  • It would be too complex for the casual audience dbd aiming and designed for

To be fair the only thing really making Blight op is his add ons which need looked at.Nurse is still op in the right hands and again needs looked at,but similarly the situation with healing was ridiculously hard for new killer players to cope with especially as due to dwindling killer numbers they were sometimes thrown into matches with survivors way above their skill level all carrying med kits with add ons and circle of healing, the changes are actually imo making the game more balanced.

Leave Nurse alone, she already barely seen

A Streamer (WimaTV) got a 500 winstreak, and than he and his friends just stopped because it was so boring just doing gens XD

    in 2020 you mean?

Back then when a whole team could escape through hatch with a key etc

That was a very different world

  • I dont think that Blight will ever get nerfed, last time they did buff his addons, I think if he gets anything will be another buff.

Maybe after someone reached 2000+ win in row with him, might get one addon changed at max

First, it's 60% win rate for all players on average. There are going to be individual players with 80-90% kill rates and players with 10-20% kill rates, because they are outliers to the average.

We are talking about killer winrate of 1000 wins, 0 loses. So actually his winrate right now would 100%, if counted for all his games I wouldnt doubt it being like 99,99% killrate. Blight is a disgusting killer, extremely overpowered, should be nerfed to the ground

  • Also did you know that devs aiming for 60% killrate?

It'll be a 60% winrate if the player in question lose the next 666 matches in a row....

  • @MikeyBoi said:

Getting 10 wins in a row in competitive gameplay against survivors who actually know how to counter blight is way more impressive then getting 1000 wins on a row against pub survivors who run and cant look behind them which was pretty much all his games trust.

Competitive gameplay has nothing to do with how dbd is played, usually banning perks and addons, and even victory counted differently. Thats not real gameplay.

Real gameplay is at pub games, without any kind of restriction, and thats where killers like Blight cant ever lose a game, on top players hand. I wouldnt surprised if he wanted he could make it 10k+ win in a row, Blight with addons so broken.

But there is a very big favoritism towards blight, and commonly abused to get free and easy wins, never get nerfed, and exploits still there years later.

From what I understand, some people just don't like that someone can win that many games, because for some arbitrary reason they've decided that anyone playing dbd should lose X amount of games out of every Y games.

Do you think its balanced that a player can win 1000+ games in a row at the highest level?

Why cant we see 1000+ win streak SWF? Hell I cant even see 100+ win in a row for survivors (at least 3 people escape)

  • @I_CAME said:

Do you think killers would be happy for a SWF if they achieved a 1000 game win streak? Or would the conversation immediately shift to how OP and broken SWF is?

I dont think its possible for SWF to win even 100 games in a row. (As in to get out 3 people 100+ games in a row)

There are some very outdated videos, about some players, who could manage escape 100+, but their team died in the process.

So I wouldnt count that as a win.

  • Is there any other multiplayer PvP game which allows a player to win 1000+ games in a row?

Do you think the game is balanced?

  • @StickyB said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/373649/is-blight-even-stronger-than-nurse-right-now-1000-win-in-a-row-vs-400-win-in-a-row

Momo requires addons and perks, if you look at Knightlight (probs the best killer in dbd), he's on a 200+ streak with Nurse with no addons or perks. Nurse is just fundamentally the strongest killer. If you ask Momo to try and streak without perks or addons, I bet he'd have an extremely hard time getting close to 100 let alone 1000

But its default thing to assume that every killer bring their best addons and perks.

So Blight need adjustment no matter what

  • @Dogma_loki said:

If any survivor escaped a 1,000 matches in a row killer mains would be throwing absolute fits.

Because it is Blight everyone just shrugs their shoulders.

    "Pretty good job so far!"

    😕

Devs also love Blight, he will never get nerf, only buff, S tier addons, on S tier killer.

1000+ wins in a row, only in dbd's balance world lol

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

at least some things never change. the cheaters are also active with the current patch.

I can tell you the game is so extremely flawed, thats the only way to fix, to make dbd 2, which is almost entirely server sided, so cheaters cant cheat, or at worst, do some very minor stuff.

Wont happen though, because if a game server sided, instead of client, it cost lot more to provide servers for it, so company has to pay more money....

