Counterplay for me but not for thee sums up survivor mains moaning about killers.
You essentially want survivor to have zero counterplay for the killer and just want killers to be robots.
Yes, of course I'd like that. That's absolutely what this post and my comment suggests. Thanks for your comment.

How about you use all the options available to you to just juke her?
Seriously, why do survivors always go for the "nerf the killer" card instead "hmm, let me get better vs this killer"
Try playing Nurse, get good with her, learn her weaknesses, and then translate those into your survivor play, and stop expecting every killer to be a carbon-copy replica of every other one so you only have to learn one strategy to loop.
This post is about adding a bit more counterplay by having Nurses commit to the distance of their held blink. If you think about it, the current mechanic doesn't really make sense. It didn't always work the way it does now. I believe the mechanic is actually a byproduct of the buff nurse received that allowed her to blink up and down floors.
This nerf would not suddenly allow survivors to start looping the nurse as you suggest. That's a gross overreaction.
-
You're progressing through your objective effectively by downing 2 survivors quickly. Meanwhile the other 2 survivors are progressing through their objective.
Nothing wrong here. You did well (or perhaps the survivors played poorly) to get those downs quickly. Well done.
-
Inexperienced Huntress players tend to over-enthusiastically wind up hatchets at pallets. So keep looping pallets with maybe a quick fake pallet drop sometimes (kinda stand still for a split second).
It's been a while but I've went against Huntress players that were easily looped 10+ times at the same pallet because they kept winding their hatchet up every time. Crazy.

Very interesting, it never crossed my mind that this mechanic would be changed. Is this nerf live?
This mechanic pre-nerf helped in very niche situations such as helping to dribble survivors further from the exit so that they die to EGC, but still.

New wiggle skill-checks are just too distracting for me :c
Yeah I feel the same way. I like to look around e.g., to see exit gate spawns but with the new wiggle system you gotta focus on the skillchecks.

Devotion level would be better info
I thought the same but let's be honest players would only use the info to dodge lobbies (for both sides).

It CAN'T secure a kill, because any survivors can run around and cleanse the totem if killer camp one, and there is 120(!) seconds to do so.
And if killer is good, they deserve a kill anyway.
AKA when the killer hooks a survivor at the NOED totem, there's nothing you can do.
Once spawned it absolutely can secure a kill (if you disregard 4% or Deliverance). I didn't think this was up for debate really.
-
You want to cancel someone for swearing at you? I get that's it's not particularly nice but this really is petty.
-
Because it's RNG, very powerful, hard to deal with as solo survivors and once activated it can 100% secure a kill. AKA when the killer hooks a survivor at the NOED totem, there's nothing you can do. Then there's the fact that NOED could be well hidden and even if it's found, survivors then have to find each other, then heal, open the gate AND get the unhook before they die... which isn't realistic really in solo queue.
Also the fact that some killers e.g., Nurse excel with NOED and add Infectious Fright to the mix and there's a big chance of a 4k even if she did poorly the entire match.
Also cleansing all totems before end game as solo against a good killer isn't really viable (it's a very poor tactic for multiple reasons as explained by Pulsar).
That's why it's seen as "unfair".
-
To be honest I think that's just sad. Yikes.
-
When it comes to end game, a coordinated save with multiple survivors + BT is always difficult to stop. You can't counter or secure kills every time (... unless you're leather face).
But what you could've done here is hit the survivor unhooking and chase and downed them. That's what you should always try to do in this situation and rinse and repeat. You suggested you are far from the exit so that could've worked. In this situation you generally shouldn't go for the unhooked survivor precisely because of DS + BT.
-
The other comments pointed out the issue. If you want though, you can always level up Mikaela to level 35 to get her teachable perk: Boon: Circle of Healing. This is the perk you describe and seem to want to use. Once her teachable perk is unlocked you can then level up Jonah and it will eventually (randomly) appear in his bloodweb when you level him up.

