But there is a chance that there is no hills on the map making the perk useless. If they want that change they should add a guaranteed hill on every map
They could give it some slight buffs to make up for the no stagger ofc but I haven't thought that far.

Fixing the Maps would fix the problem. Haddonfield will still not be a Map where you want to be as Killer.
BL should stay like it is, but what could be possible would be that the Stagger Reduction only applies while healthy. This would remove some of the problematic areas if the Killer gets a Hit before (taking the Speed Boost from the Hit to run to the Myers House for example) and also give a reason to heal for BL-Users, which also wastes some time.
But overall: Map Fixes over crippling Perks.
Fixing maps also takes a lot longer than just making one change to a perk.
Balanced landing also limits creativity. Haddonfield is nowhere near as oppressive without Balanced Landing than with (granted it is still a problem). When devs have to juggle around balancing a tile (where BL can be used ofc) to still be viable without BL but not be oppressive with it, someone always gets screwed over.
It's not feasible to balance between BL users and non-BL users because either one side gets screwed or one side becomes op.
Even if it only worked as healthy it would still mean you could abuse any such tile while healthy.
-
It wouldn't fix the problem. The reduced stagger is the main effect that causes problems on maps like haddonfield. They need to do something about the stagger.

Maybe having two versions of themselves? Like the entity taking rin before the murder maybe? Or having the spirits soul split in two and one became a killer and another became a survivor?
Well I suppose because the entity can take any person from any point in time, it could take Rin before his father even snapped? I'm fairly certain the entity can take people from parallel dimensions as well so it could be possible for it to take another Rin from a different reality where she didn't die.
-
That does kinda seem like cheating. Making the killer have a larger red stain can be a big deal in some situations.
-

Someone said that the devs have stated in a stream that there can be a survivor version of a killer. Idk it's that true or not.
Iirc, the survivors can become killers (maybe something to do with losing hope and succumbing to the entity's wishes?) but I don't know if it works the other way around.

it's just a proposal for how hexes should work. If they can possibly have a scenario where they no longer have any effect but were not yet cleansed, they should deactivate and the totem should become dull. NOED was just an example (I was using it for a challenge)
Noed is the only hex perk that is not lit straight from the beginning of the game. This change would only buff noed and it does not need a buff atm.

Demo would lose all ability to defend portals.
Why I said mainly. I don't think demo would be affected as much (at least how I play demo but I don't main him so I wouldn't know for sure).
-
The thing is, it would be a nice buff for sure but it would only end up crippling a few select killers (Legion and Ghostface mainly).

So we just made camping stronger by removing the only counterplay for it and we just "accept" that? Nice logic mate.
Camping is already countered by doing gens. I was thinking more along the lines of survivors rushing hooks when the killer hasn't even left yet because they have BT.
-
Just don't unhook if the killer is there and it's not a problem.

I'm not sure what that has to do with having two Rins? It's not like Rin was pulled into the realm as a Survivor and then gradually turned into a Killer.
Yeah, that is kinda true.
Still fun to think about.

No it just pulls people from time.
It can't just pull the same character from 2 different points in time at least not yet. It's never happened.
Well just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it can't happen.

@TAG said:

No it doesn't. The Spirit is Rin. Rin is the Spirit. I don't have a dog in this fight, but that just doesn't make sense.
Why not? Iirc some killers (not sure if it was any that we know of) we're first survivors and with time became killers. The concept of time is also very different in the entity's realm so lorewise it could maybe work.

That'll remain to be seen. It might be similar to when myers stalks where he loses collision but can still be stunned.

aim at their head or a little bit below, if you see the beam shrinking it means you are blinding them and when it flashes that means you got it
also don’t try to blind spirits at pallets it just doesn’t work for someone who reason
It doesn't work because she is so short that when she looks down to break the pallet, there isn't an angle to blind her. Same goes with Hag.
-
Why should the totem deactivate? No other hex perk does without being cleansed.
-
The collision only gave The Spirit free hits on survivors unlucky enough to bump into her while she was invisible. This will only increase her skillceiling (even if it isn't by much).
-
The rift is the battlepass, the tome is the 4 levels with challenges. You don't need to complete the tome to complete the rift.

I guess I've suffered enough disappointment following my excitement, then. Too jaded to care about something I cannot see in action.
Some people get excited. Some don't. Don't need to ruin other peoples excitement though just because you're not.

