If it's quick check it's fine. If you're constantly within Kindred range, then that's just unfair.
It's not bannable, but it does hurt ranking. Biggest thing is that it just sucks most for the person on hook. Other survivors see what's going on and go "Whelp. Gens are gonna get done!" Then the killer goes "good thing I guaranteed that kill!" and the vicious cycle continues.
If you see a survivor running at you, then it's free game. They brought it on themselves. Just don't make it a natural strategy for you.

Nowhere in my post is an insult directed at you. You just don't want to admit that you want NoEd nerfed to give you an easier time. A Killer playing with 3 perks for the majority of the match is a lot of effort when going up Survivors 16 perks. Especially since Survivors can dictate whether or not the power activates.
Your refusal of you or one of your teammates to use 1 perk slot out of 16 to counter a Killers 1 perk slot out of 4 is enough proof that you don't want a challenging game. Why is it so much to ask for any of you to change one of your perks? Because you all rely on the same crutch meta perks and refuse to change. That isn't a Killer problem nor is it a game problem, it is a player problem. Detectives Hutch and Small Game will help you all game. It will make the game less uncertain because you would know that you got all the totems. Heck, you can run plunderers or spend blood points to stock up on maps and not give up your precious perk slot. I did that and I have over 20 maps just playing in the last week.
Surviving isn't everything, you and your teammates are not entitled to escape if you finish the generators. The match isn't over until the doors are open and you have crossed the threshold.
When you're ready to be honest about wanting the game made easier because you don't want to give up a perk to counter a perk (even though maps are a thing), you know where to find me.
I counter NoED WITHOUT perks or maps! And you insult me by saying I want the game to be easier because of one perk. Surely it's more of a challenge for abandon the useful items and perks to deal with something like that and rely on natural skill.
To be brutally honest, I couldn't give the furry crack of a rat's behind if I escape or not, unless I have a daily ritual or an Archive that says I need to. For me it is entirely how the match itself goes. If I ran a killer for 3 generators, did one, cleansed 2 bones, got a save and healed them, but they got me naturally in the end, then ok. It was a good game and they got me. Some of the best games I've had, I've died in but the killer WORKED for their kill, they weren't handed it with a free and hidden Exposed. They killed me because they were BETTER, not lucky.
The changes I propose are simply to fix the glaring inconsistencies with other perks of a similar nature. You can still keep your free Exposed, but just make it the same as every other Exposure perk.

Fun fact many new players (and some old) don't know about Huntresses singing is that the longer you go without hitting a survivor/getting into a chase she actually starts to sing more disgruntled and annoyed.

Hawkins as a survivor. Haddonfield for killer.
Hawkins doesn't have any decent spots for a traditionally stealth player to hide and Haddonfield feels way bigger than something like Mother's Dwelling when you're killer.

because it actually has no real counter unlike perks survivors complain about such as noed, what, slug?yeah because survivors dont complain about slugging like crazy and even if you do,you get hit with unbreakable, noed has no real counter besides having to wait 60 seconds.
Ummmm. What? I'm playing more killer than ever lately. Seriously get your facts straight.

I thought her Lullaby was directly linked to her Lullaby perk.
But she still sings when she is not using that perk.
The song has a greater distance than her heartbeats, which is strange to me.
Think of her humming as a secondary Terror Radius, since she is the only lethal ranged killer, yes I know Deathslinger exists for any bright-sparks but you cannot down directly with his power don't @ me, so they've given her the lullaby secondary to act as her true terror radius, with her actual 20m to act as both a secondary warning and used for perks such as Unnerving Presence.
-
I cannot tell you how many times I've said DO NOT MAKE RULESET NO. 2 BASEKIT. It forces survivors towards generators and you do not want that! Also, increasing the timer? Are you serious?
Also, I see what you're trying to do with that particular add-on, but to be honest it doesn't look that great. Pig already has Undetectable by crouching and Oblivious won't affect anything. This does kind of tempt people to go after the one who's already trapped since they can't hear a TR when you're standing up and the last thing that you actually want to is go after someone who's trapped.
@Feiten said:
Tf are you on? Pig is in a really good place right now.
She's in an alright place according to the statistics but that could be a case of trap tunnellers boosting statistics, or true Jigsaw disciples like myself just doing above average with her. All she needs is a few buffs to her crouch and dash numbers and I reckon that she'd be within the top tiers and possibly the best stealth killer in the game.
-
The sound is actually her humming the Russian folk lullaby "Bayu Bayuski Bayu"
And no, it is not directionalised any more. Same with Freddy's lullaby. They used to be though, but in a way it was a bit too much warning.