Or am I just crazy? I don't think the role is easy, but I don't take it so hard when I lose. Sometimes I find end game chat behavior a little horrid but oh well....
Do you mind saying what killer or killers you play, your playstyle etc? I used to play killer years ago but quit it almost completely due to a variety of reasons but one of the main reasons was because of stress.
I want to play some killer again but don't want to feel too stressed...
-
I don't understand why if DS is helpful outside of being tunneld it must be nerfed? Players seem to suggest that DS should be solely anti-tunnel... but why? I think it's in a good spot with only a few QOL tweaks that could be made to it.
-
Window and pallet fakes can help because when timed right they're basically a 50/50. If you are intending on vaulting, the killer needs to commit to an early lunge to hit you in time. So the killer has to guess.
But you should only do them when you have to.
-
With this nerf I can't really see any time it'll really be useful except when the killer is trying to get you in the basement and drops down. But they can see the Boil Over icon anyway so they will just make sure to not drop down the basement stairs.
So basically, it's really bad now. They should've just removed the wiggle bonus from great heights completely and added a different mechanic.
-
Wouldn't this perk prevent all survivors that would otherwise be hit out to be stuck? I personally already dislike the fact that Pinhead and The Twins can prevent survivors escaping with a mini bloodwarden so am against this idea. If you really want to stop DS at end game I suggest downing the survivor early and perhaps bringing Knock Out to make them move slower.
-
- Don't loop any pallets, pre-drop when he is close. I know some Blight player's personally ridicule me for this... but they do so because it's the best tactic. If you loop you're giving them a pretty easy hit. So it is how it is.
- When a Blight goes for a hug tech, try immediately running around the other object of the loop.
- If the Blight is good at flicking around corners of a loop, stop hugging the loop for a split second when the blight is flicking and run to where the blight came from (you should be running right past them).
- If it's a really good blight that baits DH's, run directly at him when injured and when he's in a rush. Then DH the next time he goes for the hit. Blight's have many rushes so like to use 1 rush to bait out a potential DH sometimes.
-
It really depends though. Spirit after the nerf is a LOT more fun to play against generally but when the Dried Cherry Blossom add-on is used and/or the spirit uses other good speed and duration addons, it's a bit tedious.
Deathslinger is more bearable after his nerf but I still don't like playing against him even though he can't quickscope so fast anymore. I still don't like him for the same pre-nerf reasons, but to a lesser extent.
-
I chose Bill because if I ever had to choose a survivor where I could only use their personal perks, it'd be him. Unbreakable and Borrowed Time can significantly change the outcome of the game, just because they exist. Killers always have to think about and revolve their gameplay around these powerful perks, especially BT, basically every game. Even when no one has them equipped... the killer doesn't know that.
David
and then Lauriewould be my next picks. David for DH and WGLF, Laurie for DS.Edit: I'd actually have to think more about Claudette and Mikaela for the next best personal survivor teachables. -
Same, it's strange.

One is monetized. One is not. I have never until recently had people in my video games who are demanding an audience. I don't get paid if I beat them. They get paid if they beat me. I have a day job so the dollar amount is trivial, but it's more the point.
I think you should educate yourself about how live streaming works if you think people get "paid if they beat" you. The vast majority don't get paid at all and it's more of a hobby they do for fun. If you tunneld me I'd probably find it quite entertaining. I usually find it quite funny someone wants me out the game so bad. Makes the chases that much more intense.
-
If you're on steam and their on steam, they will be perma banned if you report them via the form and in-game. Check their profile(s) a few days later and you will see a game ban on their profile.
Source: I reported someone a few days ago that said they'd be "pleased" if I offed my self. Their 3000 hours of progress is now... gone! All because they lost a game and had to type a few inappropriate words. Be nice, guys.

