I know you are limited to what you can comment but will there be an announcement of some sort when you guys send them?

I think those vanilla mail will be sent from different devs, Peanit's role is in charge of community forum.

  • I would like to take a game like that, I'm currently learning to play nurse and they all bully me, any advice? I feel like my weakness is not able to tell where the heck they're going with confusing scratch marks.

  • I've got one vanilla ice-cream, want some?

  • @Hoodied said:

    Run BOTH perks

Good idea but wasted slot unless I have some one to play swf

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Autodidact is garbage. Don't believe me? Just play 5 games with it and come back and tell me how many tokens on average you get. Any heal perk will out perform it.

Nah just by the look of it I already knew it was but the concept kinda cool when giving free 75% healing progress at the stack of 5 tokens

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

Why not go all out healing wise. Botany knowledge we'll make it, autodidact, a green medkit with both the green add-ons that increase speed and possibly self care to top it off. Max efficiency and Max speed

The healing progress can't not go over 100%, so botany + we'll make it is wasted, same thing goes for medkit + autodidact can't be used together.

@PeenutsButt3r If you want to pip, you play in a way that will help you pip. It's still the Devs that changed what you have to do to pip (multiple hooks, etc.), though I personally don't find it all that difficult to pip. Survivors also have to adapt to the other side and teammates. It isn't just Killers who need to adapt to the game they're given. I wouldn't consider the Survivors to be "forced" by Killers and other Survivors, though. They're just working within the rules of ranking that the Devs have laid out for both them and Killers.

Tbh maybe it's just me but playing as survivors is more fun, more relaxing and having good moments compared to killers. As the killer, I feel under pressure of trying to pip rather than having fun right now (since I'm at purple rank atm), cause you need to step up your game in a hard way. So you need to learn and adapt more about the way survivors trying to play against you, especially SWF. The period that is the most fun to play as the killer is rank 10~17 in my opinion.

No one's forcing you to play any way and it isn't the survivors who make the terms for pipping; it's the devs. Your blame is misplaced @PeenutsButt3r

Listen, if you want to pip as a killer and this thread is about that, you need to adapt to how survivors are going to play in order to get a pip right? And you can't just blame the devs for making pipping so hard for the killer. Ok if the OP doesn't play for pipping, just play for fun, memes... then I wouldn't have written that. If you want a pip, you need to earn it. I used the word "force" just to emphasize that.

I don't see much of an issue. Survivor has to be lucky: killer has the advantage of faster movement, so it's usually him/her who finds the hatch first. Plus, if you 3K-d while there are still 4 or 5 gens to do, you already have a neat amount of Gatekeeper points and probably in the other categories too, whereas the remaining survivor most likely has not done enough gens to pip up.

Luck has always been a factor in this game, and necessarily so. Kind of a way to give casual/less skilled players some chance too. Finidng a purple key in a chest, hatch spawning next to you and so on: these are precious moments too. Not saying it's not better when every player in a game is amazing, they all give their best and in the end the bestest man wins, but there's some fun to have with random luck too.

It's not about pipping or killing or that much of luck. But the survivors must at least DO SOMETHING, even 1 gen is enough before they get awarded a chance to escape. Think of AFK-ing more like hiding all the time to avoid the crows, waiting for 3 people to die and then leave. (Mostly lower rank players) Once again, not about pipping.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@PeenutsButt3r hehehe new players who will play killers they will be mad :D

Probably but definitely not a good time for them, I was survivors main and then later on I switch to play killer and got bullied many times, tbag and stuffs. It's much better now since I've learned how to play the nurse.

    >I can understand Enduring won't reduce Head On stun duration but stop affecting DS stun in the new Enduring nerfing update is just...

They told that they'll change the duration of all stans according to the new change of the Enduring.

Yes I know, DS stunned my brain, edited.

  • @Milo said:

    @PeenutsButt3r How so.

Survivors could run the killer around for the entire match - no pip

Only doing gens because there's legit nothing to do (killer not downing anyone) - no pip.

    Don't be biased

I'm surprised you said biased, this thread talks about killer, more specifically, killers at high ranks (1-9) it's either you keep them busy as slugging, hooking when necessary, chasing the right people and putting pressure around the map to halt the gen rushing or you'll get rekt, hence no pip for you even with 4 kills (you don't chase that long, you don't hit many times and gen progress is going fast). Not to mention playing as killers require more emblems points to pip than survivors.

