Sounds like you excuse or condone bad behavior. Believe it or not, there are players who want themselves and others to have a fun, fair, and good natured experience! Shocking!

That’s rather presumptuous don’t you think? If there was a way to punish people individually for extremely bad behavior I’d have no qualms about it. But punishing everyone for the actions of a few.. no. Making extreme changes to the game because someone got triggered is a bad idea, that’s all I’m saying.

  • Ideas like this that are completely unthought out and come from the frustration of a bad game need to stop. Vent if you need to but we can’t go changing the game every time something annoys someone.

  • Personally, I choose to have fun. If I take every game seriously I rarely have fun because I take the losses seriously as well. The more I meme and laugh at stupid things that happen the less I care about the outcome of the game. Maybe I get tunneled or whatever, but if I can throw a pebble in the killers face or make him look silly in some way I had a good time.

  • I came here for a Thanos meme and I’m sorely disappointed.

  • I have my Nancy P3 and I love her head and shirt, the only thing I would change is that the blood on the pants doesn’t look like blood, it looks like red paint. I personally don’t like when the bloody cosmetics are over done, like Kate’s head is way too much for me.

  • The rank 20’s are legitimately better teammates than some of these red rank survivors. I can’t believe how often I’ve been going into struggle on first hook. No one is even doing gens half the time anymore, just a bunch of boosted apes. The solo experience is the worst I’ve seen it since I started playing last year.

  • You’re gonna love the upcoming killer challenges :p

  • For one thing, disconnecting once isn’t bannable and it was in a kyf match which also is definitely not bannable. These were friends playing together, even tofu thought it was funny. Context is important.

  • The point of it is to prevent the game from being held hostage by the last survivor. They can’t just hide forever anymore since the killer can close the hatch and trigger EGC. There are plenty of ways you can play around this, slugging would be the most effective if you’re really that thirsty for the 4K. Otherwise it’s not a common thing you’ll run into. When you’re down to 2 survivors just keep an eye out for the hatch so no one can camp it.

  • This is just how events tend to be. While you are getting gen rushed all I see are killers using the most OP build they have and tunneling people out of the game as fast as possible. It’s makes for a boring cycle of gen rush to not get mori’d/tunneled then killers have to mori/tunnel to not get gen rushed and vice versa. For some reason everyone hates having fun during events.

  • My only gripe is that I wish there were no killer/survivor only charms. I want Nea to be able to wear the killer stone dangit!

  • I think the combination of protection hits/safe unhooks would be fine but only if they increased the amount of stacks you needed.

  • I’m pretty sure we’re getting the day of the dead cosmetics next week so it’ll probably be the week after next.

  • Per leaks by daylights original date leak it was supposed to unlock on the 5th, but that was when the event was planned for the 22nd. Best guess would be the 12th/13th meaning they unlock every 2 weeks. Just a guess though.

  • I only sweat if the other side is sweating or if I play a few bad rounds I might play more “meta” perks for a while. I know a lot of people play to win but I try to not be too competitive in any rank because I end up getting butt hurt if I care too much.

  • I noticed it too. Along with a few random visual changes.

please refrain from commenting on my posts with your trollish nonsense. 0 tolerance. shouldn't have to "use a different shirt". simply making the devs aware the shirts are covering up claudettes charms. Thanks for your useless input.

You posted this in General discussions, you’re gonna get input whether you care for it or not. I’m sure that eventually the way charms work with certain clothing items will be fixed. In the meantime maybe just wear another shirt.. lol.

  • Daaang. They got the MoM treatment.

Me and my bf have talked about how cool it would be if they did The Wolfman as a killer. I picture them to be something like Gascoigne from Bloodborne.

  • There’s really no reason to not have this, it just hasn’t been implemented. I’m glad you brought it up. I think about how nice it would be to preview how things look together every time I’m in the store but I never hear anyone mention it.

  • I personally don’t have any grudges against Spirit (no pun intended). I don’t think she deserves any massive nerfs, the changes suggested in the original post sound pretty fair.

I love how this thread devolved so quickly with discussion over whether she’s op or not or whether she has counter play. The main point of this post.. Did you have fun?

  • @FireHazard I appreciate your reply. I’ll keep hoping for it, the few times I’ve been the last survivor with one gen left the hatch gets closed before I can do the last gen so it’s just becoming the bane of my existence. I’m on PlayStation so I didn’t have the option to do the achievement before. I can tell it’s always been difficult to get though.

  • I can usually manage chases without one, sometimes it even feels like a wasted perk slot but there are those times when you REALLY wish you brought DH or balanced. So yeah, they’re nice to have but not mandatory.

  • I used to think it was a beginner perk, or for immersed players only. I decided to try it when ghost face came out, now I almost always run it. I see a lot of people saying DH is better, it would be if it were reliable. Spine Chill won’t save you from mistakes like some perks, but it will help keep you from making some mistakes which is more useful (imo). The main reasons I use it..