You say you want a challenge and yet you complain about NoEd when its counters are easy to use. It isn't a bad perk, it has a huge weakness for a huge payload. It is only 5 totems, you get a challenge by searching for them while avoiding the Killer and completing generators. The challenge is made easier by using easy to access perks or using an item. You also have the option to go straight for one of the doors and leave, though most Survivors feel entitled in ensuring that everyone escapes, which leads to more deaths.
You don't want a challenge, you and everyone else who complains about NoEd want the game made easier.
No, I don't want the game to be easier. I want an appropriate build up or effort for such a substantial reward. I want this poor excuse of a meta perk to be brought in line with the REST of the Exposed effects and perks. I WANT my idiot teammates to put in half the effort I do without using Small Game or Detective's Hunch by the way into cleansing totems and stopping the potential use of this perk.
I play killer a lot more lately, because of rank reset errors and I never look at using this perk. Even on what can be considered "weaker" killers, since I am a Pig main after all, and you know why I don't use NoED? Because I will get my two hits and get them, or they escape because they outplayed me. I take the loss and I move on. I'll use a perk that will help me all game, and if that doesn't help, my skills aren't up to par and the survivors do their job, then they can escape. They earned it.
Kills are not everything. It's time the killer community realise that too.
When you're ready to have a civilised conversation rather than insulting me based on assumptions, you know where to find me.

-
Yes it is bad because it doesn't help "slow the game" as people say. It only rewards killers who can't secure kills normally.
If we all stopped using perks like NoED for A MONTH or a similar span of time, maybe one ranked season, and let the devs see just what's happening, and then we might actually get some worthwhile change. As it stands though, that's never going to happen as everyone hops from one crutch to another on both sides.

My point was you can't expect to play online multiplayer games and have all matches go the way you want. The problem isn't NoEd, it isn't the Killer using NoEd, it isn't an issue with finding or cleaning totems (since they have plenty of ways to be found), the problem is your teammates. Nothing needs to change except for people taking a bit more responsibility.
I never get mad at the Killer for using NoEd, I get mad at my lovely group of Randoms who don't cleans totems.I also get mad at them when they try to save me while NoEd is active. Either look for the totem or leave out the gate. No one is entitled to escaping, if more survivors left or if more survivors brought in a map/small game/ detectives hunch and cleansed totems, less and less killers would use NoEd.
You would think that with the amount of complaints about NoEd, people would use the counters that are provided, but they wont. Instead they want to stick to the meta.
I never expect a match to go the way I want, and I've been against NoED for a long time. I've highlighted how it's a bad perk and how to fix it to make it still powerful but not as frustrating.
I play Dead by Daylight for a challenge and because it is fun. NoED spits in the face of all that. There is no challenge, there is no fun. There is only death and suffering.

Well, if you don't like suffering due to your teams ineptitude, perhaps you can go try a single player game.
Like what? I've binged them for a decade and a half. Occasionally I like to play a bit of Dead by Daylight for something different.
And Borderlands 3 is pretty abysmal in terms of story, but the DLC is improving on that. Only slightly though. Kinda telling of the single-player market lately.