It didn't need the time buff. Just remove that and have the basic skill check area and leave it at that.
Nah, keep great skill checks so survivors can get more survival points. An easier way to get survival points has been long awaited. Just remove the buffed progress.
-
The vast majority of times when it comes to the killer going from door to door, I search chests and cleanse dull totems. It's not to spite the killer but I don't like the pressure and would rather chill. If I find a key, cool. If I don't at least I got some BP.
So yes, I would hide and deny him the hook.
-
Yes, but not too much. Because otherwise I'll just be off to the usual meta perks that have been around for years... which are boring.
-
With Overcome you have to be hit and heal up again before being able to use it again. If you're being tunneld off a hook or just don't have time to heal, tough luck. DH and SB don't have this problem.
-
Those survivors could've played better, sure. But this is a great showcase as to why these addons need a nerf.

Stuff from time-limited codes generally doesn't return - only exception I know of are the Christmas sweaters. Pretty sure the Boop the Snoot mask is never coming back, and I'm still distraught I was on break from the game when it dropped.
I also think base killer recolors from rifts, as well as single recolor pieces that didn't come with a full outfit (like Plague's Crown of Shame or the one Huntress Wono axe) tend not to come back.
Then there's also bloodletting, anniversary crowns and skins, Nintendo switch exclusives, DiaTech hype shirt etc. There are lots of exclusive skins. Not sure if they've all been actually named "exclusive" by the devs but it's unlikely we'll see any of the skins I mentioned return (except perhaps the anniversary skins).
-
I hope other things are added too such as being able to see the loadout of each survivor. Potentially in the lobby but certainly also in-game when the menu is open.
Then I as a solo queue survivor will know whether its best for Bill to get the unhook as he has BT. I will know whether the survivor being tunneld off the hook needs help by seeing if they have DS or not, etc.
-
These are some screenshots from (what I believe is) my second ever game:
Pallet at a TL loop (cursed image):
After all of my friends died in the basement to the Trapper it was my turn on the hook. And of course in true fashion to all new players, I attempted escape on the hook. On my third attempt I escaped.
About 3 seconds later... the Trapper kind of just stared at me in disappointment:
And then I bled out in true DBD fashion because of a bug, I presume. He couldn't pick me up and I was unable to recover. My first encounter with a DBD bug perhaps? I was very confused because my friends kept telling me "hold m1 to recover!".
The end.

Lots of posts on the forum are just people wanting immediate nerfs to something after a bad game. Like wanting a nerf to DS because they got hit by it. Those posts are pretty lame so I don't take them very seriously.

One is a recolor of the main outfit given to people who had to deal with the old (And way harder) way to level people up which stopped with Nea. The other was base store outfits (For the artist) taken away from the store and given to people who pay for prime gaming. BHVR stated multiple times that they don't like exclusives and the only things that are exclusives are The l4d t-shirts, Dev Shirts, Legacy, And Twitch/ Any other content creator-made cosmetic. (Which all but the twitch shirts are from the old days of dbd). why do you think Battle pass cosmetics get put in the shop, or why everyone has kate's Freespirit shirt even though it was marketed as Exclusive and made people Repair over 70 gens to even get.
Edit Oh and all Stranger Things stuff could be seen as exclusives but that's because of the Chapter leaving not bhvr trying to make money by selling exclusives.
I'm not sure the L4D shirts are actually exclusive anymore to the PC platform? Also I occasionally see comments like yours pointing to the fact that BHVR are generally against exclusives yet BHVR seems to be creating more and more exclusive/time limited skins. But they are very inconsistent. They released a lot of exclusives in the past and most recently the deathgarden masks (or should I say just the meg mask?).
But things that are not obtainable right now (and kind of seem exclusive) are the things you listed and anniversary crowns, anniversary skins, Mikaela's and Doc's Halloween skin, rift charms, fog whisperer and bhvr charms, and now the prime exclusives. Then there's also the bloodletting shirt and Nintendo Switch exclusive skins. I probably missed a few, too.
So did BHVR ever really say what you mentioned or perhaps they had a quick U-turn? I feel like they may have said that in a brief time period where it was the easiest thing to say when they were releasing so many exclusives... even tournament exclusives. I still don't understand that.

