  • Last night I literally spawned next to 2 totems in a row. Separate games, one hex each.

IF IT GLOWS, IT GOES! Then I cry because it was Haunted.

Serious, though. Hex perks are going to cycle now. People will only bring Haunted, others will stop cleansing, Devour (for example) will replace Haunted, get cleansed, then it'll start the cycle again.

  • Well, there is two sides to this. There are those who troll/bait and those who claim that people are doing it. Sometimes they are right, but maybe someone just has an idea that goes against the status-quo and are immediately hated on for having a differing opinion.

I myself seem to recieve quite a bit of ridicule for my thoughts.

But lately it does feel like certain users can come under trolling or deliberately trying to start arguments. Maybe even spam depending on who you ask.

  • Quite a few characters need slight tweaks and several need major buffs.

I think that Insta-saw should be gutted from the game, for one. Maybe increase the minimum distance of traps on hooks for Hag. Small changes to things that are genuinely frustrating. Lullaby radius counting as a Terror radius for perks in dream world could also be one.

That being said, though. Everyone else, except for Freddy, Doc, Nurse, Spirit, GF and Myers need a buff. Even smaller ones, like slightly increased Uncloaking speed, starting with all bear traps active, removing the crouch speed penalty, when Feral Frenzy is active, increase Terror radius by 8m.

After Carefully analyzing the Gameplay Dynamic of Doctor and Survivor

I think just altering 2 things with the Doctor would balance things out.

    1) Hard Cap "Shock Blast" to be smaller than the Terror Radius and also unattached to terror radius size.. make its size unaffected by addons

    2) Allow survivor's Madness Tier to decrease back to tier 1 while in Tier 2.

This would greatly balance the game

Well, you're sacrificing stealth, perk and add on slots to get a larger terror radius.

And you go from 3-1. Lately 3 is not THAT hard to reach.

And another death profecy by a frustrated player. After the thousands death sentence I slowly start to believe it... not

Btw @PigMainClaudette the action stun to survivors was a buff the doc received. Not sure when, some time ago, he couldn't ALWAYS do that, but he could already before the rework *shoot-mouth-off*

Shock Therapy has prevented people from performing actions since I've been playing, and that was Darkness Among Us.

I just hate to hear people say that Doctor and Freddy are OP because they can shut down looping. That is their job. It is their entire kit.

How is noed any worse than the survivor second chance perks? If killer having one or two second chance perks is bad perk design then survivor perk design must be atrocious.

Unbreakable? Don't use it. I hate single use perks. Decisive or Borrowed? Nessecary evil, counterable and telegraphed.

What do you want me to say? Yes, you're right? You don't want to run small game, you don't want to clean totems. You don't want to learn totem spawn location, then It's your faul for not wanting to learn how to counter NOED and want to nerf it because you don't want to modify your gameplay instead. We are not talking at old 5 blink nurse who barely had a counter, we are talking about something you CAN AVOID and you CAN PREVENT from the very beggining, since you spawn in the game, you can search and destroy all five totems, with small game is faster than you think.

I'm not saying I DON'T want to cleanse totems, or run Small Game, I'm saying that there are games where I literally cannot find them anywhere regardless, and that with Archives challenges, I am limited on perks and Small Game doesn't make the cut for use against a niche perk which is broken by design.

All I have ever wanted for NoED is one small change. An immediate warning during the Endgame. Not on hit, on activation, be it 5th generator or hatch close. A simple change that will be better for everyone.

Simple. You called me a child, and I said that NoED is stupid, BS and badly designed. I did not anywhere say it was OP.

I'm pretty sure I'm older than you, and I'm in red. I do not need to "get gewd".

Killers need to stop relying on a few select, stupidly powerful perks. I do it and I perform just fine.

But really, stop rushing the generators and go look for bones. It's not that hard. Sometimes they spawn in sneaky locations, but last week I had mine down in the hallway of a map of all places. It's RNG, so deal.

