It encouraged farming and tunnelling which is the last perk the game needs right now in its current state
-
@Blueberry said:
Essentially you make tunneling near impossible to do while simultaneously shrinking maps, weakening loops and lessening pallets. This prevents the tunnel but also makes pressuring the map and downing another survivor not take nearly as long which in turn slows gens down. They also need to make injures matter, currently self healing through medkits and CoH makes injures near worthless. Injures without crazy self healing slows the gens down as well as it forces teammates off them.
It’s a good overall idea but I can’t see a way to really stop tunnelling. If you crank it up too much then survivors will play offensively if they get hooked twice to make use of the effects
Agreed on self healing being too strong though. Hell they literally nerfed leverage specifically self healing speed which is very worrying because self healing should be slower not faster

I personally don't want the perk gutted, it's a fun concept, and feels reasonable in a lot of scenarios.
But breathing down a survivors neck for 5 seconds every down is not reasonable, it's boring and stupid. Let instant, non lunge m1 attacks ignore Dead Hard, I'll repeat this idea till we get midchapter patch notes.
Not a bad idea actually and would help stop scripters from guaranteed 3rd health states
That would be enough for me to be happy as it would still work great against killers like nurse and blight were DH feels almost necessary
-
To try to give the chapter an identity of some kind as the “chapter that released teamwork perks”
Problem is they suck and are completely outclassed and take half the match to recharge
-
Chase perks are pretty effective on her. Running brutal strength, fire up and the action speed add-on is super fun for super fast pallet break especially if you corral them into a dead zone with your drones
Since she’s so good at holding a 3 gen she can get great value out of fire up that not many killers can
-
@Xernoton said:
Ok. What if I'm tired of trying to counter DH in 2/3 of my chases as killer? It's exhausting.
Countering perks is a part of normal gameplay and most certainly won’t go away if DH is killed
For killers you’ll still have to counter SB (Which you can’t if it’s used effectively) and other exhaustion perks
For survivor they’ve had to counter totem builds (Ruindying) and PR DMS almost every game when they were the respective meta for killers. Even further back they had to play around spirit fury enduring when that was more popular or even getting into a locker/behind a gen vs BBQ
DH is annoying yes but it’s alternatives aren’t much more fun
-
Friendly competition just doesn’t seem worth it imo. Would rather take something like DH or OTR so you don’t get tunnelled immediately
-
I’m enjoying merchant personally so the chapter is still on my radar. The perks are disappointing but that’s to be expected
-
Tbh the community’s blatant horniness is what has caused this. The devs are just cashing in on it
-
Mine is the same as always with survivors in the morning and killer in the evening. Not that I’m complaining since i can actually play the new killer without 10 minute queues
-
Yeah her perks suck and don’t really synergise with her power much
-
It would be cool to have a second neurodivergent character since Claudette was hinted to be in her tome
-
It’s definitely better than the old shelter woods. As a balanced landing user I’m glad I can actually use the perk on it
-
I like it personally but some are way longer than others especially leon
-
I like to drop drones at common loop spots (Badham fence window, Ironworks scaffolding etc) which either gives me exposed or zones them to weaker areas i can reluably get hits at using enduring and spirit fury. Save 1 drone for chase and have the other on the most progressed gen
Other 2 perks are jolt for sliwdown and either Sloppy or franklins if more than 2 medkits
-
I've been loving her so far. She feels like hag but you can actually M1 chase people without throwing the match
She also has the area denial aspect i loved about clown

To each their own. I find her way too boring. Got the adept and not touching her again.
Fair enough. Her power isn't really very in depth or hard to use but i kinda like that. She's simpme which isn't a bad thing

Be Sure to use height to your advantage. On top of the harvester on the farm maps is a good place to put it.
Forgot about that actually. Her power is great for multi floor maps like midwich and Gideon as well

I'm sure it's because she is indeed fun and not because of her 10$ skin.
If I was horny I’d just play huntress with her new skin
-
@HastuneMiku said:
Please explain in detail, as if I were 5 years old, how you use her power effectively. Cause I don't get it.
Drop drone at loop to force expose or push them away from loop
Place drones at good loops to corral survivors into dead zones for free hits
Place drones at gens for free info
Mkae sure to use scanner to track survivors with claw traps (They get them from disabling drones)
Constantly be recalling drones so you have them ready for chase and don’t forget to activate drones ahead of you in chase