The pace of the killer game is depending on how survivors putting pressure on gens (this is why I said 'survivors' not the 'game', means you can play whatever you like not to worry about pips), if lower rank you just take advantage of them being scared, hiding... and prolong the match easier than higher rank, which will grant you much more points toward emblems because you have time to do all the work, therefore EZ pip or double pip.

Since the topic is about pipping killer, so I said "The survivors force you to play a particular way unfortunately."

  • @Milo said:

The game requires you to play a specific way unfortunately.

Let me correct that: "The survivors force you to play a particular way unfortunately."

  • "When I play killer I have never used Hex:Ruin and still have great fun and get *many 4 kills* because...I practice and get better and don't rely on a perk to slow the game for survivors, I speed my game up be as effective as I can + I am not a dick to my opposition by having this unfair advantage."

I've never laughed so hard the entire day.

Yes there was one one the left side.

I don't get games with double pallets thankfully somehow

  • @Peanits said:

By design, you're not supposed to be able to. Once they're jumping, you shouldn't be able to close it. The issue is likely down to latency, where the killer closed the hatch on their end before the survivor jumps on their end. In that small window, the survivor's client would basically say, "Hey killer, I'm jumping in", but by the time it gets to the killer, their client goes, "No you're not, I already closed it" and cancels their escape. You might see some of the animation as the killer as well depending on how the timing plays out.

You're not supposed to be able to close it once they're jumping, basically. We'll take a look and see if there's something wonky going on, but it will probably just be latency.

Agreed, I was a killer in a game that when there was 1 survivor sitting on the hatch and I was able to close it (spamming 'space') before I saw she was jumping into it and the 2 clients be like: "Hey I closed it first" "No I already jumped" for about 1s, just like 2 people going 2 different ways and a few time they walk into the same direction of the other (awkward). My killer model then get yoinked further away as the hatch closed (so I knew it was latency), survivor's body was like half the way into the ground and then returned back onto the hatch's lid.

  • Alright everyone here is experienced with DBD, but think about new players that are brand new to this game. I tried to pull my friends into playing this game, most of them like it cause it's not hard to learn mechanic of the game, but it's impossible for them to play fair&square with the perks difference. Imagine you're a new killer and 4 survivors with all the perks, items, addon... that is a nightmare.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:

It all comes down to your fun.

If you have an SWF killer loadout, and like using it, go for it.

If not? It's probably more trouble than it's worth.

A lot of people saying take the challenge are probably the former, not the latter, or are people tired of being dodged.

SWF is different when you have a hundred purple mori saved up, solid killer addons, and/or the right perks than if you don't have the ideal setup.

I mean I can do it but I won't like it, it's not personal or something, I'd prefer more time to booty smash survivors, chasing 4 people all around, good mind games... that is my definition of 'FUN', it doesn't have to do 4 mori or something, they can escape all they can/want if I maxed out.

Not just like: "Boom 1 gen done in a blink of an eye" meanwhile I try my best just to hook 1 person, not to mention the time looping, chasing down while they're on com. They could be like 2 people doing gens, 1 rescue, 1 getting attention.

So it takes 3 times on the hook to kill a person, like I mentioned 5 gens basically the time of 5-7 hooks. In order to kill one person you have to camp and tunnel, otherwise you get nothing out of it, they play the game too fast.

  • Just an idea, when you're in a SWF lobby ready to join a public lobby, the game should limit same perks that will be used/abused against a killer before matchmaking.

For example, "Decisive Strike" is only allowed to use one time for a SWF lobby, which means among 2, 3 or 4 of them, only 1 person can use that. Other perks are 1 time-use only should be Borrow Time, Mettle of Man.

Not the same kind of 2 exhaustion perks per match (For example: 2 Dead-Hard maximum for a SWF lobby, when 2 people have already picked Dead-Hard, the other one can use exhaustion perks like Sprint Burst, Balance Landing, Adrenaline...).

Solo survivors are free to pick whatever they like.

This is quite similar to picking operators in R6.

    Devs plz read this.

  • The time required to open exit gate is 16s now, from 20s -> 16s after EGC update

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

When I see a 4 man SWF, or all P3, I just bring my anti SWF destroyer build. Always choose a good SWF destroying killer.

I love and hate it as well, whenever I use the best offering/items to guarantee a 4K SWF, I don't have any pip at all, it went really quick.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

It depends. 4 man swf... yes I would dodge. It usually isn't very fun.