"Lucrative" is not synonymous with "attractive". It is never lucrative to buy an account from a shady website. Leaving that aside, since I understand it wasn't really your point, it is essentially still the same thing. Whether it's paying for something or having to be in the right place at the right time, it's still an access condition imposed by the developers. And people unable or unwilling to meet that access condition may still seek to obtain the item by other means.
The fact that the exclusive cosmetics are not ongoingly available from the developers in the way that the game or the auric cells are is irrelevant; the point is that the scams are ongoing in either case. What they are doing is attempting to stop the scams by tanking the value of the item. But putting a stop to those scams by making the cosmetics universally available makes no more sense than putting a stop to the sale of false copies of the game itself by making it free-to-play.
My bad, I meant appealing instead of lucrative.
It does make sense to give the exclusives out to everyone. By reducing the amount of exclusives the devs are reducing the amount of scams that will happen because now people won't have to go on shady sites to buy that (previously) unobtainable cosmetic. That (fictional) guy that wanted to buy dweard now won't have to so bhvr just reduced the amount of scams that will happen.
You will never be able to stop scams, even if you make the game and dlcs free. Just because of the grind, it can be more appealing for some to buy a maxed out account instead of getting the game free and playing to earn those unlocks. Yes, some people will go that far.
Because bhvr were not selling these outfits either, they aren't losing any profit by giving them out for free so it is an easy way to protect their players from the threats they created in the first place by giving out exclusive codes.
-
What I have a problem with is not being able to grab survivors who opened the hatch with a key. There is no way of stopping a survivor who has a key from jumping into the hatch (except tunneling them, duh). Especially annoying when you're chasing them and they just happen bump into it and then just *poof*, they're gone.

I wouldn't call this a solution to either of those issues.
Yes, technically this means that people won't randomly lose exclusive items. But the reason they were losing them in the first place wasn't because of the exclusivity itself, it was because of a bug in the way exclusive items were coded. So the solution is not to just give the items to everybody, the solution is to fix the darn code. Perhaps by using the same code which they use to assign store-bought items to some players' accounts and not others.
And yes, technically this means that people will no longer be able to scam others by pretending to sell exclusive skins online. But that's not the devs' problem to fix, nor is it their responsibility. People sell counterfeit copies of the game itself online which don't actually work - should the devs just make the game free to play to stop them from doing that? There are probably fake auric cell packs being sold on dodgy websites for "discounted" prices. Should the developers make auric cells free to stop that from happening?
I'm not commenting on the ethical ramifications of giving the cosmetics away for free - I'm just saying that the stated reasons for doing so were heavily logically flawed.
There is a difference, the game and auric cells are always available to buy meanwhile codes for exclusive skins are not sold by bhvr and we're never meant to be sold. If they gave the players who previously owned any of the skins some kind of new exclusive skin, people would still be able to sell accounts with those exclusive skins.
It's all about the barrier to entry. Even if legacy and a few others are still exclusive, it was a lot more convenient to buy a code and just redeem it on your account than it is to buy a whole new previously owned steam account just so you can have a few exclusive cosmetics to play with. The fewer exclusives the game has, the less lucrative it becomes to buy an account from one of those shady websites.

Ok then.

@AbstractPolygon said:
Making legacy exclusives would fix the problem of codes being sold if the exclusives are all given out which is what Behaviour claim their main reasoning is whilst also honouring people that owned the skins before. What all you are doing is making this about hating exclusives and wanting all exclusives banned forever. Exclusivity is a lucrative marketing tactic almost all companies use to increase the sales of their products - e.g mcdonalds coming out with limited time food ranges and supreme having limited time one time only clothing drops. Exclusivity is in all markets everywhere and just a part of them all.
Even if exclusivity is a thing doesn't mean it's a good thing. It is a disgusting marketing strategy trying to exploit consumers into buying something now because it might not ever come back.
I'm glad BHVR is taking a stance and saying no to exclusives.

There still isn't a clear tell as to when she is phasing which is one of her core issues. Sure it is a good change to make her lose collision while phasing since that only gave you free hits if you happened to bump into a survivor.
-
She still doesn't have a clear tell as to when she is phasing which is one of the core issues with her.

I know tomes last forever but if you haven't done a challenge in a tome during it's specific rift, can you complete it during another rift and claim the rift fragments?