Well I'm glad that there's at least a couple people enjoying this chapter at least
Honestly as a whole the chapter is still just meh but merchant is pretty fun
Too bad her perks suck though
-
@Nos37 said:
Survivors just pre-drop once they know about Endfury. How do you get any value??
I barely manage 1 health state worth of damage with it and then never again the rest of the match, at the cost of TWO perk slots.
Hard to know in solo que when it’s in play. Against SWF it’s a bit trickier but her action speed add on does allow for quicker pallet breaks which is nice
Plus a lot of maps have dead zones you can corral survivors into with well placed drones
-
I might finally get my pink hair Jane on PC.
-
The chapter is just meh to me but Haddie changes make me excited
-
Her power isn’t interesting to most and has a lot in common with knight who was just released
Her visual design is boring at best and terrible at worst

Thanks for clarifying that. Can you explain a bit further what you mean by anti-loop? Because technically speaking every killer in DBD (including SM) has some kind of anti-loop.
I consider anti loop the ability to make loops unsafe. Sure merchant can expose you but the loop itself is still safe and usable against her you are just punished more for messing up
On the other hand you have knight and artist. These killers make loops completely unsafe to where you have to leave or else you get hit. That is not the case for merchant or let’s say Myers or piggy

That's fine. We don't need 10 different versions of Blight, I agree. But what is it that makes Skull Merchant a good killer in your opinion?
I'm trying to find out what qualities a killer needs to have to be a good killer.
In my personal opinion it's a power with high skill expressions for both sides and different ways to play as and against that killer. Knight and Skull Merchant fall short in that regard. But I know that some people genuinely like Skull Merchant and Knight. That's exactly why I asked: "If you do like the Skull Merchant, what is it that makes her a good killer in your opinion?"
I like killers who focus more on info and other aspects then just straight up anti loop.
While she can deny loops it’s not like knight where you literally can’t loop any tile because it’s a guaranteed hit for him. She still has to M1 hit you

After next update, anyone who brings anything but DH will be tunneled into oblivion because of Blood Rush.
And anyone who brings DH will be tunneled because of DH.
And those who don't bring exhaustion will be tunneled because no exhaustion.
Perfect coverage.
Blood rush head on meta here we come! Double stun
-
I’d rather get killers like merchant every now again instead of every killer being “Blight but with 1 different aspect to their power”
Variety is necessary in a game as simple as DBD. That’s why we have so many perks
-
You can’t fix knight without a full rework. His power will always be unfun just due to the nature of AI helpers that are your only power (unlike nemmy)
But that being said he doesn’t need a nerf either. He’s mediocre outside of a 3 gen cheese strat which can only be fixed by fixing 3 gens/regression themselves

Trickster's power was new and different of all others , Skull merchant is a recycle killer on all aspects.
Knight power, but modern
Freddy mori
Trickster Style, but female.
How is trickster new when he’s essentially huntress 2?
Sure merchant isn’t very unique but to say trickster is is a huge stretch

Blight is literally the perfect killer( excluding a few add-ons) and will never be topped in terms of gameplay. He denies the worst aspects of the game for both sides and allows for the most amount of skilled play on both sides at the same time. Wesker was so well received because he is essentially a mildly different and weaker version of blight with slowdown built in. Blight has the most counter play in this game by far but none of it is available at any given time, he requires knowledge and skill to deal with him, something too many players lack or care for in this game. For all of my blight games I rarely receive any post game negativity especially related to blight. The only real post game negativity I receive is from comp teams that have egos and are genuinely not very good in chase imo, even though they have the skill of plat 1 players in league comparatively to dbd. They think just because they are better than all the terrible players this game consists of that they are good at this game, at least chase wise.
Anyway back to the point, if someone is complaining about blight they are really complaining about add-ons. Well, other than the hug-tech that any player with a little talent for video games and a little game sense under their belt can deal with.
At least in current dbd. If a killer lacks either mobility or some form of anti-loop, they cannot hope to have skill expressive gameplay. Survivor's don't want to go against a killer that makes them play like a bot. Killers in my experience want to play skill expressionless killers while also being able to contend with good survivors. I am also only talking about their kit, it's irrelevant how good of macro you need if the power requires zero thinking.
As with all games that are even mildly competitive, players want to be rewarded for skilled play. Not lose to something a newborn could pull of on either side.
My only other issue with blight is how his collision is inconsistent. He slides right off cars and certain shack but other objects he gets stuck to

