I just don't like the feeling that I can pay money to buy myself an advantage over other Ghostface players. I feel like adding a free cosmetic without the straps would solve this issue.
I bought the Pig's black leather body so that I wasn't walking around in a bright red cloak, so I could be classed as paying for an advantage. At the end of the day, you as a Ghostface playr are a STEALTH killer, and if you want to add a bit of cash for a cosmetic that MAY help you in game, then that's not exactly a bad thing.
His traditional costume is also tassel free and very true to the character, if you wanted to go down that road.
-
I'm going to go with "No" as his facial cosmetic is his mask, and currently there are only 3 slots for cosmetic: Head/Face, Body and Weapon.
Shroud is included in Body, so the hood that comes with the rest of the cape is the one you're stuck with.
Those tassels are also one of the few visual/audio queues that Ghostface is nearby since he doesn't have Mask Echo with his breathing, unlike me and Mikey.
-
Well, I didn't JUST pick up Claudette because of her teachables..........
And Pig's black leather outfit is not a kink thing............

Thank you for the replies.
So I guess I will have to buy Kate then =)
Anyway we both only got the game last week, so maybe he's pulling a fast one over me but I saw he had it equipped in his perk menu. Wasted so much bloodpoints trying to get that perk LOL.
Cheers!
Kate's other perks are better anyway. Windows is a decent tutorial perk, but I'm currently running a build with Dance with Me, Quick & Quiet (Meg) and Lithe (Feng Min).
Windows is ok with this build to help you locate them, but using another perk and just setting yourself up can be better. Not to mention as well that Kate is one of the better looking survivors in the game.

Dr is obnoxiously easy and OP, which is why he is a go-to. They aren't gonna nerf him. We thought they were and all they did was buff him. LoL nice thought tho.
Obnoxious? Yes. Easy? Kind of......... he's easy to pick up, but not easy to do well with in higher ranks, unlike SOME KILLERS who will remain unnamed. OP? Far from it. He is literally an M1 killer with zero mobility options, and his way of ending a chase more efficiently requires him to be essentially next to a survivor.
If he is to be considered OP, it's against lower level/rank survivors who rely more on stealth and are lacking in terms of chase ability.
As for the OP, I'm actually happy to go against Doctors because they are actually rather easy to avoid. There is also a massive telltale sign that he is about to use Static Blast or Shock Therapy. If you hear the windup but no TR, you're fine. If you do hear a TR, then either run away or go towards a locker. Just vault/throw early and watch him cry. Also, don't forget to watch him occasionally during a chase since there is a delay between him WAVING HIS HAND and the Shock Therapy effect being applied.
-
The long wait times for survivors is a great time to have a stash of spirits, bags of cracked up ice and a cocktail shaker.
I'll let you figure out the rest.
Also, if you're on Xbox come find me. I use a different name there, but I'll give you one of my account names if you're interested. I need people to play with, and there's always customs if I can gather enough people.
-
The only ways to unlock a perk for everyone is to either purchase the perk on the Shrine of Secrets, or get the character to level 30/35/40 and take the teachable, rather than the other perk(s) within a bloodweb.
IF your friend has gotten Windows of Opportunity without buying it in a Shrine or Kate, then that's either one hell of a glitch, he'd forgot that he bought it, or he's lying.
-
I lose if I lose a pip. Simple as that. Kind of hard to get Entity Displeased with my current killer choice/playstyle, and we've all seen those threads about how easy it is to rank up as a survivor.

I like to run 2 builds as a survivor
The first one i call it "Ninja build" - Q&Q, Iron Will, Lithe, Dance with Me. I love vaulting a window and completely disappear :)
The second one "Hit and Run" - Diversion, Iron Will, Sprint Burst and for the 4th one i usually run Left Behind/Bond because i don't want to throw a pebble in the direction of a teammate and destroy their cover. This is a good build for hatch escapes, you see the hatch with Left Behind, throw a pebble the other way and sprint burst to the hatch. I got away so many times with this build, the killer is searching for me and i just throw a pebble one way and run the other.
I was about to recommend that survivor build! But I've used Resilience or Self-Care over Iron Will.

