, hear him, see the aura and ambush... ITS THE SECOND INJURED GUY! I'm laughing my butt off, but then...

Spies goes off AGAIN. I couldn't believe it- this guy just saw me down 2 people next to the hooked survivor, and he's rushing the hook! So for the third time- hide, crouch, hear, aura, ambush, and hit the last guy- he's injured now. Instead of unhooking or healing one of the two downed guys, he runs to a pallet! After a dozen seconds or so of looping, I down him. Now the hooked guy just died, and I have three downed survivors.

With BBQ and Amanda's Letter, I found them quickly and hooked them. As they all died, I figured matchmaking put me with green or yellow ranks... but nope! They were all purple, and the hooked guy was red! They were super salty, calling me a camper- it was great! But honestly, they never gave me a chance to leave- they rushed the hook one by one, ignoring how the others got ambushed, and never went to heal or unhook. I'm not camping if happens, right?

TL;DR Survivors rushed the hook one by one w/o healing each other, so I downed them one by one. I knew they were coming cause of Amanda's Letter and Spies from the Shadows.

You aren't supposed to just let them do it. Soooo no. It's called a survivor was being dumb xD Or overly altruistic

if you wanna be nice about it

Slugging is not a counter, its just a delaying tactic. A counter is something that prevents an action from occurring or negates its deleterious effects. Slugging barely even mitigates it as they can just be picked up by another survivor or if they have unbreakable.

That is literally a counter. Slugging makes the perk go away AND stalls. That is literally what stops the perk from going off. Or just not tunneling down a survivor literally renders the skill useless. There are few scenarios you should get hit by DS. Most common case are last minute saves when the gate is opened and tunneling a specific survivor. If you tunnel. Not gonna lie, you kinda deserve to be DS'ed. Only time I tunnel, which I deserve to get DS'd if they have it, is when people break hooks. Hook breakers gotta go.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/107666/ds-rewards-failure-just-like-noed

Look... I passionately hate DS in its current state, more because of how survivors behave during those 60 seconds, rather than having a direct hate at the perk itself.

Despite my resentment I absolutely cannot see the correlation between DS and NOED.

Also for the record, NOED does NOT reward failure. The killers goal is NOT to prevent 5 gens from being repaired. It is to catch and kill/sacrifice survivors. If the killer achieves this with (or without) NOED then they haven’t failed at all.

The reason why is the toxic version of us killers call DS a reward for failing. Constantly I see them saying "because you played poorly you got caught, and ds is a free tool to fix the messup, it rewards players for playing bad." (Thrn turn around and complain doing objective takes no skill, so by most peoples logic doing objective in anything in this game is not skilled, whether its looping or gens, or downing survivors etc.) honestly, DS is really only a bandaid. The counter to it is obviously not picking a survivor up. Just like survivors also call NoED a second chance perk or one that fixes messups. While our objective doesnt end until the survivors escape, the same thing is said for survivors. Use whatever it takes to win is the way I see it. And you win some and lose some. Lol

  • As a killer player, i generally dislike the perk because of how easily it can be deactivated if people just take out my totems. Only time i've tried really using it is for the recent endgame collapse mission. However, I can kinda see why, because NoED is almost in the same lane as DS where it's a cop out skill. Sure you 100% can't counter DS (You technically can counter this perk by not camping or tunneling off hook though), but it's the idea of a second chance perk. You failed to stop the survivors before the gates were completely open and now have a movement speed increased 1 shot ability. People don't like DS because it's a second chance perk. You get to get away for free, NoED is a second chance perk, where you get downs for free. It's the same concept. Only one is weaker overall because it actually has counterplay. Even once it activates, any smart survivor though, that's willing to help will look for the totem and destroy it THEN go help their teammate...assuming they didn't bumrush the gate and open it. Then they limit their time. It's overall as sweaty as DS. The problem with both these perks are they're essentially useless if the right requirements are met. DS is don't play like a butthole (only time I see it being really used is the very endgame where they just got off the hook, you down them, and then go to put them back and they get away free) if not, it makes DS a wasted skill slot. NoED is the same, survivors do objective B which is totems, it's a basically useless perk.