Survivors can counter NOED and pretty much all killers perks by a shift in playstyle. So this argument doesn't stand up.
And "individually they don't swing the outcome of a game" is a blatantly lie. I can literally send you matches were a single Unbreakable turned a game from a 4k to a 0 or 1k. A single Unbreakable ! Not to mention, a single DS means that the killer is forced to "respect" everyone in order to not risk getting hit by it, a single DH can turn a 30 seconds chase into a 2 minute chase and so on.
And "the killer decide who dies when" is, again, a lie. Killers don't have a button to kill a specific survivor whenever they feel like it. Against good survivors with a M1 killer, you're very often forced to abandon the chase and go for the weaker survivors, otherwise you're throwing away the match.
At least survivors get a notification for NOED after someone gets hit, while killers don't get notifications for who specifically has DS, BT, Unbreakable, Adrenaline untill they are used, the same way with NOED.
All your points are very flawed and misleading.
Well, when I say playstyle, I mean a general spreading of damage and all that. As in I never tunnel, rarely slug and NEVER camp. The only time I'm near a hook is in a chase or kicking a generator.
I have never had a single second chance perk swing a game for me. When someone is picked up off the ground, I'm normally either in a chase or damaging generators so go ahead and use Unbreakable. DS? Been hit twice in recent memory, one was a test to see if they had it and the other was a blatant abuse. Everyone still died. Borrowed Time? Never affects me, as I'm normally too far away or I target the unhooker. From where I'm standing, I didn't lie because I never have a problem with these perks.
As for the killer deciding who dies, I mean by counting hooks and spreading damage, not having a permanent Ebony Mori. IF you can remember who's had how many hooks or who is annoying you the most, then you CAN decide their fate. Once again, I'm not lying, you've just misinterpreted my slightly vague point. I did also say ESSENTIALLY as in not 100% of the time. I understand that there are games when survivors dictate the flow of the game, but I find them to be the exception.
As for killer notifications, you get some warning or can deduce if they have it quite easily. If you have an obsession perk, you're probably respecting the possibility of DS anyway, but if you're not, then it's pretty obvious. Especially with how some survivors play. Same with Borrowed Time, as in unless you're actively camping with a TR then reckless saves are a good indication.
And you're right. Survivors are notified AFTER the hit, and that is my single biggest complaint. There is no build-up, warning or effort. Just a single hit and a confused and now angry survivor who's been shoved to the dirt. Normally the one who did bones as well, the thing that killers tell survivors to do. So, here's the thing. I did what I was meant to to avoid all stupid second-chance perks, I know how to beat them and I actively try to.
From where I'm standing, I'm right. I don't lie here because that doesn't help anyone. You may have different observations to me, but that doesn't make me a liar.
-
I've used Spine Chill plenty and it is a great perk, but I've always used it IN COMBINATION with looking around for the killer, that way I don't have the problem you have. There is no real point in having the perk when you just run straight into the killer.
Being something of a stealth killer main myself, I also tend to know what to look for when going against stealth killers.
-
Harder? It actually depends a lot on ranks, killer, perks and all of that stuff that comes into play.
As a simple guide, though, Survivor at low ranks and Killer at high. Matches are usually dominated by killers in the lower ranks, usually a slaughter but occasionally it'll be an easy 3/4 escapes. Killers tend to struggle a bit more in the higher ranks because Survivors know what they're doing, how to counter a killer and can hit a skillcheck.

How dare we have the power role and decides who lives and dies within a certain extent.
Don't slug, tunnel or camp and the perks will go away by themselves. No joke. It works for me. If they unhook in your face, then get the unhooker. 60 second immunity eats dirt.