What do you mean by outdated game engine? Unreal Engine 4 is one of the best game engines available and it's used by a ton of game companies for all sorts of different games.
The game is how old again? I thought that they might be using an older game engine, and this is why I also used the word potential when I brought it up.
-
I get that there are a lot of problems that should be a lot of changes that should have been made by now, but I think that people tend to forget that bHVR aren't a Triple-A company like Ubisoft, Blizzard or Epic Games. Those guys are MASSIVE and have larger teams working on games in general.
There is also the potential issue of using a somewhat outdated game engine, and while the game could be completely redone in a new game engine, there is also the issue of changing everyone to that new engine.
One thing that I will absolutely support bHVR for is that being a smaller company, there isn't the issue that a lot of them have taken to lately, with trying to have "broad market appeal". Dead by Daylight does seem to appeal to a very particular audience, and that is 100% ok.

Sorry but if you just go after what random people say in this forum there is no real base to discuss
Pretty sure one of them was Peanits. And again, there were plenty of threads about it at the time. You could find any one of them and they'd be able to give you more information than me. I didn't look that deeply into it, because once again, I'm an Xbox player and this issue has not affected me.
-
Also while I remember, currently FOUR of the top 5 have some sort of mobility to them and can patrol generators easily because of it. Nurse? Blinks twice and covers 75% of the necessary travel time. Hillbilly? Chainsaw sprints there within 5 seconds. Spirit? Phasing. Freddy? Literally teleports to a new generator.
The only one out of the top 5 who doesn't have mobility is Doctor, but he can easily have a TR and Static Blast that covers multiple generators.
Gen-rushing is their weakness because they END CHASES very quickly, so the best way to avoid chases is either to stealth, which Doctor just straight up ignores, or do your objective very quickly. Now considering that not everybody can stealth, and it's countered by some perks and having eyeballs, the best and most efficient option is to complete your objective quickly since that is how a mobility or chase killer wants to complete theirs. It is literally a race in that situation.
-
Each killer has their own version of applying pressure, which is also a loosely applied term in this game. Not all of it comes from having a universal map ability, though, and it's up to the player to learn how to use their version of pressure and apply it.
From what I've seen there are 3 different types of pressure within the game, which can also be considered playstyles.
Map-Pressure/Stall - using abilities to force players around the map, setting up for some, and stalling out the game.
Chase-Pressure/Damage - ending chases very quickly and applying damage through hits and hooks.
Information Deprivation/Stealth - withdrawing information, such as a Terror Radius and Red Stain in order to gain an advantage of free hits and a false sense of security.
Some of these styles can cross over through the combination of power use, perks and overall playstyle. A Nurse with Hex: Ruin can be considered both Stall and Damage, since the generator is regressing quickly and they can end a chase very quickly. Others, such as Pig and Doctor, have pressure through forcing survivors into completing another action such as removing an RBT or Madness.
Every killer has pressure, but it's not just a case of having a global ability to do so, such as Wraith having Bone Clapper psyching out survivors early game.

What do you mean? Streamer like ohtofu hacked into PSN? The hell are you talking about lol
I don't watch Fake Meat, and I never said 100% of them were. But the initial wave of them were apparently hackers according to what people have said on the forums. It's probably a case of hackers opening up the link, and a few people accidentally finding their way into PS4 lobbies.
I'm not an expert on the subject, just going off what other people have said.
Literally go and find earlier threads talking about this.

Not directly on the platform, as far as I know. At least, not that I know of on Xbox.
@DwightOP said:
Wasn't it basically already confirmed with the bug when pc streamers played in ps4 lobby's?
Well yes, but actually no.
They were confirmed to be hackers. When that comes about, then we don't know if it was a feature they were going to test/implement, or if they legit hacked into the Playstation Network, which people have been proven to do before. Until we get a word from bHVR themselves, then I'm not going to hold my breath.
It'd be lovely and I can have a decent reason to convince my mate who is doing Youtube to have a couple of games on his channel, grow it to monetisation numbers and have a decent reason to slaughter him mercilessly, considering he's on PC or PS4 and I'm only on Xbox.