Haddie rework?? Didn't know this was a thing. Are they updating her face? Her model looks horrible right now.
They are updating it slightly but it’s mainly her hair model (She actually has the white streak now instead of it being blue)

-"Dead Hard is the clear winner."
But your numbers do not reflect the actual distance you can get.
With SB you run in the killers face and he knows you have no tricks left. They get in lunge range and swing immediately.
With DH you get to loop and then you get distance so you can loop some more. In the right terrain DH can turn a 20 second chase into a 40 or 60 second chase. You will never do that with SB.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3363348#Comment_3363348
-"Nothing is worse than 4 good SB users if you are playing a weaker killer"
When you say weaker I assume you mean : moves slowly and/or m1 killer.
We should just make all the killers either have teleports, a movement speed power or be 120% speed.
Take every killer that has no movement power or teleport power and give them a 5% speed boost. Now they suck a lot less. "But that would break looping". The killers literally have no option at most safe loops so giving them more speed would make them fair again.
Making characters like Artist and Knight 120% is not a good idea since they already deny looping completely. It would only encourage holding W even more
-
The chains come in groups of 3. Dodge 3 and you can solve it’s without the chains interrupting you

If I saw lobbies full of sb users I'd be pretty happy. I rarely they use it well and they are normally super obvious. Gee I wonder why meg and steve are slow walking out in front of me, I wonder what will happen if I take one step towards them? I remember when they changed dead hard and everyone was saying "enjoy all the sb users killers" etc and yeah I saw more sb than before and nope it wasn't really a big deal.
When people use sprint burst early that’s when it becomes an issue as continuing to chase them will cost a ton of time. If they are holding it they are using it wrong as you said just like many use dead hard wrong
Nothing is worse than 4 good SB users if you are playing a weaker killer

I'm definitely on board for an aquatic themed killer. As a side note why they haven't given slinger a pirate skin yet is beyond me.
Even a fisherman or deep sea diver skin. Would make his harpoon gun make a lot more sense

He looks cool but I’ve had more fun playing the tutorial then playing against him

He can do well if you play him well. He is definitely not the strongest but not the weakest.
He requires just more practice than others, that's it.
He’s objectively one of the weaker killers though. His add-ons are basically placebos, His snares are just worse versions of clown/pinhead’s powers that don’t work if the survivor is awake and his teleport is just worse sadako/dredge power
He’s basically a clown/dredge hybrid but is still worse than both of them
-
Haddie finally gets white hair and her unreleased recolour so even if the chapter sucks I’m happy

Yeah no...Eruption at least rewarded the killer for playing well and getting consistent downs while also managing to go out of their way and damage gens to keep the pressure applied. DH is just a free 3rd health state at every pallet and against killers like Huntress, Pig, Trickster, Wesker, Twins, Pyramid Head, Knight, and Nemesis. You can say they're on even playing field which I wouldn't exactly get behind but its more agreeable than "Eruption was way more busted than DH ever was." When DH removes any and all pressure you apply by injuring survivors.
So holding a 3 gen as knight for 1 hour is good gameplay?
-
Anyone else waiting in anticipation for the sprint burst hate mob a month after dead hard is killed?
-
They did change knight. Making him fun to p,any against is basically impossible without reworking him which is not really possible so close to his release
As for Onryo the slugging condemned strat has kept her kill rate high so bhvr don’t really care
-
Tbf people will usually gender you based on which character you play (Male or female) so if for example you were p,aging Adam they would probably use he/him pronouns. these badges would probably only cause more issues with bigotry
I wish it wasn’t like that but honestly that’s just how most multiplayer games are
-
Is it really that long? Like I’m pretty sure it’s about 10 seconds at most
-
Anything slower than 100% would make looping pretty unviable which would basically make holding w the on,y option. Just look at what wesker’s slowdown and bloodlust t1 can do at some loops for example
-
Yeah the game being locked at 60 was always weird to me. Higher frame rates wouldn’t give a huge advantage in the game and it’s system requirements aren’t high enough to warrant one
-
I like finally being able to hear the full hook audio. That being said some survivors screams are way too long
-
Only issue with wesker is how easy it is to tunnel thanks to the infection slowing survivors down
