Doctor is a very hard killer to balance properly because his kit focuses on denying survivors their tools to survive instead of enhancing his own abilities. This is inherently unfun to a lot of players regardless of how strong he is. His kit is super strong against new players but struggles against experienced players.
Hindered would only add to his annoyance factor. I’d say reduce his detonation time and increase the range so he doesn’t rely on add ons for either of those things

Yeah i really wonder why no one uses Inner Stregth with OtR. You get the full heal and still have the OtR protection until you touch something.
Or CoH + Botany. For really fast heals. Sometimes i don´t understand this community.
I honestly feel like some just don’t keep up with patch notes. Some people just play the game without giving a damn about the next update especially mid chapters since they have little content
-
Pinhead is overall stronger due to even 1 chain hunt turning the tide of a match.
it also forces at least 1 survivor to do something besides generators which can give him an instant chase if he’s not in one at the time
He also has decent antiloop and with engineer’s fang an easy way to injure them
-
Is there really any way to fix this? If someone doesn’t want to play a match they won’t even if it means just going AFK
-
At that point just make it a non event add on. Would be unfair for people who can’t play during the event
-
Sadako is a pretty good licensed killer. She nails the feel of the movie while playing her which is the most important thing imo
-
Nothing wrong with using the best counterplay option available
-
It was a huge change in terms of fun factor. DH feels way more fair and skillful to use and get hit by. Plus it comes at the cost of mending and giving the killer stacks of STBFL
-
@Tsulan said:
Considering how the 6.1.0 patch aimed to shake up the meta, i´d say it failed and hard. SC and DH still the 2 most used survivor perks. For how many years in a row?
I don’t even think they can change self care in a way where it won’t be the most popular perk
Inner healing is literally free to all players yet people still use SC over it
-
I like the idea of an endorsement system similar to OW. The only issue is that certain killers wouldn’t get any like nurse or legion even if they played nice due to how the community hates them

Judging from the amount of skins released. I´d say Feng is the most played survivor followed by Dwight.
Since it only makes sense to make so many skins for popular survivors.
Feng is also free on console which is a huge boost. Meg is probably more popular than Dwight since she gets a cosmetic in literally every rift and is free like him
Least played is probably Quentin and yoichi from my experience due to being pretty unknown licensed characters. As for original it’s probably Haddie and Adam
-
That’s the neat part you don’t
-
I’d be pretty curious about survivor pick rates. Obviously it doesn’t matter since they are just skins but it would be cool to see who the least and most played are
-
This is a bit too accurate tbh. Did you manage to find stats or something?
-
I’m just trying to figure out what the major issue with his add ons were to warrant complete removal. Huntress kept her cooldown and charge time through her pass so why shouldn’t billy have his?
-
Feel free to kill me Haddie haters :)

Also, the Nurse has been the number 1 killer for way-way too long. 6 years of Nurse dominating.
Yep she was literally made to counter infinites back in the older years
Her power has been nerfed repeatedly yes but if she can still go through a walls for a hit she’ll be the best killer in the game without question
-
My main issue with nurse is how she has a choke hold on perk balance. Like with AA being too strong on “certain killers”. Because of the nerf nurse is now one of the few killers who can actually make use of it
It stifles perk variety when 1 killer holds many perk ideas back because she is too strong thus hurting the killer who could make good use of them
Nurse’s issues go beyond just her

DC penalty is disabled currently.
True but that wasn’t due to cheaters afaik. Either way it’s temporary unlike the current cheater problem
-
@CoDismylife said:
If you get a cheater just leave the game. They will get bored cheating if killers don't feed them anymore
And get a penalty that increases every time I do so? Not really a realistic solution if it’s locking me out of the game
-
“Mr. Streamer man said it so it must be true”
Can we as a playerbase actually form our own opinions?

yes
All medium vaults are now fast vaults
That’s not a great idea. It makes looping well around tiles much less skillful and certain tiles way stronger due to no longer forcing medium vaults.
How would clown and Freddy even work? Their main power is basically to force medium vaults at windows for hits

I honestly like the idea of overzealous requiring an objective for the perk to take effect and isnt permanent, relatively underrated but is balanced all around
I just wish it was a bit easier to keep. It should be removed on hook instead of hit imo.
Cleansing a hex totem notifies the killer so it’s likely your 16% boost will be gone in a matter of seconds