Playing low rank survivor does not equate to playing against purple rank as a new killer. I'm currently green rank killer and have yet to have a game in the last two days where I don't have at least one rank 1 and have had only 2 games where there were ranks other than red, both of those games also had rank 1 present.
Ironically enough, I'm also back in green ranks, versing red survivors, and I actually do BETTER in those games where I'm versing red-ranked survivors. Games for me with 2 Reds, a Purple and a Yellow are easier for me to do well in than a game with 3 Greens and a Purple/Yellow.

Having a decent level killer doesn't even the skill gap. Rank 19 is essentially a new killer and they should be matched against people of similar skill. I know if when i started and matchmaking was this borked I would have just deleted the game and moved on.
I also thought that people below rank 15 were generally locked into playing each other, rather than mingling with the rest of the ranks, and having more powerful perks and a wider variety of them can help.
And again, getting into a survivor's mindset.

@KingFrost said:
Solution:
Only survivors who were hooked get exposed. Killer can now Mori survivors who they down while NoED is active.
Not a fan of the Mori part, but I can certainly agree with the previously hooked clause.
-
Oni's Demon Dash is way more controllable than Hillbilly's Chainsaw, and as a console player, it's really noticeable. You can also just do the slam, rather than always dashing.
Hillbilly has his power permanently, and to be honest, a bit too much for my liking.
If I go down to an Oni, then I generally feel like it was my fault, rather than yet another chainsaw with virtually zero cooldown. And Oni has a way better aesthetic to him.
Their perk "pools" also differ greatly, for example, I feel that Monitor and Abuse is good on Oni, considering you need early hits to build up blood, where as it isn't great on Hillbilly because you're always using your chainsaw. Differences like that.

And while I think that sticking us all in a Chuck E. Anyone under the age of 15 should be barred from this sort of game.
-
I don't really care. Keys rely on generators getting done. As a Pig main, if there's one thing that I'm good at is making sure that generators do not get done.
I did have two games back to back where someone found a key in a chest and escaped after I'd shut the hatch and went "Well. That was unexpected." but at that point, I'd basically gotten the 4k and they got a little bit lucky. Still got Ruthless/Merciless, so no real issue there.

@KingFrost said:
Both sides have terrible emblem systems tbh.
I had a game where as survivor I did 4 totems, 2 generators, and escaped. Did I pip? no, no I did not. I was green rank btw. Why did I not pip? My only altruism was healing one guy because I was busy making sure the totems were cleansed and the huntress was camping (badly) So I didn't have many evader points either. Because Huntress happened to hit me on the way out.
Altruism for Survivors is a team effort. If she was camping, then yeah. Nobody would have been healing.
Kinda sucks that the other side can have their emblems decimated by the actions of your side. Camping? Low Altruism and low Devotion. GoT tHe KiLl ThO!

Now combine it with Quick and Quiet, Lithe and Dance with Me.
You're welcome.
-
Not joking here, but go and do some Survivor Archives, grind up some easy BP and level up killers in the background if you have a decent Survivor build. It'll make it a bit easier to have Killer games, and get into the mind of a survivor.
-
The main thing that NoED has is that element of surprise, which for a NON-TEACHABLE is kind of BS, and is a trait that is shared with only two exposed effects within the entire game: NoED and DEVOUR HOPE. One of which has an activation requirement, like every other Exposed effect.
As for the whole "3 Perks all game" garbage excuse, if my other Hex is cleansed in the first 30 seconds, I'm playing with 3 perks all game. I don't use that as an excuse to camp/tunnel in response to what happened.
NoED is an extremely unique perk that has zero true activation requirement, and doesn't follow the patterns of every other exposed effect. Here's my simple change to make the perk less frustrating to go against for everyone:
- Only activates after 5 generators have been completed
- Instantly warns the Survivors that they are affected by the perk
There! Simple change, still keeps it's power level, but is now infinitely less frustrating to go against. If I really wanted to get nasty though, I'd say something like add a clause that a Survivor must have been hooked at least once, making the killer actually WORK for their Exposed/
"Entitled survivor main" comments, even though I have a killer's name first in 3....... 2....... 1........
-
Good and proactive survivor who hates NoED here.
Your stereotype is completely wrong.