You know that in 50% of my games, a generator is done before I find one, right?

And I also have been playing a runner build where I can, to distract and occupy the killer. Even when I'm running my Stealth build, most of the totems I find are already done.

Gen-rushing is not just one survivor. And yes, it is that hard. Certain spots like a particular circular shrubbery on Bedham are kind of hard to look in when I'm trying to avoid a chainsaw to the face.

"Just find totems" isn't that easy and I hate if my game is determined by RNG. That's what I play Warhammer 40k for.

  • I don't see what people's problem with Doctor is. HE COULD ALWAYS DO THAT.

Shock Therapy has ALWAYS prevented Survivors from doing actions.

Tunnelling and camping are different issues and more prevalent with Hag or Ghostface. There are also perks to help deal with the issue.

  • @Saitamfed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051954#Comment_1051954

I never said this to anybody but... "get good". Are you wanting the killer helps you to finish generators as well? Run small game, learn totem spawn location then you won't need to use small game anymore or when there is a gen left head to the door so when the gen is finished, you open the exit gate and then you won't get a problem with NOED.

"Get good" should be a bannable phrase with how much people spout it to derail actual conversation.

Not all of us are going to commit to memory something as arbitrary as token spawns. I'm not switching onto Small Game for several reasons, mainly that it doesn't fit into my builds, and a majority of killers don't use it.

    @Legionmain0517 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051954#Comment_1051954

Except you can still literally cleanse NOED and disable it almost immediately. Its rare to take out NOED as soon as that last gen pops, but it happens.

The devs have also talked on this numerous times and said they are not going to just nerf NOED. You sacrifice a perk slot to have that extra insurance in the endgame, that can be denied by doing a short, simple objective. So yes, it does have counterplay around it.

But lets not forget the tools you have to dismantle NOED. You have, small game and detectives hunch for one. You can bring a map with the proper addons or a rainbow map. You can divide up your team to search for it as the game goes on with SWFs, or just go and find all the totems yourself if you are knowledgeable on the spawns. You can even just make an educated guess on whether or not the Killer has NOED by just deducing what perks they have.

Dying to NOED can be frustrating sometimes, dont get me wrong, but with all the game changing perks Survivors can have, you have no reason to complain about the one Killers are barely clinging on to.

I complain about it because it is bad perk design 101. Followed by No Mither.

There are TWO perks that give you exposed with no warning: Devour Hope and NoED. One you have to work for. That is the issue.

I know it can be cleansed and prevented, but when I climb to red, solo about 50% of the time (usually only 1 other person in SWF, sometimes 2), relying on randoms and using perks to keep myself alive, also limited by Archives challenges, Small Game literally does not have room in any of my perk builds.

  • Again, it's a small notice in a direction, and not one I have room for between making sure I don't get tunnelled out of the game.

There are WAY more problems with NoED than "Just do bones". It requires you to do NOTHING in order to get its effect, there is no warning until the first hit, and a literal speed boost that lasts far longer than any Survivor speed bonuses.

So, yeah. I'll run Small Game and get tunnelled against a killer not running one perk for 9/10 games.

  • I don't run the perk myself, but my understanding is that it goes off based on terror radius, as in you have to be in it. Unless they are literally running at you as you're hooking, just move away. Hit them as they're unhooking, and if the other person dives in front of you, make them Mend and waste time!

Ghostface, Freddy, Wraith or even Pig can completely cancel BT by nkt having a Terror radius.

Perks like Monitor and Abuse or Furtive Chase can all help to alleviate this problem as well.

  • @Marcavecunc said:

I love how the answer to my "do bones" post is literally "but I'm too lazy to do bones, please nerf the perk!"

And I run small game on one of my survivors' builds and I never have troubles finding totems because I can recognize the tiles and where they spawn in them.. And heck even without the perk, you start knowing the spawn points. Some are well hidden, I'll admit, but still, your laziness isn't a reason to nerf a perk that has easy counter play.. You have the entire game to cleanse them, it's not as if the perk was active from the start.