  • "Statistically, the Clown, Demogorgon, and Nurse have the lowest kill rates in red ranks." Recently right because before the nerf im pretty sure she was near the highest

  • The best counter i've found is just don't tunnel. Only way it ever happens is if someone gets a unhook at last minute for the game while exits are open, or if i'm completely destroying a team so bad that they end up all being downed around the same area. Most games DS is just a wasted perk slot as I don't get hit by it that often

  • "Stop listening just some people complaining." Wow this is the most contradicted/hypocritical post I've seen on this forum so far...

  • I dont use Myers. (Pig and clown) what exactly does the mirror do?

  • Problematically if you're playing with randoms as a survivor it can be hard to use the time they're camping to your advantage because there is no communication between people. Often more than not someone will try to save the one being camped. Even with the raising hand on hook thing. If it's a coordinated team it's basically a free win.

killer mains, because we matter as well, without us, you have no games

This is a...not so smart statement to say it nicely. Without either side there is no game. Buffs and nerfs happen I'm every game and quite frankly these arent even crazy. Nurse got worse than this.

  • If they dont fix the crap FPS rate on ps4 dont bother cross playing because PC is already easier to play than PS4 or Xbox. The games frames chug constantly and you have less control of your camera on ps4. If I run through the cornfield as killer on ps4 my fps literally drops to negative 60.

Fix that then you can consider cross platform. Even if it's an option to turn it on or not. It would probably be less used. Or you can let us transfer our accounts to steam. Then I'd say it's good

  • Busy being OP and not giving a crap about the forums probably. And with how often you can change your name it's hard to pin down one unless they're a famous streamer.

    Decisive nerf

    Instaheals

    Palletvacuum (thank god)

    Windowvault nerf

    Flashlight nerf

    Medkit change

    Mettle of man nerf

    Killers mainly lost

Nurse S++ Tier to A teir at best

    Legion nerf

    Enduring nerf

Can someone confirm if the pigs traps used to go off in general when you went out exits? I feel like they did even if they were not activated. Or maybe i was wrong...

I bet you are unable to loop nurse, you sound like you didn't know mpre than running around pallets.

Why does everyone have to attack people who have a differing opinion? They're absolutely right, a killer that bypasses all of the general mechanics is not exactly good for the game. I think personally instead of gutting her like they did, they should have just took every addon away like how they have it now. No more omega blinks. That would have been enough to make it pretty fair as it is. Now you just need to be precise. To be fair, once a nurse found you, it was basically a down. It's extremely hard to lose her even if she misses a lot. Before everyone was saying shes unenjoyable to play against. Nurse mains didnt care, now nurse mains are saying shes unenjoyable to play. And survivors dont care. Happens.

  • I'm doing survivor stuff. Not a high rank survivor only rank 9. Had a campy tunnel freddy who let 1 of the teammates go to instant phase 2 hook cause he wouldnt leave. Over the game time he whittled us down, combined with the laggy servers (deadharded and got hit, cooldown went off, but my character got hit resulting in me sliding all over the ground for a second) we all die, (I play on PS4 btw) and the clown for whatever reason messages me saying "Too good" I sent him a "?" He said "I'm too good" I said "I guess" then let him know one of my teammates sent me a message saying he was tunnely. Quite a bit (which I noticed, he didnt ever really go far from hooks and if he saw the person get unhooked hed just stop chasing and tunnel whoever got off hook) then tried to say "Nah, I'm to fast your guys moves were just predictable I could read easy" blah blah. Completely unnecessary. Would it kill people to just say GG? It's annoying to listen to people stroke their own egos. Try to be graceful. And people wonder why people get so toxic from both sides. Literally people spreading their filth. The fact you have to go out of your way to message me on ps4 to try and tell me you're too good. There was no teabagging, no nothing. I'll accept tunneling -points if Survivors get points removed to teabagging after dropping a pallet, teabagging at the exit gates, flashlight spam...Should I go on?

Survivors are just as toxic, so don't act like this is a Killer only thing. I get flamed in every match for my Killer choice, my perks, my addons, my playstyle..

If I found someone who was healing BY ACCEDENT; I'm tunneling.

If I grab someone off a gen; it's being a troll.

If I hook someone and stay nearby because I ACTIVELY SEE TWO PEOPLE GOING FOR A SAVE; I'm camping.

Survivors on here are hypocrites; they claim Killers play like trolls while flaming everyone and demanding all Killers follow made up rules or they will DC.

To be fair both sides are hypocrites and whiners. Glass houses. If not pot calling the kettle black. The community as a whole cries about every single thing the other side does. And they both pick on eachother. This who game is pretty toxic.