  • Well look at the bright side, streamers almost never get cheaters anymore, though its costing to average players, since they are the ones getting the cheaters now lol

  • @wydyadoit said:

there aren't enough reasons for survivors to hide in lockers instead of locking them or just ignoring them. because that's 60% of his ability... all you have left is his baitport and his nightfall.

nightfall was nerfed to being barely effective before ptb release then later nerfed again because people can't see through the spittle on their dirty monitors with dying backlights. so it's basically worthless.

baitport is telegraphed. and anything telegraphed can be easily outplayed by anyone with a brain.

the character's ability is also really annoying for the player controlling dredge just as much as it is for the survivors. who wants to listen to moaning and shrill crying constantly when they can get the same or better benefits from onryu and nightmare.

if the devs had made the dredge encourage hiding in lockers - such as making lockers a way to reduce the effects of nightfall rather than it just vanishing then it might have been better, but as it is survivors aren't going to play near lockers so you're stuck chasing as a 7 foot tall 4.6 speed pile of dirty silly putty.

His nightfall was buffed to the point you cant see anything, unless you are using filters lol

There’s a difference between nerfing a perk and deleting it.

People use Circle of Healing for self healing. It doesn’t do that anymore so everyone will immediately drop it.

People use Pain Resonance for consistent slowdown all match. Now that it can only be used four times people will immediately drop it.

People use Dead Hard to compliment a more aggressive chase-oriented playstyle. Now it forces an altruistic playstyle and won’t even get value if you’re consistently being chased people will immediately drop it.

People use Call of Brine because its the perk that has a fastest regression speed. Now that its regression speed is much less noticeable and its outclassed by another perk at max value people will take it out their builds ASAP.

This patch is pretty extreme and seems like they want to force a full meta shift instead of trying to open up different varieties of playstyle. Nerf the strong perks and buff the competition for variety don’t nuke the strong perks and force people to find another stale meta of the scraps leftover.

Didnt work out with Dead Hard before....

Every survivor main using it right now, even though got nerfed...

The thing is, something either good, or not good enough to use.

Thats why you need to give very big nerf to perks to get meta changes

  • Thats why he almost never played

  • No it wont.

But honestly it isnt a big loss, Demo is one of the most boring killer, he is so average overall, nothing to excel at, also giving information to survivors all the time, with how extremely loud he is, his m2 is hard countered by DH, his portals are very easily removed, he can't stealth because so loud, honestly he was twins rare even when was available

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/366403/so-hows-this-perk-fair-again

Honestly, i expect dead hard to get changed at some point and i don't disagree with you. But just play to hard counter it.

Dead hard, is "hard" countered, by "hard" tunneling. Proxy camp them, then when you see a survivor going for the save, INTENTIONALLY hit the survivor that is coming off the hook right after they get unhooked. They'll get a speed boost, and then you just keep going for them. When you do this, you only deal with 1 health state, instead of 3.

Yeah killer forced to hard tunnel the survivor with Dead Hard its a guaranteed 3 health state otherwise, the only way to down in timely manner if you are playing Blight or Nurse, otherwise must tunnel them as soon as coming down from hook. 1 health state is lot more manageable than, 3 health state, and you even have to do it 3x3---> 9 health state if you don't tunnel, potentially even more if you ever drop chase

  • In reality this an excuse, before Nurse chase music was very quiet, some Nurse mains can't stand that their extremely overpowered pet has now appropriate chase music(easier to lose survivors), you want it to reverted so can stomp even easier like used to

  • Yes something changed, I get extremely sweaty SWF, like I can barely get 3 hook, then every gen gets done, 4 DH, 4 Adraneline etc

    Its frankly unplayable

  • Hillbilly was broken, instasaw billy was the most disgusting thing ever in this game.

Deathslinger was extremely oppressive in 1 vs 1

  • @Tostapane said:

i know that we have discussed ad nauseam regarding this perk, but seriously this perk needs to be reworked ASAP, it's EXTREMELY unhealthy for the game and i still see it in every lobby (3/4 survivors have it all the times). Eruption was changed for that reason too, so why not applying the same treatment to dead hard?