Is it lazy if I can't see them? And I've had games where I've been running Small Game and STILL couldn't find them.

    @Ronierd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051543#Comment_1051543

I know, right? Survivors have it so easy but they have almost zero to none appreciation. They literally have no other objective then do gens, cleanse totems and open the gates. As a killer, you have 4 survivors to chase, hit (twice), hook and (hopefully) kill while defending 5 gens and you have to really pick your fights wisely. One hook now can easily cost you two gens (and you need another two hooks to kill that 1 survivor) so you must drop chases often even when you get a hit - but if that survivor have medkit or Self-Care, your chase was a total waste.

And you'd be wrong! I do have an appreciation for killer and survivor equally, because I play both. Besides, there are that many Hillbillies lately that med-kits and Self-Care are kinda pointless.

Do bones. The answer is not gonna change... right now, at least. If you make enough of a fuss, the devs will eventually cave in.

    Again. Invisible bones.

I have searched entire maps, never to find any. I'm not blind, but some of these are just too well hidden.

  • I've been bullied IRL for many years as a child, and I would never wish that on anyone else.

I just don't do it. And I know that killers are trying to kill me, you know their objective, but I hope that by me not bullying them, then we'll both have a mutual respect for each other.

  • @Marcavecunc said:

    Do bones.

They're not always exactly visible now, are they?

And before you mention it, Small Game doesn't exactly help all the time. I've had it go off, but I still couldn't see the totem.

Yes because DS, dead hard, and unbreakable are so easy to notice before you get ######### by one of them, as a killer you get so much notice that a guy you hooked 50 seconds ago after downing and hooking his friend then down him cause he ######### up and now your punished for playing to well and hooking people too quickly. People use DS as 60 seconds of mistake free play then if they're obviously trying to bate out a ds so you slug him you're then punished for calling his bluff by unbreakable, way too much notice on those 2.

Bait. And not everyone abuses the system.

I swear, I'm the only one on the forums who uses the things in game for their intended use.

"Some killers forget that survivors are humans" fr though? Idk man, what is my objective as a killer? Getting kills. So? Fun factor, nah, i am not gonna play so the survivor has fun, I'm gonna play so i have some fun until the 3rd minute in the game when the gens are done anyway

You can still get kills with both sides having a good time.

Maybe I find games more rewarding when I spread out the damage and have a massive snowballing effect.

Perhaps it's more fun to extend the game and toy with survivors, rather than rush them out of the game.

Or maybe I'm a sadistic creature who enjoys not blitzing out several matches in a row and likes to take my time tormenting survivors in a HORROR game.

Yeah I would say Herman is the worst, with the Clown in second place. I've watched Herman's archive video, I couldn't watch the majority of it.

With Evan I always got the impression that he was just a young man trying to please his father who he idolized. Although in his background story it implies that Evan lead about hundred miners into the mine, before he detonated explosives causing the mine to collapse, due to his father requesting him to do it.

OK. WOW. THAT GUY WAS AWAKE. AND I SINCERELY DOUBT THAT HE'S HAD ANY ANESTHETIC.

  • Herman was a literal torturer, and did unsanctioned experiments on unwilling participants in relation to mind control. I'd say that HE is the worst.

Kennith simply killed people and took their fingers after gassing them. Still a little bit of torture, but nothing in relation to Herman.

Max Thomspon Jr. is literally "Child Neglect 101"

Sally just snapped after DECADES of workplace abuse. Most realistic story, yes, but not horrific. Just tragic.

Anna is just an 8yro girl (mentally......) who's just trying to survive and protect other little girls.

Phillip is just wrong place, wrong time, Lisa just resorted to dark magic in a desperate time, Rin was literally a victim, Adiris was just unfortunate.

Evan is an interesting one, though. Throughout his Archives, we see him slowly being moulded by his father's actions. I haven't finished them all at time of writing, but I'm most of the way through. It doesn't seem like he's overly evil, but overly strict and cruel by demanding too much for too little.