@Peanits said:
That seems about right to me. You had a close match judging by how many points you got, and you managed to kill half of them. That tells me that you're right around the ideal rank for you.
Who would the best killer for ranking up be? And I do mean both according to the Emblem system and statistically.
I want to see if my theory is correct.
-
I don't say it's OP. I say that it's a completely broken and badly designed perk.
And I don't need Detective's Hunch to deal with it, I need teammates who will cleanse the damn totems as well as me.
You make it only activate on 5 gens complete and show exposed INSTANTLY, not on hit. None of this "playing like they have it" crap. Make it the same as all the other Exposed effects. Simple change, it keeps it's power and it's less frustrating to go against.
-
Not a red killer, but I've been getting 2 Reds, a Purple and a Yellow in plenty of my games, and I'm at Green. I do better in those games too for some reason.
-
I'm fine with a 3k, because the game ended before all 5 gens got done.
And in this day and age of green killers everywhere, I'm fine facing 2 Reds, a Purple and a Yellow at Green because those games go better for me than 3 Greens and a Purple/Yellow.

Lightsabers are part of a world that takes place in a galaxy far far away, a long long time ago. It not our own reality but a clearly different one. Fictional settings have things that work different from our own world all the time. Bleach and how the main character can lose more blood than humanity possible. Gurren Laggan where humanity all basically have green lantern rings. Gundam has giant mecha that would be a bad idea in our own reality but in their it make sense, due to tech they have that we don't, that would take care of the normal issues of a giant mecha being a big fat target. With creators of a fictional world, being more akin to gods of said world. Where it doesn't matter how things work in our reality, if they say magic exist and here is how it works. That how it works. Long as they maintain consistency and the logic makes sense with in context of that setting. Now if they lack any consistency like disney star wars, that is when yeah a creator is wrong and has no idea what they are doing. Since disney has put out books, comics and more pieces of media that conflict one another, while having they all meant to be canon. For otherwise, well everyone could say magic doesn't exist and the creator got something wrong about a fictional elements or metal they made and created for just their own world. If we treated every setting as a one for one of our own reality. When clearly many of them like star wars are not. Like hunter x hunter, it has it's own magic called Nen. Yes science in our reality can prove it doesn't exist but does that make it so the creator got something wrong? When they were to craft their own fictional world and not trying to make a copy paste of our own reality? Since fictional settings follow their own rules, not ours.
Now a better example would be ea battlefield, which base it self off a historical period world war 2 and made the claim it was historical aka following our own reality. Only they got countless historical things wrong and even replaced real life commandos and replace them with two fictional characters they made up, while trying to past this game off as historical. Aka lying to your face. Here they are trying to make a copy of our own reality and got something wrong. That and one of the selling points of something being historical, is to be well historical. So if they get something wrong about our own reality, fair game in this case, due to them making it clear this world is meant to be our own. Which is why Valkyria chronicles can get away with a lot of interesting elements, in a setting that is heavily influence by world war 2. For Valkyria Chronicles never once claimed to be historical and a copy of our own reality.
Of course a fictional story might be a bad example to use next to gameplay for a video game. Since final fantasy, metal gear solid series, both have had moments where their is a cut scene that takes place, where something impossible in terms of the games mechanics happen. Sometimes story and game mechanics are disconnected from one another. Otherwise certain characters that die, would still be alive due to video game mechanics. Since gameplay normally has a lot more to do with stats and numbers. If something is not working as it should, it normally easier to figure out. Which in this case, it more the certain actions of players. Which it might help this topic, if we were to lay out what camping and tunneling means.
Camping would be say the face camping bubba who stares at the person on hook and just stays near it for no other reason than to watch the person die. Tunneling aka tunnel vision, is focusing purely on one survivor, above and beyond any logical reason, even when going after another would benefit the killer more. That and well there is many things that would need to be take into account, when it comes to camping. Tunneling might be a more easy case to make for as to why it just flat out wrong or kills the enjoyment of others. Since unless it a super rare case, of the same survivor running into the killer over and over again or everyone is hiding in lockers afk while only one person does anything, it seems clear as to how one might deal with tunneling. The case of a face camping bubba is well clearly bad. While camping can sometimes be due to well other reasoning, there is always survivors who like to loop the killer, near their hook team mate. Leave marks all over the place or just rush in shouting Leeroy as a whole team, to get the person off the hook. That or running object and look right at the killer, giving away what their plans are aka to unhook a team mate. So camping might be hard to come up with a way to punish without it effecting legit players. Of course, a better idea might be a reward for acting in a sportsman like way, rather than a punishment.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/147776/tunnelling-rant
Well i'm not sure how running meta perks would be toxic or rude. Since meta perks are just very useful perks to have. Which is why they are the meta, by proving to be very strong and powerful perks.
Of course gen rushing, sometimes just happens due to the flow of the game and gens just popping fast and survivors not really having anything else to do. So it really just survivors doing their objective.
Flashlight is just a item you can take or find in the game. I would say alot of players are far from being great with flashlights. Not sure how that would be toxic. Now i know some would go, it toxic to blind someone while breaking a pallet but i never really understood that reasoning. Since well blinding a killer does give points. They might be doing it just for the points.
I think some people like to list things as being rude or as the kids these day say toxic, when well it not really a posionious or deadly disease but alright. It just due to them not really going, hmm is this someone really trying to be a massive b or d to me or are they just doing it for it the smart and logical thing to do or maybe they just want more blood points? That and well when it come to this game. Which is why i believe you come across people like this op. The player in question, just made up something that makes perfect logic sense in the video game and in their own mind, twisted it as being rude or just wanted to ruin someone else day for the heck of it. Basically they are well just massive jerks. Who don't seem to realize or maybe they do, that other people are also trying to enjoy the video game.
Of course how to deal with tunneling and camping, to make it less effective. That might be a bit hard to figure out, without it effecting people who play in a legit normal fashion. So alot of talk will be needed here.
That is a very long and complicated response for what is essentially a half-assed joke/retort, and something that nerds everywhere have proven before. Point was indeed that creators can be wrong about their creation, and by that I mean they portray it one way and say that it's something completely opposite. Pointing out logical inconsistencies can also be another form of showing that a creator is "wrong" about a creation.
In DbD it's that the community complains and hates these "strategies", the devs have given us perks to help try and combat them, but say "they aren't bannable offences and legitimate tactics" which is entirely contradictory. If a survivor can RAT ME OUT and get me killed just because they don't want to die and ruin my experience, resulting in a ban, then it shouldn't be fine for obnoxious face-campers and hardcore tunnellers to ruin my experience and NOT get a ban.

