im wondering if you have actually played killer with this change or you’re just complaining to complain. it’s really not that big of a difference. run agitation or iron grasp if you can’t handle this small change :)
How about survivors use Prove Thyself or simply cleanse totems if they can't handle ruin :)

Remember those perks were changed in the past after a huge amount of complaints 😉.
They got nerfed for a short period, then buffed again.

Where do I begin....
1) Just because I said survivors have received nerfs doesn't mean I don't acknowledge killer nerfs as well. However a lot of them are justified in my opinion.
2) I've said to another user in this post that I agree that some killers need a rework and that there are definitely some balance changes that need to be seen.
3) The reason for the ruin nerf is because we had a lot of killers depipping on purpose and going into low rank games and survivors were getting absolutely demolished by ruin. Those are the survivors that complained. And rightfully so. Ruin is devestating when you're just learning the ropes.
Ruin isn't hard to counter at all, I think those survivor crybabies need to get good ;^)

Yeah criticism, not constructive criticism. It's bothering to see the devs on here being respectful and then people have to disrupt it because they're upset their side is getting "nerfed".
Respectful?? They're generally quite rude, insulting, and dismissive.

Like I've said in previous post. Cut the devs some slack. I bet their day is hard enough without people like you always coming after them.
The devs aren't toddlers who can't handle a real conversation. If they do something that deserves criticism, they should hear it. That's why these forums exist, that's why they're here..
-
@Peanits said:
Do devs think that chasing survivors is not a challenge anymore?
I'm not sure where that was mentioned, but no, that's not the case at all. The hooks on Lery's were previously very abundant, so they were toned down slightly. Now they'll be more in line with other maps.
Nerf Doc and Ruin for being "Too challenging" for survivors. In the same update you also nerf hooks to make the game "more challenging" for killer...
Will you ever address the clear and blatant bias you guys have for survivor?
-
@mitrokosta said:
Just facecamp them both. Sucks for the hooked survivor but it's the exploiter's fault.
And then DING DING DING gens are done gg

I heard you can just move to the side and hit the survivor, rendering their tactic unless.
False, see the post above yours.

Its killer bug so expect it be fixed in a few months.. But survivor bugs are fixing within few days..
Apparently DS is broken in the latest patch and of course the devs are scrambling to fix it right away, but we've been waiting for weeks for them to fix invincible survivors..
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
DS is fine. It's just 5% of the playerbase that uses it and 10% of the killer base playing against it.
You can call me whatever you want, but we all know that I have a point.

It almost sounds like you're either a little too aggressive with your play, OR you've been baited.
Doing my objective is "Too aggressive"? Am I supposed to just stand in a corner while survivors tbag and run free? What's the point then.

Survivors aren't immune to being hit, just move to the side of the hook and hit them.
Then, if they go for the save afterwards, down the savior and hook them. 😁
You can't blame everything on the developers, just so you know.
They are immune and it's a bug, confirmed by devs. They simply don't care because pandering to survivors is their #1 priority.

Have you tried, I dunno, not being predictable and robotic in your killer gameplay?
Hmm only just joined the forum to day to attack and insult killers. Who wants to bet this is a dev making an alt account to damage control criticism..
-
They won't even fix survivors being immune inside hooked teammates and that's been in the game for how many weeks? So sick of their blatant survivor bias, it's disgusting.
-
@Shirtless_Myers said:
This idea is terrible and brings back memories of the Legion mend timer exploit. You can easily enough follow a survivor while walking backwards at them. Decisive Strike is fine, if you don't like it simply don't tunnel the survivor after they're unhooked.
I'm so sick of this poorly thought out "Just don't tunnel" line. It's already been explained a million times that you can chase someone else, down and hook them, then find the DS survivor by chance, chase and down them, and STILL get hit with DS. I literally go out of my way to not tunnel and it still gets me, it's ridiculous.

We're aware of the problem and working on it. The fix turned out to be more complex than expected, so it's not slated for the imminent release. As usual, I can't comment on when it will be fixed, but we will definitely fix it.
Yeah bullshit you just don't care because it's negative for killers and positive for survivors. You bias never ends.

some killer perks do need to be changed and i bet multiple people are discussing that in their own threads.
None of the devs respond though. You will NEVER see one of them say "Yeah great idea let's buff this killer perk :D" instead you might get a dev insulting you telling you that killer's opinions are wrong.

I like the idea behind this, I think the numbers would probably need tweaking but I think it's one of the best ideas I've read about this perk.
Not gonna lie, it'd be great if you guys cared even HALF this much about killers suggesting their perks to be reworked or buffed..