Should be once per trial, at bare minimum to make it fair, then disabled for that trial

  • @Marik1987 said:

As I mentioned in another thread, just release only 2 or maybe 3 chapters per year instead of 4 and make money out of other possibillities like a Perk-/Addon-Shop and more Cosmetics. You could also add a shop for other perk-/addon-symbols or colours. Whatever, just something new. A shop for older menu music-themes (like the AoT-one) etc.

They are working so slowly, feels like a really old non live service game

I think the .5 seconds of invulnerability on DH is misleading in terms of its effect.

It extends chases significantly and killers always have to play around it until you know its there. Getting the endurance effect is a huge loss for the killer.

    Consider the following scenario.

Killer is 6m away from survivor.

Survivor is 6m away from pallet.

Without DH, killer can lunge and hit the survivor very reliably.

With DH, killer can't lunge and hit the survivor. 6m is 1sec of travel time for the killer lunge. Well above normal reaction times. Survivor can simply DH the hit. Survivor can reach the pallet and extend the chase. This is FREE distance. There is no counterplay. A noob might mistake your flick for a lunge but a good player won't.

One second later, survivor is 2m away from the pallet. Killer is 5.4m away from survivor. Survivor makes the pallet.

Even further out the results are the same.

Killer is 6m away from survivor. Survivor is 10m away from pallet.

1 second later killer is 5.4m away from survivor. Survivor is 6m away from pallet. Same scenario as before, little less reaction time but still significantly above normal levels.

2 seconds later, killer is 4.8m away from survivor who is 2m away from pallet. Again, plenty of time to react, maybe the slowest players will miss this.

You can see that having DH does in fact provide distance and in some cases an extra loop or pallet or transition to another tile. You don't even have to press it for this to be the case.

Its guaranteed third health state, and extends the chase accordingly

I feel like you're missing the point here. We can argue all day how often we encounter survivors using auto dead hard, but I don't see how that's relevant here.

The point is that it does happen. Maybe not every game, maybe not every day, but it happens and therefore it should be fixed.

    Yes, remove Dead Hard

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3357349#Comment_3357349

The issue is that this has been persistent for a really long time. I have already removed all association between my social media accounts and my Steam account but Im suck in a situation where the people harassing me already know it to begin with.

Another issue I would like to bring up is that some of these individuals are apart of groups that go out of their way to slander me outside of social media. As Ive said before, I have been DDOSed, but also DOXed, leading to my personal information along with slander being published on "free speech" forums in which I can only remove the slanderous claims by paying arbitration fees (which I cannot do it, nor will I do it). This however has stopped a few weeks ago, at least from what I can see.

They also found out that I am friends with smaller DBD streamers, and some of them have been using alternative accounts to use hacked clients to even stream snipe and harass me and my friends whenever we play DBD, which has lead to a situation where people have stop associating with me because they do not want to be harassed like I am. (Which thankfully BHVR has been taking action to deal with hacking since this has gone down a lot since.)

This entire issue just stems from pissing off the wrong individuals who have too much free time on their hands. It's a weird situation overall since I do not know many individuals who have had to deal with this, and I do know some of the pieces of information but not enough to exactly pinpoint who are the figures behind this.

My only idea as for "what do I do now?" has been to rebrand and change everything to move on from the situation. At the same time, I have spent countless hours building up to where I am now, which is why I am so unsure on what to do.

I think you are better off if stop playing dbd, it isnt worth to endure what you are enduring right now. Gaming is supposed to be fun and relaxing.

Also if you are really like the game, you might better start a new account but keep every detail secret and anonymous mode on from start, that way you will be safe.

Now that they have your ID, they can get you anytime you are playing

  • It would only work if a perk should show if you are detected by KI or Aura read. And that's it

  • @Sava18 said:

Nah, I'd take old dh than have IW go back to 100%. Perk just let survivors gets away with awful plays. Oh are you trying to mind game a tile? Don't mind if I hold w to the next one.

It was one of the most overpowered perk in the game, injured survivors had no sound whatsoever

  • Be glad that they are following you instead of doing gens, best slowdown

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3357303#Comment_3357303

I'm not clear on the details but there's absolutely ways and means of figuring out who people are even when using Anonymous Mode. I know because it did absolutely nothing to help me when I was being griefed.