I can work on any gen on any map against any killer and not worry about being snuck up on or trapped (especially on single gens in rooms with only one way out).

I know when it’s safe to go for the unhook, it’s especially useful when it’s a killer that can drop their heart beat and camp.

Spirit is easier to predict while phasing/faking.

I know for certain when I’m still being followed and when the killer lost me on maps with lots of LOS breakers.

The speed boost comes in clutch a LOT, especially opening the gates or popping a gen.

I don’t have to rely so much on luck when I’m the last one alive and the hatch is closed in regards to the gates.

That boost to vaulting has gotta be the most slept on benefit, because you don’t even realize when it saves you most the time.

  • Pyramid head! Cooler costume, cooler lore.

  • The real question is, are there enough people who like grinding this game enough to want to do it all over? I’m genuinely curious.

Punishing people for not wanting to START a game is always a bad idea. This isn't league where you have to actively be unwilling to interact with the game during the selection process to dodge. If someone wants or needs to dodge a lobby in this game the best part is that everyone can just requeue. It isn't as if only survivors have lengthy queue times. They are proportional to each other. If killers are taking a long time to get a lobby that means survivors are also taking longer than usual. That usually means there aren't enough people on or matchmaking is being garbage. Which in all fairness, matchmaking even with dedicated servers is still looking trashy. Imposing a dodge time would only serve to inflate queue times. Especially, for players who don't have a server specifically in their region. Think about AUS or Oceania players, they would be in perpetual hell.

If you don’t want to start a match every now and then for whatever reason the impact would be minimal, the only people who would be in perpetual hell would be the ones who dodge constantly. Again though, this was all hypothetical and has completely derailed the thread so, apologies OP.

I can see that. It means I'd have to just let the red-ping matches play out, since it'd be better to go afk while the survivors rush through the gens than dump the lobby and risk the time-out getting progressively longer. Not a lotta fun for me, but I guess it's better than everyone having to re-queue up. 'Cause yeah, at certain times of day queue times on the PS4 can be pretty bad even in mid- and low-ranks.

To be clear, I don’t think making the timer progressively longer for dodging should be implemented. Although it should for in game disconnects (leaving match not loss of connection). I’m talking something that would only hurt people who abuse lobby dodging, the kind of people who dodge over and over till it’s just a bunch of solos with no items or prestige/legacy/bright hair. I think it would discourage that since finding a lobby is already a wait by adding to it for people who act picky about survivors they play against. This is all just what I would like btw, I’d be surprised if it were ever implemented at all tbh.

As killer, I have to dump lobbies because I'll get red-ping survivors who don't leave. That's not uncommon, and being punished with a wait timer because the survivors weren't paying attention or didn't care wouldn't really be fair on killers.

I’m only talking like 3-5 mins, just enough to deter constant dodging. That’s not that unfair, when you dodge that lobby all four survivors and yourself now have to wait for a new lobby. In red ranks for survivor I’m usually waiting quite a while, I’ve had nights where killers keep dodging and I end up waiting almost an hour to play one game. Having something as a deterrent for the people that see a Nea or a flashlight and nope out would be nice. Although I understand completely where you’re coming from.

  • @Rezblaze I’ve heard things similar to that suggested and I love the idea. It would give players with lots of hours more to do and wouldn’t be brutal to new players.

  • The hatch is there to give the last survivor hope of escaping, the entity wants the survivors to have hope, it thrives off of it.

  • There’s been lots of talk of this before, and the consensus for most is we would rather have another objective to extend the game. Nobody wants to play a progress bar simulator. Doing gens is already boring, especially with things like ruin, dying light and thana. If gen times were increased I think a lot of people would just quit playing survivor because of how boring it would be.

  • @Galklife said:

@Phox well managing 4 items is 1 thing, taking mori because its rare skin or FL is sth else (and you wont tell me FL is as strong as mori), well i wont talk about moring TTV because they pretty much are asking for it but there are mori for nicknames (and im not talking about "mori me myers")

and you can tell surv should take perk in 1/17 chance its that killer but killer cant blindly take franklin or lightborn? (and btw because items are common its way more than 1/10 chance for at least 1 item in game)

No, I don’t think a flashlight is as strong as a Mori. I’ve never heard anyone say that. Ebony needs a change tbh. Still, I do think it’s fair that the killer sees what items the survivors bring. They also should be able to change killers if they want to based on the survivors, if it’s a swf that they know is really good and they don’t want to get bullied by OoO that’s totally fair. That’s all I’m saying. The killers that bring a mori for a flash light are babies, it’s never a good idea to balance games around those people.

I play mostly survivor but I watch a lot of people including my bf play killer and from both perspectives I think it’s fine how it is. If survivors could see the killer getting into games would take forever because survivors would dodge every killer they don’t like and bring builds to counter the rest. It would be boring games and lots of waiting for lobbies to fill.