The 30 second cooldown is enough for it to be much worse than Spinechill. You say you use it to know the "general direction" the killer is coming from, but with some awareness you should know that regardless of perks (if its not a stealthy killer).
Spinechill is superior because the perk will be on (lit up) for as long as the killer is facing your direction. So if it goes off and on quickly, chances are they aren't coming. If it is on for 2+ seconds, chances are the killer is on their way. With Premonition you don't know if they're just passing by, in a chase nearby or if they are on their way. And you won't get an update for another 30 seconds - at which point it's too late.
-
I feel like Hope is in a good place already to be honest. It's especially really strong against 110% killers around loops that can't be hit over, like large rocks.
I wouldn't be against pausing the timer when slugged or hooked though.
-
He's definitely one of the most fun meta killers to face. I don't mind Blight's running blighted crow. However if their good and use alchemist ring/insta down + blighted crow then he suddenly becomes one of the most boring killers to face.
-
I answered no... but now I remember I did have a few hundred hours in L4D2 on the Xbox 360 and PC. But other than that I played no other horror game and haven't watched any horror movies.
L4D2 for me wasn't frightening at all though so I don't know whether to count it as a "horror" game. The 4v4 versus was actually really fun and still is. My favourite game mode was TAAAAAAAAAAANNNKKKK!!!!! though but hardly anyone played it :)
-
I am a Boon: Circle of Healing Enjoyer.
-
I just hope other things don't start being completely removed. These bad apples essentially caused the masks to be removed because they used them as a tool to be racist. So they could effectively end up having end game chat and player names removed as they have the potential to be used as a tool to allow for racism. It's a slippery slope.
-
Just meh. Distortion buff made me laugh to be honest. The most interesting ones are Boil Over and Dead Man's Switch. Boil Over is niche although you can imagine it being used with Flip Flop + Unbreakable and dying in high places such as on the Iron Works of Misery stairs. So you could see scenarios where survivors get 75% wiggle very quickly.
Now someone did mention Boil Over being good if killers drop down the basement stairs. I can actually see the value in this, particularly since there is an increase in Bubba's recently which tend to use IG + Agi. Might come in clutch. Although I'm not aware of how much killers need to fall for the 25% wiggle to come into affect.Edit: I kind of forgot that killers can tell when Boil Over is in use (pretty sure there is a Boil Over icon). So for the basement scenario, it'll never come in use against good killers because they won't drop down the stairs.
-
-
Sounds like fun, I will. Am looking forward to the toggle additions although am still on the fence about the wiggle changes.
-
When you say twice in "one life" I'm not sure whether you're referring twice before each hook state or twice before a survivor is sacrificed.
Nevertheless, yes survivors can Dead Hard twice. There is no limit, but there is a cooldown period. Survivors have to wait 40 seconds (or less with the perk Vigil) whilst not running and they can use DH again.
-
You should consider the fact that games can be taken hostage on both sides by griefing players or cheaters thus forcing a DC and that players are sometimes DCed by no fault of their own (e.g., steam maintenance).
-
Do you have a screenshot of the survivors perks and addons? Did you get stunned by a pallet whilst hitting the survivor?
Maybe you missed something. Could be Mettle Of Man, Dead Hard validation, pallet validation, Borrowed Time, good Adrenaline timing, styptic agent addon etc.
-
That would make Clown much too oppressive in chases. Essentially you will be hit very soon after you pull a pallet down. You either try run around it and get hit or slow vault it, giving the killer enough time to go around and get a hit.
-
Patch up some windows and nuke the garage. The only other thing then that might be a hinderance is potentially long fence walls but it'd be in a better place.