Btw i'm steadily starting to see more Inner Strength than Self Care. One thing to understand is that new perks will take time to learn, and that people will connect and rely on certain builds for a very long time in a game like this.

Inner Strength is better than Self Care, you can't change my mind.

5 totems, 5 uses. Then you have other survivors to contend with. Can't be combined with Botany Knowledge, Resilience or a med-kit. Comes with DLC character, so relying on Shrine or monetary purchase to unlock.

I may not be able to change your mind, but I will cast doubt.

    X.

  • Hags. Bloody campers. "Aight. Imma just place half my traps at this guys feet and head out. What's that? They got unhooked? Let me just instantly go back and DOWN THEM AGAIN."

Other than that, I've got to go with Ghostface, Bubba and Wraith as the most notorious haters.

Also, sad oinks. So much Pig hate. It's not MY fault that I'm the worst killer in the game according to everyone!*

    *Excluding Clown and Legion

  • @GhostofYharnam said:

Pigs i think ive gone against 2 who dont tunnel the trapped person into the dirt.

    That would be me. Hi.

  • Toolboxes, especially when combined with Brand New Parts, are one of the easiest ways to quickly do a generator.

If ONE Survivor has a toolbox between a pair working on a generator, that's their penalty gone at least. Add a perk like Prove Thyself, and now you have a literal half time generator.

Good way to look at it is this: Medkits don't give you back hook states, so why should Toolboxes rush the Survivor's objective?

I'd rather see them reserved for Sabotage, with limited effects on generators outside of the Mechanic's Toolbox.

  • I don't either on Yui. Didn't unlock it on Claudette, though, so I'll keep her as is. Good character for me to just have for between Prestiges.

  • Ok. So I want to spend time with my mates in a game that we all enjoy, but we don't have 5 people for customs.

You want to punish me because I want to spend time with friends who I trust more in this game than randoms.

There have also been quite a few times where the comms are just "OH, FECK! GET HIM OFF ME, GET HIM OFF ME, I'M ON FINAL HOOK!"

    "Where are you"

"I DUNNO! JUST GET HIM OFF ME!"

  • @Awakey said:

The one time I take off DS, it's THAT kind of Hag...

So, in other words, versing a Hag.

  • Forgetting to swap my Archives challenge

    Immediately hearing a chainsaw

Realising that I need to do X type of task, only to have just the opposite until, the challenge is done. Been happening since the release of Archives. "Heal 3 others in a trial using Med-Kit and Botany?" Saw-bois downing people on the literal other side of the map. 5 games in a row. Every challenge, similar problems.

Jump on a gen. Other survivor jumps on too. Immediately fail a skill check (high Purple player, playing with Reds) run away just in case. Killer chases me immediately.

Sees map "The Game" "Lery's Memorial" or "Hawkin's Labratory". Even worse without Spine Chill.

    Loads into Ormond. As Claudette.

Spawning next to a generator. And a hook.

Spawn in Killer's Shack. With the basement.

Killer immediately finds someone and they DC.

  • Survivors are flying through gens because killers are camping and tunnelling more.

Killers are tunnelling and camping because generators are going too quick.

Old ruin was a problem. It only really punished new players. And the devs themselves said it was used too often to get any sort of meaningful data.

I'm the same way with how I play, but I must confess, it feels like most of thr community problems are being perpetuated by the killers, and those especially who play killer way more than survivor.

I personally find it's stemming more from Basement Bubba's, Insta-saw Billies, stealth camping GF's, any campers and tunnellers who also play any killers.

  • I tell you what.

I'll stop using Self-Care when people outside of SWF actually come and heal me, and I can get more than one health state out of a medkit.

Or give me in-game voice comms to yell at others who ditch me.

I've also run it with Resilience or Bontany Knowledge. Good way to make up the distance With Resilience, I've actually practiced 99% healing to proc Resilience for generators.