If its 2 or 3... do it and abuse their over the top altruism. I do.

    It's great.

    Indeed!

  • I thought u said rank 1 is impossible, red rank it's just not that hard for survivors, even though it might be harder for killer for the reason you hardly find a killer lobby in your region.

Tbh SWF is the way to get ez rank out of it compared to solo. With that said you will have to wait more if you want a good ping lobby.

  • @Starlobster4 said:

@ExpectTheW0rst I agree, its a good concept but totally unfair if you are a last man and the killer finds the hatch first which is 9/10 guaranteed. At this point unless you are extremely unlucky then killer has 99.99% chance of killing you as you are forced to go to an exit, revealing yourself and all the killer has to do is camp exits

Oh really, are you sure about that 99.99%? Why don't you camp the exit gate beforehand.

  • Why not, if survivors find it first, during a chase don't get the killer to that area, and jump in the hatch when available. If you don't find it, just go camp the exit gate and wait for the killer to close it, EZ counter play.

"EGC currently offers no counter play" - ok so not closing the hatch just like before the update and when there's a survivor sitting on it, killer can do nothing instead of waiting for that toxic survivor hold the game hostage.

  • The point is, if you're pointing, you stopped chasing

  • Simple, because legion has little counter-play. And the full bar thing, if the Legion can Frenzy whenever he/she likes, what about the spirit, she can't, how is that balanced.

  • Finally after 2 months my wish has come true, BBQ has returned to the shrine after... 2 years.

  • FeelsBadMan when most people here sugesting green ping and I'm here happy enough with yellow ping, otherwise I don't even have a decent green ping lobby to play as a survivor.

  • Because when you get to red rank, only few players left create a lobby and they are not near me. If I'm lucky enough, I'll get a killer playing within the country that means green ping.

  • @Slayer said:

Dont play with ping above 100ms

Sadly in Singapore, ASEAN region it's nearly impossible...

  • Can you guys reccommend a good 4-perk combo against this billy?

  • @ClogWench said:

Honestly? Stealth. If you know it's a hillbilly you should be prepared for BBQ and ready to hop in a locker at a moment's notice. Otherwise keep track of pallets if you can and try to tell when he has Spirit Fury ready.

I know how to deal with bbq, but you can't just hiding and stay steathy without doing gens, unless he's chasing obsession, I don't know if he's in the chase far away or patrolling gens. Plus some gens are far away from locker in the case I need it.

  • @Master said:

    Harder for survivors than killers?

    Have you tried killer? lul

But now you cant rank up to rank 1 that easily anymore, at least sth

At least there's a slight difference to me, I play nurse, spirit & hillbilly. Usually I get rank 1 as killer first.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

When someone comments that they are red rank, my thought will be, "oh you must be quite good then" as opposed to "oh you must play a lot then".

It used to be back in 1.x.xx version, but this one is even harder than that though

You're not tunneled because you have done something "wrong"... You're tunneled because you need to die. From the killers viewpoint at least.

Stop being a whimp and get used to being chased and occasionally killed if you play this game.

I'm not a good looper, usually get down after 30s chase, doesn't tbag. Usually I move on after bad games but this is far too much.

  • @Coriander said:

People dodge for that? Are they afraid of something? What happened to gamer pride?

I dodge because I can't play a normal game with them. Imagine you don't do anything wrong and they tunnel you at the start then hit you on the hook. Ok probably because of my outfit is a little bright but that's not fair, plus you have pride to let them abuse you on the hook like that?

  • @BACKSTABBER said:

In DC sometimes if killer is legion

Nah, I like playing with legion since I don't usually run self-care and hate being tunnelled.

  • @willcenx said:

With current punishment system, it actually is escape.

Nahh, when you bring items and then DC, it lost.

It's not much different from death thou.

  • @PubStar87 said:
    THIS

What the HECK is the point of ranking up as of right now?

Not that rank 100, the other rank with color at the very top right.

  • @Milo said:
Imma just nitpick this really quick

Skeleton key ( pink, ultra-rare item ) is now a master key, it can open any visible hatch in the map. But with a condition, the hatch that the skeleton key goes in, will be closed after 2 people have gone through or expired after 60 seconds.

So how do we do the achievement? Or does it get changed? The "Where did they go"

Idk, haven't thought of that achievement yet. Um, maybe it should change to "Open a hatch to save 2 survivors and then yourself end up with hatch escape"
