My problem is that you can't really improve with him because 0 skill expression on both side when playing Knight
-
He will be nerfed after few years

@fulltonon said:
Not much "being nice", but when I intentionally let easy target escape it can easily ends up with losing lol.
Yeah that's a big no as killer.
-
Yeah when I spread the hooks around, survivors end up thanking at endgame chat saying EZ.
So now I always tunnel when given the opportunity(recognized the weakest link)

I will never understand why people play killer just to -> not want to chase = actually play the game. <-
Like, go play another game, then.
Power role, killing everyone, while they are struggling hopelessly, yet they cannot escape their fate.
And deciding if the last one live or die.
Best game for stomping, because MMR barely works
-
Her perks are mostly useless, and she got nerfed since her drones can be hacked by survivors wearing claw traps.
So she isnt even good at anything anymore
So if they don't change her, I won't be getting

This post was inspired by my hatred of Knight, and seeing him in almost every other game lately. He is what I mean by anti-loop, those guards are so boring.
I like going up against Michael Myers, Wesker, Blight, and a lot of other killers. It's just Knight, man. And Nurse too. But this post was mostly inspired by Knight. I don't know why they designed him like that. His hook camping is so annoying too.
It takes all the fun out of my games because being chased is the best part of DBD as a survivor main.
Knight will be extremely popular because its impossible to loop, and has 0 skill expression, so you can destroy survivors even with very little xp, and using the 3 gen exploit.
-
@Gamall said:
They can spawn because S tier killers exist and can counter them.
You simply had the misfortune of using one of the poorest killers in chase
Demo is very bad at chase I do agree
-
Got nerfed actually, since survivors can hack drones even with claw traps on

She's never been a common killer since I started playing back in 2017. Always been one of the least played killers by far. Only Twins competes with her for the rarity.
Twins is the rarest

Tbf, there's not much they could've buffed without making her stronger at 3 genning. Her power is territorial by design. But I reckon this is another case of Knight disease that makes trials last until the 1 hour limit. Which I don't think is what the game needs right now.
At least, she'll get good cosmetics.
This is how you should play killers btw.
If knight can do it then SM should do it too.
Also if you are so concerned about gen holding, then you should ask for slowdown nerfs.
But BHVR just walked back on Eruption nerf, so will be still good choice for any genholder lol.
Another problem if they nerf gen holding, then most killer has nothing, and survivors would have nerfed to the ground

@Xendritch said:
I don't know why we're celebrating the continuation of kicking gens constantly like a bot meta but okay.
Gen kick meta is saved, thanks BHVR.
Will run it
-
I will use it on every killer, thanks.
-
His power is taken from Nurse and Blight a mix of them, there are only so many ways to clone those again and again

No matter how childish this post is, I understand the feeling. Playing survivor is frustrating and miserable as f. I remember 2-3 fun matches out of hundreds at best.
Maybe to play survivor you have to have some loser mentality or something, otherwise it is literally painful.
You have to be masochist to enjoy SoloQ survivor, or extremely casual player who are just messing around, and all cares about few chase here and there, dont want to think, just enjoy the predetermined game based on MMR RNG, which is favours killer mains. The matchmaking almost completely random, and its a team game, and if your random useless, then you lost from the start.
As killer if you are mediocre or even better good, then you can easily 3-4k most of your games, true there will be like 15-20% games at worst case which going against proper SWF but on other hand you can be sadist vs Solo teams, you really feel powerful for most of the time.
SoloQ survivor is enjoying the pain thats all there is to it

The OP's experience is valid. I'd say 20-30% of my survivor games involve the killer trying to make the game as miserable as possible for the other side. I've been bled out and hooked with a few seconds left on my bleedout timer lately. Plus there's a 50% chance that a solo queue lobby is a 10-20 minute cutscene with a pre-determined outcome due to matchmaking. I'm honestly just waiting and hoping for another game in this genre to actually be good. Sunk cost fallacy is the biggest thing keeping me playing.
You should play killer instead, if you are playing Solo, then killer is the only choice you have in this game.