Yeah once they learned your ID(your profile on steam), it won't help you.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

This has nothing to do with the onslaught of meta perks or "toxic" (not really toxic) builds or whatever the hell people on the forums complain about. This ENTIRELY has to do with the fact that the people Im being matchmaked with are very unpleasant individuals.

And I normally try to be insanely positive and even give the benefit-of-the-doubt but it has reached the point to where I have to actively speak out about this.

People who say awful things in post-game chat and commit literal crimes (DDOSing and DOXing) over petty things in the video game.

I know some people will say "just turn off your account comments on Steam and avoid post-game chat" but this extends beyond just the post-game chat. Ive had people go out of their way to find my social media pages to harass me there as well, or use alternative accounts to see when Im on DBD (on Steam) and DDOS me as soon as they notice I am playing. Literal cyber-stalking.

The worst part is, is that they use alternate accounts with this stuff, I cant even tell who it is that is doing this specifically, and reporting does nothing because they return with another account in a few days. It's gotten to the point to where I am considering on quitting the game entirely if it means I do not have the deal with this anymore.

It's gotten to the point to where I have no idea what to do.

Steam is the worst platform for the game because others can check your profile. I think Epic is the superior one, also always use the anonymous mode, so they can't ever learn your identity.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

If you play nice = enjoy tbag at exit gates and "ezi baby killer" in end game chat

If you don't play nice = get tbagged, you are toxic and enjoy "trash so baaaad" killer in end game chat

That's just how this game works. No metter how nice or "evil" you play, you are still bad, you will get tbagged and trashtalked anyway. Only difference is that if you don't play nice, you might get tbagged / flamed bit more offten.

    Very accurate.

And then hardcore tunnelers will end up against bad survivors and they'll get even more wins. Plus it means people new to the game will just get put against tunnelers nearly every game.

I would never hook anyone then lol, kill everyone but according because done without hooks then i am very bad killer. free to kill newbies

  • Bad perks.

And top of that she got nerfed (removed information from her, and mechanics, claw trap used to prevent survivors from hacking, now claw trap does nothing, and survivors can hack drones always, this ensures that her drones will never stay up) she has no mobility, no lethal, her only power is subpar information, no chase ability. Worst killer.

    And she got NERFED.

I wont buy her in this state

  • @[Deleted User] said:

No, you can play without tunneling or camping. This strategy is the easy route to acheive a victory. The best teams in the game can be nullified by playing "clean" to say, however... you may have to drastically adjust your playstyle for such. It may increase the stress level by a lot too.

Up to you, but disagree on the title.

True enough, you can do so but you need to be extremely good most likely your livelihood based on playing dbd. Even like OTZ is always attempt to play nice but when he is about to lose, apologizes and saying he has to play dirty to win, so switching to tunneling to turn the game tide.

But anyway I also did these challenges, sometimes if the team is weak, you can do the 3 hook fair challenge, what I have noticed is very difficult and makes playing killer unfun, because stressful, and even be deceiving you think the team is weak but can outperform you surprisingly just because going for more even hooks such a feat from killer, and gives way too much time to survivors

  • @Pulsar said:

So....you are saying that in order to beat people playing optimally, you yourself must also play optimally?

    Seems kinda like a no-brainer.

High MMR, by all accounts, isn't a real thing. The matchmaker just isn't set up to deliver consistent matches like that.

No, I am saying that if the killer plays by the survivor rulebook aka no tunnel, its physically impossible to win unless the survivor team throwing. Even if one plays pixel perfect game, the map design and the looping takes too much time from killer to take down a survivor if he isnt tunneling, its auto lose vs any decent survivor team.