Why ? Killers claim on the second chance perks is as valuable as the survivors one, especially when survivors have more of them. Killers only have NOED and maybe Rancor ( tho nobody uses that ). The double standard is just as present on the survivors side as it is on the killers side, if not even more, as I see on a daily basis people complaining about NOED, while calling survivors meta perks completely fair.
You can naturally counter the survivor meta perks by a shift in playstyle. That and individually they don't swing the outcome of a game.
As a killer, you essentially decide who dies when. Survivor second chance perks are designed to prevent the use of the scummy tactics of tunnelling, camping and slugging for bleedout.
NoED CAN be called an anti-genrush perk (not that I ever have a genrush team.....) but it also has major glaring inconsistencies compared to every other Exposed perk: There is no activation requirement (endgame starting is not a requirement, I'll explain in a bit) and there is ZERO NOTICE for the most powerful status in the game.
Currently there are two perks that hide Exposed. NoED and Devour Hope. One of which has an activation requirement, that being get hooks. Every other Exposed effect warns the survivor instantly.
While it can be argued that a perk like Rancor can also have zero requirement, you still have a more passive effect and the Exposed effect comes from generators complete, rather than endgame reached. You then only have ONE Exposed survivor who knows they're your target. With NoED, you can dominate, close the hatch and instant down the last survivor. And this is a BASIC perk, not a teachable.
For the survivor "meta" you need teachables from at least 2 survivors, possibly 3. Depending on if you want to use it on one of them. Without getting them in the Shrine, that's a HUGE investment, especially since killer gets 2-3x the bloodpoints that a survivor does. NoED is just a basic perk that always exists in a killer's bloodweb. You can use it day one.
And I use Rancor on some killers. It's not that bad actually.

Self-Care, Bond, Lithe, Q&Q, Dance with Me, Botany Knowledge. I play solo after all.

Surveillance. Easy. And Devour Hope on Deathslinger. Surveillance is such an underrated perk, and I've been using it since before the Ruin rework.

Okay, I won't chase them. They will then proceed to do gens.
Okay, i'll wait for them to use SB or DH. Then they'll just use it like the braindead free distance Perks they are and get to a pallet for free.
Okay, and then the rest of the team will be doing gens while I'm puppy-guarding this one, and then that fourth Survivor will probably leave as well.
Okay, I slug them, and then they use Unbreakable.
Okay, then they have UnbreakaDecisive when they get unhooked.
Head On actually is easily countered, I'll give you that.
Okay, I tunnel them, and they have UnbreakaDecisAdrenalineHard while their friends have Borrowed and they'll have far too many defenses to be tunneled.
These are almost all lose-lose situations.
Scare them off a generator, then kick it.
Bait them out, they have a "60" second cooldown.
Don't camp since they WILL do those generators.
Make them waste one of them then, if you're that concerned.
Wait. People use Head On?
If you actually spread damage and stall out long enough, then these perks counter themselves. My playstyle naturally counters all of those perks.

I play both. I'm neutral. It's why I have my killer and survivor main characters in my name.
And I have ONE "crutch" perk out of 12 in the 3 builds I run lately. And that is DS literally to punish tunnellers, so don't come at me with the whole "Second chance survivor meta!" winge.
Killers can bring whatever they want and play however they want, but just expect survivors to not be happy about it and voice their opinions.
I think that NoED is badly designed, caters towards bad play on BOTH sides and needs to be looked at. I've also stated a fair and balanced fix that will keep it's strength but remove the most annoying part about playing against it.
Personally, I don't use the perk because I can suck it up when I lose a match and move on. I also hate one use only perks/items.
-
Well, Corrupt stops 3 generators from being worked on for a good while, but Discordance is better throughout the game.
It is also widely believed that Discordance 1 is better than 3, since there are more notifications and therefore more reliable information. BUT survivors also work out pretty quickly that you have it.
Depends on the killer and the playstyle. I like permanency within my perk usage, so I'll say Discordance if I had to choose just one.

As someone who plays both sides, and naturally counters the issues, then I feel qualified to give my opinion on the subject matter and survivors have a better claim than killers on the matter of "second chance perks".
-
What survivors want is to be hardcore tunnelled and facecamped 100% of the time. Don't.
Sincerely, the survivors
-
Don't need is and NEVER.
I do bones, everyone else can start pulling their weight or killers can just use actual perks and stop holding up the double standard of complaining about DS/BT/Unbreakable/DH/Adrenaline while spouting that NoED is fine.