It had something to do with where they were stored in the files, at least that's what I read from one of Peanits comments on the post itself. It would cause these cosmetics to be lost at random during new patches.
It can be quite a hassle to return all these cosmetics that're lost.
Here's a quote from Peanits 1st common on that post.
"Unfortunately the way these event cosmetics were stored made it possible for certain players to lose them at random. They would need to be returned manually, but doing so ran the risk of causing further loss of progress."
Yes I read that comment in the dev blog but is it no possible to somehow update those items so they couldn't be lost? (I am not tech savvy so I have no idea if this could even be possible)
It is a shame that people still won't get back their lost legacies though :(
-
I can get people being mad if they paid for something but someone else gets it for free, but something that they essentially got for free (even if you got a code from PAX, even if you attended PAX mainly because of that code, most likely you did not attend PAX only for that code) I can't get behind.
-
The amulet was a jack of all trades. It needed a nerf.
The increased time in phase can be interesting though and you can always use another add-on that adds speed to counteract the speed reduction.
Guess we'll see on the ptb.

I don't find that a perk should be based on luck ...
Hex perks are all based on luck. If you don't want to rely on luck then don't use hex perks, simple.

Blah blah blah. Sounds like you have been living under a rock for the last year.
Really I wonder where have you been if you don't know that solo queue is ######### up badly, don't make yourself look like an idiot.
Sounds like a you problem. Don't know what region or platform you play on so it could be different for you.
-
Ruin is a gamble. Either you get huge value or you lose a perk. If ruin were to become a normal perk it would need to be nerfed immensely.
-
Wow, that is pretty crap. Did they do anything about your lost progress?
-
Agree with pretty much everything here. Good analysis 👍
-
I hope they bring back the Christmas bloodweb at least.
-
On the part about attending PAX to get code: People didn't attend PAX just to receive cosmetics for DbD. And even if someone did, they probably didn't do it just because of the cosmetics, there must've been something else they did there as well which means they didn't spend all that money just for the cosmetics.
-
Some of Billy's add-ons do need changing but his basekit is fine imo.
-
The Spirit nerfs aren't even that bad. Only two nerfs to basekit and nerfing a few op add-ons.
This will only increase Spirit's skillceiling.
-
Your comparison doesn't make any sense.
-
I think part reason was also because of people recently (and in the past) losing some of these exclusive cosmetics (some that are not unlocked by code like the hound mask for Huntress and untamed donkey jacket for David).
I don't know how or which of these cosmetics could be lost somehow as I've never owned any other except Kate's songbird shirt and pro-pain Billy hammer.
I do understand the sentimental value of these items for some but it is also very depressing for some to know that they'll never unlock these comsetics, ever (until now ofc).
There is still Legacy which will not come back that old school players can use.

It does ? , When you hit like level 10 it tells you the entity has woken up
Iirc it doesn't specifically say it eats the perk first so I don't blame the op for being confused.

Great suggestions!
Bloodlust atm is just a safety net at unsafe pallets. If a survivor can read a killers mindgames enough times at an unsafe pallet, they'll eventually get hit because the killer just becomes so fast that they can just run around the loop until they hit you.

I honestly don't get the fact that the challenges get harder but the rewards stay the same.

Billy and leatherface literally have the same add-ons with the expectation of leatherface chili add-ons. Like the devs didn't even have the audacity to give unique add-ons that make sense for his chainsaw. Don't get much similar then that lol
True but even if the add-ons are copies does not mean the powers are.
It would also make sense for a spark plugs and such to work on both chainsaws. LF doesn't have thompon mix either so they did make some add-ons that fit the respective characters.
-
I'm more interested in the lore. What the new killer is and how it's connected to Spirit (maybe even the survivor is somehow connected).
-
I haven't played much Nurse due to issues with dedicated servers and blinking, but the time I played I can say I did not enjoy. I didn't despise it either but I won't be picking her, at least for a while.
Just because something was not successful before, does not mean bhvr should refrain from doing that. The devs are not out to ruin the fun of their players, the would be incredibly stupid of them.
What currently however is ruining the fun of a lot players is Spirit. Even if you don't agree with it, she is killing too well for one reason or another so they have to do something.
I do not want bhvr to butcher her, I really don't, but keeping her how she is not gonna fix the problem.