I had Legion clip into a pallet until I broke it, but it was only once and after I got stunned.
Dunno about Hillbilly. Even if there was a shadow-nerf, deliberate or accidental, then he's still going to be one of the strongest killers in the game. No changing that.

And then people will complain that you slug.
Survivors basically think you are playing unfair unless you hook someone and then immediately run to the opposite end of the map and stare at the wall until they rescue them.
They haven't yet.
-
Well, having a baseline 40m TR before adding Calm modifiers is usually a pretty good reason, because let's face it, which Doctor ISN'T running Distressing.
But essentially this Doc specific case is while in theory an effective strategy, it's difficult to pull off.
And it's as others have stated as well. My immediate though when reading the title was "What's stopping ANY killer from face-camping?" To which the answer is it's more fun to hunt and torture, the BP/Emblem penalties, common courtesy, not wanting to get flamed by survivors and because sitting in one spot looking at the someone from the other side just stand nearby is just so BORING, and this is coming from a "former" Blendette*!
*The kind that actually helped out the team, but was terrible in chases so they played stealth. NOT the "immersed" Urban Evasion, hide in a corner Self-Care stereotype.

So I saw you were thinking of switching out BBQ; have you considered STBFL? Dash hits don't consume tokens and STBFL is helpful on every single killer bar hilbilly, leatherface and nurse. It's like a slightly watered down STBFL Demo
I have, but I don't remember if I have it. Pig was the first killer that I really levelled up, after Nurse (for A Nurse's Calling, she's super hard to play on Xbox) so I don't have a huge perk pool on her, but it's growing slowly. I don't like that Dash doesn't affect the stacks, since I use that a lot. It's nice that I don't lose them, but it'll take me a while to gain stacks. My tracking without perks is also somewhat limited to the point of being called trash. I get why people use it, but I'm a Dash Pig.
I'll have a look through my perks later. For now though, I have found it useful occasionally and the extra BP is always nice, since grinding for particlular brown and yellow add-ons is harder than you'd think.