In "Player Mode" for this post.
I play both, but I prefer Killer. I'm very much looking forward to new Ruin. I find it much more engaging as Killer because I have to be active to get use from it. As Survivor, I like having some control over whether it will affect me or not by deciding to stay on the gen or not at certain points in the gameplay.
You've just been completely ignoring every piece of criticism and feedback haven't you?
-
Hey you guys want to keep nerfing every killer and killer perk, this is what you're going to get. Why the hell would someone subject themselves to such a one-sided and un-fun experience with little reward?
-
@Almo said:
I'll just repeat that when we say we wish to "reduce frustration" against X, that does not mean "make X easier to play against." Less frustrating is not necessarily easier. Often it means shifting the focus from a mechanic to a strategy.
Notably new Ruin is actually really hard on new Survivors. They have no idea what's happening.
So why do you never look at making killer less frustrating?
-
@Mandy said:
We recently tested a new system, it was on for a short while for testing. It was not removed because it upset the people who were dc'ing @Perelie it was removed because it was not where it needed to be, which was why it was only in testing phase.
When we have a fully working solution, please be assured we will communicate about it here. And it is something that's still being worked on - the issue of DC's has not been forgotten about.
Awesome, cheers for response.
-
Survivors are too lazy to get good. It's not all their fault though, it's the devs for always giving them so many crutches and biased balance changes.
-
@Broccoli_Jaeger said:
They can't do something about DC's because it's an easy way out of the match for the survivors. It's the only thing they can do if a killer is OP. And when the Devs remove it, all the baby survivor mains are going to cry.
Not saying they need to remove the option, just punish people for doing it, it's that easy.
-
@arslaN said:

Yeah and they deleted it because it was working and upset people who were DC'ing lol

@twistedmonkey said:
Yes they will be but it needs to be 100% proof when reporting.
For Steam you need to record as you did. Report them with the in game system and then open up the players profile within the same video and show the profile along with the steamID and upload it to a website.
Send all the info using the dbd support web page and fill out the form with all info it asks for.
The devs can game ban someone and also send the info to easy anti cheat to be looked into.
The issue with Steam is being able to use any name or change names constantly and why the steam id is needed as that can't change.
It won't stop them buying a new copy but once easy anti cheat catches up it means more chances to catch them for a future hardware ban.
Other games actually have anti-cheat which works better, not sure why BHVR won't do that?
-
@Divinitye9 said:
Define “cheaters.”
What exactly are people doing that you see as cheating?
I am not dismissing your claim, but I have been accused of cheating because I had mad grit on one of my killers and swiped my way to a hook.
People who use hacks, be it wall hacks, speed hacks, whatever. It shouldn't be allowed.
People will lie and pretend hacking isn't a thing that exists in video games but it is, every online game has hackers. I don't record my matches, this isn't my video but here's one sample of proof: https://streamable.com/w58qr
-
You always had that option..
-
Won't work, totems spawn right next to gens and in the clear open anyway so it's not like people need to go off searching for them.
-
@Peanits said:
The elephant in the room is that you could walk backwards after a survivor to avoid a chase, allowing you to close the vast majority of that distance very quickly. Even a 4.6m/s killer would be closing the gap at over double the normal rate.
lol you wouldn't be saying this if you ever left brown ranks.
-
And you don't under stand from a killer's point of view..
-
Sure they listen, but only to survivors
-
@Mandy said:
Can I remind you that it's still got to be tested on the PTB - numbers can still be adjusted, please just try it out, then give feedback on it.
lol you guys don't care anyway. You always just tell us our opinions are wrong.

They're lying and I think it's disgusting.

@BrendanLeeT said:
I was kind of surprised by that and whether or not it was their intention the way they worded that post came off as extreme biased. They only ever mentioned survivor fun and not once took into consideration the killers fun.
The devs have always only ever cared about pandering to survivors. Pretty sure no one on the dev team plays killer at all.
-
He's clearly hacking, although why this is allowed I don't understand. Hacking is a big problem in online games, DBD especially but the devs ignore it. I suppose they're scared of banning people if it means less money from future transactions. Pretty messed up.

We have experienced players play the old version then the new version one after the other, then they take a survey which asks questions about relative frustration and fun levels.
Why do you guys only care about making the game fun for survivor? Why can't killer be fun too?
-
@Johnble said:
Makes sense to work on the Doctor's map at the same time as the Doctor, no? At least that's what I've read is the reasoning.
They should have reworked someone like Clown or Leatherface first, they're under-performing so badly. Do we really need more killer nerfs when killer is already trash and unfun?
-
The devs don't even play killer.