  • The feature exists for a good reason, to allow the killer to prepare for the match. 1 killer has to manage 4 people with different items to take into account. They should be able to adjust their build if need be.

However, I don’t think the feature is meant to allow killers to pick and choose who they go against, that part is unfair. You can look at a team and think “they look like they could beat me” or “I don’t want to deal with this” and dodge. That’s really not much better than survivors dc’ing because they don’t like the killer they’re against.

Imo it would be fair for dodges and dc’s to put you on a wait timer to get into another match.

  • Doing gens as fast as possible is an effective way to leave fast but that alone isn’t enough to pip. But some people don’t care about pips, they just do the objective and leave. I don’t think gen times are the problem, I think there needs to be more for survivors to do in matches when they aren’t being chased. There should be more incentive to keep survivors in the game longer.

Tools and Add-ons, yes, you keep, but the offerings that are consumed before a match begins are lost for good when the game ends because someone DC'd in loading

If the match doesn’t start then you do keep them, they go back into your inventory instead of staying equipped. I have had I glitch once or twice, but that’s not intended. You are meant to keep them.

  • No it isn’t fair and balanced but neither are your addons so I’d say it’s a stalemate. Most killers know the risk of dc’s running certain addons, not that it’s fair but maybe the devs should look at the addons that cause consistent disconnects.

  • Spine chill OP

Seriously though, it’s so useful. Never have to worry if I’m being snuck up on and I can’t even count how many times it’s helped me get the gate open or unhook someone or cleanse ruin or pop the gen. It’s my favorite.

  • Playing solo means you never know what kind of people/potatoes you’re pairing with. I’ve learned I can’t rely on randoms for anything in this game. I still sometimes die on first hook in red ranks ffs. So yeah, if I don’t have a medkit I’m bringing selfish care.

  • I’ve never dodged a lobby except when I’m playing survivor and the killer has insane ping. Even when I see 4 flash lights, I just say a prayer to the entity. I know what you mean though, anytime I am pink haired Nea I seem to get dodged a lot, and if not dodged they try and tunnel. I don’t take it personally, it’s funny to me a skin has such a bad rep.

  • Most of the upset comes from poor communication, and people are aloud to be frustrated by that. A lot of folks were already bummed to find out the event would be so late in the month, and to find out the day before that the event is not happening feels like a smack in the face to the people who planned time out of their work/school week to play the event.

This isn’t just people being impatient, I’m willing to wait as are many others. More than 24 hours notice would have caused less of a stir. As would a new release date.

Im gonna cut them some slack here because I know these are some of the most transparent devs out there usually, they normally are pretty good at letting us know what’s going on. This was an oopsie, I will forgive it. Hopefully they don’t leave us in the dark for a week, it’ll just cause more upset if they do.

  • All of the survivors are within 6 ranks of the killer, so even if some were playing together this is normal. They would announce if it were reverted.

  • Anyone who played killer before knew matchmaking was broken because it was so easily exploited, that’s why it changed. Although this much less broken, it’s not balanced either. It’s another bandaid fix. Not everyone abused matchmaking, not everyone carried their friends or bullied, and not everyone has time to git gud and make it to red ranks. Me and my dad used to get on once a week and play before this change. A duo with a rank 18 going against red rank killers is silly. We just played for fun, I took it very easy in our games before but do you think rank 1 killers are taking it easy? Of course not. I hope the devs look at a better fix sometime.

  • In general watching anyone self care or do nothing while you go into struggle on first hook. This combines with option 3 usually. I swear, the more you carry a team the more likely you are to die on first hook.

  • 10 bucks for some chains.. yeah no.

  • It happens for many of the same reasons any other type of bullying does. Usually that kinda behavior stems from personal problems and I’m sure it makes them feel better about the times they lose. Usually people have a lot more courage to say nasty things when they have complete anonymity and don’t have to look someone in the eyes.

I wouldn’t take anything negative people say to you to in game to heart. They’re not even truly saying it to you. You are on the other side of a screen, they probably don’t even see you as a person. Some people have no sense of empathy online. Just let it go and move onto the next game.

  • The first few months when I was playing survivor I hated billy. It seemed like he was super over powered, being able to cross the map and insta down, I thought it was bs. I went down every time he found me. I seriously hated him.

In all honesty though, with practice you’ll feel differently going against him. In fact you might actually like it some day. I can’t give you much advice, because it really does take trial and error learning to juke his chainsaw, and looping comes with playtime but if you can watch some people play against him and see how easy it can be you might feel better about it.

  • Hag traps only get me the first time I set one off if I didn’t know who the killer was. Ghost Face doesn’t scare me even when he’s a sneaky boi. Pig is a cutie no matter what, and Spirit is Spirit. I see her so much I’m desensitized. I still to this day will sometimes be on a gen, turn my camera and see Mikey sucking my soul juice and have a scream and run like an idiot. It’s one of the greatest joys in this game for me though.