Yea with the legitimate tactics is one thing i really dont get how ones side has legitimate tactics but are classed as toxic and bad just because killers cant learn them but something like hardcore tunnelling and facecamping which is impossible to actually get out of is seen as fair by the devs
Also got any pig tips? Just bought her chapter yesterday and im looking forward to learning how to play her ^^
NEVER target someone with an RBT, even if they get it off at the first box, it is still several seconds someone is literally removed from healing, doing generators, doing totems or anything like that.
Perks are personal preference, I like running Ruin, Surveillance, Nurse's, BBq. I've been running Surveillance and sincerely think that alone it is quite underrated. Ruin is STILL GOOD, and combined with running people off generators, some not touching them because of an RBT and Surveillance, it's brutal if it can be left alone. Nurse's, well, you're a stealth killer. It's a massive advantage. BBq can be really helpful to predict movements of other survivors but I'm actually thinking of swapping off it, but I don't know what to.
I've also been running this build since before the Ruin rework, and it still holds up. You just can't play 100% straight faced like half the killer roster, if my results are anything to go by. Sometimes you have to get a dash hit and ditch. I play a bit more anarchic than a lot of killers do.
Add-ons, I really like John's Medical File/Video Tape/Combat Straps as kind of my core ones to use. Crate of Gears and Tampered Timer are also a nice middle finger to teams that are really committed to generators. Extra RBTs are also a decent add-on. Just avoid anything related to the box or mask effects. They aren't worth it.
Dash is your friend, and a useful mindgame tool. I like it as a way to get a first hit, and there is nothing more satisfying and euphoric than getting that perfect tip down at the end of a dash. At pallets or windows, it's kinda easy to bait out a pallet drop or vault into the hit, since you don't have a red stain
Basically you're a toolbox stealth killer, you have everything but you excel at nothing. Avoid affecting your boxes, it only hurts you. Dash is my favoured method of hit, but it's not your most reliable method. Dash add-ons, Gears and extra traps are your go-to add-ons. Perks are what you expect and prefer.
And NEVER, EVER target a person with a helmet. Slug them if you want, but don't try to hook them. Unless they do something stupid like to a generator in your face. As a Pig, your primary power is a limited resource. Don't waste it, but don't hold onto it.
-
Mate, I hear you.
This part of the reason I play Pig, and tend to slug those with RBTs applied. I can never get accused of tunnelling that way, and it applies WAY more pressure.
Unfortunately the devs have called them "legitimate tactics", so there's nothing we can do. But on the other hand, George Lucas calls lightsabres "laser swords" when they have clearly been shown and proven to be plasma, so even a creator can be wrong about their creations.
And if you read this devs, the only people who support hardcore tunnelling and camping in this community are the ones who use it. I get STRATEGIC uses of camping, like say when you've seen two survivors run at you near a hook, or even tunnelling your obsession so that they're on death hook instantly with Save the Best for Last, but just doing it because you can literally ruins games. I don't know how some people can find it fun, and even something like saying that the emblem system is a better guide to a win condition than just "KILL. ALL. SURVIVORS." would massively help alleviate this problem and help with the divide between your balance team and the community.

I would say that maybe you need to spice things up with a different killer, or just play the game for less time in a streak. I'll usually only do about 5 games a day of a night, and not really binge out a play session. That way the repetition doesn't really get to me that hard.
I'm also completely OK with versing reds and purples right now, even though I recently got back to green ranks, because I actually perform BETTER against them than I do a full lobby of greens. It may be because there's usually 2 reds, a purple/green and a yellow, but still. 3 players who are way above what I should be versing and I cream them.
As for the community, it's always going to be a particular struggle that's unique to this style of game. Since you've played both sides, you know first hand that killer and survivor are essentially two completely different games. We have two separate games arguing and sharing a space, with some people who only play one side, some mainly playing one and a rare few who evenly bounce between. THEN we get into the division of the killer community with their unclear "win condition" and which particular character they use. Survivors have do generators and escape, if you can't hold off the killer for as long as possible. Killers? Your baseline goal is to kill all survivors, but it is also essentially to torture the survivors, inflict pain and be a horror movie antagonist but some people only see "KILL. ALL. SURVIVORS." and that's it.
I can understand using NoED and a mori for an archives challenge, but they just feel so unrewarding on a survivor's side, and to be brutally honest, I hate that the devs put in the NoED and EGC kills challenges. One is reasonable, two is throwing the game and just annoying survivors unless they gen-rush you.
Also, I like the initial difficulty curve and hidden parts of the game, such as mindgames, perk combinations and all that good stuff. Is it frustrating to learn? Can be. Early killer games for me were a nightmare. It is rewarding though, to finally learn how to be a good player.