So one would expect if played very well, could win, but this isnt the case

The core game mechanic is tunneling that makes the game work, and even that is on survivors, because they rather save than do gens, if they were ignore killer would lose anyway

This game is so extremely survivor biased, however with tunneling you can have good results, playing for hooks is autolose though

Aaaand I didn’t know about those emotes and already lost interest 🤣

but yeah. They at least did something right, sure it’s more a party game and not that much horror, but still.

same with that mobile game I guess, Identity V, at least interesting art style and all.

both are a bit too similar gameplaywise to DbD though with hooks/gens etc

I want a proper asymetrical horror game, I really dislike that fortnite artstyle which pushed by most of the released game in the genre. Really dbd is one of the kind, right now

  • @Mooks said:

Oh Propnight did? Gotta check that out then. I feel like they did try something actually in the right direction with their killer/power designs, they it was the artstyle that made me not even try

Surprsingly 3000 players online, I still laughing on some streamers which said VHS will be as large as DbD ,and Propnight will be shutdown by then...However in fact Propnight is the second asymetrical game after DbD. I felt like they did something right, but the artstyle also wasnt to my liking. And unfortunately those childish emotes still part of the game, "farting" so still to immature to my taste though

  • @Mooks said:

    Yeah. Multiple. Not just one.

that is the problem with Friday 13th/TCM/Evil Dead. No potential for other licenses. And if they lose their one it’s over.

and you could easily start with good takes on general horror like Werewolf/Vampires. That’s something that VHS tried I guess? But that art direction was just awful imo

Yeah, even Propnight changed its art to be little more realistic, the VHS style kid and cartoon style just doesnt fit to horror game. Also the monster was extremely weak, and unfun, I played lot of game in the genre, but VHS take on power role is the worst

  • @Mooks said:

I still don’t get why no one tries to create a similar asymm game with more realistic art direction that’s not directly based off one license.

like.. imagine something more in the style of Friday the 13th/TCM the game but with original characters and possible multiple licenses for DLC?

You need licenses to draw the casual playerbase

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3355482#Comment_3355482

To be fair, what I saw of the Ghostbusters game was really fun and I liked that the asymetric nature was kinda reversed, ie the 4 players are the power role, but the ghost is sneaky and can do some serious damage if he gets the drop on the hunters or scares innocent bystanders to death. BUT being an Epic Game Store exclusive never helped any games popularity.

Besides that, VHS was handed as the ultimate hot DBD killer, but the fighting back mechanic is so different, that the feeling isnt comparable. And I think the VHS numbers ultimately didn't turn out as impressive as everyone played it up, right? i mean, competition is never bad as it helps both sides to bring their a-game, but so far no one seriously managed to tackle DBDs spot, and thats not for trying.

Actually VHS numbers was one of the worst in the genre, however VHS had the biggest hype from dbd streamers. Now all of those returned to play dbd.

Hmm well you could always play secret neighbor with 8 year olds and buggy servers. Oh wait… i think that game is no longer getting updates…

oh i know! You could try the… oh. Nevermind that game never got released.

resident evil resistance servers have been taken offline…

oh! I got it! Evil Dead the game just got a mew battle royale mode. Have fun!

Yeah forget about Evil Dead, has no stats but I heard the game doing badly

HSHS, Spirit detective got shutdown. Predator game failed (from the makers of Texas game) so dont expect much from the team

  • Yeah sometimes it takes a year or more to get stats, I don't understand why

  • @G_Hunters said:

So,to summarize, looping the killer using strong (and unbalanced?) map tiles through all game is fine, but,if somehow the developers release a killer that have the potential to deal with those tiles, then that character is broken and takes no skill to use and there is no counterplay 🤣.

Are we going to ignore the banner mechanic? The fact you can see the area of guards detection and avoid it?

And don't tell me you think that the new updated knight mechanic where the orb gets invisible on distance takes no skill too (You have to predict where the survivor will be,that sounds kinda skillful to me,unless you think Spirit takes no ability to play too, then I don't know what to say).

I'm sorry, but all this hate seems to me the result of saltiness and entitlement for not being used to face these types of characters and not wanting to adapt to a new mechanic.

Let's start to be more honest with our takes on the game please.

Of course, everyone have their opinions, and these must be respected, but saying that a character takes no skill to use sounds a but extreme to me.

After a dozen hours you will know how to play Knight perfectly he has no skill expression, which will cause him to be nerfed in the future. Just like Forever Freddy and All seeing Super lunge Wraith, both nerfed to the ground because anyone could stomp with them