Rank resets have been a little bit bugged. Killers have switched from Ruin to NoED to compensate for a lack of skill or faith in theirs. Deathslinger is fun, but kinda tricky to use with the harpoon. Matchmaking has more rainbows in it lately than a lot of pride parades.
Business as usual.
Most people like M&A on Deathslinger, since he has a longer harpoon range then he does TR outside of a chase. A 16m TR is pretty brutal, after all. I really like Devour Hope on him, but he's also the first character I've used it on. He's a very boom or bust character, since he's a 110 killer with no traditional map pressure, and aiming is pretty tricky unless you know what you're doing. Haven't seen him ever since after the first week of his release so I can't say about how to deal with him.
If anyone tells you that he's a worse Huntress, ignore them. They've got two completely different powers.
-
If they're stupid enough to do that, then you leave them to kiss the dirt. They WANT you to go after them, after all. They think that it's a free pass since it's an easy enough skill check to hit.
Either eat it and leave them alone, so they don't have the chance to use it again, OR slug them and waste their time, which also applies pressure.

You see the problem within your own post right? Look at how many perks that are considered second chance perks for survivors compared to the one we have...
The only "Second Chance" perk I use on either side is Decisive Strike to tell tunnellers what I think of them. That's right! I use DS with it's intended purpose! As killers, we also technically hold the power of the game, since it's largely up to the killer when someone dies.
I'm never really use the whole "git gud" or "apply pressure" as it's advice that's never going to help anyone, but if survivors are dominating a match so badly that you need NoED in order to get kills, then either they're reds with lots of fantastic perks and knowledge against someone's yellow ranks with no level 3 perks, brown and yellow add-ons and a basic understanding of the game, or they're straight up doing something wrong.
Survivors' second chance perks are also all temporary, small and/or ONE USE ONLY. And they're all way more easily counterable. I never have to worry about any of them because of how I play, since I occasionally slug but not very often and only do so tactically in the mid-game, never go after someone that was recently unhooked unless I'm either baiting DS or they do something stupid like a generator in my face and I'll normally slug the stupid, which also counters Borrowed Time, Dead Hard is just an exhaustion perk, and if they bait my swing, they bait my swing. Adrenaline is Sprint Burst at Endgame, and yes they can heal a health state, but that doesn't happen all that often to me. There's usually only one or two people left when it triggers anyway, so it's no big loss to me.
-
Can but shouldn't.
Last time this sort of thing happened, it was on PS4 and confirmed to be hackers. Until you see a notice in the news screen when you load in, or hear officially from the devs, then don't trust it. Probably ditch the lobby too, because if they're playing against Xbox players, who knows what else they've got.
Also, as a fellow Xbox player, good luck playing Nurse. She's a nightmare to play wkth a controller!

Yes. I do. And no, it isn't since it isn't an excuse.
What I'm referring to is the part where you either make sure all dull totems on the map are destroyed or wait until the endgame has been triggered and hope you find the glowing one. Thought you would have remembered, since it is a basic fact about the perk.