Its important to keep in mind a few things with the statistics.
First of all, DC's count as kills, and kills made it DC games also count. The immediate loss of a survivor will often snowball games, and I don't think anyone can argue that DC'ing isn't prevalent enough to influence the stats. ***This artificially inflates the kill rate.***
Secondly, kills made at any point in time are counted equally. This means games where killers are pulling hair and teeth to get 2 kills is valued equally to a killer game where two people suicide on hook and the killer farms with the remaining survivors.
Thirdly, and I cannot stress this enough, just because you killed the survivor and technically won, DOESNT MAKE THE KILLER EXPERIENCE ENJOYABLE. I can honestly say I've had games where people escaped and I've had more fun than games where I get everyone and have a troubling or frustrating round.
Finally, I'd just remember that since the exit gates have to be powered for more than one survivor to escape (with the exception of keys) 3ks will also be slightly more common than a 2 or 1 kill game. Just because maps lean into 60% doesn't mean that the map is particularly unbalanced or unfun to play on. On the other hand, a 50% kill rate on rotten fields means the gate is getting powered almost every game theoretically. Or, even worse, that there are enough 0k 4 man escapes go balance out killers who preform well.
There's just so many things that skew the stats that its not worth making such arguments off of them.
Very well said. It's so unfortunate that the devs simply do not care to look into what makes killer so unfun and unrewarding.

Please show me anything to substantiate this claim.
I am not disagreeing with you I would just like some evidence to support this. From the statistics released it appears the opposite. Again, I am not all knowing - I am just interpreting what is available to me in the best way I know. If I am wrong then I would love to be educated on how else to interpret them!
Okay forget arguing over stats for a second. How about we look at how much harder it is for killer to rank up. How killers are required to grind more for perks than survivor. How killers always lose their addons while survivors get to keep theirs if they escape.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/955078#Comment_955078
Again, disconnects werent taken into account in the statistics released to us. If a killer has disconnects in 90% of their games I'm sure (and I hope) that BHVR would look into same. As when killers and survivors disconnects on certain maps, addons, perk combos. I do not claim that they ignore anything with a disconnect. I am saying that the statistics released to us do not include games where a disconnect occurred.
Regardless, what we are presented here are maps with over 50% kill rates. I think its a good thing they are adjusting the maps which are furthest from the 50% kill rate and hope it is to bring them in line to be closer to a 50% kill rate.
The devs are biased so I suspect they're counting console kill rates in their stats to intentionally skew it to make killers appear too strong. That or as I've suggested, counting DC's which is very likely. If you've ever played killer out of brown ranks you would understand.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
Haddonfield is still statistically killer sided... It has a 56.73% kill rate.
Lerys is also killer sided with a 64.11% kill rate.
If the devs are aiming for their stated desired average of 50%, any changes should bring the maps to be more survivor sided...?
I do feel Hawkins and The Game should have been tackled first as they are the most "over performing" maps but I also think Hawkins should be left "settle" as its still quite new and that could account for higher kill rates.
Trust me, nothing in this game is killer-sided..
-
@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/955066#Comment_955066
While I agree that we shouldnt religiously cling to these stats, they are however the most up to date and best way to interpret the current health of the game. I mean, these stats are far better than clinging to "evidence" which is anecdotal at best.
I feel that the fact that the statistics released dont include any games where a disconnect occurs should also be taken into consideration. Survivors would rarely disconnect in a game they are winning. So, wouldnt that make the actual game statistics even more in the killers favour? Not to mention, games where someone disconnects on the first down are an almost certain zero-escape game for any killer (I know it is for me).
If DC's don't count, then why was Legion nerfed specifically because survivors kept DC'ing against him?
-
I don't know how you're supposed to complete the rift. I've been playing heaps since it released, have only two challenges left, and I still have about 2 pages to go. Is it designed to force you to pay to finish it? That's scummy as.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/955052#Comment_955052
NONE of the games used for statistics include matches with disconnects.
Those arent blanket killer nerfs. They are changes to specific killers. Doctor, from my understanding, is getting a buff. Also Freddy got a huge buff. Spirit and Nurse did need changes... Oni wasnt working as intended when released. Not technically a nerf but more of a change to bring him in line with how he performs on console.
They were nerfs and you know it you dishonest cretin.

@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/955043#Comment_955043
Can you please elaborate on this? Even the safest map by kill rate is over 53%.
From what I remember there havent been any blanket killer nerfs for quite some time (individual killer tweaks, yes, but nerfs to all killers?). The only blanket "nerfs" I can recall over the past number of patches have been to survivors.
I'm not trying to be rude I am genuinely trying to understand your logic here.
Stats are skewed by DC's counting as kills. Nerfs? Just recently we had 3 separate nerfs to Legion, nerfs to Oni just days after being added, nerfs to Nurse and Spirit, and soon Doctor.