Killer is definetely harder and more stressful to play. Maybe easier on pc but on console survivor is clearly the easiest role. Only disadvantage is you can't 360s as fast but otherwise there is hardly difference compared to pc. That's why im survivor main. I mostly only play killer when the bonus is up as it makes killer bearable.
For me is more stressful if I dont have any control, and for SoloQ it is true, I have 0 control, sure it might be relaxing for some that, your skill and input barely matter, and always can blame teammates, because in the end its mostly luck.
While killer requires skill and cant blame anyone else, everything on you. However you are rewarded with complete control how the game flows, you have several gameplay tactics available. You are in full control.

There seems to be a sentiment I've noticed where some folks expect a PTB to be like, wholly optional stuff? As in, BHVR should be willing and able to fundamentally change things between PTB and live, based on community feedback. I'm not sure how that could even work on a purely practical level, let alone it being a desirable outcome.
This game's killers (and most other game's new content for that matter) aren't designed by committee, they're not getting feedback on whether a power or lore concept is a good idea. They're getting feedback for bugs, balance issues, and other such gamefeel related things. That's why the buffs from PTB to live are usually just small number buffs, that's what the PTB is for.
The stuff on the PTB is like, mostly finished. No game studio in their right mind would put this much time and effort into something they're willing to scrap and change on a fundamental level, that'd be an insane misuse of resources.
Exactly, and the issue is sometimes that BHVR listen too much.
If they would redesign every killer based on feedback, the game would shut down.

Killer is too frustrating nowadays and it always feels like the outcome is out of my hands. This is why I only play survivor.
Just a question, Do you have any control playing as SoloQ Survivor?
I feel like killer is still better place than SoloQ survivor

What do you expect then?
Expecting to rework the killer into a chase one and make her face melted, half robotic, and a tragic backstory or the doctor clone where she started experiment on herself to make herself into a disgusting robot.
Meanwhile release a shirtless male model survivor or killer into game, but thats fine.
-
Its essentially a third health state for survivors about 3 out 4 survivors runs it.
Its extremely annoying to deal with, its overpowered and needs a proper nerf, makes chases last very long
-
@BenOfMilam said:
Pretty much exactly why I don't run Scourge Hooks. It sucks when they are all placed in areas you aren't planning to defend, but they feel OP if you get a Pain Res in the middle of your 3 gen.
Who'da thunk that RNG reliant perks are inconsistent?
Yeah its very RNG reliant so I dont think its good at all
-
The only thing they should, buff Skull Merchant, but they really should ignore baby cries about her not being a Doctor clone oh she started to swap her body parts to be robot like LOL, or a female with tragic backstory as usual, she is just a victim!!!.
-
SoloQ is extremely weak, so I understand that you don't like to play it, it's the simple truth you have no control over SoloQ games as survivor.
So yeah if you are solo, then you should play killer, 99% of streamers only playing killer, or do SWF only with friends or viewers. Even players like Ayrun who have 30k+ hours on survivor, rarely playing SoloQ anymore, it's mostly killer or SWF.
-
Sure but his add-ons must go in that case
-
There are 2 approach of game design:
1, Nerf, best for PvP competitive style games
2, Power creep, if you buff underused perks to be better then others also need to buff other perks. In short the power level is going up all the time. It isnt good for competitive PvP style games.
-
You can't win vs good survivors without tunneling, the gen speeds are simply too fast with 4 survivors. You need to take out 1 as soon as possible. Or you lose.
Exception if you mastered an S+ tier killer, like Nurse or Blight.
Otherwise you must tunnel or camp to win
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I don't know why, but I always get insane players when I play Demo, and I don't play him that much. Matchmaking has always felt weird on Demo. Consistently hard matches. But I have a 10 game win streak going on Knight. And I don't remember the last time I lost on Nurse. It makes no sense.
I think its just Demo very weak, honestly one of the worst killer in my book.
Sure base kit myers, and Trapper worse.

No. Any addon-dependent killer is worthless in my book.
What, you have to farm to make it usable? Hell no.
This.

Happens quite often on this map, also on swamp almost 2 spawned to near each other, and the third very close by, surprised how could even be that allowed.

Now I got higher at MMR with killer and noticed that games lot harder, and the incentives are on killer even on afternoon.