See, i fully understand your situation. I run an ambulance build, literally specced for saving people fast, safe and effectively. I have done some saves i'm bloody proud of, and in the same games been ditched quicker than a justin bieber album in your christmas stocking.
It sucks. It's frustrating and it makes you want to reach through the multiverse and scramble #NoobSMakker158 with your ethernet chord.
Sometimes yeah, i think 'Well fudge you all" But the problem is, yes you can be utterly self serving and i'd honestly not blame you, but I can only see that making matters worse when you do end up in a match with one or two genuine decent players who understands that you really are stronger as a team. If they don't see you as a team player, you're effectively mirroring the people cheesing you off right now, and why are they going to risk their necks for you? A lot of games are sucky due to our team mates, but the ones that come together like a plan devised by the ATeam themselves...oh those games are worth their weight in gold dude!
If you choose to just say 'to hell with you all" i could totally understand and if nothing else you might have a few less stressful games. However I'd encourage you to keep at it for those worthwhile matches every now and then :)
Matches have been better tonight. Somehow painting some Necrons all day and playing a bit of killer really helped calm me down.
I'm in a weird inbetween spot now where Im playing for myself, but I'll still go for saves. I'm not sticking my neck out for anyone though. I'm in it for me and me only, but I won't forsake others.

Those "Freddy is OP" posts are in the same vein of "Doctor is Annoying To Fight". And while I don't think that Freddy is OP, I agree he is strong and this is my instant thought on the matter:
They are DESIGNED that way, and it's fine to have strong killers. We need more strong killers to make them more terrifying. This is a SURVIVAL H O R R O R game after all.
There are also ways of countering all killers, and they're usually pretty simple. Much like A Nightmare On Elm Street, Freddy literally can't get you while you're awake. Just don't stay asleep.

If they are rank 17 and 18 and the hours back that up cut them slack. If two are low rank and only one is experienced they may have their hands full just trying to keep their buddies alive and unfortunately that doesn't always translate to telling those low rankers crouching in a corner to save. You should help them because doing the right thing influences others just like their behavior is influencing you to be less altruistic. If they are new they will definitely pick up on what a teammate is supposed to do by having it done to them.
Also, you'll run into that player that will come back for you in the basement with the gate open but not if you left him slugged on the ground for an absurd amount of time to do a gen. I can't tell you how many times I went for a risky save on a player that stuck out their neck for me. Do good, it will come back to you.
They got scared of Thanataphobia. I was on a hook in the open, while they were crouching up in the middle of the Sanctum of Wrath and they LEFT ME TO DIE.
Two minues. TWO WHOLE MINUTES I sat on that hook and they did nothing to save me. Not once did I see either of them attempt to come for a rescue, as the only other competent survivor was getting chased.
I have made those risky saves before, and I have been rewarded for it. But the point is that the reciprocation of my gestures is becoming lessened every single game. It's as I said; I want to be a nice guy in the game, I want to be helpful to people. It's why I ran Botany Knowledge in a build when I had both of my brothers telling me "just swap off it, it doesn't do that much." when to me it was the gesture and the safety of a second health state after a hook. And I was also running Self-Care on that build. People aren't showing me that kindness, so I'm starting to doubt whether or not I should keep doing it. And that's the problem. I'm starting to doubt my own core values because of other people.

Reminds me of an Overwatch match last night. We won, but gold eliminations was 5. We played like crap. They played worse than crap. 😂
Been there. Done that. Easy 5 gold as Moira. Basically had to main her because DPS can't damage, tanks can't tank and somebody needed to keep those idiots alive.