Glad you decided to share with everyone how part of a problem of solo q you are. @Phasmamain as you can see, it is not an "archive" only problem, since people like this keep doing it.
Never said it was solely an archive problem. The archive just encourages regular players into this behaviour by rewarding them for doing so.
This isn’t a dbd only issue either. Basically any game with solo queue is bound to be a shitshow. I’ve played OW, Smite, LOL and even co-op games like back 4 blood.
-
Gen perks should never be passive except for hexes imo. They should require something active from both sides such as cleansing a totem, kicking a gen or downing a survivor
That and I dislike skill check based perks due to the inherent RNG
-
You basically make a web of traps and force survivors into them. If the survivors are good this will lead to long fairly boring matchs
-
Didn’t they spell Susie in 2 different ways for the legion’s lore? I swear it’s spelled both Susie and Suzie
Some archives also have some weird wording. Probably due to BHVR being a French Canadian company
-

Even without archives you get people like this.
That’s true sadly but the archives encourage this behaviour way more.
For example the green glyph challenge forces you waste a ton of time to find meaningless objectives after your team does gens
Or even the key hatch challenge. That literally forces you to play scummy to get it
-
@Marigoria said:
People who hide all game are part of the problem, that includes you now. Congratulations on continuing the cycle of making solo miserable.
This is more on BHVR for making a terribly designed archives challenge.
Adchives are like 50% of why solo is so miserable
-
So a fast vault regardless of angle? That was how it used to be before that realised it was way too easy to loop
-
Honestly not much. Best bet is to keep distance and force her into prediction shots. You could also try leaving any loop she sets up at to gain distance.
Also flash bangs/ flashlights can destroy crows set down by her
-
Honestly I’ve noticed little difference. More killers have left when getting a bad map like garden of joy but that’s about it
-
I don’t think it’s realistically possible to have a good MMR system in this game. How can that function when both sides can technically win at the same time?
-
Groovy
-
Slinger can 100% vault hit. Walking backwards while reeling makes it nearly impossible for survivors to break free.
He’s not amazing but is still decent when played well

From my personal experience I wouldn't say she is one of the least played characters. There a plenty of male characters that I see a lot less. Sure, she's not the most common female character I see played but I still see her about as much as I see less played characters, such as Jane and zarina.
Honestly I’ve been seeing tons of zarina lately. Probably because she’s got some great cosmetic choices now compared to launch

They had chance to make cute Indian girl survivor but what we got is Nea's grandma. So i am not surprised she is not popular, she is lame almost like Jonah.
Not every woman in the game has to be downright beautiful. Even then Haddie looks pretty decent (Just wish her hair was actually white like it should be)
Agreed on Jonah though. So much wasted potential with him

Exponential can be a decent situational combo and Overcome is great. Adam has Deli & Pebble/Autodidact are both lots of fun goofs.
Adam’s teachables are super fun! Jonah’s are pretty boring though imo but overcome is pretty strong
Haddie’s perks just feel too situational to be used at all consistently
-
@Lobos said:
2 out of 3 of Haddie's perks are not bad at all! Overzealous grants repair speed boosts for as long as you play safely. Making it a great addition to a gen jockey build!
Residual Manifest guarantees flashlights from chests and removes killers aura reading for 30 seconds with each blind. Great for flashlight warriors!
Inner focus is the useless perk because it is just simply not as good as other more useful perks like Bond, Empathy, Alert, or Kindred.
It all boils down to her not having enough cosmetic options. Her very limited cosmetic options are simply boring and very bland compared to the other female characters.
Residual manifest is fine but even for flashlight users it’s effect is pretty negligible except maybe against I’m all ears but at that point just run distortion
Overzealuos needs a hex to actually be significant which are already rare in this meta. Even then 1 injure and it’s gone completely
-
Adam has 1 solid perks and Jonah also has 1 solid perk. Jonah has got a tome already though so that’s a pretty good boost to his popularity