Bunch of babies, all you have to do is cleanse the totems, not hard to do or all you guys want to do is rush gens? If noed is active, it's your team's fault

I have had invisible totems before, and I am not dedicating a whole perk to that small possibility. And no, I want to be chased to get Chaser up. I want to heal others to get Altruism.

I don't have a cry whenever I lose, and I call it as I see it. NoED is the pinnacle of bad perk design, and I am not one to abuse perks in some sort of vein hope that people actually have some respect. Don't lump me in the same boat as those tryhards.

    @NullEXE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1032784#Comment_1032784

Dead Hard if used by a good survivor doesn't need it for it to be a "universal" exhaust perk. They use it for the short immunity to ignore punishment.

Decisive Strike if used by a good survivor doesn't need it to "counter tunneling". They use it for a 60 second immunity to ignore punishment.

The perks a majorly flawed for what they are intended to be used for. DS alone I don't understand why there even needs to be a perk to counter tunneling, when tunneling is a quick way to lose as Killer.

Is it a quick way to lose as killer? I find it depends on the team. And yes, there needs to be anti-tunnelling perks because getting deleted from a match is not good for anyone.

As for the "immunity" that's a perfect opportunity to leave them on the floor. They have Unbreakable? They have just wasted it. You have the tools as killer to punish bad survivor play, so USE THEM.

Well that sounds like advice people give unironically. Because apparently no one abuses the defensive perks offensively. Any way, it's just kinda bull that it gives both people in that situation 3 health states as a reward for going for an unsafe unhook.

I always take them as the exception. And as far as I know, they are able to be punished.

Oh yeah lemme swing for the unhooker.

The unhooked dude with BT on him bodyblocks

    Well then.

Then you know he's of mending and you continue to target the unhooker?

Why do people take me so seriously? I'm somewhat sarcastic on threads like this.

  • Keys? Don't know, don't care. Only used them for the Archives challenge.

It's not so much that generators themselves are going too fast, they are quick, but the main issue is Toolboxes.

Equal map sizes is more to do with slower and stealth killers (maybe except Windstorm Wraith) not being able to apply all that much pressure.

Tunnelling and Camping is just "I am going to ruin your day" the strategy and should be considered to be griefing, as while a strategy just encourages toxicity.

Ebony Mori's are more what people hate. I can understand having an Ivory to delete someone teabagging you at every pallet, or a Cypress to just end the game.

Less Crutch perks would be nice. As for the ones you've listed though, I have to disagree with DH and BT. Dead Hard is just so universally applicable. There are actually very few spots where Balanced Landing can work, Lithe gives off a notification and Sprint Burst is automatic. Borrowed Time also became the staple for dealing with campers and tunnellers, who have been a lot more common as of late. If they stopped doing this, then survivors as a whole would use this perk less. Same goes for Decisive Strike. This is just a Survivor's answer to this issue. I will concede that they are the closest thing to crutch perks that we have though. NoED is crutch.

Less toxicity would also happen if more people just learned to respect the other side. I've played both sides and I know their struggles, so when I see "Entitled X Main" or anything similar, all it tells me is that this person is not looking for a conversation, they are just looking to boost their own agenda. Or people just going "You're wrong, blah blah blah" rather than going into anywhere near as much detail as I have, or "Get good/Git gud". Same concept there. If we can abolish these phrases, and reach a level of understanding, then toxicity will start to decline as a whole.

Yeah because running around a huge map looking for 5 little totems and cleansing all of them to stop the killer from having godlike power is so much easier than.....simply not picking up the guy who got off the hook for 60 seconds just to avoid a 5 second stun lmao

Or better yet, just don't target the guy who just got unhooked. Punish over-altruism.

Target the other guy and go for a snowball effect. This way you will NEVER have to worry about DS ever again.

  • Ok.........

The killer literally sees YOUR AURA in exchange for you getting a reverse Spine Chill.

Yeah, nah. This interaction is fine. There is a range to the perk, too as stated in its description.