its not a garbage excuse, there are many ways to deal with noed but survivors choose to complain instead of accepting them, what the hell do you want,to make noed visible to all the survivors the whole game?
It is a garbage excuse because, as I have said, I do them. There is also the issue of FIVE totems to deal with one Hex versus ONE totem.
I have accepted this counter, even though I don't think it is likeable or fair.
What I want is for killers to cease it's use outside of dedicated endgame builds. But in the interest of fairness and knowledge that people will use ot anyway, all I ask is that it be brought in line with the rest of the Exposed effects: Actovates only after 5 generators are complete and the Exposed status is shown to survivors immediately when the perk activates.
-
Well, if it was a decently designed perk, wasn't super easy to get, and didn't have such a devastating effect for such little effort, then we wouldn't have these problems now, would we? Same if killers stopped using perks like this to lean into rather than adapt or accept that you might OCCASIONALLY lose a match or two.
Besides, survivors already complain to each other enough and I for one DO THE DAMN BONES. If killers stopped giving this garbage excuse then maybe some survivors wouldn't be so angry about it.
And if killers get a free pass on DS, BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard and Adrenaline, then survivors get to complain about NoED.
Maybe they should take their own advice and "git gud".
-
NoED is just the new perk that killers can lean into rather than trying to adapt their personal playstyles or killer choice to better suit the current patch. Hex: Ruin made it that generators were going super slowly in lower ranked games, or somewhat slower in higher level games. However, there was the issue of it being skill-check based which anyone could easily hit a "great" skill-check with enough consistency unless you're an unlucky console player like me.
It's easier for a lot of people to click Hex: Ruin then click Hex: No One Escapes Death, rather than looking at how to play Ruin differently, actually working for kills the entire game, and adapting through playstyle or even changing to another perk in general that will help them throughout the entire game. They then go around justifying terrible perk design by saying "Do bones and you won't get affected." because it is counterable, but only if you have memorised a trivial matter such as totem placements on twenty-something maps or have other survivors who actually care about totems too.
I will admit that I used the old Hex: Ruin to help cover up my lack of skill early on, but if I can now slaughter ranks 3/4/4/9 as a rank 14 Myers (resets and COVID-19 did a number on my rank......) with zero level 3 perks, 3 generators remaining and on Fractured Cowshed, then other killers can adapt too.
The build is Myers with Dying Light/Thanataphobia/Sloppy Butcher/Hex: Ruin with add-ons Dead Rabbit and Tacky Earrings for those wondering.

I'm having the time of my life as solo survivor again, and i've died i 3 of the matches i've played so far😂😂😂😂😂
why are suvivors so angry?
Campers, tunnellers, idiots who won't do totems and make me suffer the effects of NoED, ebony mori's when we're clearly NOT an SWF hit-squad, running a Myers for two gens to only be deleted after ONE HIT because Tombstone is fair and balanced gameplay, slugging for the 4k when they could just as, if not more easily, just go and close the hatch.
Then coming to the forums and having killers say "Second chance meta/just use small game/do bones/60 seconds immunity with DS" and all the other bias fun stuff the love to prattle on about because Entity forbid they think about the other side for once.
Solo is decent fun, just not when you run into these things. I'm having a great time lately running Q&Q, Dance with Me and Lithe but to have issues like this for multiple games in a row, especially as a solo player, is just infuriating.

Yeah, uh, survivor isn't really a 4v1.
It's more of a case of 1+3v1. As in you have to "cooperate" with three others, but you also basically have to go against them. This is why SWF is so strong. Not because of comms or anything like that, it's because it's extremely hard to potato in the manner of easy 3-gens. Survivors also tend to just do a generator they see, as doing a generator feels WAY slower than going against them.
Inability to break totems is one of my biggest hates as of late since NoED is overly popular as of late.
Dropping pallets early is kind of a killer-dependent thing unless they're just potatoes.
Running the killer to you is kind of a signal that they need a break from being chased, unless they're an absolute potato or troll.
Seagulling a hook shouldn't be happening unless they know it's safe and even then it should be two max for fast healing.
Sounds like you've just been eating the rainbow lately. Rank for survivor these days is not quite as much about skill as it is about sheer amount of time in the game.

Hillbilly and Leatherface. Too many chainsaws. Hag as well, since an overwhelming majority use their traps tk camp hooks.

How does Static Blast exactly work while I have no Terror Radius? Or does it work at all?
It's radius is based on TR, but you move as you want to use the blast, canceling Insidious.
Probably grab a friend and go into practice to get timings down before trying it.