I think you raise an interesting point about how they did her teaser lore with various different versions of Haddie. Personally, I think that's an aspect of the lore that's been mishandled. I think the only time I really thought it was done well was with Terra Arachna, where you saw a clearly different version of Falls City and characters from Nea's tome in a survival horror story. Otherwise, it just... disconnects things, I guess, to throw out a bunch of conflicting lore and then say "this all did and didn't happen at the same time" or "the backstory we just gave you is of an ~alternate version~ of your character." It gives any particular story way less impact and mostly comes out looking confused.
Also, yes, Haddie desperately needs cosmetics. I know for a fact that there's a black version of her Prime outfit that's seemingly vanished into the ether, and it was meant to release with her alongside that Prime outfit. Her Masquerade outfit is great, but that was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it release.
While people are correct that the more survivors exist, the fewer people will want to main a new one unless they're from a beloved licensed property, Mikaela Reid is a perfect example of how good perks and good cosmetics can attract a significant fanbase.
All new survivors besides her launched with 2 green cosmetics so there should realistically be a second one. Now that Haddie has more or less failed to attract a playerbase it’s unlikely she’ll receive much attention which sucks

I don't think perks have anything to do with it, especially now where you can unlock them universally.
The only thing that's going to get people to play a survivor is either that survivor being iconic, or having some sort of actual advantage (Ace's noise profile).
There are exceptions, like Mikaela, but she fulfills an iconic archetype in that she's a 'pretty witch'.
Perks are more so whether you buy the survivor in the first place. If you buy a survivor there’s more chance you will play them. Right now Haddie has 3 awful perks not worth buying
2nd point is debatable. Not many seem to care about the noise advantage since Ace himself is very rare to find (Mostly due to his mediocre perks). Characters like Kate, Mikaela and Yui are all played because they appeal to a lot of people through their cosmetics and Lore.
If characters like Haddie were to receive more cosmetics they would end up being played more. But to be honest I don’t blame BHVR for releases constant Meg and mikaela skins since they do make the most money
-
@StarLost said:
Eh.
Here's the thing.
A 'new' survivor doesn't really mean much beyond perks and a new skin. Thus, unless it's an extremely iconic character like Ada or is part of a challenge, people will play them a bit to get their perks/see something new, then go back to the survivor they have all the addons, cosmetics and offerings on.
It's why you see so many Dwights, Megs and Fengs running around and not many Jonahs or Yoichis.
That’s definitely a fair point. My main issue lies in the fact that BHVR were clearly hyping Haddie in the tomes so she could have a big impact in the lore. They then proceed to release her with 3 pretty trash perks and 2 time limited skins alongside 1 locked set.
Why put in all that effort when you do everything to make people not want to play her?
-

I like choosing between three 'technically not identical' heads. Also can somebody tell me what exactly is so aesthetically pleasing about Garden? It's just a big house and normal tiles with a red tint.
I liked Garden of joy’s boundaries and things like the upturned bus window. It’s not the most appealing but it looks pretty nice
-
@Seraphor said:
Who cares about survivors mains and how many people play a given survivor? They're literally just cosmetics.
It is 100% down to visual appeal and a bit of their vocals. Back story, perks, chapter, etc. mean absolutely nothing.
There's also the positive feedback loop of new cosmetics. Popular survivors get more cosmetic options, which makes them even more popular. There's no solution to this, because cosmetics make money. Why release more Haddie cosmetics if only 2 people will buy them?
Perks play a part into who you buy and therefor potentially who you play. Not everyone has every survivor so they might main the character who has perks they want on.
The backstory matters though to a much lesser extent than appearance. Jeff’s backstory is the main reason I play him for example
Sadly the positive feedback part is right. I just hope Haddie gets some cosmetics down the line that aren’t time limited or locked as a set.

I mean statistically the longer the game goes on and Survivors get added the fewer players you will see running paid characters.
It's not like I see an ocean of Yoichi players out there, either.
Yoichi is very unpopular as well but I think that’s more so down to just how little people actually know his character. He’s an aged up version of the main character from a Japanese horror film.
That and his lack of cosmetics
-
Damn what an #########. Sadly I use epic games store but if it means people like this take the plunge by all means get rid of it
-
I understand that rng is kinda needed and will always mess with map design but things like the garden of joy main building are just inexcusable. It feels like it was designed for 2017 dbd
realm beyond looks cool but honestly made the maps worse overall
-
Firstly he’s a licensed character which generally means more play time
Secondly his power has loads of applications, is strong in chase and has a satisfying learning curve
lastly he has voice lines

Wish I could say the same. Only reason that keeps me playing is incentives being on. 24h and trying to grind Quentin to p100.
Solo Q has been quite trash still, dcs, suicides, people not taking aggro etc.
Honestly I’m just used to that at this point. Stopped finding it frustrating since queues are generally fast and I can be in another match quickly
Only thing I find frustrating is genuine sandbagging but that’s quite rare from my experience