I've 1500 hours, all killers are at least level 3 ( some level 6 or 10 )
I don't care at all about levelling up survivors, maybe that's the reasons, i've always 1k BP left
Yeah there isnt much point leveling up survivors, they are just skin
-
Tunneling and camping is a must against good teams or even mediocre teams, taking out a survivor early out of the game, means I won the game.
If you give me bonus, to not tunnel, I will only take it if the team is very weak, and I dont need to tunnel.
However if team is good, then I will tunnel anyway.
The only thing that could make worthwhile to keep survivors alive if that would be bigger slowdown than killing one.
So I guess if 4 survivor alive +100% gen repair time, so instead of 90 sec, survivors take 180 seconds to repair a gen. Then yeah I wouldnt tunnel lol.
-
They fixed it

To be fair the 3 gen issue is just as much the fault of perks like CoB and overcharge as it is knights power. The gen kick meta is a problem in general not to knight specifically
For where knight can camp a 3 gen trickster can easily camp a hook
But the problem is that the community wants the game to be slowdown based, so its part of the game.
Just remember the meltdown that eruption nerf causing and caused.
-
It depends in my killer games, there is 50% chance that they will do this, or there are good ones, who dont struggle so they give no time to find the last survivor.
However it doesnt matter because I will let the last survivor to escape anyway.
-
No, killers should be valued at basekit.

They better not if they think a riggity band-aid fix like that is going to make this killer worth buying their about to find lint in their pockets then
Maybe increase the claw trap duration if we are lucky...
I just expect the laziest bandaid which won't fix the core problems
-
I think they just will increase the exposed duration and thats all

Just imagine you are going against a protag with plot armor

lol they will never do that, look at twins and knight.
They are on a schedule of new content every 3 months regardless of how bad or buggy the dlc is, it will be dropped on the day they said. Blame their higher ups who set this schedule
A live service game also needs constant new contents

Wanted a shirtless vittorio android/shirtless trickster, or a female melted face killer robot, more likely

Legion could be beaten by survivors.

It's not a problem that they are nerfing Eruption. The problem is how they are nerfing it. It will be meh perk that almost no one will use, like more than half the other killer perks. That's not how you balance perks. It's like either it is OP or it is bad.
The alternative was that they do a little nerf on it, and still everyone running it
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
Some people didn't realize how good they got with modern DBD.
All these complaints because of the eruption nerf which is definitely not a healthy perk for the game, everyone with 2 neurons knows this and if you are a person who depends on a specific perk to win, sorry to inform you and seem a little rude but you are bad. You wouldn't last 1 minute in the infinite of old maps and I brought facts.
Me and a few other old players survived things that you newbie killer players would never endure, so stop crying over a perk and GET GUD.
" But BHVR nerfed eruption and left DH as it is"
I do not care!!!!!!!!!
Sorry guys, today I have a tolerance of 0.
Agreed I couldn't even play Killer during that timeline, it was extremely hard, the game was very survivor sided back then

The stats which show actually nothing and even the devs tell you not to use them as such and they are meant for abit of fun.
Thankyou for clearing that up for me, you are yet another person doing double standards. Most nurses struggle hence why she has the lowest kill rates of all the killers but you're saying it's okay to keep buffing survivors (who have the ability to be way stronger than majority of the roster and all if the matchmaking works) because most are bad but not buff nurse for the bad nurses which is the majority.
Double standards, made up stats and use the stats devs share and warn people not to draw conclusions from but just for fun. Conversations over for me, you cant talk to people who tick those boxes sorry but either treat both roles equally or your opinion means far far less as you're being one sided.
Its 1 vs 4.
Asymmetrical game, by definition the game can't ever be balanced.
It's the only game in the genre, the only big one is Identity V, and that game is even more survivor sided than dbd.
I know what you want, you ask that a good killer to get 50% chance to win vs a perfect 4 man SWF on comms.
What you don't realize, there is only about 1-4% of survivor playerbase fits the description.
While to master the killer is so much easier, because you don't need teamplay, you don't to rely on others, if you are skilled get huge over 96-99% of teams, sure you are autolose against the perfect survivor teams but against everything else, you have advantage.
Also high MMR killer outnumbering the high MMR survivor teams, because once again to be good at survivor you need 4 perfect survivor player, and work as team.
For a killer only 1 player enough so can do strategy tactic lot easier

TBF, when I play Knight, I try not to do it but somehow Survivors manage to regularly 3gen themselves of their own accord. It's just bizarre to watch.
Its strongly encouraged by some killer player though, only patrolling the 3 closest gen and then saying survivors managed to 3 gen themselves, when it was because killer refused to leave the 3 closest gen from the start