  • Bunny Feng will be released with Shirtless Myers.

  • Yep. You observe something different to someone else, explain your viewpoint and share your experiences and you are just WRONG. Because it is different to what someone else has experienced.

There are a rare few of us who genuinely consider both sides, but they are few and far between.

You look on just about any post, and 99% of them will be filled with people shooting down the OP's idea.

  • I've thought of a Mafia Enforcer style killer, but I need a new power.

Or I'd also love to see a Warhammer Old World/40k chapter, with the killer worshiping the Ruinous Powers. Have the killer's power based on 4 differing buffs, one for each of the Chaos Gods, that are randomly selected.

If you go 40k, then you'd be able to have a Chaos Space Marine, fully power armoured.

Fantasy/Old World, it would be a Chaos warrior. Big knightly figure, with lots of spikes and eight pointed stars.

  • I started a new account for fun on Xbox, and I started that one with David King. Dead Hard is the most universally applicable Exhaustion perk, and if you can get saves, We're Gonna Live Forever will get you easy bloodpoints.

Other than that? Dwight and Claudette. A lot of people will criticise others for running Self Care in higher ranks, but it's a good insurance policy. A "just in case" type of perk. Bond is also fantastic, and Prove Thyself is also good BP farming.

  • I've only had him for a week on consoles. Give me about 3 months, THEN I'll give yiu a judgement call.

He's also a "pressure" killer with zero mobility, so larger maps are going to hurt.

prove thyself does nothing? okay, dude. i guess when 3 people are on a gen and it gets done like 30% faster, yeah, no biggie.

dead hard: im bad and made a mistake. E. outplayed.

ds: im bad and got caught 60 seconds after the unhook regardless if the killer is tunneling or not

unbreakable: the killer doesnt wanna pick me up after i played like ass and waved my ds in his face. imma just get back up cause i keep getting downed cause im bad.

noed: gen times suck and hopefully they didnt DISABLE MY PERK by cleansing all the totems and i can get ONE kill cause people tend to run out the gates like its going out of style when noed pops.

Prove Thyself only cancels the first additional survivor penalty. DH can be baited, and if you have 4 other people, go into customs and practice. I never said DS was perfect. I said that I personally use it for anti-tunnelling.

Unbreakable is also only a once per game, and unless you are chasing across the map, you should be fine.

NoED for the speed boost is fine, but I just hate the free exposure.

  • Dead Hard is just so universal and doesn't care about maps, unlike Balanced or Lithe and is activated when the survivor chooses unlike Sprint Burst.

Decisive Strike is used to stop tunnelling (or it is by me anyway) because spme killers dont care that survivors are people too.

Unbreakable is for slugging because they've been slugged for running DS.

Prove Thyself doesn't do much at all.

Most of the Survivor meta perks are just universally applicable.

NoED is just infuriating because there is zero warning. The only other Exposure effect that isn't given to you instantly is Devour Hope. THAT is the main problem that I have.

If you think that Billy is OP you're ######### delusional

Where did I say he was OP?

    Please, show me.

I said he was too easy to play for the high reward. If you extrapolated this as "Billy is OP", then you are the delusional one evidentally.

What timezone you in? I'll join ya because I aint going against another 4 man red ranked (possibly swf group) when I'm a rank 9 killer.

I'm in Australian Eastern if you're on Xbox and want to meet up.

It depends on the map as well I suppose but what I was trying to get at is getting looped around a bunch of "safe pallets" with zero mindgame into getting body blocked / ds'd / bt'd into adrenaline is just plain unfun. I do like close games but what I don't enjoy is getting pooped on by some of these SWFs and I realize they like to have their fun as well so I don't point the blame at them but I wish BHVR could just at the very least acknowledge that it is not fun in the slightest for a killer to go against one of these teams.

You can still work around DS and BT quite easily. Worst comes to worst, just slug them and when they complain to you just say "Don't teabag me, body block, flashlight at pallets......." or just really whatever they annoyed you with.
